• Normal check interval and re try check interval doesnot work in nagios

  I have configured nagios in my environment and i have used the following setting for a service which monitors the disk space for every 10 min , Normal check interval =10 min retry check interval = 1 min Maximum attempts =2 But accoring to this values i should recieve my first alert after 10 min and then from there for every 1 min. But in my case i am recieving my first alert and then next alert comes to me after 20 min. Can some one help me in fixing this.

• Windows Server 2008 Stnd - Wins Issue Possibly???

  Currently we have a freshly setup Windows Server 2008 server acting as DNS and AD,Print and File server. I setup VPN and routing services and was able to successfully connect through VPN however I can't resolve any host using NETBios names. Only IP addresses. Sounds like I need to add a role for WINS but since this is a LIVE environment I'm a little hesitant about adding and removing additions to the box. What would I need to do to resolve this issue?

But in some environment the 'dmesg' shows segfault messages related to my application, but application uptime is much older. Can segfault be suppressed and application doesn't receive signal?   Is there a way to change the background color in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 when the current folder being displayed meets a certain condition? Or is there a way I can change the icons of the files and folders within that folder so it's distinctive--similar to how Tortoise SVN does it for code checked out from a repository? Why? I'd like to do this for a deployment directory on a live server so users don't accidentally commit code to a certain environment. Like myself. :-)

• How do I keep gnome-terminal width from changing when I use "reset"

  When I use reset in gnome-terminal (bash, Ubuntu 9.04), the window width resets, though the height does not. On my personal computer, this does not happen in xterm or konsole. On my work computer (RHEL 5 or maybe 4), this does not happen in any terminals, including gnome-terminal. I assume there is some environment variable that controls this, but my .bashrc at work is hundreds of lines long, so I'm not sure where to look in there.

It would be a light server (with a graphical environment) useful for print server, file server etc. I've tried to install crunchbang linux but it tell me that my processor not support cx8 and cmov instructions.   Hi, We are moving away from our Exchange environment on a hosted server to one managed in-house, and I was wondering how to have the hosted Exchange forward all email received to the new server - the servers are not on the same network, and both have the same users setup.   I'm working in a environment of 40 machines, I've already installed snmp in 38 machines normally, but 2 of them appear to have been installed with a customized windows image, there is no OptionalFeatures, there is no ocsetup.exe, so I could not able to install SNMP. I tried to copy OptionalFeatures and ocsetup from another machine, but it don't work. For now I cannot simple format these two computer, it's possible to install it using another way? • secure data transport between web server and database server

  I asked this question in stackoverflow and it was suggested to try here so here goes... I'm planning on provisioning a web server and database server in a server farm environment. They will be in the same network but not in the same domain, both windows server 2008 and the database server is sql server 2008.
