    The MSDN only states that Occurs when the CommandManager detects conditions that might change the ability of a command to execute. However I can't seem to find any traces of how this works, what I should be aware of / avoid etc... Does it just listen for input? (i.e.: mouse moves, keys pressed and so on)

    so in classic MVVM examples ive seen DataTemplate definitions are used to map up View Models to Views, what is the standard way to do this in MVVM Light framework, and where should the mappings be located? Following are examples of what I'm doing now and what I'm talking about, blendability is important to me!     hello guys, i ve got a problem with my programm. here is the link: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2734432/TabbedInterface.7z once u have opened both tabs, u ll start loosing the references to other collections of the current item in the view. that is because these ids are nullable and once you switch over to the other tab they ll become null. my question is why and how can i corrent that behavoir? if you change the int? to int there are no more problem, but i need them to be nullable!

  • How can I use Window.ShowActivated = false with Maximized window?

    I have an application that has a splash screen shown before I create my main window. I want to avoid the main window stealing the focus when it gets created if the user has focused another application while the splash screen was shown. My application's startup looks like this: private void Application_Startup(object sender, StartupEventArgs e) { SplashScreenService.Start(); // Initializing stuff... ... // Ready to open the main window. MainWindow mainWindow = MainWindow(); mainWindow.ShowActivated = SplashScreenService.HasFocus(); mainWindow.ShowDialog(); } To prevent the main window from getting activated, I'm setting Window.ShowActivated to false, only if the splash screen has lost the focus. But this causes an exception: InvalidOperationException: Cannot show Window when ShowActivated is false and WindowState is set to Maximized. Indeed, my MainWindow sets the WindowState to Maximized (restored from previous session settings). I don't understand why there is such a limitation with the ShowActivated feature. I couldn't find any documentation about this issue. I tried forcing WindowState to Normal when ShowActivated is false, and it prevents the exception, but it also activates the window! Maybe changing the window state actually causes an activation? Is there a trick I can use to work around this? I want to restore my main window in a maximized state, and not have the main window steal focus away from other applications if the user has focused away from my app during the splash screen.

  • How can a separator be added between items in an ItemsControl

    I'm needing to display a list of numbers from a collection in an Items Control. So the items are: "1", "2", "3". When they are rendered, I need them separated by a comma (or something similar). So the above 3 items would look like this: "1, 2, 3". How can I add a separator to the individual items, without having one tacked on the end of the list? I am not stuck on using an ItemsControl, but that's what I had started to use.

    So i have a listbox: <ListBox x:Name="listbox" HorizontalAlignment="Left" Margin="8,8,0,8" Width="272" BorderBrush="{x:Null}" Background="{x:Null}" Foreground="{x:Null}" ItemsSource="{Binding MenuItems}" ItemTemplate="{DynamicResource MenuItemsTemplate}" SelectionChanged="ListBox_SelectionChanged" SelectedItem="{Binding SelectedItem}"> </ListBox> and i have this included in my viewmodel: public ObservableCollection<MenuItem> MenuItems { get { return menuitems; } set { menuitems = value; NotifyPropertyChanged("MenuItems"); } } public MenuItem SelectedItem { get { return selecteditem; } set { selecteditem = value; NotifyPropertyChanged("SelectedItem"); } } and also in my viewmodel: public void UpdateStyle() { ActiveHighlight = SelectedItem.HighlightColor; ActiveShadow = SelectedItem.ShadowColor; } So, the objective is to call UpdateStyle() whenever selectedchanged event is fired. So in the .CS file, i call UpdateStyle(). The problem is, whenever I get into the selectionchanged event method, my ViewModel.SelectedItem is always null. I tried debugging this to see if the binding was working correctly, and it is. When I click on an item in the listbox, the SelectedItem Set is triggered, setting the value... but somewhere inbetween that and the selected changed (In the CS File) It gets reset to Null. Can anyone help out? Thanks

  • RDLC: How to print multiple tables in one report

    I'm generating the RDLC XML schema and showing the report in the ReportViewer control. No problems there. Now, I want a report with 2 tables, with 2 differents dataset. Something like this gets generated: <Body> <ReportItems> <Table Name="Table1"> .... </Table> <Table Name="Table2"> .... </Table> </ReportItems> </Body> But, when printed, both tables start from the top, printing one table over the other (not nice) Is there a way to tell that Table2 should start after Table1? Update: I've tried with List with a fake DataSource, but it does not work.

    I have a DispatcherTimer running in my code that fire every 30 seconds to update system status from the server. The timer fires in the client even if I'm debugging my server code so if I've been debugging for 5 minutes I may end up with a dozen timeouts in the client. Finally decided I needed to fix this so looking to make a more async / await friendly DispatcherTimer. Code running in DispatcherTimer must be configurable whether it is reentrant or not (i.e. if the task is already running it should not try to run it again) Should be task based (whether or not this requires I actually expose Task at the root is a gray area) Should be able to run async code and await on tasks to complete Whether it wraps or extends DispatcherTimer probably doesn't really matter but wrapping it may be slightly less ambiguous if you don't know how to use it Possibly expose bindable properties for IsRunning for UI

    I have xbap which needs to run on a full trust mode because my application needs to upload a file from the client machine to process. I have to provide a installation steps to install. If i do it as a click one instillation, do i still get a security error? If so what is the best way to resolve it? If i install it in remote server, I saw couple of options in internet like creating certificates and ask user to import this certificate. Other option is to ask the user to allow access to xbap applications which provides access to all xbap applications (not so good). what is best way? It would be really great, if some could provide me the installation steps for both scenarios.

    Hi, I get this error when I define my attached dependency properties in a class outside the class hierarchy and set the owner to a common parent class. Attached dependency property in WindowBase class (outside class hierarchy = generated error): public static readonly DependencyProperty AreaColorProperty = DependencyProperty.RegisterAttached("AreaColor", typeof(AreaColor), typeof(Window)); TemplateBinding that fails {TemplateBinding local:WindowBase.AreaColor} If I instead define the attached dependency property in a class within the class heirarchy and set the owner to this class, then I don't get any errors, why is this?     This binding <tk:DataGridTextColumn Binding="{Binding Path=Id, Mode=OneWay}" Header="Sale No." Width="1*" /> Gives this error A TwoWay or OneWayToSource binding cannot work on the read-only property 'Id' of type . . . The "Id" property is indeed readonly, I thought though that Mode=OneWay would be sufficient.     How can I make developers follow coding standards? In our company: I've given documents and they don't have the patience to read it and follow it. I've tried telling them again and again "please do it this way" they nod their heads, but still do it the wrong way We're doing a project for the third time and still they don't seem to follow it properly. I'm now so tired of this. What is the best way to set standards for coding and make sure they follow them? Edit: There are just about 10 developers in my team. They're over pressurized and do not take the time to put comments and do the code neatly since there's more pressure to complete the product from our management. What would be the solution for this?

I also see the call to the InternalConverter.Convert method, which sees the expected parameters (I see the collection provided by the nested {Binding}) and is successfully able to retrieve the ICollectionView for the incoming collection. The only problem is that FilterInternal never gets called. The template is ultimately being used by a TreeView, if that's relevant. I haven't been able to figure out why the FilterInternal method is not being called and I was hoping somebody might be able to offer some insight.

I have checked i do have the most recent version of flash installed correctly.   • Memory leak on CollectionView.View.Refresh

    I have defined my binding thus: <TreeView ItemsSource="{Binding UsersView.View}" ItemTemplate="{StaticResource MyDataTemplate}" /> The CollectionViewSource is defined thus: private ObservableCollection<UserData> users; public CollectionViewSource UsersView{get;set;} UsersView=new CollectionViewSource{Source=users}; UsersView.SortDescriptions.Add( new SortDescription("IsLoggedOn",ListSortDirection.Descending); UsersView.SortDescriptions.Add( new SortDescription("Username",ListSortDirection.Ascending); So far, so good, this works as expected: The view shows first the users that are logged on in alphabetical order, then the ones that are not. However, the IsLoggedIn property of the UserData is updated every few seconds by a backgroundworker thread and then the code calls: UsersView.View.Refresh(); on the UI thread. Again this works as expected: users that log on are moved from the bottom of the view to the top and vice versa. However: Every time I call the Refresh method on the view the application hoards 3,5MB of extra memory, which is only released after application shutdown (or after an OutOfMemoryException...) I did some research and below is a list of fixes that did NOT work: The UserData class implements INotifyPropertyChanged Changing the underlying users collection does not make any difference at all: any IENumerable<UserData as a source for the CollectionViewSource causes the problem. -Changing the ColletionViewSource to a List<UserData (and refreshing the binding) or inheriting from ObservableCollection to get access to the underlying Items collection to sort that in place does not work. I am out of ideas! Help? EDIT: I found it: The Resource MyDataTemplate contains a Label that is bound to a UserData object to show one of its properties, the UserData objects being handed down by the TreeView's ItemsSource. The Label has a ContextMenu defined thus: <ContextMenu Background="Transparent" Width="325" Opacity=".8" HasDropShadow="True"> <PrivateMessengerUI:MyUserData IsReadOnly="True" > <PrivateMessengerUI:MyUserData.DataContext> <Binding Path="."/> </PrivateMessengerUI:MyUserData.DataContext> </PrivateMessengerUI:MyUserData> </ContextMenu> The MyUserData object is a UserControl that shows All properties of the UserData object. In this way the user first only sees one piece of data of a user and on a right click sees all of it. When I remove the MyUserData UserControl from the DataTemplate the memory leak disappears! How can I still implement the behaviour as specified above?
