    I am trying to get the below linq query to return -1 if there isn't any current value. I was looking at this article on MSDN, here, and it seemed that DefaultIfEmpty() was what I wanted. Unfortunately, I am getting a The type arguments cannot be inferred from the usage. Try specifying the type arguments explicitly. error. I guess I am not sure what that means or what it is telling me to do.   • Use super class's address/pointer in initialization list

    context 1: class D : public B1, public B2{}; context 2: B2 takes B1 to initialize: B2( B1 * ) //B2's constructor my question is in D's initialization list: D::D() : B1(), B2( ? )... What should be in ? I don't want to put " (B1*)this " in the ? place, because it's no good to use "this" in initialization list. And since B1 part has been initialized, it makes sense to use it. What should I do ?

  • ASP.NET HTTPHandler not throwing exception when one is expected

    I have an HttpHandler class (implements IHttphandler) where the path defined for the handler in web.config is *.jpg. I am requesting a Jpg image in my page. Within the HTTP Handler I am writing to a file in the filesystem. By mistake I was trying to write to a non existant directory. This should have thrown an exception but the execution simply proceeds.Ofcourse no file is written. But if I give a proper directory the file is written correctly.Is there anything special about HttpHandler Exceptions. See part of the code public void ProcessRequest(HttpContext context){ File.WriteAllLines(context.Request.ApplicationPath+@"\"+"resul.log",new string[]{"Entered JPG Handler"}); If I put a breakpoint on the File.WriteAllLines statement and then step over it I can see an exception occurring.

Shouldn't be "firstViewController" be the same as [viewControllerClasses objectAtIndex:0]?

  • jQuery: tabs where the tab/content can be linked to

    My issue is simple. I have already implemented a tab system, and I'd probably spend more time implementing another one with the solution I need, than giving a shot at adapting the code I have, and learn something while asking :) My problem is that the tabs can't be linked to, I need to be able to link to a tab from another website or page, and have that tab get selected upon page load. ie: I have three tabs showing different products, by default tab 1 is active/selected when the page loads. From the home page I want to link to tab 2 but I can't link to tab 2 because it doesn't get selected. Not sure if that makes sense.     I have a small Java Web Application in which I am using Jersey 1.12 and the Hadoop 1.0.0 JAR file (hadoop-core-1.0.0.jar). When I deploy my application to my JBoss 5.0 server, the log file records the following error: SEVERE: Conflicting URI templates. The URI template / for root resource class org.apache.hadoop.hdfs.server.namenode.web.resources.NamenodeWebHdfsMethods and the URI template / transform to the same regular expression (/.*)? To make sure my code is not the problem, I have created a fresh web application that contains nothing but the Jersey and Hadoop JAR files along with a small stub.     While implementing a FIFO I have used the following structure: struct Node { T info_; Node* link_; Node(T info, Node* link=0): info_(info), link_(link) {} }; I think this a well known trick for lots of STL containers (for example for List). Is this a good practice? What it means for compiler when you say that Node has a member with a type of it's pointer? Is this a kind of infinite loop? And finally, if this is a bad practice, how I could implement a better FIFO. EDIT: People, this is all about implemenation. I am enough familiar with STL library, and know a plenty of containers from several libraries. Just I want to discuss with people who can gave a good implementation or a good advice.

  • Grails deploy on Tomcat6

    Hello, while trying to deploy a Grails application into tomcat6 I ran into some problems: I used the grails war command to build up a war, then copied it to var/lib/tomcat6/webapps and tried to restart the container. I had to change default Tomcat policy to skip security exceptions, since I couldn't access environment variable (like grails.env), then tried again but it gives me an exception related to instantiating something, but it's not clear where should I try to fix the error, according to tomcat6 logs the problem is: SEVERE: Exception sending context initialized event to listener instance of class org.codehaus.groovy.grails.web.context.GrailsC$ org.springframework.beans.factory.BeanCreationException: Error creating bean with name 'pluginManager' defined in ServletContext$ at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:619) Caused by: org.codehaus.groovy.grails.exceptions.NewInstanceCreationException: Could not create a new instance of class [Hiberna$ ... 1 more Caused by: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org.hibernate.cfg.Environment It seems like it's unable to load org.hibernate.cfg.Environment class. I checked the applicationContext.xml and it refers to grails.xml to search for plugins, in this last file I actually have HibernateGrailsPlugin. Where should I look to find if the plugin is present?

    I have a save function for my order entity that looks like this and it breaks on the sumbmitChanges line: public void SaveOrder ( Order order ) { if (order.OrderId == 0) orderTable.InsertOnSubmit(order); else if (orderTable.GetOriginalEntityState(order) == null) { orderTable.Attach(order); orderTable.Context.Refresh(RefreshMode.KeepCurrentValues , order); } orderTable.Context.SubmitChanges(); } The order entity contains two other entities; an Address entity and a credit card entity. Now i want these two entities to be null sometimes. Now my guess for why this is throwing an error is because that both of these entites that are inside order are null. If this is the case, How can I insert an new order into the database with both entities (Address and creditCard) being null.

    When using Get Info on movie files in the Finder, I've noticed that many movie files have an accessible "Duration" property under the More Info tab. Is there an easy way to access this data using Applescript? I've tried lines like "set theTime to (duration of aFile)", but it doesn't seem to be as simple as that. Ideally I'd like to access the movie duration via the Finder properties without having to actually open the file in QuickTime. Is this possible?     I am developing a bookmarklet that requires a specific version of jQuery be loaded on the page. When I have to dynamically insert a jQuery script tag to meet the requirments of the bookmarklet I want to wait for the onload or onreadystatechange event on the script tag before executing any function that requires jQuery. For some reason the onload and/or onreadystatechange events do not fire.     I can access the value like this: NSNumber* rotationZ = [myLayer valueForKeyPath:@"transform.rotation.z"]; But for some reason, if I try to KV-observe that key path, I get a compiler error. First, this is how I try to do it: [myLayer addObserver:self forKeyPath:@"transform.rotation.z" options:0 context:nil]; The compiler tells me: *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSUnknownKeyException', reason: '[ addObserver: forKeyPath:@"rotation.z" options:0x0 context:0x528890] was sent to an object that is not KVC-compliant for the "rotation" property.' what I don't get is, why I can access that z value by KVC key path, but not add an observer to it. Does this make sense? How else could I observe the z value of that matrix? I don't care about the other values of the matrix. Only the z rotation. Any other way to access and observe it?

    I have a NSManagedObjectContext in which I have a number of subclasses of NSManagedObjects such that some are containers for others. What I'd like to do is watch a top-level object to be notified of any changes to any of its properties, associations, or the properties/associations of any of the objects it contains. Using the context's 'hasChanges' doesn't give me enough granularity. The objects 'isUpdated' method only applies to the given object (and not anything in its associations). Is there a convenient (perhaps, KVO-based) was I can observe changes in a context that are limited to a subgraph?

  • Solve equation from string to result in C

    Hi, I would like to know if anyone has info or experience on how to do something which sounds simple but doesn't look like it when trying to program it. The idea is : give a string containing an equation, such as : "2*x = 10" for example (this is simple, but it could get very complex, such as sqrt(54)*35=x^2; and so on....) and the program would return x = 5 and possibly give a log of how he got there. Is this doable ? If so, does anyone have a lead ? For info there is this site (http://www.numberempire.com/equationsolver.php) which does the same thing in PHP, but isn't open source.   • 3D Screensaver interfering with WPF application (Windows XP)

    I have a fairly large application that uses WPF for its user interface. I recently found an unusual defect regarding 3D screensavers. The 3D screensavers 3D FlowerBox,3D Flying Objects,3D Pipes,3D Text causes 1 of my WPF windows to disappear when the screensaver activates. Other screensavers are fine. My application only encounters this problem on Windows XP. I have some experience with DirectX. When a 3D screensavers activates, the d3d device context will be switched to exclusive mode. I reckon that WPF has trouble restoring the device context when the device switches back to cooperative mode (hence why its only affecting windows XP) Has anyone seen such a scenario occur before ? Is there a remedy for the problem ? Windows XP SP3, DirectX 9.0c, .NET 3.5

    Hi guys! I have in a ListView with a ContextMenu, it has one CheckBox (the CheckBox has android:focusable="false") and one TextView per row, but you can hide the TextView in the preferences menu. After doing that, the CheckBox wasnt registering the ContextMenu, so of course, why not registerForContextMenu(cb) and unregisterForContextMenu(getListView())? Yes, i did that, but then, when when i call the delete command of onContextItemSelected, the app crashs. AdapterContextMenuInfo info=(AdapterContextMenuInfo)item.getMenuInfo(); db.deletarTarefa(info.id); So here i am, accepting ideias and help! :) Thanks

" enviado el " . $info['fecha'] . "</b2>"); That only a part of the code of course, the think is, Firefox and Chrome display the code above like this: that as you can see have the styles applied. But when i see the code from IE 8 (even 7 or 6) this is what you see: So, what do you think?
