  • Access control of page in php

    Hello, I want to control the access in php website. I have a solution right now with switch case. <?php $obj = $_GET['obj']; switch ($obj) { case a: include ('a.php'); break; default: include ('f.php'); } ?> But when i have so many pages, it becomes difficult to manage them. Do you have better solutions? Right now, i develop the application using php4. And i want to use php5. Do you have any suggestions when i develop it using php5? Thanks

  • Updating a popup window from source page

    I have a list of people wrapped in a-tags with onclick for opening a popup window. That popup window contains a previous and next button that invoker a function in the parent window to get the previous/next a-tag and execute the onclick for it. nextAnchor.onclick(); This should update the popup window with the new persons info, but it doesn't update. Adding an alert("") right after makes it update. What i found searching is something about having to leaving the session before JavaScript will update the display and they suggested using setTimeout. Problem is i'm calling on a DOM element and i can't send it in to the setTimeout, so i ended up with setTimeout('eval("'+nextAnchor.getAttribute("onClick")+'")',10); So is there another way to make it update or a way of making the setTimeout use the onclick of a DOM element or is this an acceptable solution even though it uses eval?

  • Is there a way to optimise finding text items on a page (not regex)

    After seeing several threads rubbishing the regexp method of finding a term to match within an HTML document, I've used the Simple HTML DOM PHP parser (http://simplehtmldom.sourceforge.net/) to get the bits of text I'm after, but I want to know if my code is optimal. It feels like I'm looping too many times. Is there a way to optimise the following loop? //Get the HTML and look at the text nodes $html = str_get_html($buffer); //First we match the <body> tag as we don't want to change the <head> items foreach($html->find('body') as $body) { //Then we get the text nodes, rather than any HTML foreach($body->find('text') as $text) { //Then we match each term foreach ($terms as $term) { //Match to the terms within the text nodes $text->outertext = str_replace($term, '<span class="highlight">'.$term.'</span>', $text->outertext); } } } For example, would it make a difference to determine check if I have any matches before I start the loop maybe?

    You can serve static files with Sinatra by placing them in public/ (by default) -- I have an index.html in there at the moment, but how can I make the root point to that file without having to parse it as a template? To be clear, I can access /index.html successfully, and I'd like to route / to be the same static file, but without redirecting. Any idea how to do this?

    Hi, Although this seems like something very basic, but no matter what I tried I couldn't get my head around it. Basically I want a html form where a user types in their ID number in an input text box and when they hit the submit button it displays their email address which is their company ID number @ company.com, such as below <form action=""> ID Number: <input type="text" name="idnumber" /><br/> <input type="submit" value="Whats my email address" /> </form> <p>Your email address is 'idnumber'@email.com</p> Can this even be done using html or would I need to use Javascript or PHP for it?     I am having application.html where I used jquery.validate.js and it works fine and submit my data to process.php. But I want if there is an error generated by jquery.validate.js then I know the how many errors generated by validate.js in application.php. I am going to implement if there are number of errors generated then uploading function will be disable. If there is no error generated then uploading function will work. I hope this is simple question but I dont know about jquery much. If you have solution then please share it with me. Cheers!!!

After the user makes some selection and hits the "run" button I pass off the processing to a dll written in C# but what I want is a way to periodically send information back to the client so they can see what's going on like how many records have been processed and things like that. So I would like some help here,how could I modify my "matches" variable,to have buttons also shown inside the dialog. Thanks.

    Hi, I want to store a number of url patterns in my django model which a user can provide parameters to which will create a url. For example I might store these 3 urls in my db where %s is the variable parameter provided by the user: www.thisissomewebsite.com?param=%s www.anotherurl/%s/ www.lastexample.co.uk?param1=%s&fixedparam=2 As you can see from these examples the parameter can appear anywhere in the string and not in a fixed position. I have 2 models, one holds the urls and one holds the variables: class URLPatterns(models.Model): pattern = models.CharField(max_length=255) class URLVariables(models.Model): pattern = models.ForeignKey(URLPatterns) param = models.CharField(max_length=255) What would be the best way to generate these urls by replacing the %s with the variable in the database. would it just be a simple replace on the string e.g: urlvariable = URLVariable.objects.get(pk=1) pattern = url.pattern url = pattern.replace("%s", urlvariable.param) or is there a better way? This same markup works in IE9. Is it due to the HTML5 doctype?
