    hi. I have a multiple file upload form(html5) and want to update my view as soon one of the images is transfered to my image server. Currently I upload the files with ajax and use response_to_parent to update my upload view when all images are transfered to the image server.     Hi, when I do the following def somefunction @texts = A.find_all_by_someid(someid) respond_to do |format| format.xml { render :xml => @texts } end end it gets the string from the db correctly, except if the string has leading whitespaces, it seems they are trimmed. Note: the whitespaces are there in the db correctly What can I do to conserve those whitespaces? Thanks

  • How to check total cache size using a program

    so I'm having some trouble creating a program to measure cache size in C. I understand the basic concept of going about this but I'm still having trouble figuring out exactly what I am doing wrong. Basically, I create an array of varying length (going by power of 2s) and access each element in the array and put it in a dummy variable. I go through the array and do this around 1000 times to negate the "noise" that would otherwise occur if I only did it once to get an accurate measurement for time. Then, I look for the size that causes a big jump in access time. Unfortunately, this is where I am having my problem, I don't see this jump using my code and clearly I am doing something wrong. Another thing is that I used /proc/cpuinfo to check the cache and it said the size was 6114 but that was not a power of 2. I was told to go by powers of 2 to figure out the cache can anyone explain why this is?   • Methods in Customized View did not get invoke in AppDelegate, Why?

    I want the methods pauseGame in customized UIView - MyGameView get invoked when the phone is locked or interrupted. So I have a pauseGame method but it can't stop the timer when user lock screen (command+L). The lock screen did appear but the game still running at the background. So I added the testPause method to MyGameView and MyGameAppDelegate and and put a breakpoint to debug it. When screen locked it, the screen lock appeared and the code did stop at the breakpoint. But when I tried to step into the testPause method, it didn't take me to the method in MyGameView (it just passed it, not skipped) and no message was printed on terminal by NSLog. Why? I know of this question: How to replace new lines with tab characters - but it does produce an tab on end instead of new line.
