  i want to connect odbc connection for my android application. Here in my program i'm using oracle database 11g and my table name is sample. After i run the program close the emulator open the database the values could not be stored. • VB .Net - Reflection: Reflected Method from a loaded Assembly executes before calling method. Why?

  When I am loading an Assembly dynamically, then calling a method from it, I appear to be getting the method from Assembly executing before the code in the method that is calling it. It does not appear to be executing in a Serial manner as I would expect. Can anyone shine some light on why this might be happening. Below is some code to illustrate what I am seeing, the code from the some.dll assembly calls a method named PerformLookup. For testing I put a similar MessageBox type output with "PerformLookup Time: " as the text. • PrinterSettings.IsValid always returning false

  In our code, we have to give the users a list of printers to choose from. The user then chooses a printer and it is checked to verify it is valid before printing. On a windows 2003 server with IIS 6, this works fine. On a windows 2008 server with IIS 7, it fails each time impersonate is set to true. PrinterSettings printerSetting = new PrinterSettings(); printerSetting.PrinterName = ddlPrinterName.SelectedItem.Text; if (!printerSetting.IsValid) { lblMsg.Text = "Server Printer is not valid."; } else { lblMsg.Text = "Success"; } Each time this code is run, the "Server Printer is not valid" displays, only if impersonate is set to true. If impersonate is set to false, the success message is displayed. The impersonation user has full rights to the printer. Is there a way to catch the actual reason the printer is not valid? Is there some other 2008 setting I should check?

• Rails preventing duplicates in polymorphic has_many :through associations

  Is there an easy or at least elegant way to prevent duplicate entries in polymorphic has_many through associations? I've got two models, stories and links that can be tagged. I'm making a conscious decision to not use a plugin here. I want to actually understand everything that's going on and not be dependent on someone else's code that I don't fully grasp. To see what my question is getting at, if I run the following in the console (assuming the story and tag objects exist in the database already) s = Story.find_by_id(1) t = Tag.find_by_id(1) s.tags << t s.tags << t My taggings join table will have two entries added to it, each with the same exact data (tag_id = 1, taggable_id = 1, taggable_type = "Story"). That just doesn't seem very proper to me. So in an attempt to prevent this from happening I added the following to my Tagging model: before_validation :validate_uniqueness def validate_uniqueness taggings = Tagging.find(:all, :conditions => { :tag_id => self.tag_id, :taggable_id => self.taggable_id, :taggable_type => self.taggable_type }) if !taggings.empty? return false end return true end And it works almost as intended, but if I attempt to add a duplicate tag to a story or link I get an ActiveRecord::RecordInvalid: Validation failed exception. It seems that when you add an association to a list it calls the save! (rather than save sans !) method which raises exceptions if something goes wrong rather than just returning false. That isn't quite what I want to happen. I suppose I can surround any attempts to add new tags with a try/catch but that goes against the idea that you shouldn't expect your exceptions and this is something I fully expect to happen. Is there a better way of doing this that won't raise exceptions when all I want to do is just silently not save the object to the database because a duplicate exists?

  I have CSV file with sample data in this form : 220 30 255 0 0 Javascript 200 20 0 255 128 Thinking in java , where the first column is height, second thickness, next three are rgb values for color and last one is title. All need to be treated as separate variables. I have already written my own solution for this, but I'm wondering if there are no better/easier/shorter ways of doing this. Extracted data will then be used to create Book object, throw every Book into array of books and print it with swing. You can find out more information on the offreg.dll here: MSDN Currently, while attempted to create the hive using ORCreateHive, I receive the following error: "Managed Debugging Assistant 'PInvokeStackImbalance' has detected a problem. This is likely because the managed PInvoke signature does not match the unmanaged target signature.   I'm attempting to make a StateMachine execute some database action between states. So I have a "starting" state that uses CallExternalMethodActivity to call a "BeginExecuteNonQuery" function on an class decorated with ExternalDataExchangeAttribute. After that it uses a SetStateActivity to change to an "ending" state. The "ending" state uses a HandleExternalEventActivity to listen to a "EndExecuteNonQuery" event. I can step through the local service, into the "BeginExecuteNonQuery" function. I've tried to set "http proxy server" in AVD manager, but it didn't work. • Accessing an excel file throws OleDbException but keeps handle on file

  Really odd that I'd get an oledbexception but turns out that the file's handle is still with the original file. I've been searching through google and keep finding the same problem but no solutions. Connection String: "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;" + "Data Source=" + filePath + ";" + "Extended Properties=Excel 8.0;"; Note that it works on every other file except a particular excel file. Exception: System.Data.OleDb.OleDbException: No error information available: E_UNEXPECTED(0x8000FFFF).   Hi, i have a performance problem while inserting data to sqlce.I'm reading string and making inserts to My tables.In LU_MAM table,i insert 1000 records withing 8 seconds.After Mam tables i make some inserts but my largest table is CR_MUS.When i want to insert record into CR_MUS,it takes too much time.CR_MUS has 2000 records and insert takes 35 seconds.What can be reason?I use same logic in my insert functions.Do u have any idea?I use VS 2008 sp1. • Where to put a textfile I want to use in eclipse?

  hi there, I need to read a text file when I start my program. I'm using eclipse and started a new java project. In my project folder I got the "src" folder and the standard "JRE System Library"... I just don't know where to put the text file. I cannot use a "hard coded" path because the text file needs to be included with my app... I also tried to create a new folder like "Files" and use the pathe "Files/staedteliste.txt".. doesn't work too... • How can you handle cross-cutting conerns in JAX-WS without Spring or AOP? Handlers?

  I do have something more specific in mind, however: Each web service method needs to be wrapped with some boiler place code (cross cutting concern, yes, spring AOP would work great here but it either doesn't work or unapproved by gov't architecture group). • Detecting a Dispose() from an exception inside using block

There is any way that I can detect in the Dispose() method that it being called because of an exception instead of regular end of the closing block, so I can automate the rollback? I don´t want to manually add a try ... catch block, my objective is to use the using block as a logical safe transaction manager, so it commits to the database if the execution was clean or rollbacks if any exception occured. Do you have some thoughts on that?

All services will be the same, no matter what happens. However, if a customer wants to use Access, it will use a different data repository than if the customer wants to use SQL Server. I have StructureMap, and want to be able to do the following: Web project is unaffected. It's a web forms application that will only know about the services project and the dataobjects project. When a service is called, it will use StructureMap (by looking up the bootstrapper.cs file) to see which data repository to use.   Hello All! I'm embarking on a major project, but am stuck on a tiny issue at the very start. I'll try to be as concise as possible. I have a PHP script that will be echoing into the footer of the page (the last stuff before a bunch of s containing visible buttons and s containing hidden dialog boxes. The plan is to have the buttons float in the upper-right corner of corresponding s in the main content area of the page. i.e. - button-1 echoed into the footer will float in the corner of content-box-1, and will be tied to the hidden 'dialog-1'. I'll be using jQuery and jQuery UI Dialog throughout the page(s). I'm not sure if that's particularly relevant to this question, but thought it worth mentioning just in case. So my question, put simply, is how do I echo a Button 1 into the footer with PHP, but have it float in the upper-right corner (with maybe 5px margin) of Content 1 is full of content? A picture says a thousand words: As shown above, I want the little blue gear button things in the corner of content pieces, locked and loaded with hidden s containing dialog boxes. Again, the catch is that all buttons and hidden divs will be the very last items echoed into the page footer. I've found plenty of info on how to float divs on top of divs, but all the examples I saw showed the s in close proximity to each other in the page source; not with a hundred lines of source code between the two s I'm not sure if the solution is pure CSS, pure jQuery/jQueryUI or a combination of the two. • PHP Error handling in WordPress plugin

  I am a newbie to both PHP and Wordpress (but do ok in C#), and am struggling to understand the error handling in a custom plugin I am attempting to write. The basics of the plugin is to query an exsiting MSSQL database (note its not the standard MYSQL db...) and return the rows back to the screen. This was working well, but the hosting provider has taken my database offline, which led me to the error handling problem (which I thought was ok). The following code is failing to connect to the database (as expected), but puts an error onto the screen and stops the page processing. It does not even output the 'or die' error text.
