• Dynamically load nib for iPhone/iPad within view controller

  Hello I have converted an iPhone application using the wizard like thing in XCode into a universal app. It builds fine but obviously looks a bit rubbish in some areas :) I need to load nibs according to which device is being used. I dont wish to create my view controllers using initWithNib as I already have code to create the controllers with some data (initWithMyLovelyData) which doesnt do anything to do with nib loading. I know to find out the device you use UI_USER_INTERFACE_IDIOT() so I tried overriding the initWithNibName within the actual view controllers themselves, assuming they get called internally somehow. But it's not working as I guess I am unsure of the syntax. I have tried if(ipad..) self = [super initWithNibName:@"MyIpadNib" bundle:nibBundleOrNil]; And that doesnt work :/ EDIT - I know I have massively edited this, made my question a bit more specific after doing some more research - apologies!

• Assembly Microsoft.Xna.Framework.dll does not load

  When trying to load Microsoft.Xna.Framework.dll from any project, it throws a FileNotFoundException. The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E), with no innerException. Even the simple code like the following throws that exception: static void Main(string[] args) { Assembly.LoadFile(@"C:\Microsoft.Xna.Framework.dll"); } I run XP x64, but I've set the platform in the configuration manager to x86, because I know it shouldn't(doesn't) work on x64 or Any CPU. I've manually added the dll file to GAC, but that didn't solve the problem. I have also tried the M$ Assembly Binding Log Viewer to see if those logs had any useful information, but they didn't. Everything, the loading etc, was a success according to them. Any suggestions? please?

My code: Type listType = Type.GetType("System.Collections.ObjectModel.ObservableCollection`1[[" + type.AssemblyQualifiedName + "]], System.Windows, Version=2.0.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=7cec85d7bea7798e", true); type - is variable of Type type. That Type is creating at runtime. At that code line I've got error: Could not load file or assembly ', Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. How can I resolve that error?

I have: an UIViewController A UIView B: I added subview which is a UIView to the UIViewController A an UIViewController C What I did is: in UIViewController A's viewDidLoad's method, I call this: UIView *subviewB = [[Subview alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 1024, 768)]; [subviewB subviewBMethod]; // [self.view addSubview:rsubviewB]; SubviewBMethod code is to create an view, inside this view have a button. Once this button is clicked, it will change to UIViewController C. I tried this: [self presentModalViewController:self.UIViewControllerC animated:YES]; And I got this error message: warning: incompatible Objective-C types 'struct UIViewControllerC *', expected 'struct UIViewController *' when passing argument 1 of 'presentModalViewController:animated:' from distinct Objective-C type When I run the app, it terminates immediately when I click the button, I opened the console bug, there is no any error message. • Could not load file or assembly log4net or one of its dependencies

  I've been asked to take a look at an error in an ASP/C# application with its Paypal integration. The error, shown in full, is: Could not load file or assembly 'log4net, Version=1.2.0.30714, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b32731d11ce58905' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040) From what I understand, this means that the actual file located (that is, log4net.dll in my bin directory) does not match the version expected based on some assembly configuration. The problem I'm having is that I cannot locate where this file is being referenced. I have access to all the files in the web root directory of the site, and cannot locate any config files that reference this DLL. Where else might I need to look to determine what's causing the mis-match? As a note, I've made sure that the version of the DLL in the bin directory is up to date, but this does not seem to have resolved anything.

• Using Timthumb to Resize Images from CKEditor

  I am using CKEditor to do basic text and image input into my website. I have noticed that it is quite sporadic in it's method of generating HTML for images when you add them. (Sometimes it might use height and width tags, other times it might use CSS). I use Timthumb for on the fly image resizing on a number of other websites and find it very useful. I use a mod_rewrite rule in my .htaccess file to allow me to create domains like http://localhost/images/800x600/image.jpg and achieve resizing. I would like to somehow incorporate this into CKEditor. I cannot find how to do this looking through the documentation so I have tried post-processing the data produced by CKEditor using Regex, however as mentioned before CKEditor seems to be too sporadic to be able to get this to work all the time. Anyone else done this before? How did you achieve it?

• Custom Errors "Could no load type error"

  I am creating ASP.Net MVC application and want to handle errors globally. I have set web.config value as mode=On and defaulRedirect="Error.aspx". I have Error.aspx at two places. One at Views/Shared folder and one at project root folder level. But each time an unhandled error occurs, the error page at root level gets called. How can I make it redirect to the one at Shared folder level? I want to do this becasuse, currently I am getting error as "could not load type System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage" when any error is occuring. • vb.net pdf reader load problem

  From the tools menu I have done right clickchoose itemCOM (tab) and ticked adobe pdf reader. From here I simply dragged the pdf tool onto my form. That's all I've done. Now on form load it throws a bug. "InvalidOperationException was unhandled" hovering over the message it says the following, An error occurred creating the form. See Exception.InnerException for details. The error is: Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG)) Any ideas anyone? Gonna take a mastermind to work this one out seriously

  I'm working on a script, and a small part of that involves taking a canvas and converting it to a downloadable image. To do this, I do: var thumb_jpeg = thumbnail.toDataURL("image/jpeg"); $("#" + options.dest).attr('src',thumb_jpeg); ...where thumbnail is a canvas tag and options.dest is the name of an img id. This code works perfectly in Chrome, but when I try it in Firefox, Firebug throws up this error: Security error" code: "1000 var thumb_jpeg = thumbnail.toDataURL("image/jpeg"); I would link to the whole script, but everything is hosted on my computer.   Hi, I'm using a javascript back button link and forward button link to control the user's history inside a modal/lightbox window. The challenge I have is when the modal window is launched, and the "back" and "forward" buttons are present for the user to click, if the initial javascript back button is clicked when the window opens, it actually closes the modal window, because the javascript history is taking the user back to the page PRIOR to the opening of modal window. So, in essence, I'm trying to disable the "back" button from working on the initial load of the modal/light box. <a href="javascript:history.go(-1)">Back Button</a> <a href="javascript:history.go(1)">Foward Button</a> Is this possible?

• Unable to load DLL 'foo.dll', but only when running through vhost

  This is a variation on the old System.DllNotFoundException: Unable to load DLL 'foo.dll': The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E). problem (where, of course, foo.dll is the name of an actual DLL). The strange part is that I only get this error when I "Run" in VS (2008 if that's relevant). That sits in the MyApp.vhost.exe processes. If I run the actual app in a command line (MyApp.exe) I encounter no errors. The problem extends to unit tests with MSTest. A check on the DLL with DependencyWalker on Foo.dll doesn't show any issues. Any ideas?

  Hi folks, I have a GWT application and wanna to test load and functionality using a tool like jmeter. I am not sure jmeter is right tool for GWT. Can anybody direct me to proper tool or can tell me how to do it with jmeter? I want to test login functionality: I have two text box 'User name' and 'Password' on login screen and want to test how many users can log in simultaneously, how much time a round trip to server it takes. • UIButton: Need a circle hit area

  Ok I have 6 custom UIButtons. Their normal state image are all circles images. They are all spaced out equally but all the circles touch each other. The problem with the custom UIbutton (which has a circle image on it), is that the hit area of that button is square, and the corners of this square overlaps the hitarea of the other custom button's hitarea. How do i make the hit area of a UIbutton whos normal state has a circle image, be only clickable on that circle only, rather than the normal square hit area?!   Hey guys sorry to be asking this kind noob question, but because I really need some guidance on how to use Multi probe LSH pretty urgently, so I did not do much research myself. I realize there is a lib call LSHKIT available that implemented that algorithm, but I have trouble trying to figure out how to use it. Right now, I have a few thousand feature vector 296 dimension, each representing an image. The vector is used to query an user input image, to retrieve the most similar image. The method I used to derive the distance between vector is euclidean distance. I know this might be a rather noob question, but do you guys have knowledge on how should i implement multi probe LSH? I am really very grateful to any answer or response.

• Want to load jquery dialog from a different web-page

  I'm a bit of a n00b with jquery so this one is probably an RTFM question: I'm writing an application to create a somewhat complex record for my client. Building the record requires doing a couple of server side searches inside a dialog. Right now I have everything framed up in 1 file (asp.net) and it's ok. But I can see as I add the business logic and the communication with the server this is going to get really ugly. I'm alreay putting most of the javascript in external files, but I'd like to move the HTML for the dialogs out too. How do I get the jquery dialog method to load the dialog body from the html files? Something like: getDialogHTML(dialogHolderDiv); <---magic goes here var dialogOptions = { ... }; $("#"+dialogHolderDiv).dialog(dialogOptions); $("#"+dialogHolderDiv).dialog('open'); any help will be apperciated .
