How can I make a Jeditable (jQuery) span activate editing on more than one event?

For the jQuery extension Jeditable, one of the parameters that can be specified is which DOM event will turn a div/span/... into a text input/textarea/... I would like to have more than one event serve as a trigger; that is, I would like either a click event or a contextmenu event to turn a span into an in-place edit area. Is there a graceful way to do this without forking Jeditable? --edit-- An example of code specifying the event is below. The parameter is optional, defaulting to a regular click. $(".edit_rightclick").editable("/ajax/save", { cancel: "Cancel", submit: "OK", tooltip: "Right click to edit.", event: "contextmenu", }); Calling twice, once for the regular click event with the event unspecified, and one for the contextmenu event (right-click if there are no switched mouse buttons or anything like that) does not seem to produce the intended effect of an element becoming editable in place on a click from either mouse button.

Modify Address of asmx Method Call

When I'm making asmx web service calls from Silverlight, is there any way to have the (generated) SoapClient objects modify the address that they call the service on? Specifically, I'd like to tack on a QueryString value onto each call that the service makes. So if I have DataService.SilverlightServiceSoapClient C = new DataService.SilverlightServiceSoapClient(); Is there any way to do something like: C.Address += "?Foo=Bar"; Which would allow me to, from my WebMethod, say: HttpContext.Current.Request.QueryString["foo"]; Obviously I can modify my WebMethods to take this value in as a parameter, but I'd like to avoid doing that if possible.

Address calling class

I have an abstract class Moveable with the method abstract void move() which is extended by the class Bullet and the abstract class Character, and Character is extended by the class Survivor and the class Zombie. In Survivor and Bullet the move() method doesnt require any parameters while in the class Zombie the move() method depends on the actual position of the survivor. The survivor and multiple zombies are created in the class Gui. I wanted to access the survivor in Zombie - what's the best way of doing this? In Gui i wrote a method getSurvivor() but i don't see how to access this method in Zombie? I am aware that as a workaround i could just pass a [Survivor survivor] as parameter in move() and ignore it in Bullet and Survivor, but that feels so ... bad practice.

Parameterise Service start option in WiX installer

I have a ServiceInstall component in a WiX installer where I have a requirement to either start auto or demand depending on parameters passed into the MSI. So the Xml element in question is <ServiceInstall Vital="yes" Name="My Windows Service" Type="ownProcess" Account="[SERVICEUSERDOMAIN]\[SERVICEUSERNAME]" DisplayName="My Service" Password="[SERVICEUSERPASSWORD]" Start="demand" Interactive="no" Description="Something interesting here" Id="Service" ErrorControl="ignore"></ServiceInstall> WiX will not allow using a PArameter for the Start attribute, so Im stuck with completely suplicating the component with a condition, eg/ <Component Id="ServiceDemand" Guid="{E204A71D-B0EB-4af0-96DB-9823605050C7}" > <Condition>SERVICESTART="demand"</Condition> ... and completely duplicating the whole component, with a different setting for Start and a different Condition. Anyone know of a more elegant solution? One where I don;t have to maintain 2 COmponents whjich do exactly the same thing except the Attribute for Start?

What is XcvPort (used in OpenPrinter function)

I'm usin the OpenPrinter function and the first parameter the function gets called "pPrinterName" and that's it's MSDN description: [in] Pointer to a null-terminated string that specifies the name of the printer or print server, the printer object, the XcvMonitor, or the XcvPort. For a printer object use: PrinterName,Job xxxx. For an XcvMonitor, use: ServerName,XcvMonitor MonitorName. For an XcvPort, use: ServerName,XcvPort PortName. Obviously I'm interested in the bold part. What exactly is XcvPort? I know it seems like a question of lazy person but I really couldn't find info abou this concept. If I would like to open a printer on port ABC I should write: "\\MySrever,XcvPort ABC"? Thank you for your answers!

Okay I'm very new to C# and i'm trying to create a little website using ASP MVC2. I want to create my own authorization attribute. but i need to pass some values if this is possible. For example: [CustomAuthorize(GroupID = Method Parameter?] public ActionResult DoSomething(int GroupID) { return View(""); } I want to authorize the access to a page. but it depends on the value passed to the controller. So the authorization depends on the groupID. Is this possible to achieve this in any way?. Thanks in advance.

How do set default values in django for an HttpRequest.GET?

I have a webpage that displays data based on a default date. The user can then change their view of the data by slecting a date with a date picker and clicking a submit button. I already have a variable set so that if no date is chosen, a default date is used.... so what's the problem? The problem comes if the user trys to type in the url page without a parameter... like so: http://mywebpage/viewdata (example A) instead of http://mywebpage/viewdata?date= (example B) I tried using: if request.method == 'GET': but apparently, even example A still returns true. I'm sure I'm doing some obvious beginner's mistake but I'll ask anyway... Is there a simpler way to handle example A other than passing the url to a string and checking the string for "?date="?

What is the current standard for authenticating Http requests (REST, Xml over Http)?

The standard should solve the following Authentication challenges like- Replay attacks Man in the Middle Plaintext attacks Dictionary attacks Brute force attacks Spoofing by counterfeit servers I have already looked at Amazon Web Services and that is one possibility. More importantly there seems to be two most common approaches: Use apiKey which is encoded in a similar fashion like AWS but is a post parameter to a request Use Http AuthenticationHeader and use a similar signature like AWS. Signature is typically obtained by signing a date stamp with an encrypted shared secret. This signature is therefore passed either as an apiKey or in the Http AuthenticationHeader. I would like to know weigh both the options from the community, who may have used one or more and would also like to explore other options that I am not considering. I would also use HTTPS to secure my services.

failure on creating a Scikits.TimeSeries object

Hi All I am trying to create a scikit.timeseries object starting from 2 datetime objects. If I understood correctly it should be possible to create a scikits.timeseries starting from datetime objects. I try the following code but it says that Insufficient parameters. The 2 datetime differs for few microseconds. In this case what should be the value for freq parameter? Is what I am trying allowed? In theory, since timeseries can be based on datetime objects it should be possible to hanlde up to microsecond , is this correct? I think that this is not really clear to me. It returns 10..... 8...... 9...... any suggestions?

SSRS Dynamic Returning Dataset Collection Field in Expression

I wrote a custom assembly to take a parameter value from the report and return a field from the dataset collection. My assembly returns the correct fields!name.value, but it shows me the string representation of it. How can I get it to resolve as the actual fields!name.value to display the actual data in the dataset? If I enter fields!name.value in manually it works fine showing me the value. If I resolve it with my custom code it display "fields!name.value" to me in the cell.

Do I have to use Stored Procedures to get query level security or can I still do this with Dynamic S

I'm developing an application where I'm concerned about locking down access to the database. I know I can develop stored procedures (and with proper parameter checking) limit a database user to an exact set of queries to execute. It's imperative that no other queries other then the ones I created in the stored procedures be allowed to execute under that user. Ideally even if a hacker gained access to the database connection (which only accepts connections from certain computers) they would only be able to execute the predefined stored procedures. Must I choose stored procedures for this or can I use Dynamic Sql with these fine grain permissions?

Inject a EJB into a JSF converter with JEE6

Hi, I have a stateless EJB that acceses my database. I need this bean in a JSF 2 converter to retreive an entity object from the String value parameter. I'm using JEE6 with Glassfish V3 @EJB annotation does not work and gets a NPE, because it's in the faces context and it has not access to the ejb context. My question is: Is it still possible to Inject this bean (With a @Resource or other annotation, a JNDI lookup,...), or do i need a workaround? Tool for response time analysis on JBoss server?

I am running a pretty high traffic cluster of JBoss servers serving REST requests and I am interested in tools reading the access logs in Tomcat format (with %D parameter) to provide a detailed analysis of the response time on a per-call basis. Ideally this tool would generate a chart showing the progression of the response time throughout the day, hour per hour, then a weekly view with averages on the day, and monthly with average on the weeks (CACTI style). I've looked for such tools and couldn't find anything. Is any of you guys aware of something close to that before I start writing my own? I haven't looked into CACTI extensions yet, but that be an option?

Run batch file when argument contains quotes and spaces (from .NET framework)

I have a bat file which sets some environment variables, and then executes a command on the command line. I want to replace the hard coded command with one passed in via a parameter. So: :: Set up the required environment SET some_var=a SET another_var=b CALL some.bat :: Now call the command passed into this batch file %1 The problem is that the command is complex, and doesn't escape cleanly. It looks like this: an.exe -p="path with spaces" -t="some text" -f="another path with spaces" I'm trying to call the .bat from a .NET framework app, using: Dim cmd as String = "the cmd" System.Diagnostics.Process.Start( thebat.exe, cmd ) but I can't seem to get the escapes to work correctly. Can someone tell me how the string cmd should be entetered to get the command passed into the bat file as an argument correctly?

I was wondering how to do this when the objects in question inherit from a common base class with a type parameter. public abstract class Rule<T> { ... } public abstract class TimeRule extends Rule<XTime> { ... } public abstract class LocationRule extends Rule<Location> { ... } public abstract class IntRule extends Rule<Integer> { ... } .... Callback for When jqGrid Finishes Reloading?

Hi, I am using the jqGrid plug-in and at one point I need to refresh the grid and set the selected row to match the record that I am showing in detail on another section of the page. I have the following code but it does not work: $("#AllActions").trigger("reloadGrid").setSelection(selectedRow); The selectedRow parameter comes from an event handler that gets called when the data is changed and the grid needs to be updated. I'm pretty sure that the problem is that the grid is not loaded when the selection is being set, because if I put a call to alert() between the calls to trigger() and setSelection(), it works. Displaying a collection of controls in a specific way in WPF

I have a collection of controls "MyCollection" wich changes in the Runtime. And I have to follow some constraints for that, for example: If my parameter "MyCollection.Count = 4" the property "NumberOfcolumns" will have the value 2, in order to create new Lines, and show the controls Two per Two. Windows Mobile 6.5 SndPlayAsync - C# wrapper?

Hello I'm implementing mp3 playback on Windows Mobile 6.5. I need to use SndPlayAsync API function since I don't want to block calling thread until the file is played (SndPlaySync blocks until the audio file is playing). Unfortunately the SndPlayAsync method takes sound handle instead of sound file path as parameter so there's a need to open the handle before and release of it after playback. The problem is that I don't have any information about the playback completion in this API. Did anybody use a C# wrapper for this API? Where can I get one? I've looked up OPENNETCF but they seem not to support this API. Regards

Parameter ds is of type OtherDLL.BaseObj which is defined in a referenced ActiveX DLL. ds.Data is a variant 2-dimensional array (one dimension carries the data, the other one carries the column index. ds.Columns is a Collection of columns in 'ds.Data`. Assuming there are at least 400 rows of data and 25 columns, this code takes about 15 seconds to run on my machine. Kind of unbelievable. However if I copy the variant array to a local variable, so: function Foo(ds as OtherDLL.BaseObj) dim lngRowIndex as long dim lngColIndex as long dim v as variant v = ds.Data for lngRowIndex = 1 to ubound(v, 2) for lngColIndex = 1 to ds.Columns.Count Debug.Print v(lngRowIndex, lngColIndex) next next end function the entire thing processes in barely any noticeable time (basically close to 0). Play bitmap animation list in reverse order?

I have a bitmap animation defined in XML, to open a door. I also need to animate closing the door, which contains the same frames but in reverse order. I don't want to create a second XML for this. The only reverse parameter I found in the documentation is related with repeating, and this doesn't apply, since I want the opening animation to finish when the door is closed and not continue to closing animation. I also found some threads about using a custom interpolator, but can I use / makes sense with a bitmap animation? How can I play the XML animation in reverse order?
