• How to call windows authentication programmatically in sharepoint?

  Hi guys, Here is my scenario. When anonymous user visits site collection's default site, custom login form panel is shown. This form is a webUserControl(.ascx file) that is embeded into page as webpart. Then user enters username and password. When submit button has been clicked, authentication will be handled by code behind of custom login form panel. Here is my question. How can I call SharePoint's authentication method with the username and password that is entered by user. Simply, I want users to login through my custom login form panel because default windows authentication window is looking really bad.

  I need to extract Voip log from a D-Link router, so I've setup a little python script that executes a command in this router via telnet. My script does a "cat /var/log/calls.log" and returns the result, however... it also sends non-important stuff, like the BusyBox banner, etc... How can I ignore lines from 1 to 6 and the last 2 ? This is my current output: yaba@foobar:/stuff$ python calls.py BusyBox v1.00 (2009.04.09-11:17+0000) Built-in shell (msh) Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.   In my android app, I'm setting an alarm that I want to occur repeatedly, hence using AlarmManager.setRepeating(). I don't want to keep track of whether the alarm is set myself (sounds like a bad idea that's prone to fail at some point), and there seems to be no API support for checking whether a particular alarm is already set for a given Intent. Hence, I am pessimistically resetting the alarm each time my app activates: alarmManager.cancel(pendingIntent); ... alarmManager.setRepeating(..., pendingIntent); Question: is calling setRepeating() idempotent i.e. do I need to explicitly cancel() any prior alarm or can I safely just call setRepeating() and be done with it?

• Why is WPFToolkit DataGrid so slow when binding?

  I have a very simple test application where I have two objects, each with a small collection of items. when I select an object I display its collection in a WPFToolkit DataGrid. The problem is there is a noticeable delay, such that if you press up/down keys to toggle selection between objects you can see it can't keep up. • Push DVCS repository to master without needing codebase

  To work on a client's staging environment I have to connect through a VPN which locks all normal network traffic and prevents any connection to the Internet. This would immediately prevent any of the "normal" VCS solutions from being used as it's not possible to gain access to the server. A solution to this would be to create a DVCS repository (git?) locally and then push changes to the master, as and when needed. There is one flaw in this plan. The entire codebase is around 14GB. To download all of this over the internet would take some time, especially when I'm likely to be working on 3 or 4 different machines in each case. This seems silly and overkill for a DVCS. TL;DR Can any DVCS solution allow you to push to a master server/repo without needing the codebase? Bad example: copy the .git folder (not the 14GB codebase) to another directory and push this to the master once disconnected from the VPN.

  I am trying to come up with a function that does a good job of sanitizing certain strings so that they are safe to use in the URL (like a post slug) and also safe to use as file names. For example, when someone uploads a file I want to make sure that I remove all dangerous characters from the name. • WPF assign Z-Order of owned windows without changing focus.

  Hi, Due to OpenGL airspace issues I have several windows that are owned by the main window but look and act like controls. I also have some data readout/sort windows that show real-time data and need to be normal floating windows, also owned by the main window so that they remain floating above the main window even while operations are performed in the main window. The issue: I open a data readout window (normal window) and am watching data change. Then I click on a text box to enter a value in one of the windows that acts as a control due to airspace issues, and it becomes activated, covering up my data readout window. This is bad because the airspace window is supposed to act like it is part of the main window. I tried some tricks with Activation and Deactivation, and it looks ok but then editing the airspace window at all is impossible because WPF only lets me edit the activated window. How can I ask that normal data readout window to please stay above all other windows owned by the main window, but still let other windows receive focus?

Whenever I tried to open a .class file, the standard "Source not found" editor would show, displaying lowlevel bytecode disassembly, not the Java source output you'd expect from a decompiler.   Hi. I'm trying to install wampserver on my windows xp pc. It is throwing this error: C:\wamp\wampmanager.exe An error occurred while trying to rename a file in the destination directory: MoveFile failed; code 2. El sistema no puede hallar el archivo especificado. Click Retry to try again, Ignore to skip this file (not recommended), or Abort to cancel installation. First time on this error I tried to retry but it threw the error again and again. If I decide to ignore, then the installation finishes and all the files are correct but the exe to open wampserver. I tried to copy from one pc to other and I couldn't event paste it in the destination folder. Please healp me. Sorry for my bad english and thank you in advance

• Visual C#, Large Arrays, and LOH Fragmentation. What is the accepted convention?

  I have an other active question HERE regarding some hopeless memory issues that possibly involve LOH Fragmentation among possibly other unknowns. What my question now is, what is the accepted way of doing things? If my app needs to be done in Visual C#, and needs to deal with large arrays to the tune of int[4000000], how can I not be doomed by the garbage collector's refusal to deal with the LOH? It would seem that I am forced to make any large arrays global, and never use the word "new" around any of them. So, I'm left with ungraceful global arrays with "maxindex" variables instead of neatly sized arrays that get passed around by functions. I've always been told that this was bad practice. What alternative is there? Is there some kind of function to the tune of System.GC.CollectLOH("Seriously") ? Are there possibly some way to outsource garbage collection to something other than System.GC? Anyway, what are the generally accepted rules for dealing with large (85Kb) variables?

  Hello World, I have a class Movie in it i have a start Date, a duration and a stop Date. Start and stop Date are Date Objects (private Date startDate ...) (It's an assignment so i cant change that) now i want to automatically calculate the stopDate by adding the duration (in min) to the startDate. By my knowledge working with the time manipulating functions of Date is deprecated hence bad practice but on the other side i see no way to convert the Date object to a calendar object in order to manipulate the time and reconvert it to a Date object. Is there a way? And if there is what would be best practice Thanks in advance Samuel

• Slow select when inserting large amounts of data (MYSQL)

  I have a process that imports a lot of data (950k rows) using inserts that insert 500 rows at a time. The process generally takes about 12 hours, which isn't too bad. Normally doing a query on the table is pretty quick (under 1 second) as I've put (what I think to be) the proper indexes in place. The problem I'm having is trying to run a query when the import process is running. It is making the query take almost 2 minutes! What can I do to make these two things not compete for resources (or whatever)? I've looked into "insert delayed" but not sure I want to change the table to MyISAM. Thanks for any help!

  I mean... could I also just create a plain old UIViewController and then set up a UITableView myself, plus an NSFetchedResultsController? How much do UITableViewController and NSFetchedResultsController interact with eachother? As far as I see it, UITableViewController is NOT by default already adopting the NSFetchedResultsControllerDelegate protocol. It almost looks like if UITableViewController has been developed without knowing about NSFetchedResultsController. Probably they even did that before developing FRC. Anyways, just a raw guess because the UITableViewController lacks of mentioning FRC at all. So the only thing I see in UITableViewController is that it is already the delegate for a UITableView by adopting the protocol, and it sets up the UITableView instance for me and assigns it internally to it's tableView property. Is that the whole magic of UITableViewController? (note: the nsfetchedresultscontrolle tag is not a typo. SO has a limit for the num of chars...too bad for that missing r, that's why I avoided this tag in my other buch of questions like the plague)

  There is a strange thing on my server which has a mysql running on it. The QPS is more than 4000 but TPS is less than 20. The server load is more than 80 and cpu usr is more than 86% but iowait is less than 8%. The disk iops is more than 16000 and util of disk is more than 99%. When the QPS decreases, the load decreases, the cpu iowait increases. • How to return model state from child action handler in ASP.NET MVC

  In my blog engine, I have one controller action that displays blog content, and in that view, I call Html.RenderAction(...) to render the "CreateComment" form. When a user posts a comment, the post is handled by the comment controller (not the blog controller). If the comment data is valid, I simply return a Redirect back to the blog page's URL. If the comment data is invalid (e.g. comment body is empty), I want to return the ViewData with the error information back to the blog controller and through the blog view to the CreateComment action/view so I can display which fields are bad. I have this working fine via AJAX when Javascript is enabled, but now I'm working on the case where Javascript might be disabled. If I return a RedirecToAction or Redirect from the comment controller, the model state information is lost. Any ideas?

• IP Address Lookup in VB.net (XP vs Windows 7)

  Currently I use the following code to retrieve the IP address of the local workstation... strIPAddress = System.Net.Dns.GetHostEntry(strComputerName).AddressList(0).ToString() This is fine for the Windows XP workstations. However, in Vista and Windows 7, this returns the IPv6 address which is not used at all. Is there a method of setting this to work so it always returns the IPv4 address regardless of platform? I know I can increment the AddressList value to 1 and get the correct IP in Windows 7. The bad part is that this requires going through the motions of identifying the OS and choosing one or the other. The must be some way of specifying IPv4 only. Perhaps getting a result from DNS on the network rather than the workstation itself?

  I'm using the RxTx library over usbserial on a Linux distro. The RxTx lib seems to behave quite differently (in a bad way) than how it works over serial. One of my biggest problems is that the RxTx SerialPortEvent.OUTPUT_BUFFER_EMPTY does not work on linux over usbserial. How do I know when I should write to the stream? Any indicators I might have missed? So far my experience with writing and reading concurrently have not been great. Does anyone know if I should lock the DATA_AVAILABLE handler from being invoked while I'm writing on the stream? Or RxTx accepts concurrent read/writes? Thanks in advance

  I'm updating the IDs with new IDs, but I need to retain the same ID for the master record in table A and its dependents in table B. The chunk bracketed by comments is the part I can't figure out. I need to update all the records in table B that share the same ID with the current record I'm looking at for table A. • .gitconfig error

  I edited my .gitconfig file to add support for LabView and it appears that I did something that Git doesn't exactly like. The problem is it (Git) doesn't tell me what it doesn't like. What did I do wrong? • UITextView text disappear

  Hi, i create an uitextview dynamically then i write my text into it. Sometime, when i create the uitextview, the cursor disappear and i see no text in it. If i run the application again, i can see the text inside the textview that i've created before. I've tried to set the cursor position to zero or scroll the text to the top but it doesn't work... Any suggestion? Here is a screen capture.   Hi all, I am writing a test application for Microsoft CryptoAPI. I want to export the secret key of one party using the public key of the second party, and then import that secret key as the second party's secret key (this sets up a shared secret key for communication). The public keypair is being generated for both encryptT and decryptT (sender, receiver) by calling: CryptGenKey(encryptT->hCryptProv, CALG_RSA_KEYX, CRYPT_EXPORTABLE, &(encryptT->hPubKey)) Any idea what could be causing the error?   If I have the following pylons controller: def challange(self): response.status = '401 Unauthorized' return 'You are not logged in.' I would expect to see 'You are not logged in.' But I see : Unauthorized This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document you requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser does not understand how to supply the credentials required. WSGI Server I have disabled the pylons error middleware. But the wsig server seems to be modifying the response. How do I stop this?

• Is there an "opposite" to the null coalescing operator? (…in any language?)

  null coalescing translates roughly to return x, unless it is null, in which case return y I often need return null if x is null, otherwise return x.y I can use return x == null ? null : x.y; Not bad, but that null in the middle always bothers me -- it seems superfluous. I'd prefer something like return x :: x.y;, where what follows the :: is evaluated only if what precedes it is not null. I see this as almost an opposite to null coalescence, kind of mixed in with a terse, inline null-check, but I'm [almost] certain that there is no such operator in C#. Are there other languages that have such an operator? If so, what is it called? (I know that I can write a method for it in C#; I use return NullOrValue.of(x, () => x.y);, but if you have anything better, I'd like to see that too.)

• Searchengine bots and meta refresh for disabled Javascript

  Hi! I have a website that must have javascript turned on so it can work there is a < noscript tag that have a meta to redirect the user to a page that alerts him about the disabled javascript... I am wondering, is this a bad thing for search engine crawlers? Because I send an e-mail to myself when someone doesn't have js so I can analyze if its necessary to rebuild the website for these people, but its 100% js activated and the only ones that doesn't have JS are searchengines crawlers... I guess google, yahoo etc doesn't take the meta refresh seriously when inside a < noscript ? Should I do something to check if they are bots and do not redirect them with meta? Thanks, Joe
