    Hi We are running a Windows 2008 Small Business Server with Symantec Backup Exec. Last night the back up failed due to the Volume Shadow Copy service being unable to start. When I try to manually start it I get the following error "windows could not start the volume shadow copy on local computer" Has anybody any suggestions other than rebooting the server? many thanks Graham

    My backupexec is setup to integrate with exchange, to backup the information store, versus just backing up the data file path. My exchange mdbdata folder is 17 gigs. But my backup exec is backing up 40 gigs worth of data. I have gone through it a million times, and it's strictly backing up exchange information store. I deleted all my backups and started over, to clear the incremental backup old data. Where is all this extra data coming from?

    I'm trying to write an upstart file for OpenConnect. The task is pretty simple, but I'm stuck because I don't want to provide the username and password in a config file, but prompt the user to provide them each time. The upstart file, placed in /etc/init/openconnect.conf is exec /usr/sbin/openconnect --script=/etc/vpnc/vpnc-script my-gw.example.com However, when I execute start openconnect the process is backgrounded immediately and I get no chance to provide input. How can I make this upstart job ask the user for input?

    I'm trying to move our Google Web Toolkit (GWT) development from Eclipse to IntelliJ 9 Community edition. So far I've been able to run and debug client/server code successfully via the GWT Maven plugin and its embedded Jetty container. However, I'm having trouble debugging client code when it is already running on a remote machine (and hence there's no need for the embedded Jetty container). Has anyone been successful at achieving this? Any help would be appreciated!

    I'm trying to build an JEE6-application on Glassfish V3, using JSF 2.0, Weld, JPA2 and Maven. Now i'm having trouble getting a simple <a4j:support> running. This is the fragment of my little example. When typing something into the inputtext, the outputtext should automatically be updated. But nothing happens (not in Firefox, not in IE8). <ui:composition xmlns:a4j="https://ajax4jsf.dev.java.net/ajax" (...)> <h:inputText value="#{personHome.message}"> <a4j:support event="onkeyup" reRender="repeater"/> </h:inputText> <h:outputText id="repeater" value="#{personHome.message}"/> Beside that my example doesn't work, my problem is also that i don't really understand if i need a JSF implementation (MyFaces, Richfaces, Primefaces etc.) or not to use a4j elements. Is it "built-in" in glassfish?     I would like monit to monitor my service and once it's stopped then I want the computer to reboot. The process don't have a certain port that I can monitor. This is what I did: check process chat with pidfile /var/run/chat.pid start program = "/etc/init.d/chat start" stop program = "/etc/init.d/chat stop" if changed ppid then exec /sbin/reboot I tried all sort of things but it only restart my service. (and adding getters is not an option, it's an external jar) Using the search I've seen that some people put them in a map. However I've seen that there's a constants function in the unstandard taglib but that is a few years old and so far I haven't found a maven repository with it. So are there any other taglibs with this functionality?

    When I try to select a file or directory which has a space in its path in the Windows Explorer, it selects a completely different directory: explorer.exe "/select,C:\Program Files\foobar" I've tried it from Java with Runtime.getRuntime().exec(new String[] { "explorer.exe", "/select," + filePath }); and with the above command line. In both cases, the same result. What can I do to solve the problem?

    I'm trying to write an upstart script to start orbited on startup. The script is as follows: #orbited start on startup stop on shutdown script exec /usr/local/bin/orbited --config=/etc/orbited.cfg end script When I run upstart orbited I get something like this: orbited start/running, process 605 But when I run status orbited right after doing that I get: orbited stop/waiting The script fails to start even though it says it's running.   • Can't create admin user on Heroku

    I am new to rails and I have gone through Kevin Skoglund's Ruby on Rails 3 Essential Training course on Lynda.com. Through the course you set up a simple cms, which I did. It doesn't cover Git or deployment but I've pushed my simple cms to github (https://github.com/nick5a1/Simple_CMS) and deployed to Heroku (http://nkarrasch.herokuapp.com/). In order to deploy to Heroku I followed the Heroku setup guide (https://devcenter.heroku.com/articles/rails3) and switched my database from MySQL to PostgreSQL. As instructed I changed gen'mysql2' to gen 'sqlite3' in my Gemfile and ran bundle install before pushing. I then ran heroku run rake db:migrate. I'm running into 2 problems. When I try to log in (http://nkarrasch.herokuapp.com/access) I get an error "We're sorry, but something went wrong". I should instead be getting a flash message with invalid username/password combination. This is what I'm getting on my test environment on my local machine. Secondly, when I log into the Heroku console to create and create an admin user, when I try to save that user I get the following error: irb(main):004:0> user.save (1.2ms) BEGIN AdminUser Exists (1.9ms) SELECT 1 AS one FROM "admin_users" WHERE "admin_users"."username" = 'Nick5a1' LIMIT 1 (1.7ms) ROLLBACK => false Any advice on how to troubleshoot would be greatly appreciated :).     I have a quite fresh install of the Apache (2.2.3/Centos) + PHP(5.1.6) and following problem: I need to monitor life of one process and in order to do that I run: $last_line = exec('ps -C snmpd'); and check its output. Unfortunately I always get nothing. I've checked it with other process names and it seems it can 'see' only Apache's processes. Any idea how to work this out?
