• MSBuild Include Remote File 2008?

  TFS 2008, VS 2008. I have a tfsbuild.proj and tfsbuild.msp file in $/MyStuff/TeamBuildTypes/Dev folder. I have a targets file at $/MyStuff/TeamBuildTypes/IncludeFiles/Common/test.xml. test.xml contains an XML fragment that overrides the BeforeGet task. I tried to get the file into my tfsbuild.proj file like this: <Import Project="$/MyStuff/TeamBuildTypes/IncludeFiles/Common/test.xml" /> The build fails because it tries to get the file from a relative path that is way off. How can I specify external/include files from an explicit TFS "remote" path? Thanks.

• Optional query string parameters in URITemplate in WCF?

  I'm developing some RESTful services in WCF 4.0. I've got a method as below: [OperationContract] [WebGet(UriTemplate = "Test?format=XML&records={records}", ResponseFormat=WebMessageFormat.Xml)] public string TestXml(string records) { return "Hello XML"; } So if i navigate my browser to http://localhost:8000/Service/Test?format=XML&records=10, then everything works as exepcted. HOWEVER, i want to be able to navigate to http://localhost:8000/Service/Test?format=XML and leave off the "&records=10" portion of the URL. But now, I get a service error since the URI doesn't match the expected URI template. So how do I implement defaults for some of my query string parameters? I want to default the "records" to 10 for instance if that part is left off the query string.

• Silverlight tests not working unless RDP connection open

  I have a few Silverlight UI tests that I'm automating with White. These tests are subsequently run by a TFS build agent, which is running interactively so it can access the desktop. The build passes if I have a Remote Desktop connection open to the build agent as the tests are run; I can see the mouse pointer moving around. When the test clicks on a HyperlinkButton navigation takes place, and is subsequently verified by assertions within the test. The build fails if I do not have a Remote Desktop connection open to the build agent as the tests are run. The Internet Explorer window is created and the Silverlight app loads, but no clicks happen; the application remains on the initial page and test assertions subsequently fail. Has anyone out there found a solution to this problem?

• Testing across multiple sessions in merb using webrat

  I want to test across multiple sessions using webrat in merb. Apparently, this is fairly easy to accomodate in Rails via: http://erikonrails.snowedin.net/?p=159. Following the same logic, I am trying to do something that follows that pattern for merb and webrat. Here is an attempt (which does not work because MerbAdapter does not respond to visit and other webrat session methods; I don't want to take too much more time with this so I have stopped here for now): # defined in test.rb environment file module Merb #:nodoc: module Test #:nodoc: module RequestHelper #:nodoc: def in_a_separate_session old = @_webrat_session.response.clone @_webrat_session = Webrat::MerbAdapter.new yield @_webrat_session.response = old end end end end I tried a few other ideas, but obviously I am missing something. Anyone else know how this would be done in merb? I think I could specify a cookie jar using the request mock, but I prefer to do this with webrat.

• Enable Session state in sharePoint 2010

  I setup a test box computer with server 2008 (standard edition, not R2 and not hyper-v editing). I then installed SharePoint 2010. I was amazed how easy the whole setup went (the prerequisites setup on the SharePoint disk made this process oh so easy – great install system). Really this was just so easy. This test box is being used for testing Access web services. I am able to well publish access applications to this test server and Access applications publish and run just fine on the web SharePoint site through an web browser. However, the only thing that does not work is when I launch a Access report. The error message I get back is This report failed to load because session state is not turned on. Here is a screen shot: I can’t seem to find the setting anywhere to turn session state on. Any hints or links on how to enable session state in SharePoint 2010 would be most appreciated.

  I'm in the process of writing a python module that includes some samples. These samples aren't unit-tests, and they are too long and complex to be doctests. I'm interested in best practices for automatically checking that these samples run. My current project layout is pretty standard, except that there is an extra top level makefile that has build, install, unittest, coverage and profile targets, that delegate responsibility to setup.py and nose as required. projectname/ Makefile README setup.py samples/ foo-sample foobar-sample projectname/ __init__.py foo.py bar.py tests/ test-foo.py test-bar.py I've considered adding a sampletest module, or adding nose.tools.istest decorators to the entry-point functions of the samples, but for a small number of samples, these solutions sound a bit ugly.   Did anyone get that to work? I mean, unit testing .Net CF apps on Windows Mobile 6.5.3 in Visual Studio 2008. It works great for a WM 6 Pro target, but not for a WM 6.5.3 target. I get this error: The test adapter ('Microsoft.VisualStudio.TestTools.TestTypes.Unit.UnitTestAdapter, Microsoft.VisualStudio.QualityTools.Tips.UnitTest.Adapter, Version=9.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a') required to execute this test could not be loaded. Check that the test adapter is installed properly. Not enough storage is available to process this command. Yes, I can read the error text, but I don't understand the failed run. Any clues?

I would expect the compiler to see that the second argument will be unboxed one way or the other, and judge what method must be invoked depending on the third argument. Why does not this happen? What is the rationale?

  Hi, I need help to figure the regex expression I have string = "STATE changed from [Fixed] to [Closed], CLOSED DATE added [Fri Jan 14 09:32:19 MST 2011], NOTES changed from [CLOSED[]<br />] to [TEST CLOSED <br />]" I need to grab NOTES changed from [CLOSED[]<br />] to [TEST CLOSED <br />] and take values CLOSED[] and TEST CLOSED in two string variables. So far I got to: Regex NotesChanged = new Regex(@"NOTES changed from \[(\w*|\W*)\] to \[([\w-|\W-]*)\]"); which matches only if "NOTES changed from" started at the beginning and has no '[]' within '[ ]', but I have "[CLOSED[]]" and also no "". • Problem with running php script using mysql on tomcat

  I am using tomcat 6 with JavaBridge. I have stored my php script in the following location. C:\Program Files\apache-tomcat-6.0.26\webapps\JavaBridge\project\test.php In test.php I am using curl and mysql. The php.ini in JavaBridge is stored in the following location C:\Program Files\apache-tomcat-6.0.26\webapps\JavaBridge\WEB-INF\cgi\php.ini and its contents are - extension_dir="C:\Program Files\apache-tomcat-6.0.26\webapps\JavaBridge\WEB-INF\cgi\x86-windows\ext" include_path="C:\Program Files\apache-tomcat-6.0.26\webapps\JavaBridge\WEB-INF\pear;." there is also a config file called mysql.ini whose contents are - extension = php_mysql.dll I had also installed wamp earlier so I copied all the dll's from C:\wamp\bin\php\php5.3.0\ext to C:\Program Files\apache-tomcat-6.0.26\webapps\JavaBridge\WEB-INF\cgi\x86-windows\ext When I start tomcat and run my script I get the following error - Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysqli_connect() in C:\Program Files\apache-tomcat-6.0.26\webapps\JavaBridge\project\test.php on line 534 Please help.

  Hi, My question is: In JUnit, How do I setup xml data for my System Under Test(SUT) without making the SUT read from an XML file physically stored on the file system Background: I am given a XML file which contains rules for creation of an invoice. My job is to convert these rules from XMl to Java Objects e.g. If there is a tag as below in my XML file which indicates that after a period of 30 days, the transaction cannot be invoiced <ExpirationDay>30</ExpirationDay> this converts to a Java class , say ExpirationDateInvoicingRule I have a class InvoiceConfiguration which should take the XML file and create the *InvoicingRule objects. I am thinking of using StAX to parse the XML document within InvoiceConfiguration Problem: I want to unit test InvoiceConfiguration. But I dont want InvoiceConfiguration to read from an xml file physically on the file system . I want my unit test to be independent of any physical stored xml file. I want to create a xml representation in memory. But a StAX parser only takes FileReader( or I can play with the File Object)

• "Forked Java VM exited abnormally" error from junit tests

  I have a java junit test that passes when run alone on a development machine. We also have a hudson job which runs all the tests, invoked via ant, on a Mac OS X 10.4 node with Java 1.5. The test was passing in the hudson build until recently but now (with no related code changes) one test fails everytime with the following error: Error Message Forked Java VM exited abnormally.   I 've developed an eclipse plugin and in that I have a java file trying to read directories and then populate result accordingly. When I try to run the file from eclipse itself through RunJava application , it gives me proper result but as soon as I try to run the same through Eclipse Application, it is throwing NullPointerException because unable to find the directory. I tried the following ways- Suppose , I have a package as - Package - com.test.abhishek.file.java.TestWork.java Directories - com.test.abhishek.file.java.Dir1 com.test.abhishek.file.java.Dir2 Now in TestWork.java- InputStream is = LGHelpContentView.class.getResourceAsStream("/"+dirName);** The above line is getting failed. How should I keep my directory and where so that it will run as an eclipse plug-in as well.

  Hello. Well, this smells like a tumbleweed, but I will ask it anyway. Suppose you have a noweb file with some c# code. You also have the c++ pretty-print filter dpp. If you run the command noweave -filter ./dpp -x test.nw > csharp.tex on the file below, it will print everything except for the curly braces. Instead of them, I get an em-dash and a closing quotations marks (i.e. ?) in the dvi. The tex source looks fine... • Read and write from a byte stream if the endianess of the data is different from that of the current

  I have a stream of bytes which contains a flag which identifies the endianness of the data in the header. I want to read the doubles from the stream, which will presumably need to be different if the endianness of the data in the header is different? I am currently using a BinaryReader and calling ReadDouble to read the data from the stream, but if the endianness flag indicates that the data stream has a different endianness than the machine architecture then presumably this will not work? How should this be handled? Should I check the endianness of my data against that of the current machine then when I want to read a double instead read the bytes raw into a byte array and do array.Reverse to reverse the data before using BitConverter.ToDouble () with the reversed data and a zero offset? I could just test this but I do not have a source of data for both endianness so am a bit concerned about creating test data to test the parsing and this being different from what 'real' data might look like.
