  • iPhone: Setup static content of UITableView

    This guide from apple https://developer.apple.com/iphone/prerelease/library/documentation/UserExperience/Conceptual/TableView_iPhone/TableViewCells/TableViewCells.html (you need login) explains how to use "The Technique for Static Row Content" to use Interface Builder to setup the cells in a tableview. I have some cells with different heights in my tableview. Without using the heightForRowAtIndexPath method everything get messed up. Do I still need to use this method or can I in some way setup the height of the cells inside the IB as I created them there? Also when using the "The Technique for Static Row Content" from the guide you still need to use the cellForRowAtIndexPath to setup the cells even if they are created in IB. I would like to setup the full layout of the tableview with all cells in IB (drag the cells right into the tableview), is that possible in some way? Thanks!

    I took a look at the "Beginner's Guide to LINQ" post here on StackOverflow (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8050/beginners-guide-to-linq), but had a follow-up question: We're about to ramp up a new project where nearly all of our database op's will be fairly simple data retrievals (there's another segment of the project which already writes the data). Most of our other projects up to this point make use of stored procedures for such things. However, I'd like to leverage LINQ-to-SQL if it makes more sense. So, the question is this: For simple data retrievals, which approach is better, LINQ-to-SQL or stored procs? Any specific pro's or con's? Thanks.

    I wanted to install xdebug via MacPorts, trying the terminal command sudo port install php5-xdebug But after a while the installation breaks, giving me an error ---> Configuring php5 Error: org.macports.configure for port php5 returned: configure failure: command execution failed Error: Failed to install php5 Please see the log file for port php5 for details: /opt/local/var/macports/logs/_opt_local_var_macports_sources_rsync.macports.org_release_tarballs_ports_lang_php5/php5/main.log Error: The following dependencies were not installed: php5 To report a bug, follow the instructions in the guide: http://guide.macports.org/#project.tickets Error: Processing of port php5-xdebug failed I checked with phpinfo(), that my version of php is 5.3.1 What am I missing?     Hi All, I need your help to explore few topics in Android. My understanding is Widget is View and Layout is ViewGroups in Android. Same is the case for Spinner in Andriod developer.android.com/resources/tutorials/views/hello-spinner.html- (add http:// in the beginning) (Link- says Spinner is Widget(View)) developer.android.com/guide/topics/ui/layout-objects.html- (add http:// in the beginning) says Spinner is Layout(ViewGroup) So, Spinner is View or ViewGroup? I am thinking of an idea, Please guide me if it is feasible and good enough Each log have Process name , Thread id , and Time stamp along with message. If I can create a intelligence to capture what is happing with time and display in a movie which user can view it like a normal video.   • Installing sqlite on windows xp for ruby on rails?

    I've been trying to follow this guide to installing ruby and rails on my new machine. I'm having problems, however, when it comes to the sqlite gem. I installed the gem, which seemed to work perfectly. Then, however, it tells me to download a zip file from http://www.sqlite.org/sqlitedll-3_7_3.zip. When I do, the file is downloaded, but it doesn't seem to be a zip file. It has the icon of a microsoft word file, and clicking on it opens up Word but the file isn't opened, it just shows error messages. There is no option to extract the file, which is what the guide says to do. Is this a problem with sqlite or my machine? Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello friends, I have four TabBarItem (TTTabItem) in a TabBar (TTTabBar). In one case, i want to remove the TabBarItem selection from any of the four TabBarItems (TTTabItem) . i.e., the complete TabBar will not show any TabBarItems selected. Can i achieve it? I tried the following, [_tabBar1 setSelectedTabItem:nil]; But it is crashing. Could someone guide me to resolve this? I need help urgently. (OR) If we clicked on one TabBarItem(TTTabItem), then again clicking on same TabBarItem(TTTabItem) will not call/execute anything right. Can i make it always clicking on a TabBarItem, should call "(void)tabBar: (UITabBar *)tabBar didSelectItem:(UITabBarItem *)item" (or) any other relevant system functions? I need your helps urgently, could someone guide me for my issue? Thank you.

    I am trying to implement sync adaptor, I have followed This guide. But onPerformSync() is not triggered after ContentResolver.requestSync() call . I have also tried some other tutorials and tried to run their code, but still same issue. Please tell me does I need to do some extra configuration for this. My code of triggering sync operation is as folows : Account newAccount = new Account(GlobalInfo.ACCOUNT, GlobalInfo.ACCOUNT_TYPE); AccountManager accountManager = (AccountManager) this.getSystemService(ACCOUNT_SERVICE); accountManager.addAccountExplicitly(newAccount, null, null); ContentResolver.requestSync(newAccount,GlobalInfo.AUTHORITY, Bundle.EMPTY); Please guide me to solve this issue.
