• Allow login from another site

  I have web application where I store users' password and username. If you logon to this site, you can login with the password and username to have access to your profile. There is another option that requires you to login to my site from your site and have your profile within your site. This is because you might already have a site that your clients know you with. This latter part is what I don't know to implement. I have these ideas: Have a fixed IFrame within your site to contain my site: but I am concerned about size/layout since different clients have different layout/size for their content section. I am thinking of how to maintain session too A webservice: I don't know how feasible this is since the Password and ID are on my server. You may have to send them back and forth. It means client would have to code with my API. But I am not just returning data, I have to show them a page that contains the profile details OpenID, Single-SignOn: Just guessing - but the authentication and data resides on my server. there is nothing to access on your side in this case Any other methods/better approach Examples: like login into facebook within my site and still be able to do post updates, receive notifications Facebook implement some of these with IFrame e.g. the Like button

  I am not sure am I doing these correct. I have 3 models, Account, User, and Event. Account contains a group of Users. Each User have its own username and password for login, but they can access the same Account data under the same Account. Events is create by a User, which other Users in the same Account can also read or edit it. I created the following migrations and models. Is this setting correct? Every time when a user create a new account, the system will ask for the user information, e.g. username and password. How can I add them into correct tables? • Need help on HttpWebrequest

  HI Guys I have the same issue and I am looking to solve it. Here is detail I have two web sites WebsiteA and WebSiteB (WebsiteB is not in my control, A type of black box for me.). Both websites have seprate login page I have alist of users,password of websiteB which I stored in database. I want a kind of common login page. If user is login to websiteA and he want to go to websiteB, he dont have to enter the login and password information again. I can not touch the code of websiteB. it's alredy deployed and runing. In websiteB in login form they have a Userid textbox and Password textbox and and a login Button. This butoon is not a submit button. It has a click event which calls a function to validate the user. it's not a simple post. WebsiteB has one webpage which has different frames. After login sucessfull. The pages doesnt go to any other page it remain on the same page but load the different frame. According to my knowledge. I can use httpwebrequest class. But faceing the following problem. Can not click the button. Response.Redirect does not work. It seems that WebsiteB is not storing any thing in cookies as cookies always return me a empty string I really appriciate if anyone can help me on it. How Can I use response.Redirect . As when I redirect it shows me the same login page.

• How can I provide property-level string formatting?

  Not sure if the question wording is accurate, but here's what I want to do: I want to databind a class with some strings in it: class MyClass { public string MyProperty { get; set; } public string MyProperty2 { get; set; } } When databinding, everything behaves normally. On the back end, I'm writing to a file and I want MyProperty2 to always be encrypted using some encryption algorithm. I want my back-end code to write each string without needing to know that encryption is required (I want the class to know it should be encrypted, not the consumer). Can I do this with a type converter, or something similar? EDIT: There are other scenarios as well. Some booleans I want to format as "Y" or "N", other booleans I want formatted as "Enabled" / "Disabled", etc. I can write (and have written) helper methods and let the file writer call the helper methods as appropriate, I'm just wondering if there's a way to do this without the file writer needing to know which objects need which kind of formatting and let the objects tell that to the file writer.

• Is my approach for persistent login secure ?

  I'm very much stuck with the reasonable secure approach to implement 'Remember me' feature in a login system. Here's my approach so far, Please advice me if it makes sense and is reasonably secure: Logging: User provides email and password to login (both are valid).. Get the user_id from DB Table Users by comparing provided email Generate 2 random numbers hashed strings: key1, key2 and store in cookies. In DB Table COOKIES, store key1, key2 along with user_id. To Check login: If key1 and key2 both cookies exist, validate both keys in DB Table COOKIES (if a row with key1, and key2 exists, user is logged). if cookie is valid, regenrate key2 and update it in cookie and also database. Why re-genrating key: Because if someone steals cookie and login with that cookie, it will be working only until the real user login. When the real user will login, the stolen cookie will become invalid. Right? Why do I need 2 keys: Because if i store user_id and single key in cookie and database, and the user want to remember the password on another browser, or computer, then the new key will be updated in database, so the user's cookie in earlier browser/PC will become invalid. User wont be able to remember password on more than one place. Thanks for your opinions.

You will be able to lookup all the details including the validity dates, subject common name and the public key modulus.Capture an SSL connection using WiresharkAnd as you would have expected, looking at the low-level tcp data that has been exchanged between the client and server with a tcp-diagnostics tool (i.e. wireshark/tcpdump) you can also see the modulus in there.These were the settings I used to capture all traffic on the local loopback interface, matching the filter expression: tcp and ip and host 127.0.0.1 and port 443. This tells Wireshark to leave out any other information, I may not have been interested in showing you.

• Task Scheduler Cannot Apply My Changes - Adding a User with Permissions

  I can log in to the server using a domain account without administrator privileges and create a task in the Task Scheduler. I am allowed to do an initial save of the task but unable to modify it with the same user account. When changes are complete, a message box prompts for the user password (same domain user I logged in with), then fails with the following message. Task Scheduler cannot apply your changes. The user account is unknown, the password is incorrect, or the account does not have permission to modify the task. When I check Log on as Batch Job Properties (found this from the Help documentation): This policy is accessible by opening the Control Panel, Administrative Tools, and then Local Security Policy. In the Local Security Policy window, click Local Policy, User Rights Assignment, and then Logon as batch job. Everything is grayed out, so I can't add a user. How can I add a user?

  Hello, that's me again. After having problem with estabilishing connection to github.com now I have a problem with next step - pushing. I need to mention, that I am novice at GIT service, and this whole Distributed Subversion Checking Systems world.. I have done git init, then git add *.h and git add *.cpp, but currently git status does not print anything in "# On branch master" section? Previously It was correctly printing whole list of added files, now this list is gone. Nextly, I have executed: git remote add origin https://github.com/mgeeky/disasm.git and error has occured after: git push origin master Username: Password: error: Cannot access URL https://github.com/mgeeky/disasm.git/, return code 22 fatal: git-http-push failed What should I do now? I've tried: git push origin Username: Password: No refs in common and none specified; doing nothing. Perhaps you should specify a branch such as 'master'.   I installed OpenNebula 3.2.1 following the guide found under http://opennebula.org/documentation:rel3.2:ignc on a Debian 6.0.4 machine. Everything seemed fine until trying to execute the command onevm list Then I always get this: oneadmin@opennebula-master:~$ onevm list [VirtualMachinePoolInfo] User couldn't be authenticated, aborting call. The file one_auth exists. I even gave the oneadmin user a password although it doesn't seem to be required according to the guide. I copied the password hash from /etc/shadow to the one_auth file. Still no success. Any ideas are appreciated.

We're building a new outbound smtp server for our clients that features anti-spam scanning and virus scanning for outbound emails, something we had not previously done. So with CentOS 5.5 x64, Installed and patched completely. Postfix & Dovecot both installed via base repo. My server can talk to my database server. but dovecot, for whatever reason, isn't able to. I've fiddled with it for the last six hours, grabbed slightly-older copies of the RPM (ones that matched our production server exactly) to test those, copied configs, searched google, searched server fault, chatted in IRC, banged my head against the table, I've done it all. Surely I'm doing something wrong or forgetting something, can anyone tell me what the elephant in the room is? This stuff is supposed to work.

  Hey all, i am new at setting up a Windows Server so keep that in mind :o) I have following some tutorials online but all seem to have different settings/icons than i do. All i need to setup is a user and password so that i can ftp into the server from my home computer and upload files into the wwwroot directory. I copied all files under "Program Files/Microsoft ADAM" folder to the same path in the destination server and started the ADAM service in the destination server up. Although the service come back up successfully and I was able to connect to the instance with ADAM ADSI Edit mmc snap-in, I found I had to reset every single user's password before they can login again. Has anyone got this issue before? Is the password encrypted with the server IP address or something like that?

  Storyline Trying to migrate a database from MySQL to PostgreSQL. All the documentation I have read covers, in great detail, how to migrate the structure. I have found very little documentation on migrating the data. The schema has 13 tables (which have been migrated successfully) and 9 GB of data. MySQL version: 5.1.x PostgreSQL version: 8.4.x I want to use the R programming language to analyze the data using SQL select statements; PostgreSQL has PL/R, but MySQL has nothing (as far as I can tell). A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... Create the database location (/var has insufficient space; also dislike having the PostgreSQL version number everywhere -- upgrading would break scripts!): sudo mkdir -p /home/postgres/main sudo cp -Rp /var/lib/postgresql/8.4/main /home/postgres sudo chown -R postgres.postgres /home/postgres sudo chmod -R 700 /home/postgres sudo usermod -d /home/postgres/ postgres All good to here. Next, restart the server and configure the database using these installation instructions: sudo apt-get install postgresql pgadmin3 sudo /etc/init.d/postgresql-8.4 stop sudo vi /etc/postgresql/8.4/main/postgresql.conf Change data_directory to /home/postgres/main sudo /etc/init.d/postgresql-8.4 start sudo -u postgres psql postgres \password postgres sudo -u postgres createdb climate pgadmin3 Use pgadmin3 to configure the database and create a schema.   I have an account with on Yahoo! Mail, another on Gmail. In Outlook 2007, I've set them up so that I can access them without having to go to their websites. I've password protected my personal folder, but can't find a way to merge my accounts into one personal folder. When I want to switch between my accounts, I must type my password again. • Windows 7 Login User Doesn't Exist

  I have another interesting issue... because of some issue with a lost password, I had to manually change the password to one of the accounts via and DOS hack. However, somehow in the process I now have a phantom username that I am asked to logon to when Windows first starts... This username doesn't exit. In order to login, I have to "change user" and manually type in the correct username. Is there a way that I can edit which username it prompts me for? I'd like to repair this without having to reinstall just yet.
