• Control ( UIButton, UILable) Hides when the Video plays Again on iPhone!

  Hi, I have displayed UIButton on top of Playing Movie using this code. NSArray *windows = [[UIApplication sharedApplication] windows]; if ([windows count] 1) { // Locate the movie player window UIWindow *moviePlayerWindow = [[UIApplication sharedApplication] keyWindow]; // Add our overlay view to the movie player's subviews so it is // displayed above it. [moviePlayerWindow addSubview:self.myABC]; } There are 2 buttons on top of my movie layer. They play different videos.Now the strange part is the video plays fine with buttons showing on top of it. When i press the button to play the other movie plays but the buttons doesnt show. Seems the view reloads and flushes all the Subviews. But i have checked it in the debug mode and it enters into the 'if' condition and this line runs [moviePlayerWindow addSubview:self.myABC]; But the buttons are not dislpayed. • A strange bug, is Mysql asynchronous?

  Hello, I have a strange bug. I launch a PHP Unit test Suite. At the beginning, it executes a big query to initialize the database. If I put a breakpoint just after the execution of the sql, there is no problem and my tests pass. If I don't put any break point, they don't pass and say that the tables don't exist! It works as if the sql query was asynchronous! Do you have an idea of the bug? Or how to debug that? Thanks a lot in advance for your help, I'm lost! Farf

• Android USB driver v2 vs v3? V3 doesnt see moto droid in device chooser?!?

  I can see my adp2 in ddms device chooser, but cant see Dave's droid. (used to be able to before updating to usb v3!). Can some smart person diff the inf files from usb v2 and v3 and see if they dropped the droid by mistake when they added the nexus? I can't think of any other reason why I cant see the droid in the device chooser. USB debug turned on, same debuggable app that runs on the 1.6 adp2. I'd like to be able to see the 2.1 device even if it has a red x by it!

• Constantly getting ...DeviceMonitor] Failed to start monitoring

  I find that after running or debugging my application a few times using eclipse, that I get the above output in my console (in red) and I get no feedback from Dalvik as to the connection status to my phone is going. My application will still debug etc. I just get nothing useful in my Console. Any ideas how to fix this? It appears intermittent. It starts doing it after a few minutes, continues to do it for quite a while and occasionally goes away again. This has happened on my last laptop and now on my new laptop with a completely fresh install etc.

• Code compiles etc. but just hangs on run.

  Hey guys, My program is meant to parse through a text file, extract relevant data and then save it in a SQL table. I compile it like so.. gcc -o parse parse.c -I/usr/include/mysql -L/usr/lib/mysql -lmysqlclient_r then I run it like so... ./parse > tweets.rss But it just hangs. it doesn't print any printf's I put in to debug. • Why doesn't my viewmodel properties get populated

  Hi. I've looked all over and I can't figure out why my viewmodel doesn't get populated. I have this code: Followers = new ObservableCollection<aspnet_User>(_followersRepo.aspnet_Users); _followersRepo.Load(_followersRepo.GetUsersFollowingIDQuery(CurrentUserId)); Following = new ObservableCollection<aspnet_User>(_followingRepo.aspnet_Users); _followingRepo.Load(_followingRepo.GetUsersFollowedByIDQuery(CurrentUserId)); CurrentUser = _fullUserRepo.FullUsers.SingleOrDefault(); _fullUserRepo.Load(_fullUserRepo.GetFullUserByIDQuery(CurrentUserId)); But when I debug, there is no data loaded to the Followers, Following and CurrentUser objects. I know that data should be returned because I'm trying to implement the MVVM pattern in my app, and haven't changed the domainservice. Also I can se debugging the CurrentUserId has a value.

• Sorting a listview (Win32/C++)

  I'm trying to sort a listview when the user clicks on the column header. I am catching the LVN_COLUMNCLICK notification like so: case LVN_COLUMNCLICK: { NMLISTVIEW* pListView = (NMLISTVIEW*)lParam; BOOL test = ListView_SortItems ( m_hDuplicateObjectsList, ListViewCompareProc, pListView->iSubItem ); break; } However it seems to fail. My test variable is FALSE and my ListViewCompareProc never gets hit (it has a simple return 1 while I am trying to hit a debug point inside of it). Is there something I am missing for sorting a listview?

• Cannot step into .NET framework source with VS2008 SP1.

  Somehow my VS2008 SP1 has lost the ability to step into .NET framework sources. I've played around with checkboxes to no end; I've re-deleted the Symbol cache folder a dozen times; and I've tried all kinds of debug symbol servers. All it does is download some .PDB files, but when I try to select a stack frame in .NET, I always get the message about no source available and "do you want to view disassembly". What gives? Added: Web application; Windows Vista Business x32; .NET 3.5 SP1.

• Background position image overlay (Works in IE, not in Mozilla/Chrome/Safari)

  Hi all, I am having an issue positioning a background image using the following jquery background position command in Firefox, Google Chrome, and Safari. The code works correctly in IE 8. $('#element).css({ backgroundPosition: 'xpx ypx' }); The x position of the image is calculated dynamically based on window size and the y position is static. The css appears to be modified correctly, however, the background image I am attempting to overlay is absent.   Hi all, I'm implementing a web service on the xfire plugin. I was wondering how I'm supposed to handle the errors. I tried with this setup but the error is not returned to the SOAP client: GaSession[] myMethod( String userId ) throws MyException{ GaUser user = GaUser.findByUserId( userId ) if (!user) throw new MyException("user ${userId} does not exist") // do stuff and return valid results } Is there a standard way to handle errors and return them to the client in a clear way? My log is full of messages like: 2010-06-13 18:20:40,926 [Thread-289] DEBUG aegis.XMLClassMetaInfoManager - Mapping file : /com/mycompany/MyClass.aegis.xml not found. Is there a way to fix this? • How to use SynonymFilterFactory in Solr?

  I'm trying to execute synonym filtering at query time so that if I search for X, results for Y also show up. I go to where Solr is being run, edit the .txt file and add X, Y on a new line. • DataContext Doesn't Exist in Dynamic Data Project?

  This is really annoying...and I know it is something extremely simple... 1. I create a new Dynamic Data project. 2. I add a LINQ-to-SQL class and drag and drop some tables onto the class. 3. I open the global.asax.vb and uncomment the line: DefaultModel.RegisterContext(GetType(YourDataContext), New ContextConfiguration() With {.ScaffoldAllTables = True}) I remove YourDataContext and replace it with the DataContext from my LINQ-to-SQL class: DefaultModel.RegisterContext(GetType(NorthwindDataContext), New ContextConfiguration() With {.ScaffoldAllTables = True}) I then try to debug/build/etc. and receive the following error: Type 'NorthwindDataContext' is not defined Why is it not defined? It seems like its not recognizing I created the DBML file.

• What do I put in my Ruby (JRuby) code to break into the debugger?

  I'm familiarizing myself with some JRuby code, and I'd like to be able to place a breakpoint in the code and run (as usual) from the command-line, having it break into the debugger when it gets to that point. Is there something I can put in my code to force JRuby to break into the debugger? I've tried running jruby -r debug foo.rb (instead of the usual jruby foo.rb), and then setting a breakpoint with b bar.py:98, and then continuing. But the debugger stops every time there's an exception, and there seem to be a lot of them before it gets to the line of code I'm interested in. I'd like to be able to put the "break-into-debugger" line(s) in my code and run jruby foo.rb and have the first place the debugger stops be at that line. (i.e. I'm looking for the Ruby/JRuby equivalent of import pdb;pdb.set_trace() in Python.)

• Spring / Hibernate project with Tomcat and JQuery.

  Hi, I have a Dynamic Web Project that implements Spring and Hibernate using a Tomcat Server (v6). I'm lauching Tomcat with my Eclipse Galileo and I'm not getting any errors in the console but Tomcat is rendering my webpages randomly. The page just keep loading but without displaying anything, there's nothing on the console either. When I go in debug mode, it goes throught the right steps, everything seems alright. When I display the source code on the web browser (Firefox latest build) it shows me the right code that is needed to display the page I called. What am I not getting here? Plus when I stop Tomcat, it renders a part of the page. I'm wondering if JQuery could be the problem? The thing is that it's a collaborative project and that the others managed to run the web application in the most alright way. Please, share your experience with me.

• Rspec > testing database views

  How can database views be tested in Rspec? Every scenario is wrapped in a transaction and the data does not look like it is being persisted to the database (MySQL in my case). My view returns with an empty result set because none of the records are being persisted in the transaction. I am validating that the records are not being stored by setting a debug point in my spec and checking my data with a database client while the spec is being debugged. The only way I can think to have my view work would be if I could commit the transaction before the end of the scenario and then clear the database after the scenario is complete. Does anyone know how to accomplish this or is there a better way? Thanks

  I have a visual studio load test which I want to run every hour so that I can start to collect some data. To do this, I thought it would be best to make a little powershell script and put a command like this inside: Invoke-Expression -command "& '$env:VS100COMNTOOLS..\IDE\mstest.exe' /testcontainer:"C:\Users\benb\Documents\Visual Studio 2010\Projects\BBPerformanceTest\bin\Debug\HomePageOnly.loadtest"" That command works fine, but sometimes when its run I get a blue screen of death. However, when I run my load test through the visual studio GUI, I never get a BSOD. two questions: is it possible to avoid this BSOD? Is there another way I can schedule my load test? Thanks

• symfony validation problem

  im testing symfony form validation. the problem is very simple. no matter what i put in the body text area and post it, i keep getting "Required" back. i dont know why. i just have one validation rule. here is the code: code what is wrong/how can i debug? thanks UPDATE: it has something to do with the binding in the controller. cause even if i delete the validation the form will still not be valid and it will be passed to the template but this time without the "Required". so it wont be valid no matter if ive got the validation or not. it has something to do with the embedForm() maybe? someone that has validated an embeded form?
