    Hello. I have an apache2 running and i have a service available as http://www.domain.com:8080/sitename What will be a simplest apache2 configuration so entering "http://www.domain.com" in browser will show "http://www.domain.com:8080/sitename"? I have added: <VirtualHost *:80> ProxyPass / http://www.domain.com:8080/sitename/ ProxyPassReverse / http://www.domain.com:8080/sitename/ </VirtualHost> But, of course, this is not workig. Is it some simple configuration i can use for such redirect or i'm doomed to copy-paste a 100+ line configs from tutorials?

To detect biral infection it is desired that internet access is limited. Network access to the host is desired, but access to the internet should be limited to a select few sites. The added overhead of network access should be small when the guest vbox is running, 0 when it is not.

    my server has a disk error, unfortunately RAID-0. So i am planning to boot it off CD (partedmagic) and copy the VMs to a USB disk. File system is VMFS (esxi4) once the damaged disk is replaced back could the data be restored back? this server has two datastores this bad disk belongs to store-1. please suggest any better ways or tools. thanks in advance

  • How can I use a batch shortcut to open multiple Windows Explorer folders, and a Notepad file?

    I've recently built a computer with an SSD in it (my first) and am in the process of moving a select few of my Steam games to the SSD and symbolically linking them to where they're supposed to be on the main (mechanical) hard drive so that Steam doesn't throw a fit and I get maximum performance. To this end, I'm finding myself repeatedly navigating to both target folders to move the relevant files and opening a specific Notepad file to enter the relevant paths into a template I've got set up that I paste into the Windows command prompt to create the symlink. This is annoying. I've read up a little bit on batch shortcuts, and have a basic understanding on how to use one to open programs and files. However, I'm finding a lot of confusing suggestions on how to use batch shortcuts to open specific folders in Windows Explorer, and none of them deal with opening multiple folders at once. Any assistance on writing the shortcut would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

    I have many local virtual machines for building the django websites. I find it very hard to configure all the machines with mod_wsgi , python and all that installation issues. Is there any way that i can install even python 2.7 , mod_wsgi etc and all that inside the virtual environment folder so that i can just copy paste that folder in my live server and i don't need to mess with mos_wsgi , python 2.7 and other issues. Is it possible or even any close variation of that so that puting the site to live servers is very easy and everything which is needed by site should be included locally I also face many problems when i need to move the django sites across servers

    Hi Team, While preparing a Word 2007 document, I made a mistake. (Not to say I don't have any other copy of the document) While formatting (as a try) I applied the style "Apply Style to Body to match selection".     I work in VMs day in and day out, it's wonderful, encapsulating all the stuff I need for development in a contained unit. My question is: I want to be able to take my VM home with me, the problem is the VM is 30GB, and it takes about 30 minutes to copy that much data to my external HDD. Is it possible to somehow save the "state" of the VM, go home, and just resume it like a I would a laptop? Oh... almost forgot, I use VMware Workstation 6.5

I'm definitely no server admin, but I have been tasked with finding out the following: Can we monitor or log what users do?     CPU fan is making noise. I figured out some reasons: Cable coming out of fan is vibrating. And maybe also CPU fan is loose causing vibration. Suggest options. I cleaned the fan. But found that there is no heatsink compound /paste between processor and the fan. Is it OK? My processor is P4 2.4 GHz. Motherboard Intel 845 GVSR.

    I want to create an email with a signature that contains an external image. For example, I would like to always include my SuperUser flair in my signature like so: http://superuser.com/users/flair/53525.png This can be done if I insert an image and select the above source. The problem occurs when I copy the image and paste it into the body of a new email. Outlook creates an embedded version and breaks the link to the original email. How can an image be pasted into Outlook and NOT be embedded (ie: the link to the original image is maintained?)

  • how to make man page not disappear on exit

    ...probably a silly question but I could not beat google into telling me the answer so posting here: I got 2 machines - Slackware 13 and Fedora 11. On the slack machine, when I use man I can scroll all the way to the bottom then exit man and the info stays in my terminal window (which I find very convenient as I can read it while typing the command in question, copy-paste the options, etc.). On fedora when I close man the man page info is gone. How can I configure man (or is it the terminal?) to not remove the man page info on exit?
