  • Windows 7 boot from downloaded .iso

    Downloaded Windows 7 .iso off the net and want to install from USB key on old laptop (previously/still running XP) that has no CD/DVD drive. Here's what I've got so far: Read the instructions in this post: http://kmwoley.com/blog/?p=345 , which were quite straight forward and clear. Properly formatted USB key with another laptop (this one running vista), also with no DVD drive wasn't sure how to make the USB bootable, since my .iso was downloaded and I have no DVD drive. Any help would be much appreciated!!

    has anyone ever run into a dirty cache issue with a Equallogic SAN. Even after replacement of the controller cards in the Equallogic Storage Array fails offline with a dirty cache.   • Disable mod_cache to fix website

    I am working on a website that runs on WordPress. The an error occurs when accessing the blog page that it displays the RSS feed (in XML) rather than the posts. After some research I found out the when enabling mod_cache this error sometimes occurs. I see when looking at the apache2 modules enabled apache2ctl -M it shows that mod_cache, mod_mem_cache and mod_disc_cache are enabled. What should I disable in order to resolve this problem?

If i access any url besides .zmedia.com , I got proxy connection refused. But the url_regex is not working. What i am trying here is.     Is there a Firefox add-on that will allow someone to easily open up a page in a new tab or window so it will not share cookies and other session information with other windows? Basically, I want to be able to run Facebook, GMail, Google Search, etc, in separate sandboxes using different accounts. I recall seeing a blog posting about an add-on that did this without forcing you to set up different Firefox profiles, but I can't remember where I saw it or what it was called.

Reason I ask, I wish to change the A record. So this will eliminate the .htaccess file, and thus null and void the redirect. How long must I wait prior to the undertaking? Thank you.

    Hi, I'm configurint Postfix to use external smtp. For this, I use the following tutorial: http://carlton.oriley.net/blog/?p=31 After following it, I found in the logs that /etc/postfix/sasl_passwd.db couldn't be read. The file didn't exist. I used postmap hash:/etc/postfix/sasl_passwd (http://postfix.state-of-mind.de/patrick.koetter/smtpauth/smtp_auth_mailservers.html) as root, but I get: postmap: fatal: open database /etc/postfix/sasl_passwd.db: Permission denied Why do I get this?   • Can I uninstall Silverlight? Does any major site still require it? [on hold]

    The last major site using Silverlight was Netflix but there's been an effort to implement Premium Video Extensions for HTML5 on the Mac for Safari. According to Netflix support is coming with OS X Yosemite. (See blog link below) For other platforms it appears Google Chrome also has support for Premium Video Extensions for HTML5 and Netflix will use it.     What is the recommended way of getting command-line Amazon EC2 tools on Debian? So, basically the same as this question, but for EC2 instead of S3. Ubuntu has ec2-ami-tools and ec2-api-tools, but I couldn't find equivalent packages for Debian. A blog post titled "Install EC2 AMI & API tools in Debian" talks about installing Amazon's packages outside package management, but that seems a little clumsy.
