  • Using Emacs for big big projects

    Hello, Maybe is a often repeated question here, but i can't find anything similar with the search. The point is that i like to use Emacs for my personal projects, usually very small applications using C or python, but i was wondering how to use it also for my work, in which we have project with about 10k files of source code, so is veeeery big (actually i am using source insight, that is very nice tool, but only for windows), questions are: Searching: Which is the most convenient way to search a string within the whole project? Navigating throught the function: I mean something like putting the cursor over a function, define, var, and going to the definition Refactoring Also if you have any experience with this and want to share your thoughts i will consider it highly interesting.     Hello everyone in serverfault. I am having a big problem at my job. I will let everyone know what I am using. I have two ibm x3690 servers with vmware esxi on both. Our product server has 8 vm on there. I have two lefthand san from HP. I have a watchgurd firewall. Our other site. I have one server over there ibm x3b90 sever. with one vm on there. I have a cisco 1700 router. and another watchgurd firewall. I have a vpn tunnel to my watchgurd firewall, to my cisco router. Site one works great. site two is having problems saving word documents and having problems printing in publisher 2007. Can someone please help?

  • Replace these OpenGL functions with OpenGL ES?

    I search for a possibility to migrate my PC OpenGL application and an iPhone App into one XCode project (for convenience). So if I make chances to these source files I want to apply this for both plattforms and want to be able to compile for both plattforms from one project. How could I accomplish this? Is there a way to do so in XCode 4 or 3.25? Any help would be highly appreciated edit: Okay, I went so far - All in all, it seems to work with XCode 4. My only problems are these openGL/Glut functions, that aren't working on iPhone: glPushAttrib( GL_DEPTH_BUFFER_BIT | GL_LIGHTING_BIT ); glPopAttrib(); glutGet(GLUT_ELAPSED_TIME); glutSwapBuffers(); Any ideas how to fix these issues?

    I have a small confusion about the differences between the 2 types of set ups: When deploying using Add Roles and Features the Wizard requests to choose from one of two Deployment Scenarios: Virtual machine-based desktop deployment : Virtual machine-based desktop deployment allows users to connect to virtual desktop collections that include published RemoteApp programs and virtual desktops. Session-based desktop deployment : Session-based desktop deployment allows users to connect to session collections that include published RemoteApp programs and session-based desktops. Although this seems intuitive now, if I continue with "Virtual machine-based desktop deployment" I later have another two options when creating a collection: Pooled virtual desktop collection Personal virtual desktop collection This is where my confusion lies. What is the differences between a Session-based deployment and Virtual machine-based deployment with Personal virtual desktop collections? I'm mostly finding information pertaining to Windows Server 2008 but I know there are some core improvements in VDI 2012 so would someone please comment on that. Thank you

  • Microsoft IME + Japanese: Force Hiragana input by default?

    I am using Windows XP SP3 and Windows 7. On both machines, I cannot make Hiragana the default input method. Is there a way to do this? In the IME tool bar, there is the option to set the "Input Mode." This is always defaulted to "Direct Input." I would like to default to Hirgana or Katakana. I have found the setting dialog for this, by right clicking on the IME toolbar - settings - Japanese IME Standard - Properties - Default Input Mode. This setting seems to have no effect, no matter the combination of selections in the dialogs. Is there a way to reliably set the default Input Mode?

  • Microsoft Word Document Recovery seems unresolvable

    We work on a server (Windows Server 2003 Enterprise) that a bunch of us developers remote in using Remote Desktop Connection, and now every "other" time I open up word I get this Document Recovery pane: As you can see, "Delete" and "Show Repairs" are disabled (I don't think this is my document). "Open" or "Save As" works, but it never marks this document recovered, it just keeps coming up every "other" time I open up word. I don't even care about this document. How can I remove this document from the list so that it doesn't come up anymore? Update: As per Moab's comment, I had the user delete the file. But the Document Recovery still shows up with that item every other time Word is opened. The only difference now is that clicking on "Open" produces this (obvious) message: How can I clear this list? BTW, the user that owned this document was never getting the Document Recovery pane.

  • Using graphical ActiveX (COM) controls in WinForms project

    I have a collection (set) of ActiveX controls. I recieved them from our vendor company. I created a wrappers for them using tlbimp.exe and aximp.exe. All non-graphical controls work good. All graphical controls don't react on some methods. When I call their methods I get: TargetInvocativeException (InnerException is null). or Attempt to read/write protected memory. Our vendor company assure that their graphical activex controls work good. But they don't provide support service, so I have to find solution of my problem alone. And some more, All graphical activex controls don't react on mouseclick or any other mouse manipulations. But documentation says: it must change the color on mouse click. Maybe, someone have same symptoms and can help me ! I googled over that problem many pages but they don't help me. Maybe it's some Visual Studio settings or compiler options ? I use VS 2005.

    When I add libiphone-exif.a to snapandrun in objectiveflickr I get this error: ".objc_class_name_EXFJpeg", referenced from: literal-pointer@__OBJC@__cls_refs@EXFJpeg in SnapAndRunViewController.o ld: symbol(s) not found collect2: ld returned 1 exit status I do not know what this means, I follow the guide to add it, add all of the .h files and the libiphone-exif.a Is there something special I have to do?

    I am using Ubuntu 9.10 and I am a bit of a robotics enthusiast. I have used KiKS (in MATLAB for simulating Khepera robots), MobotSim (in Windows, simulates a point like robot using a BASIC editor) and Player/Stage (with C/C++ on Ubuntu 9.04). My question, can MS Robotics Studio be installed in Ubuntu Linux using Wine (I am using 1.1.31) ? Has anyone done it ? Any other way to install MS Robotics Studio in Unix (Any flavour) ?     Hello , Created a WCF service as a WebRole using Azure and a client windows application which refers to this service. The Cloud Service is refered to a certificate which is created using the "Hands On Lab" given in windows identity foundation. The Web Service is hosted in IIS and it works perfect when executed. I've created a client windows app which refers to this web service. Since WIF Claims identity is used, I have a claimsAuthorizationManager Class, and also a Policy class with set of defilned policies. The Claims is set in the web.config file. When I execute the windows app as the start up project, the app prompts for authentication, and when the account credentials are given as in the config file, it opens a new "Windows Card Space" Window and Says "Incoming Policy Failed". When I close the window the System throws and Exception The incoming policy could not be validated. For more information, please see the event log.   • Managing common components with Fossil CVS

    I'm a Fossil (and CVS configuration novice) attempting to create and manage a set of distributed Fossil repositories for a Delphi project. I have the following directory tree: Projects Some Project Delphi Components LookupListView Some Client Some Project For Client Some Other Project For Client Source Code Project Resources Project Database I am setting up Fossil version control in order to version and share Projects\Some Client\Some Other Project For Client\Source Code, which contains Delphi 2010 source for a database project. This project makes use of Projects\Delphi Components\LookupListView which is a Delphi component. I need this code to be included in the versioning system for my project. I will, in theory, need to include it in other Fossil repositories in the future, as well. If I create my Fossil repository at the Source Code or Some Other Project For Client level, I cannot add any code above that level to my repository. What is the proper way to deal with this? The two solutions that occur to me are 1) Creating a separate repository for LookupListView and make sure that everyone who uses a repository for a project that references it "knows" that they must also get the current version of this project as well. This seems to defeat the purpose of being able to obtain a complete, current version of the project with a single checkout. The problem is magnified because there are other common component dependencies in this project. 2) Establishing my Fossil repository in the Projects directory, so I can check in files from various subfolders. This seems to me to involve an awful lot of extra path-typing when doing adds, and also to impose my directory structure (Some Client\Some Other Project For Client\Source) on the other users of the repository -- in this case, the actual client. Any suggestions appreciated.

  • an enter key are handled twice in WPF/Winform mixed project

    I have a winform dashboard which hosts some WPF dialogs. When I select a row in the winform ListView and hit Enter key, OnItemActivate is called which launches a WPF dialog. However, the WPF dialog appears and then disappears immediately because the default button “cancel” is hit. It seems that the Enter key is triggered twice, one for launching the WPF dialog, the other for hitting cancel button. We don’t want the WPF dialog to be canceled by the Enter key hitting. According to the stack trace, it looks like that WPF and Winform handle the enter key separately. The WPF does not know that the enter key has been handled by the Winform ListView. Is this by design in Winform and WPF interop? To make the enter key not close the WPF dialog, we have to change the focus from the cancel button to another control (e.g. a textblock). Is there a better way to fix/around this issue?

    To find an Assembly programmer is very hard to help me I'm a established Delphi programmer that has an old copy of Delphi that is not .net And I have a *.dll that I'm converting into Delphi code for .net I'm on a big learning curve hear as i know little of .net yet. I've just got a computer with .net today!!!!!! I've run the *.dll through a dissembler and started putting jump links in as writing in Delphi assembly you do not do any addressing, just reference links. The file has fixed string structures (i think C++) ASCII & ANSI strings 1/ I do not know how to identify how the code references these structures 2/ and I do not know were the functions begin and what shape they look like The code is free for any one to look at their is not many functions in it. but I have to email it as stack over flow will not allow me to display it.   • The Project Location is Not Trusted error in Visual Studio

    Quite a simple error, and the reason is obvious - I mapped a network drive, and I am opening the solution from it. Visual Studio gives me this error. I tried googling, and to my surprise, couldn't find a fix. I am running Visual Studio 2008. The solutions I found on google say I should run Mscorcfg.msc, but unfortunately, I don't seem to have that file anywhere on my computer. Nor do I seem to have anything in my control panel relating to .NET Framework. I can of course, run .NET applications fine, so the framework exists. Another solution suggested running caspol.exe, although this is .NET 2, which I also tried to no avail. Any ideas? I should add that I am trying to add the path to whatever trusted list there is.

  • Embedding wav files in AS3 Flash/Flex project?

    The Flash IDE is capable of embedding many types of uncompressed sound files, including wav, and offers optional compression when publishing. However, the [Embed] tag, only seems to allow embedding of mp3 files. Is it truly impossible to embed an uncompressed wav file, or am I missing some magic, undocumented mimeType? I was hoping for something like: [Embed source="../../audio/wibble.wav" mimeType="audio/wav"] ...but I get no transcoder registered for mimeType 'audio/wav' It's possible to embed wav or other format as an octet-stream and parse at runtime, but that's pretty heavy handed I think. I'm surprised that even though the Flash IDE can embed uncompressed sound data, [Embed] cannot, given that the swf spec can contain uncompressed sound data. Any takers?
