  • How to Validate Pasted Dates in Excel

    - by jimdrang
    I want to validate pasted dates to remove /'s and ensure the year is 4 digits and when users paste them in it overwrites my excel validation. So, If a user pastes 05/19/10 into a cell, I would like it to convert to 05192010 or at least give an error if this is not possible. I don't know enough VB to add sheet-wide code that does this and I'm not sure if it would work when users paste multiple cells at a time.

  • How would I change this Query builder from Kohana 2.4 to Kohana 3?

    - by Thorpe Obazee
    I have had this website built for a few months and I am just getting on Kohana 3. I'd just like to convert this K2.4 query builder to K3 query builder. return DB::select(array('posts.id', 'posts.created', 'posts.uri', 'posts.price', 'posts.description', 'posts.title', 'image_count' => db::expr('COUNT(images.id)'))) ->from('posts') ->join('images')->on('images.post_id', '=', 'posts.id') ->group_by(array('posts.id')) ->order_by('posts.id', 'DESC') ->limit($limit) ->offset($offset) ->execute();

  • create a dict of lists from a string

    - by Chris Card
    I want to convert a string such as 'a=b,a=c,a=d,b=e' into a dict of lists {'a': ['b', 'c', 'd'], 'b': ['e']} in Python 2.6. My current solution is this: def merge(d1, d2): for k, v in d2.items(): if k in d1: if type(d1[k]) != type(list()): d1[k] = list(d1[k]) d1[k].append(v) else: d1[k] = list(v) return d1 record = 'a=b,a=c,a=d,b=e' print reduce(merge, map(dict,[[x.split('=')] for x in record.split(',')])) which I'm sure is unnecessarily complicated. Any better solutions?

  • Where does respository resides in after converting CVS repository into SVN using cvs2svn ?

    - by thetna
    I am using cvs2svn for converting already existing CVS repository into svn repository. While doing it using command line , it makes all the passes and creates a repository in the SVN. But i am not able to find all the files in the particular directory. Where does that repository resides? I used following command to convert the CVS to SVN repository. cvs2svn -s /home/user/Subversion/repos /home/usr/cvsrepo

  • Stepping into Ruby Meta-Programming: Generating proxy methods for multiple internal methods

    - by mstksg
    Hi all; I've multiply heard Ruby touted for its super spectacular meta-programming capabilities, and I was wondering if anyone could help me get started with this problem. I have a class that works as an "archive" of sorts, with internal methods that process and output data based on an input. However, the items in the archive in the class itself are represented and processed with integers, for performance purposes. The actual items outside of the archive are known by their string representation, which is simply number_representation.to_s(36). Because of this, I have hooked up each internal method with a "proxy method" that converts the input into the integer form that the archive recognizes, runs the internal method, and converts the output (either a single other item, or a collection of them) back into strings. The naming convention is this: internal methods are represented by _method_name; their corresponding proxy method is represented by method_name, with no leading underscore. For example: class Archive ## PROXY METHODS ## ## input: string representation of id's ## output: string representation of id's def do_something_with id result = _do_something_with id.to_i(36) return nil if result == nil return result.to_s(36) end def do_something_with_pair id_1,id_2 result = _do_something_with_pair id_1.to_i(36), id_2.to_i(36) return nil if result == nil return result.to_s(36) end def do_something_with_these ids result = _do_something_with_these ids.map { |n| n.to_i(36) } return nil if result == nil return result.to_s(36) end def get_many_from id result = _get_many_from id return nil if result == nil # no sparse arrays returned return result.map { |n| n.to_s(36) } end ## INTERNAL METHODS ## ## input: integer representation of id's ## output: integer representation of id's def _do_something_with id # does something with one integer-represented id, # returning an id represented as an integer end def do_something_with_pair id_1,id_2 # does something with two integer-represented id's, # returning an id represented as an integer end def _do_something_with_these ids # does something with multiple integer ids, # returning an id represented as an integer end def _get_many_from id # does something with one integer-represented id, # returns a collection of id's represented as integers end end There are a couple of reasons why I can't just convert them if id.class == String at the beginning of the internal methods: These internal methods are somewhat computationally-intensive recursive functions, and I don't want the overhead of checking multiple times at every step There is no way, without adding an extra parameter, to tell whether or not to re-convert at the end I want to think of this as an exercise in understanding ruby meta-programming Does anyone have any ideas? edit The solution I'd like would preferably be able to take an array of method names @@PROXY_METHODS = [:do_something_with, :do_something_with_pair, :do_something_with_these, :get_many_from] iterate through them, and in each iteration, put out the proxy method. I'm not sure what would be done with the arguments, but is there a way to test for arguments of a method? If not, then simple duck typing/analogous concept would do as well.

  • How do you make cin typesafe?

    - by cactusbin
    It is well known that cin is not typesafe (e.g. cin integer; and entering "fifty five" will cause it to flip out). I have seen many not-so-elegant ways to hand this, such as getlining a string and using sstream to convert it to a number, or looping with cin.fail() and clearing the stream and reentering it, etc. Is there any library or anyway to overload the inserter operator to make cin automatically typesafe?

  • Problem with continue in While Loop within Try/Catch in C# (2.0)

    - by csharpnoob
    Hi, when i try to use in my ASPX Webpage in the Code Behind this try{ while() { ... db.Open(); readDataMoney = new OleDbCommand("SELECT * FROM Customer WHERE card = '" + customer.card + "';", db).ExecuteReader(); while (readDataMoney.Read()) { try { if (!readDataMoney.IsDBNull(readDataMoney.GetOrdinal("Credit"))) { customer.credit = Convert.ToDouble(readDataMoney[readDataMoney.GetOrdinal("Credit")]); } if (!readDataMoney.IsDBNull(readDataMoney.GetOrdinal("Bonus"))) { customer.bonus = Convert.ToDouble(readDataMoney[readDataMoney.GetOrdinal("Bonus")]); } } catch (Exception ex) { Connector.writeLog("Money: " + ex.StackTrace + "" + ex.Message + "" + ex.Source); customer.credit = 0.0; customer.credit = 0.0; continue; } finally { } } readDataMoney.Close(); vsiDB.Close(); ... } }catch { continue; } The whole page hangs if there is a problem when the read from db isn't working. I tried to check for !isNull, but same problem. I have a lots of differend MDB Files to process, which are readonly (can't repair/compact) and some or others not. Same Design/Layout of Tables. With good old ASP Classic 3.0 all of them are processing with the "On Resume Next". I know I know. But that's how it is. Can't change the source. So the basic question: So is there any way to tell .NET to continue the loop whatever happens within the try loop if there is any exception? After a lots of wating time i get this exceptions: at System.Data.Common.UnsafeNativeMethods.IDBInitializeInitialize.Invoke(IntPtr pThis) at System.Data.OleDb.DataSourceWrapper.InitializeAndCreateSession(OleDbConnectionString constr, SessionWrapper& sessionWrapper) at System.Data.OleDb.OleDbConnectionInternal..ctor(OleDbConnectionString constr, OleDbConnection connection) at System.Data.OleDb.OleDbConnectionFactory.CreateConnection(DbConnectionOptions options, Object poolGroupProviderInfo, DbConnectionPool pool, DbConnection owningObject) at System.Data.ProviderBase.DbConnectionFactory.CreateNonPooledConnection(DbConnection owningConnection, DbConnectionPoolGroup poolGroup) at System.Data.ProviderBase.DbConnectionFactory.GetConnection(DbConnection owningConnection) at System.Data.ProviderBase.DbConnectionClosed.OpenConnection(DbConnection outerConnection, DbConnectionFactory connectionFactory) at System.Data.OleDb.OleDbConnection.Open() at GetCustomer(String card)Thread was being aborted.System.Data and System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.ReadInt16(IntPtr ptr, Int32 ofs) System.Data.ProviderBase.DbBuffer.ReadInt16(Int32 offset) System.Data.OleDb.ColumnBinding.Value_I2() System.Data.OleDb.ColumnBinding.Value() System.Data.OleDb.OleDbDataReader.GetValue(Int32 ordinal) System.Data.OleDb.OleDbDataReader.get_Item(Int32 index) Thread was terminated.mscorlib Thanks for any help.

  • RadioButton checkedchanged event firing multiple times

    - by kash3
    Hi, I am trying to add multiple radiobutton columns to my gridview dynamically in the code and i want to implement some logic which involves database fetch in the checkedchanged event of radiobuttons but some how the checked changed event is being fired multiple times for each row. Following is the code: aspx: <asp:GridView ID="GridView1" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="False" BackColor="White" BorderColor="#CC9966" BorderStyle="None" EnableViewState="true" BorderWidth="1px" CellPadding="4" Font-Names="Verdana"> <FooterStyle BackColor="#FFFFCC" ForeColor="#330099" /> <Columns> <asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Select One"> <ItemTemplate> </ItemTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> <asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Select Two"> <ItemTemplate> </ItemTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> <asp:TemplateField> <ItemTemplate> <asp:Label ID="lblval" runat="server" Text="!" ForeColor="Red" Visible="false"/> </ItemTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> </Columns> **code behind** void GridView1_RowDataBound(object sender, GridViewRowEventArgs e) { if (e.Row.DataItem != null) { DataRowView dvRowview = (DataRowView)e.Row.DataItem; int currentRow = GridView1.Rows.Count; RadioButton rdoSelect1 = new RadioButton(); rdoSelect1.GroupName = "Select" + currentRow; rdoSelect1.ID = string.Concat("rdoSelect1", currentRow); rdoSelect1.AutoPostBack = true; rdoSelect1.CheckedChanged += new EventHandler(rdoSelect_CheckedChanged); e.Row.Cells[0].Controls.Add(rdoSelect1); RadioButton rdoSelect2 = new RadioButton(); rdoSelect2.GroupName = "Select" + currentRow; rdoSelect2.ID = string.Concat("rdoSelect2", currentRow); rdoSelect2.AutoPostBack = true; rdoSelect2.CheckedChanged += new EventHandler(rdoSelect_CheckedChanged); e.Row.Cells[1].Controls.Add(rdoSelect2); if (!IsPostBack) { e.Row.Cells[e.Row.Cells.Count - 1].Controls[1].Visible = false; if (e.Row.Cells[0] != null && Convert.ToBoolean(dvRowview["Select1"]) == true) rdoSelect1.Checked = true; else rdoSelect1.Checked = false; if (e.Row.Cells[0] != null && Convert.ToBoolean(dvRowview["Select2"]) == true) rdoSelect2.Checked = true; else rdoSelect2.Checked = false; } } } void rdoSelect_CheckedChanged(object sender, EventArgs e) { RadioButton rdoSelectedOption = (RadioButton)sender; GridViewRow selRow = rdoSelectedOption.NamingContainer as GridViewRow; if (rdoSelectedOption.Checked) selRow.Cells[selRow.Cells.Count - 1].Controls[1].Visible = true; else selRow.Cells[selRow.Cells.Count - 1].Controls[1].Visible = false; } i want the checkedchanged event to fire only once for a group name and row.

  • Get individual query parameters from Uri

    - by Ghostrider
    I have a uri string like: http://example.com/file?a=1&b=2&c=string%20param Is there an existing function that would convert query parameter string into a dictionary same way as ASP.NET Context.Request does it. I'm writing a console app and not a web-service so there is no Context.Request to parse the URL for me. I know that it's pretty easy to crack the query string myself but I'd rather use a FCL function is if exists.

Also, is there a way to do this conversion without specifying the origin? Thanks

  • Erlang : flattening a list of strings

    - by ErJab
    I have a list like this: [["str1","str2"],["str3","str4"],["str5","str6"]] And I need to convert it to ["str1", "str2", "str3", "str4", "str5", "str6"] How do I do this? The problem is that I'm dealing with lists of strings, so when I do lists:flatten([["str1","str2"],["str3","str4"],["str5","str6"]]) I get "str1str2str3str4str5str6" However, if the elements of the original list where just atoms, then lists:flatten would have given me what I needed. How do I achieve the same with strings?

  • How to find if lat/long falls in an area using Django and geopy

    - by Duane Hilton
    I'm trying to create a Django app that would take an inputted address and return a list of political races that person would vote in. I have maps of all the districts (PDFs). And I know that I can use geopy to convert an inputted address into coordinates. How do I define the voter districts in Django so that I can run a query to see what districts those coordinates fall in?
