  • Are there any advantages to using windows 7 ultimate? I can't tell the diference

    I just upgraded my new desktop which came installed with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit with a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and so far I have not noticed any difference in performance. Even my Windows Experience Index number is the same 5.5 that it was before the upgrade. So what's the point, are there any performance advantages that I'm not seeing? Additional Info My system hardware specs: AMD quad core 2.6 GHZ 1 TB 4200 RPM HDD 8 GB DDR2 RAM ATI Radeon HD 4650 w/ 1GB dedicated video memory

  • (Ubuntu - Lamp) phpmyadmin install error 404 not found

    Hi, I install apache, mysql, php and then phpmyadmin on ubuntu desktop 10.04 version I test apache: localhost with browser and its works. I test mysql with console and its works. I test phpmyadmin http://localhost/phpmyadmin/ and get error 404 not found I see that solution for that brobem, copy /phpmyadmin/ to /www/, but I dont want to put in /www/ to my websites files (maybe I wrong or miss something-please tell me in this case). How this problem can be solved in the best way? Thanks

  • What's the best way to migrate SELECT applications and data from an old Mac to a one?

    I know I can make an easy transfer of everything using time machine, but I'm trying to transfer the minimum necessary to the new computer (applications I currently use, Aperture database, etc.) in order to keep the new machine as clean as possible, and avoid starting out with any legacy problems with permissions, etc. Clearly, I can copy individual apps and databases to an external drive and then install them on the new machine, but I'm trying to find an easier way.

  • How can I create and add a new slide type to the New Slide menu in PowerPoint?

    On the Home ribbon in Power Point 2007 there is a new slide button with an arrow that shows you various types of slides that you can add to your presentation: Title Slide, Title and Content, Comparison, Title Only, etc. I want to design a new type of slide that has 4 content areas instead of two and then be able to add new slides of this type using the new slide menu. I know that I can add new Power Point templates but that would require me to start a new presentation with my custom slide type in it and the copy and paste that slide into the current presentation that I am already working on. How can I create a new slide type and then add it to the menu so that I can quickly create new slides of my new 4 content area slide type?

  • Video/Animated GIF advanced frame editor?

    What sort of application could I use for example if I had a 5 minute video or an animated GIF with 50 frames, and I wanted to basically Photoshop replace an object, say a person's head, with another image for all those 50 frames? Is there some sort of smart tool that can do this or do I have to edit every single frame by hand? I wouldn't mind there being a tool where I can paste the image in every frame automatically, and switch from frame to frame adjusting the position of it, I just need something efficient. I've tried using Photoshop's import video into image sequence and tried editing with the animation toolbar at the bottom, but it's not quite what I want. I don't care if it's free software or not, I'm primarily using Linux but I have VirtualBox Windows XP if there's an excellent application that's not available otherwise.

    How I can easily apply a template to an existing OO Calc file? AFAIK it is possible only to make a new file from a template, copy the sheets in it, and save/overwrite the old file. But I don't like this way; there is a easier/better way to do this? Like a macro, or something like that. I just need to repeatedly apply page margins to my sheet.

  • Wamp website stop responding till restarting services [on hold]

    My first message here after many non conclusive research about my problem. So I'm administering a drupal website and I have migrate all application to new version: PHP 5.3.5 - 5.4.16 Apache 2.2.17 - 2.4.4 MySQL 5.1.36 - 5.6.12 With the new Wamp version. Also update Drupal from 6.19 to 6.30. I have update it by uninstalling everything in the server and reinstalling the new version. Since this update the website sometimes become unresponsive till we restart wamp. No warrning and no error in event log. Can somebody help me with this problem? I also cannot enable SSL, after configuring it wamp won't start. I have do many research and test but I still have many issue.     I was using a trial from PGP. Now have a license supplied by the company I work for. Upon trying to overwrite/upgrade - PGP is reporting that its using the 'old', namely trial license.     I'm sending logs from my Heroku app to an rsyslog server, but the resulting log files seem to come up empty. The rsyslog configuration for receiving remote messages is as follows: $template RemoteDailyLog,"/var/log/remote/%hostname%/%$year%/%$month%/%$day%.log" :fromhost-ip, !isequal, "127.0.0.1" -?RemoteDailyLog & ~ My complete rsyslog configuration is available in this paste. This configuration appears to create the directories correctly. I see the Heroku app's logging hostname (of the form "d.xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx") appear in /var/log on the rsyslog host, which implies that log messages are successfully making it to the logging daemon, but the resulting logfiles are zero-size. I'm guessing the issue is with rsyslog, rather than Heroku, but I'm not sure where to look next.

Bareword found where operator expected at - line 72, near "1000 input" (Missing operator before input?) This program is written in perl language.

  • Very Large number of connections in TIME_WAIT state; Server is slow, ipconntrac

    I have a nginx server with load balancing and reverse proxy. Right now its behing another nginx but very soon I plan to make it front, where it will receive TCP connections from clients directly at a rate of 500req/second I am having some big troubles with the server. It surely isnt great. Can you help me understand whats going on and how can I fix it. This is my live server and I am sure its in a bad shape right now. Any document or commands to fix this, or settings I should make to make this better and reduce time wait and fin_wait1/2 better would be awesome.
