• NHibernate Child items query using Parent Id

  So I have a set up similar to this questions: Parent Child Setup Everything works great when saving the parent and the children. However, I seem to have a problem when selecting the children. I can't seem to get all the children with a specific parent. This fails with: NHibernate.QueryException: could not resolve property: ParentEntity_id of: Test.Data.ChildEntity Here is my code: public IEnumerable<ChildEntity> GetByParent(ParentEntity parent) { using (ISession session = OrmHelper.OpenSession()) { return session.CreateCriteria<ChildEntity>().Add(Restrictions.Eq("ParentEntity_id ", parent.Id)).List<ChildEntity>(); } } Any help in building a proper function to get all the items would be appreciated.   Hi there, I want to do a model class which associates to itself on Rails. Basically, a user has friends, which are also users. I typed the following inside a User model class: has_many :friends, :class_name => "User", :foreign_key => :user_id, :finder_sql => %{SELECT users.* FROM users INNER JOIN friends ON (users.id = friends.user_id OR users.id = friends.friend_id) WHERE users.id <> #{id}} But the funny fact is that it seems that this finder_sql is called twice whenever I type User.first.friends on irb.   Hello. I have a Python script that reads a file (typically from optical media) marking the unreadable sectors, to allow a re-attempt to read said unreadable sectors on a different optical reader. I discovered that my script does not work with block devices (e.g. /dev/sr0), in order to create a copy of the contained ISO9660/UDF filesystem, because os.stat().st_size is zero. The algorithm currently needs to know the filesize in advance; I can change that, but the issue (of knowing the block device size) remains, and it's not answered here, so I open this question. I have the following result from a table idMain IdSecondary TextValue 1,1,text1 1,2,text2 2,5,text3 2,6,text5 And I want to obtain the first occurence of the idMain only. THe result should be like this. idMain,idSecondary,TextValue 1,1,text1 2,5,text3 How can I achieve this?

• use variable within a linq query

  take this linq into consideration: list.Where(sil => sil.XML.Element("ticket") != null && sil.XML.Element("ticket").Attribute("id").Value == smsRequestIn.TicketID) if the "ticket" element is not null it searches for it twice and hence is not very effective. Is there a way to use some sort of variables within the linq expression so I can reference the variable instead of doing a double search for the "ticket" element or is linq intelligent enough to not do a double search?

• Question about a http form GET method, using query arguments

  I am looking at a bug in WebSVN where when I get into a file log and click on compare, it looses the repository name as part of the request. The details are unimportant. However, I've tracked down the bug to a http form that looks like this: <form method="get" action="comp.php?repname=Binaries&amp;" id="compare"> .... <input type="hidden" name="KEY" value="VALUE"> Is this supposed to work? Will both the "repname" argument, specified as part of the URL, and the hidden value be sent? It seems Chrome 4.1 only sends the hidden argument, and removes the repname parameter altogether. Is this correct? I fixed it temporarily, pending more information, by adding another hidden field for repname with the same value, and now everything works, I'm just wondering if Chrome or WebSVN is in fault here.
