  • Problem creating checklist (similar to TouchCells sample code) app for iPhone. Random cells get chec

    I've been having a problem creating a checklist in the style of the TouchCells example from the Apple sample code. Basically, it is a table that allows multiple selection of its items and gives each selected item a check mark. The problem I'm having is that when I select an item and then scroll down the screen, another item (off the screen) will randomly be selected. It seems that it is usually the next cell to be loaded on the screen. I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong so I tested it with Apple's TouchCells code. In their program though, they only have 6 cells and there is no room to scroll. So, I duplicated some of the items from the plist file to make more cells and... the same problem pops up. If you select a cell and then scroll, another cell will randomly be selected. Update I recently tried the iPhone Dev Cookbook sample code named "Checks" and... you guessed it, the same problem.     I'm trying to export 2 values from every single item from the combo box field. I have found two methods to insert items into a combo box: 1) insertItemAt http://www.verypdf.com/document/acrobat-forms-javascript/pg_0048.htm 2) setItems http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9/Acrobat9_HTMLHelp/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhelp.htm?context=Acrobat9_HTMLHelp&file=JS_API_AcroJS.88.748.html but neither method allows two parameters (im always get "missing ) after argument list" error from the Acrobat JavaScript Debugger) Does anyone know of a better solution for this problem?   • Calculation route length

    Hi, I have a map with about 80 annotations. I would like to do 3 things. 1) From my current location, I would like to know the actual route distance to that position. Not the linear distance. 2) I want to be able to show a list of all the annotations, but for every annotation (having lon/lat) I would like to know the actual route distance from my position to that position. 3) I would like to know the closest annotation to my possition using route distance. Not linear distance. I think the answer to all these three points will be the same. But please keep in mind that I don't want to create a route, I just want to know the distance to the annotation.     Hi, I'm loading opengl 3d objects over the iphone camera view. When opengl view is loaded it's loading with a opengl 3d object with black background. The black background color will block the camera view.I just want to clear background color of opengl view so that I could load only the 3d object to the camera view. I had tried glclearcolor(1.0,1.0,1.0,0.0); but no change to background color. I had also tried to clear background color opengl view using [glview setbackgroundColor:[UIColor clearColor]];. No change in back ground color. Can any one help me with this stuff ? I'm new to opengl. Thanks in advance

  • Object created in Interface Builder getting dealloc'ed too soon

    The Project I'm working on a relatively simple iPhone OS project that's navigation controller based, with a root table view and a detail table view. Tap an item in the main list to see its details in a pushed table view. The Setup I broke out the data source for both views into their own objects so as not to muddy the purpose of a view controller. Having done this, the table views no longer have data sources since those methods are now in separate files, so I created an instance of each data source class in the appropriate XIB files with the Object item (dragged it in, then set its class). Then, to actually connect the tableviews to their data sources, I set the dataSource outlet of each tableview to the yellow data source object in Interface Builder. The table view delegates are still set to their view controllers. The Problem The root table view works just fine, but when you tap a row to push to the detail view, the data source object gets instantiated as expected, then immediately dealloc'ed, causing a crash (numberOfSectionsInTableView: gets called on the freed object). I can't figure out why the data source is getting automatically dealloc-ed when I need it right then and there for the detail view, as indicated by my data source object creation and tableview connection in Interface Builder. What's more perplexing is that the very approach works fine for the root tableview! The Question Is there anything obvious I'm missing that would cause this to happen? Or, is this even the right way to instantiate a data source for a table view controller? It seems like poor object oriented programming to do it from within the view controller, which should only be concerned with the view. I could cram everything in two table view controller classes and it would probably work, but it would not be as modular as I'd like. Thanks!

    I'm trying to create an NSPredicate to find 'projects' that contain 'sessions' within a certain date range. I tried this at first: [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"ANY sessions.date BETWEEN {$STARTDATE, $ENDDATE}"]; But I get an exception: *** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: 'to-many key not allowed here' It seems BETWEEN does not work with ANY in this way. I'm also limited in use of () and AND clauses meaning I can't use something like: [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"ANY (sessions.date > $STARTDATE && sessions.date < $ENDDATE)"]; If I try that I get a parse error. How can I do this? Thanks UPDATE: Note that this: [NSPredicate predicateWithFormat:@"ANY sessions.date > $STARTDATE && ANY sessions.date < $ENDDATE"]; Is incorrect because it returns a project where there is a session greater than the start date and another session less than the end date but no session in between.

  • iPhone Advanced table view cells example

    I have been going through and re-creating Apple's "Advanced Table View Cells" example to better understand everything. I have done everything, but somehow missed one detail and I can't figure it out. If you launch their example (http://developer.apple.com/iphone/library/samplecode/AdvancedTableViewCells/Introduction/Intro.html) and open up the RootViewController.xib file, they have a "tableView" outlet on the inspector that is linked to File's Owner. For whatever reason, I can't get that to show up on my version. My code is almost verbatim of Apple's, so what am I missing? Did I not declare that somewhere or doesn't that get taken from the RootViewController.m file?

  • XCode 3.2 does not mark unit test assert failures in the editor

    I've been off in Java land for about a month or so and now, upon returning to XCode I feel lost. I've upgraded 1st to 3.1.2 then recently to 3.2 and also got a new Mac with Snow Leopard so I'm not exactly sure when the problem surfaced. I just know that I used to get little red bubbles in my unit test next to the failing asserts and that no longer seems to happen. Is there a way to restore this? I've been trying to use Apple's own SenTesting framework instead of GoogleTools for mac like I used to. Should I revert to Google Tools? Does anyone have an answer?

  • Wanted: How to reliably, consistently select an MKMapView annotation

    After calling MKMapView's setCenterCoordinate:animated: method (without animation), I'd like to call selectAnnotation:animated: (with animation) so that the annotation pops out from the newly-centered pushpin. For now, I simply watch for mapViewDidFinishLoadingMap: and then select the annotation. However, this is problematic. For instance, this method isn't called when there's no need to load additional map data. In those cases, my annotation isn't selected. :( Very well. I could call this immediately after setting the center coordinate instead. Ahh, but in that case it's possible that there is map data to load (but it hasn't finished loading yet). I'd risk calling it too soon, with the animation becoming spotty at best. Thus, if I understand correctly, it's not a matter of knowing if my coordinate is visible, since it's possible to stray almost a screenful of distance and have to load new map data. Rather, it's a matter of knowing if new map data needs to be loaded, and then acting accordingly. Any ideas on how to accomplish this, or how to otherwise (reliably) select an annotation after re-centering the map view on the coordinate where that annotation lives? Clues appreciated - thanks!

  • Is it possible to add a New Project Wizard with a VSPackage?

    I have a VSPackage for Visual Studio 2008 that I created for adding some editor and custom language functionality. I also have a need to add a new project/solution wizard to create a new Solution and a complex series of C++ projects to the solution. I know I can do this using a "Custom Wizard", but I would be much happier if I can implement this within my VSPackage using C# instead. So I guess the main question is, is it possible to add an entry to the Project Types dialogs in Visual Studio from a VSPackage? Or is the "Custom Wizard" and JScript my only option here? And if it's possible, where can I find information and/or samples on how to accomplish this?

    This tutorial on mobileorchard.com uses 2 classes (or 2 sets of .h and .m) to implement core location. Can I just use everything there in my existing class? How would I do that? Also, is the - (id) init { self = [super init]; if (self != nil) { self.locationManager = [[[CLLocationManager alloc] init] autorelease]; self.locationManager.delegate = self; // send loc updates to myself } return self; } method the same as the usual initWithNib?
