    I am trying to read an excel 2007 file (using OLEDB) that has dates in the UK format. The server is (sometimes) set to US format and so the normal date format problems are in play. This is my connection string: Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Data Source=myfile.xlsx;Extended Properties="Excel 12.0 Xml;HDR=NO;IMEX=1" I want to ensure that the file is always opened using the en-GB culture. Is there a way to specify the culture using the connection string?

    Ive managed to get asp.net mvc up and running on an iis6 server, but I keep getting silly messages like 'System.Web.Mvc.HtmlHelper' does not contain a definition for 'RenderPartial' I've got all the required dlls and even installed mvc from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=c9ba1fe1-3ba8-439a-9e21-def90a8615a9&displaylang=en any clues about what Im missing?   • Django Admin Actions missing

    One of my Django sites is missing the Django Admin Action bar shown here: http://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/ref/contrib/admin/actions/#ref-contrib-admin-actions There is no checkbox next to each row and no Action select box near the top of the page. This is happening on every model. I have several sites running Django 1.1, and they all show the Admin Actions, so it feels like a local configuration issue. Anyone seen this before?

    Microsoft recommends not to use 'gethostname' on IPv6 and instead use 'getaddrinfo' or 'getnameinfo'. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms899604.aspx But 'gethostname' doesn't seem to have any problem working on IPv6. Does anyone know any reason why 'gethostname' is not recommended on IPv6?

    I've been looking at implementing the new VerificationController to verify in-App-Purchases: http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/#releasenotes/StoreKit/IAP_ReceiptValidation/_index.html And I wonder if there is some example anywhere en how to validate a transaction, since it seems that the - (BOOL)verifyPurchase:(SKPaymentTransaction *)transaction; is not enough and it has to be implemented internally to verify the purchase when the data form the server is received. Another question is if anyone has a clue on what the KNOWN_TRANSACTIONS_KEY is and how to fill it, is it just the product id of the purchase?

    We have a managed app, that uses an assembly. That assembly uses some unmanaged C++ code. The Managed C++ code is in a dll, that depends on several other dlls. All of those Dlls are loaded by this code. As near as I can understand it, as soon as we attempt to use an ImageDoc object, the dll that contains that assembly is loaded and as part of that load, the static constructor is called which in turn causes several other DLLs to be loaded as well. What I'm trying to figure out, is how do we defer loading of those DLLs so that we don't run smack dab into this loader lock that is being kicked out because of the static constructor. I would prefer to not have to put this kind of knowledge of the dlls into every app that uses this assembly. (And I'm not sure that would even fix the problem.... The strange thing is that the exception only appears to be happening while running within the debugger, not while running outside the debugger.

    I just installed CUnit on Snow Leopard with MacPorts/DarwinPorts. The installed worked fine after installing the "Snow Leopard compatible" version of MacPorts. However, I get en error when trying to run och unit tests: dyld: Symbol not found: _acs_map Referenced from: /opt/local/lib/libcunit.1.dylib Expected in: flat namespace in /opt/local/lib/libcunit.1.dylib Trace/BPT trap Has anyone come across this problem or has anyone successfully got CUnit working on Snow Leopard some other way?

    After running chkdsk C: /F /R and finding out that my hard disk has 24 KB in bad sectors (log is posted below), I decided to run Windows 7's System File Checker utility (sfc /scannow). SFC showed the ff. message after I ran it: "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log." I'm not too good with regex so maybe I am missing something?     I am using msdb..sp_help_job to access whether a job succeeded or failed and can retrieve a general error. But, I want to access the specific error for the step that failed. I cannot seem to find it. It is not in this list of helpful stored procedures provided by MS http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms187763%28v=SQL.100%29.aspx The account running the query is limited but does have the SQLUserAgent role and owns the Jobs that it is accessing.

    hola, ando teniendo un problema al instalar los drivers de la placa de video. Apenas termino de instalar los driver, reinicio mi sistema operativo, y al iniciar mi monitor queda apagado en modo ahorro de energia y UBUNTU no inicia. ¿Que puedo hacer?.
