• codeigniter problem with mod_rewrite on apache 1.3

  Anybody came into this before? Hosting a site on godaddy, the site is developed in codeigniter framework(php), to get pretty url, put this into .htacess RewriteEngine on RewriteCond $1 !^(index\.php|images|robots\.txt) RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php/$1 [L] problem is only domain.com/index.php seems to work, other urls e.g domain.com/user/login won't work, codeigniter always returns '404 page'. Is there anything going on with godaddy's mod_rewrite or just their apache which as I know is version 1.3. Any clue? [update] a bit CI debug, found /system/libraries/Router.php line 239, line show_404( $segments[0] ); always gets invoded. $segments [ 0='index.php' ], that seems to be the problem, but why? All works on my dev box which is in apache2

  Hi, We are doing the following in the Application_Start (Global.ascx.cs) for a WCF Service hosted by IIS 7.0 (integrated pipeline). var mapperConfigurations = AppDomain.CurrentDomain.GetAssemblies() .SelectMany(a => a.GetExportedTypes().Where(t => typeof (IMapperConfiguration).IsAssignableFrom(t) && t.IsClass)) .ToList(); The web-service has 8-10 assemblies in its bin folder and each of them have multiple implementations of IMapperConfiguration. After an IIS Reset, no mapper configurations are found (found this using debug.write). However, this behaviour is inconsistent and at other times all implementations of IMapperConfiguration are found. When exactly does IIS load assemblies and what is wrong with this code? Thanks

  Here is some actual code I'm trying to debug: BEGIN OPEN bservice (coservice.prod_id); FETCH bservice INTO v_billing_alias_id, v_billing_service_uom_id, v_summary_remarks; CLOSE bservice; v_service_found := 1; -- An empty fetch is expected for some services. EXCEPTION WHEN OTHERS THEN v_service_found := 0; END; When the parametrized cursor bservice(prod_id) is empty, it fetches NULL into the three variables and does not throw an exception. So whoever wrote this code expecting it to throw an exception was wrong, right? The comment seems to imply that and empty fetch is expected and then it sets a flag for later handling, but I think this code cannot possibly have been tested with empty sets either. Obviously, it should use bservice%NOTFOUND or bservice%FOUND or similar.

I know that this can be done in many ways (such as YUI), but for debug purposes I'd like to simply be able to view a JSON objects I receive from a server as a tree, nothing fancy (but collapsable tree's would be a bonus). • passing session id via url

  I'm trying to get my script to use url session id instead of cookies. The following page is not picking up the variable in the url as the session id. I must be missing something. • Netbeans not Dploying/Debugging

  Hello all, I have this problem, it's the second time it happens to me, I'm using the NB IDE 6.9.1 and after a while I was working fine, but then It stopped deploying my webapp when debugging or running the application, I don't recall messing with the ant build scripts or any strange configurations, it successfully builds the dist folder and *.war file, but I cannot debug it or run it, all I get is ClassNotFoundException for my servlets. I am unsure of what extra information would help to solve this issue Its pretty annoying, I don't know how it got solved the last time, it just "went away" any help is truly appreciated.

I am looking for a good ldap library on Django, that would allow me to manage my ldap server : adding, modifying, deleting entries for groups, users, and all kind of objects The library django-ldapdb looked promising, it offers a Model base class that can be used to declare ldap objects in a Django fashion (which is what we ideally want), however we've had some bugs with it, and furthermore it seems like it is not maintained any more. Does somebody know a good library that could do the trick ? Otherwise I guess I'll just try to improve and debug django-ldapdb ... Thanks !

• Mysterious logging.basicConfig problem (Python)

  I'm writing a Python script to retrieve data from Flickr. For logging purposes, I have the following setup function: def init_log(logfile): format = '%(asctime)s - %(levelname)s - %(message)s' logging.basicConfig(filename=logfile,level=logging.DEBUG,format=format) I've tested this using the python shell and it works as expected, creating a file if one doesn't already exist. But calling it from within my program is where it stops working. The function is definitely being called, and the logfile parameter is working properly – logging.basicConfig just isn't creating any file. I'm not even getting any errors or warnings. My use of the Python Flickr API may be the culprit, but I doubt it. Any ideas?

What Apache2 actually sends also includes a Content-Type: header (text/plain). I've commented out the DefaultType in the server configuration file. I'm trying to debug a downstream problem that arises when no Content-Type: header is sent. So what magic incantation do I have to perform to prevent Apache2 from adding the content type header?

• Clicking Elements in Android Doesn't Display the Correct Values

  I apologize if this code looks a bit like a mess (considering the length); I figured I'd just include everything that goes on in my program at the moment. I'm attempting to create a fairly simple Tic Tac Toe app for Android. I've set up my UI nicely so far so that there are a "grid" of TextViews. As a sort of "debug" right now, I have it so that when one clicks on a TextView, it should display the value of buttonId in a message box. Right now, it displays the correct assigned value for the first element I click, but no matter what I click afterwards, it always just displays the first value buttonID had. I attempted to debug it but couldn't exactly find a point where it would pull the old value (to the best of my knowledge, it reassigned the value). There's a good possibility I'm missing something small, because this is my first Android project (of any note). Can someone help get different values of buttonId to appear or point out the error in my logic?   I have some xml files, which are used in my application. They are stored in the same folder with application , in subfolder DATA: "C:\MyProject\DATA\". Why it looks for the DATA folder on 1 level higher?

• How to connect android application running on a device to a local web application?

  I have my droid device connected through USB and using Eclipse for debugging my application running on the device. Everything is fine, except my application needs to connect to a web application running on the same host computer (Windows XP, IE). The web address on the IE was "http://local:4566/MyApp/". I tried to set my android app to "http://10.0.2.2:4566/MyApp", but no luck. The android app's connection simply times out. The document under http://developer.android.com/guide/developing/tools/emulator.html says that the ip address may be different for devices (see Network Address Space section) but no further details on how to find that. Question is, how to I connect to a local web application running on my host computer (windows xp) from an Android application connected through USB running debug under Eclipse? • Windows using the DNS suffix search list on all lookups, even valid FQDNs. How to stop this?

  When doing DNS lookups (specifically using nslookup, for some reason most things are not effected) Windows XP Pro SP3 is using the DNS suffix search list for every single one. Even for fully qualified domain names. For example I lookup "www.microsoft.com" but windows actually asks for "www.microsoft.com.eondream.com" (eondream.com is my primary domain). Now I can fix the issue by removing the Primary DNS suffix, but it seems to me that the DNS suffix search list should be for short, invalid names (where dots=0 or something). I'm sure I have a misconfiguration somewhere in windows but I don't know where. I've changed every option I can think of or find. Below is the output of ipconfig /all and nslookup (with debug & db2 enabled). This is using a static IP & (internal) DNS server. • HTML5 video element non-seekable when using Django development server

  Hey everyone. I've got a Django app serving a webpage with an HTML5 element. There's a wierd "feature", turning the video element to be non-seekable: video.seekable returns a timeRanges object with length=0, whereas it should be length=1. This means I can't edit the video. JavaScript can't do anything either. The thing is, when I upload the problematic webpage, statically - no Django, just plain HTML/JS/CSS - to my website for testing, it works fine - length=1. However, if I try to serve the same static page on my Django dev server still gives the same problem. I am using Django's static serving for dev/debug purposes - Do you have any idea what is causing this, or how can I fix it? Thanks.

• Hudson's FindBugs plugin reports line number "-1" for bugs. Ideas?

  Greetings, I have a simple test project set up in Hudson and the project's build process (a batch file) generates a findbugs.xml file. This is processed by Hudson's FindBugs plugin but it shows the line number of the bugs as "-1" instead of their actual line number. A coworker suggested I enable debug info for the compiler. I used the -g "Generate all debugging info" option for javac but nothing seemed to change. My build command is: javac -g -classpath C:\testWebApp1\src -d C:\testWebApp1\build C:\testWebApp1\src\*.java The only other thing in the build.bat file is a call to the FindBug tool (text UI). Here is what the FindBugs Plugin says about the first bug: File: GenerateHellos.java, Line: -1, Type: UUF_UNUSED_FIELD, Priority: Normal, Category: PERFORMANCE Any ideas? Thanks a ton!

  This is slightly embarrassing. I'm a professional developer working at one of the big tech companies and I've never used a database. I've got an idea for a website I want to build as a learning experience and possibly as a business, but I don't have the faintest idea what database to use, let alone how to fix/debug the database when I run into problems. I'm looking for a course, a website, a book, etc., that will give me an overview of modern database technology (SQL vs. NOSQL vs. relational vs. non-relational (I only have a vague idea what these even mean)). I'm starting by googling/wikipediaing all of these terms, but if there are better, comprehensive resources available that I should be aware of, I'd love to hear about them.

• Cannot "Install New Software" in Eclipse 3.5

  I have just installed Eclipse 3.5 for Java EE developers ("Galileo"). I need to add an extra plugin, but when I select the "Install New Software ..." menu item, nothing happens. Literally nothing - no dialog opens, no error message is displayed. If I have the Debug window open, no message are displayed. If I go to Preferences - Install/Update - Available Software Sites, that dialog opens OK, I can manage the list of update sites, and test the connections, and they all appear OK. But I cannot get to use them to actually install anything. Is it just broken, or could there be something more subtle wrong? Thanks.

• How to write a build script for a C++ project

  I am developing a C++ application on Ubuntu. The application consists of several modules, each with its makefile. I want to have a customised command line build process that does the following: checks code out from a repository (for specified branch/tag) builds the app (release or debug as specified) logs any errors etc I am too lazy to learn Perl (I tried before, but cant seem to get my head around it). Are there any (preferably open source) tools anyone can suggest, or maybe a simpler scripting languuage - or do I really have to learn Perl?

• Visual Studio ate my toobar :'(

  Visual Studio ate my toolbar, I opened a solution for a project I've been working on for a few months, and the toolbar has 135 buttons on it, and while it was loading, the whole toolbar flickered like it was trying to give me a seizure or something, and then it dissappeared. Now when I click Debug, it won't let me do it because all the resources are missing!? I'm using: Visual Studio 2010 C# Express Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I have searched Google and found nothing related. I'm hoping that Visual Studio can also somehow make bowel movements so I can find those missing resources and put everything back together again, but I don't think that's a likely scenario... Has anybody ever experienced this before, and if so, are there any updates/fixes for this?

• How do I run D3D9 programs (that have already been compiled) on a machine without the SDK?

  I have a simple 3D application programmed in C++ and D3D9 using MSVC++ 2008 Express. Some weeks ago, I had to format my hard disk, so the DirectX SDK is not currently installed. However, I found that the exe file that I found in my "Debug" folder for the project does not run. The error it gives is: "This application has failed to start because d3dx9d_38.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." Of course, it worked after I installed the SDK. Then I compiled a "release build" thinking that that was the solution. Then I uninstalled the SDK and tried to run the .exe file. Still gave me the error. So how does one make such .exe files run on machines without the SDK?

  I'm compiling using android tools without eclipse. I compile launching "ant debug" from command line. I have found many many instructions around the web about how to remove with annoying warning, but I haven't been able to make any of them work. I've tried -D option, I've tried randomly tweaking build.* files, I've tried exporting an environment variable... nothing. I guess some of these methods just don't work, and some others would work but I've been doing them incorrectly. Anything is possible and I can't stand it any more: any advice on how to do it?

• A strange bug, is Mysql asynchronous?

  Hello, I have a strange bug. I launch a PHP Unit test Suite. At the beginning, it executes a big query to initialize the database. If I put a breakpoint just after the execution of the sql, there is no problem and my tests pass. If I don't put any break point, they don't pass and say that the tables don't exist! It works as if the sql query was asynchronous! Do you have an idea of the bug? Or how to debug that? Thanks a lot in advance for your help, I'm lost! Farf
