  • how do i use @var on a function variable?

    i've got a variable $user that is of data type User (a class). i've got it in a class method so i can't just type: /** * @var User */ $user = Factory::getInstance('User'); because that will work only with class properties, not method variables like in this case. how could i tell netbeans that that variable is of data type User in a method?     I have a page called create.php. It receives post variables and sets up accounts. I don't want that page to be accessible by a user. What's the conventional way of achieving this? I think I remember reading something about including a page with a CONSTANT. If the CONSTANT is not present the page has been accessed directly. I think Wordpress also do it.

  • How can I scale movement physics functions to frames per second (in a game engine)?

    I am working on a game in Javascript (HTML5 Canvas). I implemented a simple algorithm that allows an object to follow another object with basic physics mixed in (a force vector to drive the object in the right direction, and the velocity stacks momentum, but is slowed by a constant drag force). At the moment, I set it up as a rectangle following the mouse (x, y) coordinates. Now, the tricky part: my question is, if I change this to a different framerate (say, 30 FPS), how can I modify the force and drag values to keep the movement constant? That is, right now my rectangle (whose position is dictated by the x and y variables) moves at a maximum speed of about 4 pixels per second, and accelerates to its max speed in about 1 second. BUT, if I change the framerate, it moves slower (e.g. 30 FPS accelerates to only 2 pixels per frame). So, how can I create an equation that takes FPS (frames per second) as input, and spits out correct "drag" and "force" values that will behave the same way in real time?     I'm just starting to use Objective-C and I need to clarify something When I @synthesize a @property, it is common convention to do the following: @interface Class : ParentClass @property propertyName @end @implementation @synthesize propertyName = _propertyName; @end I've seen plenty of questions and answers suggesting that "_propertyName" is widely accepted as the "correct" way to synthesize properties. However, does it serve ANY purpose? Or is it merely to increase readability and identify instance variables?

So: set variable=%val% What happens now is that when running the script the variable will be set to nothing as the %val% is being evaluated! But this is not what I want...   • logon script not running

    i tried make a logon script to map some network drives since it need more than homedir only but when i apply to script to "logon" in a GPO on server 2008 it doesnt run it on the pc when i logon. when i make a Gpresult -r it show as applied but it never ran the script. i tried run the script manual and that works fine. In Event Viewer in windows 7 it show an error "Event ID 1129" with this text in the general tap: The processing of Group Policy failed because of lack of network connectivity to a domain controller. This may be a transient condition. A success message would be generated once the machine gets connected to the domain controller and Group Policy has succesfully processed. If you do not see a success message for several hours, then contact your administrator.

Thanks for pointing me to AutoHotKey_L! Do you have a specific example of how to conditionally define a hotkey? The syntax is very confusing.   • Software to Monitor the Stability of Internet Connection

    Thanks to the excellent internet connection service offered by one of the best ISP in the world, the internet connection in my area is very, very unstable. I can connect some of the time, but MOST of the time the connection will just drop off ( with the error message unable to resolve host) and after a few minutes, it will resume back. If I ping the domain name directly (i.e., ping www.google.com -t in cmd command), I will get a cannot ping message. Because of the flickery nature of the connection, it's pretty hard to prove to the support staff that internet connection is unstable. So I am thinking about using one software to record down the connection situation, so that I can present to the technical staff and make sure that they have no excuse not to fix my problem. Any such software available? Edit: Of course, such software should not record my browsing habit, and must be able to monitor and record the internet connection condition even when I am not online.

  • Unable to see External HDD in Windows Explorer

    I have bought a 320GB External HDD which I want to use with my Playstation3. I know it will only work with a Fat32 file system so using some free HP software it formatted it, unbeknown to me it will only work up to 32GB. After seeing this I panicked, downloaded Partition Wizard Home Edition and deleted the partition. As I was about to create a new partition to put it back to NTFS (I'd just wanted to be able to use it in the first place at this point) I accidently knocked the cable out of my computer for the HDD and after replacing it the External HDD is no longer recognised by the My Computer option, Disk Management asks me to initialise the disc using MBR but it fails saying "Copy protected". Even the partitioning software I previously mentioned can't do anything about it, all it says is "Bad Condition" and I can't perform any operations on it. Would anybody be able to guide me in getting this sorted? I'm terrified i've wasted a perfectly good 320GB HDD.

  • Sharing the same `ssh-agent` among multiple login sessions

    Is there a convenient way to ensure that all logins from a given user (ie me) use the same ssh-agent? I hacked out a script to make this work most of the time, but I suspected all along that there was some way to do it that I had just missed. Additionally, since that time there have been amazing advances in computing technology, like for example this website. So the goal here is that whenever I log in to the box, regardless of whether it's via SSH, or in a graphical session started from gdm/kdm/etc, or at a console: if my username does not currently have an ssh-agent running, one is started, the environment variables exported, and ssh-add called. otherwise, the existing agent's coordinates are exported in the login session's environment variables. This facility is especially valuable when the box in question is used as a relay point when sshing into a third box. In this case it avoids having to type in the private key's passphrase every time you ssh in and then want to, for example, do git push or something. The script given below does this mostly reliably, although it botched recently when X crashed and I then started another graphical session. There might have been other screwiness going on in that instance. Here's my bad-is-good script.   • Question regarding the SELinux type enforcement file

    In my SElinux te file, I define two new types called voice_t and data_t which certain directories will be classified in the fc file (/data/ will be of type data_t and /voice/ will be of type voice_t). I would like the one SELinux policy to be used for all servers in my network, but, some servers will log VoIP data and other servers will be used to log IP data. I only want the voice_t type to be defined on some servers and data_t to be defined on the others - is this possible? I have tried using an if statement with a boolean expression, and then defining the type when the condition is true but this does not seem to work (it tells me there is a syntax error at 'type data_t'' or 'type voice_t;'). Example: if (data_logger) { type data_t; } else { type voice_t; } Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Luke

  • SMTP Verb Error on MSExchange Server 2003

    Hi, Every morning for the last two weeks or more I've had to reboot our Exchange Server and often I have to reboot it again during the day. We use a smarthost for sending our mail out and if I view the queues on Exhange System Manager the Small Business SMTP Connector is in a retry state with "The connection was dropped due to an SMTP protocol event sink". I turned logging up to maximum on ExchangeTransport and the only non-information event in EventViewer is “Message delivery to the host '62.13.128.187' failed while delivering to the remote domain 'mail.authsmtp.com' for the following reason: The connection was dropped due to an SMTP protocol event sink. The SMTP verb which caused the error is 'x-exps'. The response from the remote server is ''.” I stopped using the smarthost during the error condition and all I got was lots of small business connector connections with the same error. I can telnet into mail.authsmtp.com and send a mail during the error state. Any pointers would be gratefully received.
