Migrate style from TabItem to TabHeader

Good day! I have a TabControl with TabItems that have been customized via a control template. I know that I need to migrate the control styling to a tabHeader controlTemplate, but I am unsure how to do that. I can't seem to do template binding for the content of the tabheader. Any help would be appreciated.

Ajax UpdatePanels SetFocus issue

I set the AutoPostback property of a textbox to True so I can process the TextChanged event on the server and, based on what they typed in the textbox, appropriately display a message in an update panel. The problem is, when the partial screen refresh is performed, no control on the screen has focus. 99% of the time, when the text in the textbox is changed, it is because the user has tabbed forward, and so, to limit the disruption in the lost of focus, I perform a "Focus" call on teh next control in the tab sequence. For the most part, this works OK, but of course, is disputive if the user is tabbing in the reverse order or has used the mouse to set the focus to another control. In these situations, the focus would be set to the next control even though the user was trying to set focus elsewhere. OK, that sucks. Now what I consider the bigger problem with calling the focus method on the server: In IE, it works OK, but in Mozilla Firefox and Chrome, setting the focus causes a repositioning of the scroll bar, even though none is necessary because the control is already in view. I realize that I could switch to doing AJAX web service calls, but these darn Updae Panels are so convenient if used in moderation. is there anyway to use updatepanels and not have these focus/scroll issues?

Mac vs. Windows Browser Font Height Rendering Issue

I'm using a custom font and the @font-face tag. In Windows, everything looks great, regardless of whether it's Firefox, Chrome, or IE. On Mac, it's a different story. For some reason, the Mac font renderer thinks the font is a lot shorter than it is. If you look at what it is selecting, you'll see that that part has been centered, instead of the full height of the font. Is there anyway to fix this rather large discrepancy?

Easy question, it is valid to have overlapping spans in html? Example: <span id="1">This is <span id="2"> some text </span> some other text </span> ^ ^ End1 End2 Edit: I see now that the spans closing tag would be ambiguous about which one it is closing, and that first </span> would close span id = 2, not 1 like I intended. My problem is, I have a block of text which I'm trying to highlight based on what the mouse hovers over. This block of text is composed of sections, some of which "overlap" eachother. I'm trying to use some jQuery and HTML to present this document so when I hover over the sections, the appropriate one will be highlighted. So, in my example above, the first span is meant to be ended with the first span close tag, and the second span is meant to be ended to with the second span close tag. This is because of the semantics of my document, these are two overlapping segments. I want it so when I hover to the left, it will only highlight up to span id = 1 and the first span close, if I hover between the two "overlapping" spans, it will highlight both of them, and if I hover to the right, it will highlight from span id=2 to the last span close. However, I'm starting to think this isn't possible. Is there any way I can distinguish segments of text in HTML that allows overlapping? So my jQuery script that highlights when I hover over different spans will highlight the correct portions. Should I alternate between div's and spans? Would that disambiguate what I'm closing then and allow me the do the proper highlighting with my jQuery hover script? I'm wondering about more than 2 segments overlapping now. Browser relative positioning with jQuery and CutyCapt

I've been using CutyCapt to take screen shots of several web pages with great success. My challenge now is to paint a few dots on those screen shots that represent where a user clicked. CutyCapt goes through a process of resizing the web page to the scroll width before taking a screen shot. That's extremely useful because you only get content and not much (if any) of the page's background. My challenge is trying to map a user's mouse X coordinates to the screen shot. Obviously users have different screen resolutions and have their browser window open to different sizes. The image below shows 3 examples with the same logo. Assume, for example, that the logo is 10 pixels to the left edge of the content area (in red). In each of these cases, and for any resolution, I need a JavaScript routine that will calculate that the logo's X coordinate is 10. Again, the challenge (I think) is differing resolutions. In the center-aligned examples, the logo's position, as measured from the left edge of the browser (in black), differs with changing browser size. The left-aligned example should be simple as the logo never moves as the screen resizes. Can anyone think of a way to calculate the scrollable width of a page? In other words, I'm looking for a JavaScript solution to calculate the minimum width of the browser window before a horizontal scroll bar shows up. Thanks for your help!

How to make jquery hover event fire repeatedly.

I have a infinite carousel that I want to move when I hover over the next and previous buttons. Right now hover only fires this once. I want the carousel to continue moving while the mouse is within the next or previous buttons. OpenGL Tearing Problem

Hi, I'm using win32 and opengl and I have a window set up with the projection at glOrtho of the window's coordinates. I have double buffering enabled, tested it with glGet as well. My program always seems to tear any primitives that I try to draw on it if it's being constantly translated. Here is my OpenGL initialization function: glClearColor(0.0f, 0.0f, 0.0f, 1.0f); glViewport(0, 0, 640, 480); glMatrixMode(GL_PROJECTION); glLoadIdentity(); glOrtho(0, 640, 0, 480, 0, 100); glMatrixMode(GL_MODELVIEW); glLoadIdentity(); glDrawBuffer(GL_BACK); glLoadIdentity(); And this is my rendering function, gMouseX and gMouseY are the coordinates of the mouse: glClear(GL_COLOR_BUFFER_BIT | GL_DEPTH_BUFFER_BIT); glTranslatef(gMouseX, gMouseY, 0.0f); glColor3f(0.5f, 0.5f, 0.5f); glBegin(GL_TRIANGLES); glVertex2f(0.0f, 128.0f); glVertex2f(128.0f, 0.0f); glVertex2f(0.0f, 0.0f); glEnd(); SwapBuffers(hDC); The same tearing problem occurs regardless of how often the rendering function runs. Restart list numbering in word for each new list created

Hi, I am exporting content from a jsp page into MS Word using javascript. When the user is in Word there is a table with 10 rows and 2 columns, A & B. The user creates an ordered list in row 1, column A like this: 1 dog 2 cat 3 mouse if the user then creates a second list in row 1 column B is turns out like this: 4 car 5 truck 6 bike instead of: 1 car 2 truck 3 bike Word is set up to continue the numbering in lists from prior lists automatically. I know this can be reset easily but the users dont want to have to do this. They want the numbering of any potential lists created to restarted at 1. when the document is exported into Word and opened in front of them. So this must be set up in the javasctipt code or using a style or something prior to getting into Word. This is what I dont know how to do. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks, Feena.

Using jQuery tools from within GWT -- is there a way to allow exchanges?

I have a GWT web-app with a nearly full page Google map window. Inside the the map, I have infowindows which include links. What I want to do is use jquery tools overlays (http://flowplayer.org/tools/overlay/apple.html) to open the overlay and display it on top of the map once the link inside the info window is clicked. Now, the link source is generated dynamically, and it is hosted on a different server, so i have to open it in an iframe and set the source of the iframe before it opens. this seems simple enough since i only have 1 iframe on the page: function changeSource(url){ $("#menuIFrame").attr("src",url); } To call this before opening the overlay (which is done on mouse release), i create the following element in the google maps infowindow via GWT: <a href="http://whatever.com/menu/" onClick="changeSource('http://whatever.com/menu/');" rel=#menu"> View menu </a> Jquery tools works by opening whatever div has the id assigned to the value of 'rel', but because i have my javascript/jquery on my LandingPage.html in GWT, there appears to be some sort of disconnect between the two because the changeSource function is never called AND the overlay is never added to the window. Here's my app: http://truxmapper.appspot.com/ As you can see, the other overlays will work fine, but once you click an infowindow and try to view the menu, it will simply use the href to open the url in that window. Does anyone know of a solution that will allow me to accomplish my goal? Thanks!

SWT Drag and Drop support for Text widget

I've written an application recently using SWT. In one of its dialog box, I have a few widgets, one of which is Text, which is designed to support DND with other widgets. I've first added DND support for the 2 Tree widgets on the same dialog box (both drag source and drop target). Before I added DND support for that Text widget, I noticed that on Linux platform (gtk), SWT Text widget automatically get drag and drop support. That is, I can already drag from the other Tree widgets and drop on this Text (at any position to inserted there), as well as selecting and dragging any text from this Text to other Tree or Text widget. However, this is only working on Linux platform but not on Windows. The same program, if running on Windows, will not have any DND support for that Text widget (Tree widgets of course have DND support since I specifically write for them). So here's what I want to achieve on Windows as well: drop text at any position in Text widget. before dropping and while hovering, able to see the caret position clearly where the intended position to drop. caret position should move along with the mouse cursor. support multi-line in Text widget SOLUTION: DropTarget target = new DropTarget(sytledText, DND.DROP_MOVE | DND.DROP_COPY); target.setTransfer(new Transfer[] { TextTransfer.getInstance() }); target.addDropListener(new StyleTextDropTargetEffect(sytledText)); Use StyledText instead of Text widget Use StyledTextDropTargetEffect (or extend it) and add it as dr op listener

VS2010: Why do my custom Toolbox tabs and contained controls keep disappearing?

This is how I expected the toolbox to work: Let's say I add a custom Tab to the Toolbox called "Ajaxtoolkit." To add controls to the new tab, I right mouse click and select "Choose Items" and browse to a file, Ajaxtoolkit.dll, that is of a particular version number. I would expect that when I save and reopen the solution, that the Ajax Toolkit custom tab would still be in my Toolbox and that it would contain the same controls that were there last time, the controls that were in the dll that I referenced when the controls were added. If I created a brand new web app, I (possibly) wouldn't expect to see the same Ajax Toolkit custom tab. However, I could perform the same steps as above and add a "Ajax Toolkit" tab and perhaps, this time, select a DIFFERENT VERSION of the tookit, and the state of the toolkit would be retained with each solution file. Another possibility would be for the original Ajaxtoolkit to be retained when the 2nd web solution is created, and perhaps, if I wanted to mix versions of the toolkit across diffreent web sites in my solution, I should start naming my custom toolkit tabs with version specific names like "Ajaxtoolkit 4.0," etc. ...But instead, the Ajaxtoolkit tab disappears when I close VS2010 and reopen it. Why? Is this desirable behavior or a bug?

jQuery: On form input focus, show div. hide div on blur (with a caveat)

Hi, I am able to make a hidden div show/hide when an input field is in focus/blur using the following code: $('#example').focus(function() { $('div.example').css('display','block'); }).blur(function() { $('div.example').fadeOut('medium'); }); The problem is I want div.example to continue to be visible when the user is interacting within this div. E.g. click, or highlighting the text etc. within div.example. However div.example fades out whenever the input is not in focus and the mouse is interacting with elements within the div. The html code for the input and div elements is as follows: <p> <label for="example">Text:</label> <input id="example" name="example" type="text" maxlength="100" /> <div class="example">Some text...<br /><br />More text...</div> </p> How do I make it such that the div.example only disappears when the user clicks outside the input and/or div.example? I tried experimenting with focusin/focusout to check the focus on <p> but that didn't work either. Would it matter that div.example is positioned directly below the input field #example using jQuery? Windows Forms: Unable to Click to Focus a MaskedTextBox in a Non TopLevel Form

Like the title says, I've got a Child form being shown with it's TopLevel property set to False and I am unable to click a MaskedTextBox control that it contains (in order to bring focus to it). I can bring focus to it by using TAB on the keyboard though. The child form contains other regular TextBox controls and these I can click to focus with no problems, although they also exhibit some odd behavior: for example if I've got a value in the Textbox and I try to drag-click from the end of the string to the beginning, nothing happens. In fact I can't use my mouse to move the cursor inside the TextBox's text at all (although they keyboard arrow keys work). I'm not too worried about the odd TextBox behavior, but why can't I activate my MaskedTextBox by clicking on it? Attaching an event to an Iframe that contains more iframes

I have an editor which is in my window that contains a wrapping iframe and then 2 more iframes inside like (the HTML inside the <iframe> element is inserted via write() in JS, not hardcoded like this): <iframe class="parent"> <div class="wrapper"> <iframe class="editor"></iframe> <iframe class="previewer"></iframe> </div> </iframe> One is an editor, the other is a previewer. The first one that contains the two (we'll call this the parent) has an eventListener for mousemove attached to it, but nothing is firing. If i add a 5px border for example, the event will fire when I move my mouse on the border of the parent, but not when i hover over the middle which contains the editor or previewer (previewer is display:none while the editor is visible, and vice versa). So, the blue area in the following i can mousemove, but the rest I can't. It's most likely because of the stacking order, but how can I attach an event to fire on the entire frame? I need mousemove because on mousemove I display a menu in the bottom right. I want the same menu to display whether or not the editor or the previewer is visible.

I've implemented a plotter using wxGraphicsContext. The development was done using wxGTK, and the graphics was very fast. Then I switched to Windows (XP) using wxWidgets 2.9.0. And the same code is extremely slow. It takes about 350 ms to render a frame. Since the user is able to drag the plotter with the mouse to navigate it feels very sluggish with such a slow update rate. I've tried to implement some parts using wxDC and benchmarked the difference. With wxDC the code runs just about 100 times faster. As far as I know both Cairo and GDI+ are implemented in software at this point, so there's no real reason Cairo should be so much faster than GDI+. Am I doing something wrong? Or is the GDI+ implementation just not up on par with Cairo? One small note: I'm rendering to a wxBitmap now, with the wxGraphicsContext created from a wxMemoryDC. This is to avoid flicker on XP, since double buffering doesn't work there.

Loading Native library to external Package in Eclipse not working. is it a Bug?

I was about to report a but to Eclipse, but I was thinking to give this a chance here first: If I add an external package, the application cannot find the referenced native library, except in the case specified at the below: If my workspace consists of a single project, and I import an external package 'EX_package.jar' from a folder outside of the project folder, I can assign a folder to the native library location via: mouse over package - right click - properties - Native Library - Enter your folder. This does not work. In runtime the application does not load the library, System.mapLibraryName(Path) also does not work. Further more, if I create a User Library, and add the package to it and define a folder for the native library it still does not. If it works for you then I have a major bug since it does not work on my computer I test this in any combination I could think of, including adding the path to the windows PATH parameter, and so many other ways I can't even start to remember, nothing worked, I played with this for hours and had a colleague try to assist me, but we both came up empty. Further more, if I have a main project that is dependent on few other projects in my workspace, and they all need to use the same 'EX_package.jar' I MUST supply a HARD COPY INTO EACH OF THEM, it will ONLY (I can't stress the ONLYNESS, I got freaked out by this) work if I have a hard copy of the package in ALL of the project folders that the main project has a dependency on, and ONLY if I configure the Native path in each of them!! This also didn't do the trick. please tell me there is a solution to this, this drives me nuts... Thanks, Adam Zehavi.

Android Plugin in Eclipse 3.5 on Ubuntu 64bit got problems with properties

Hi there! I got a huge problem with the Android Development Tools ADT running in Eclipse Galileo (3.5.1) on Ubuntu 9.10, 64bit. On this platform, I do not manage to see any property edit dialogs for layout properties. E.g. the one where you can select a string resource ID for text fields, or a drawable ID for image fields or backgrounds. Whenever I click on the ... button next to the property value - nothing happens, except this button disappears. Properties with a list of possible values, e.g. "wrap_content" or "fill_parent" are displayed in a dropdown box directly in the properties field. On a different system I work in a Windows environment with Eclipse 3.4 and the same ADT: no problems whatsoever, everything works fine, the dialogs come perfectly. Does anyone know what to do here? Where's the problem? Why does Eclipse not tell me that something goes wrong? Thanks! NEW DISCOVERIES: I found out that it might not even be an Android problem, but a general Eclipse problem that I can see with all version (Ganymede, Galileo, Helios) on my Linux (Ubuntu) system. It must be a simple UI problem: the button with ... next to the values does not receive the mouse click!! I managed to see the appropriate dialogs to edit the property values by doubleclicking the button - crazy, strange, ugly behavior! But why on earth does nobody else know about this problem - I cannot find anything else on the net about it! Could it be related to this strange "GDK native window problem" on Gnome? HELP!

jquery timout funcation not work properly

jQuery event "looping"

Hi I´m trying to code a tooltip (Yes I know, I have my reasons to avoid plugins in this case) in jQuery. Whe I show the tooltip and leave the mouse in the same place the show and hide repeats forever. It´s like the element triggers the hover event again and again and again.
