    My app structure is that i have a menu with 5 menu-point om the left side, and the content on the right side. MainActivity.xml <RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent" > <fragment android:id="@+id/fragmentMenu" android:name="com.example.FragmentMenu" android:layout_width="@dimen/MenuWidth" android:layout_height="match_parent" /> <LinearLayout android:id="@+id/content" android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent" android_layout_toRightOf="@+id/fragmentMenu" android:orientation="vertical"/> </RelativeLayout> MainActivity.java public class FragmentActivityMain extends FragmentActivity { @Override protected void onCreate(final Bundle arg0) { super.onCreate(arg0); setContentView(R.layout.fragment_activity_main); FragmentManager fm = getSupportFragmentManager(); FragmentMenu fragmentMenu = (FragmentMenu) fm.findFragmentById(R.id.fragmentMenu); fragmentMenu.init(); } } And certainly I have a FragmenMenu class, public class FragmentMenu extends ListFragment { @Override public View onCreateView(final LayoutInflater inflater, final ViewGroup container, final Bundle savedInstanceState) { View view = inflater.inflate(R.layout.fragment_menu, container, false); return view; } public init() { FragmentManager fm = getFragmentManager(); FragmentTransaction ft = fm.beginTransaction(); FragmentNowListView lw = new FragmentCarListView(); ft.add(R.id.content, lw); ft.commit(); } } The FragmentCarList is a simple list, now with static test data, only five items in a List My Problem: Slow. I tested the app on my phone (Galaxy S3) and I see white screen when app starting, around 0,5 second and this is the log: 10-29 11:43:44.093: D/dalvikvm(29710): GC_CONCURRENT freed 267K, 5% free 13903K/14535K, paused 10ms+2ms 10-29 11:43:44.133: D/dalvikvm(29710): GC_FOR_ALLOC freed 215K, 6% free 13896K/14663K, paused 12ms 10-29 11:43:44.233: D/dalvikvm(29710): GC_FOR_ALLOC freed 262K, 6% free 13901K/14663K, paused 12ms 10-29 11:43:44.258: D/dalvikvm(29710): GC_FOR_ALLOC freed 212K, 6% free 13897K/14663K, paused 13ms 10-29 11:43:44.278: D/dalvikvm(29710): GC_FOR_ALLOC freed 208K, 6% free 13897K/14663K, paused 12ms 10-29 11:43:44.328: D/dalvikvm(29710): GC_FOR_ALLOC freed 131K, 4% free 14098K/14663K, paused 12ms 10-29 11:43:44.398: D/dalvikvm(29710): GC_CONCURRENT freed 20K, 3% free 14559K/14919K, paused 1ms+4ms And when I tested on Xperia Ray, the whit screen appear longer time.   • Using Ruby/Python code in an iPhone OS app?

    - by igul222
My app needs to use a library which is only available for Python and Ruby. From my understanding, Apple allows Ruby to run on iPhone as long as users can't execute arbitrary code (Rhomobile uses Ruby). How can I bundle Ruby/Python with my app, call a function from my Obj-C code, and get the result (a string) back in C or Obj-C format?

Actually i dont want to test my bundles in Netbeans environment so i copy the jar file to the OSGi container directory and install it from command line. But when i want to see its headers from OSGi console, i see a lot of Netbeans related unnecessary stuff. Is it possible to edit the contents of the manifest file in Netbeans?

  • Prevent ASP.NET MVC Bundles Loading more than once

    - by Tim
is there an inbuilt method of tracking if a bundle has already been loaded? I have several edit views which forexample require jquery and jquery.Validate etc libraries. Which i don't need to reference on the main layout page. Since a page could consist of several different conditional libraries ... ideally i would like @scripts.Render to know if i have already referenced a library and prevent its reloading. Cheers Tim

  • Launch another instance of Java app on Mac

    - by TomA
I have a Mac Java app bundle that has problems opening an OpenGL window from a SWT dialog in a single process. It just doesn't work. To solve this problem I would like to open a SWT dialog in one instance of the Java app and then have it launch another instance of itself with a parameter saying "this time open the OpenGL window". The part I don't know how to do is finding out what "itself" is on a Mac. How can I do that?

  • Android: roatating images in a loop.

    - by user573736
Hello, I am trying with no success to modify the code example from: http://www.inter-fuser.com/2009/08/android-animations-3d-flip.html so it will rotate the images in a loop, when clicking on the image once. (second click should pause). I tried using Handler and threading but cannot update the view since only the main thread can update UI. Exception I get from the code below: android.view.ViewRoot$CalledFromWrongThreadException: Only the original thread that created a view hierarchy can touch its views. [in 'image1.startAnimation(rotation);' ('applyRotation(0, 90);' from the main thread)] package com.example.flip3d; import android.app.Activity; import android.os.Bundle; import android.view.View; import android.view.animation.AccelerateInterpolator; import android.widget.ImageView; public class Flip3d extends Activity { private ImageView image1; private ImageView image2; private boolean isFirstImage = true; /** Called when the activity is first created. */ @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); image1 = (ImageView) findViewById(R.id.image01); image2 = (ImageView) findViewById(R.id.image02); image2.setVisibility(View.GONE); image1.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View view) { if (isFirstImage) { applyRotation(0, 90); isFirstImage = !isFirstImage; } else { applyRotation(0, -90); isFirstImage = !isFirstImage; } } }); } private void applyRotation(float start, float end) { // Find the center of image final float centerX = image1.getWidth() / 2.0f; final float centerY = image1.getHeight() / 2.0f; // Create a new 3D rotation with the supplied parameter // The animation listener is used to trigger the next animation final Flip3dAnimation rotation = new Flip3dAnimation(start, end, centerX, centerY); rotation.setDuration(500); rotation.setFillAfter(true); rotation.setInterpolator(new AccelerateInterpolator()); rotation.setAnimationListener(new DisplayNextView(isFirstImage, image1, image2)); if (isFirstImage) { image1.startAnimation(rotation); } else { image2.startAnimation(rotation); } } } How can I manage to update the UI and control the rotation within onClick listener? Thank you, Oakist

I'm keeping in mind these devices are newer and have better hardware but am also wondering if the platform and the implementation affect performance much and if there is anything that could reduce runtimes on 2.2 devices. Note, the classes.dex of the .apk being accessed is roughly 4MB. Thanks!

  • Problem with Landscape and Portrait view in a TabBar Application

    - by JoshD
I have an TabBar app that I would like to be in landscape and portrait. The issue is when I go to tab 2 make a selection from my table then select tab 1 and rotate the device, then select tab 2 again the content does not know that the device rotated and will not display my custom orientated content correctly. I am trying to write a priovate method that tells the view what orientation it is currently in. IN viewDidLoad I am assuming it is in portrait but in shouldAutoRotate I have it looking in the private method for the correct alignment of the content. Please Help!! • get Phone numbers from android phone

    - by Luca
Hi! First of all i'm sorry for my english... I've a problem getting phone numbers from contacts. That's my code import android.app.ListActivity; import android.database.Cursor; import android.os.Bundle; import android.provider.ContactsContract; import android.widget.SimpleAdapter; import android.widget.Toast; import java.util.ArrayList; import java.util.HashMap; public class TestContacts extends ListActivity { private ArrayList<HashMap<String,String>> list = new ArrayList<HashMap<String,String>>(); private SimpleAdapter numbers; /** Called when the activity is first created. */ @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.contacts); numbers = new SimpleAdapter( this, list, R.layout.main_item_two_line_row, new String[] { "line1","line2" }, new int[] { R.id.text1, R.id.text2 } ); setListAdapter( numbers ); Cursor cursor = getContentResolver().query(ContactsContract.Contacts.CONTENT_URI, null, null, null, null); while (cursor.moveToNext()) { String contactId = cursor.getString(cursor.getColumnIndex( ContactsContract.Contacts._ID)); String hasPhone = cursor.getString(cursor.getColumnIndex( ContactsContract.Contacts.HAS_PHONE_NUMBER)); //check if the contact has a phone number if (Boolean.parseBoolean(hasPhone)) { Cursor phones = getContentResolver().query( ContactsContract.CommonDataKinds.Phone.CONTENT_URI, null, ContactsContract.CommonDataKinds.Phone.CONTACT_ID +" = "+ contactId, null, null); while (phones.moveToNext()) { // Get the phone number!? String contactName = phones.getString( phones.getColumnIndex( ContactsContract.CommonDataKinds.Phone.DISPLAY_NAME)); String phoneNumber = phones.getString( phones.getColumnIndex( ContactsContract.CommonDataKinds.Phone.NUMBER)); Toast.makeText(this, phoneNumber, Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show(); drawContact(contactName, phoneNumber); } phones.close(); } }cursor.close(); } private void drawContact(String name, String number){ HashMap<String,String> item = new HashMap<String,String>(); item.put( "line1",name); item.put( "line2",number); list.add( item ); numbers.notifyDataSetChanged(); } } It'seems that no contact have a phone number (i've added 2 contacts on the emulator and i've tried also on my HTC Desire). The problem is that if (Boolean.parseBoolean(hasPhone)) returns always false.. How can i get correctly phone numbers? I've tried to call drawContact(String name, String number) before the if statement without querying for the phone number, and it worked (it draws two times the name). but on the LinearLayout they are not ordered alphabetically... how can i order alphabetically (similar to the original contacts app)? thank you in advice, Luca

  • Scrolling RelativeLayout- white border over part of the content

    - by Tanis.7x
I have a fairly simply Fragment that adds a handful of colored ImageViews to a RelativeLayout. There are more images than can fit on screen, so I implemented some custom scrolling. However, When I scroll around, I see that there is an approximately 90dp white border overlapping part of the content right where the edges of the screen are before I scroll. It is obvious that the ImageViews are still being created and drawn properly, but they are being covered up. How do I get rid of this? I have tried: Changing both the RelativeLayout and FrameLayout to WRAP_CONTENT, FILL_PARENT, MATCH_PARENT, and a few combinations of those. Setting the padding and margins of both layouts to 0dp. Example: Fragment: public class MyFrag extends Fragment implements OnTouchListener { int currentX; int currentY; RelativeLayout container; final int[] colors = {Color.BLACK, Color.RED, Color.BLUE}; @Override public View onCreateView(LayoutInflater inflater, ViewGroup fragContainer, Bundle savedInstanceState) { return inflater.inflate(R.layout.fragment_myfrag, null); } @Override public void onActivityCreated(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onActivityCreated(savedInstanceState); container = (RelativeLayout) getView().findViewById(R.id.container); container.setOnTouchListener(this); // Temp- Add a bunch of images to test scrolling for(int i=0; i<1500; i+=100) { for (int j=0; j<1500; j+=100) { int color = colors[(i+j)%3]; ImageView image = new ImageView(getActivity()); image.setScaleType(ImageView.ScaleType.CENTER); image.setBackgroundColor(color); LayoutParams lp = new RelativeLayout.LayoutParams(100, 100); lp.setMargins(i, j, 0, 0); image.setLayoutParams(lp); container.addView(image); } } } @Override public boolean onTouch(View v, MotionEvent event) { switch (event.getAction()) { case MotionEvent.ACTION_DOWN: { currentX = (int) event.getRawX(); currentY = (int) event.getRawY(); break; } case MotionEvent.ACTION_MOVE: { int x2 = (int) event.getRawX(); int y2 = (int) event.getRawY(); container.scrollBy(currentX - x2 , currentY - y2); currentX = x2; currentY = y2; break; } case MotionEvent.ACTION_UP: { break; } } return true; } } XML: <FrameLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" tools:context=".FloorPlanFrag"> <RelativeLayout android:id="@+id/container" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" /> </FrameLayout>

  • Problems installing RMagick with Paperclip in Rails 3

    - by Smickie
Hi, I'm trying to use paperclip in rails and when I'm doing the "bundle install" I'm getting the following error: Can't install RMagick 2.13.1. Can't find Magick-config in /usr/local/mysql/bin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/git/bin:/usr/X11/bin:/Users/seanhinton/.rvm/bin What I'm wondering is how do I install RMagick (is that what I need?) on my machine (it's OSX 10.6)? Cheers!

I am using the Apache/Tomcat that comes with the liferay portal bundle and I used the MySQL that comes with WampServer at home but now I want to transfer my portal to a real Server and I wanted to know whether I could still use the Wamp's MySQL or should I install a real MySQL (What's the difference?) Thanks in advance.

  • How to package Qt Framework on Mac OS X?

    - by Chris Kaminski
I'm developing an application for the Mac, and I'm wicked new at this - what would be the best way to distribute the Qt Framework so that I'm not impacting an already existing framework, and so that my App.app picks up the libraries. I'm also using boost, so I'm curious how a simple bundle works with libraries.
