  Can I create an event so I can execute some javascript whenever an element with a specific ID becomes visible or appears on the page? The element comes from a remote resource (so isn't in MY html code but appears on page load) and I'd like some code to run when it appears (and only if it appears, it may not appear every load).   I have the will_paginate plugin working in an application, but when I paginate a resource it just spits out the HTML as text, doesn't provide links to the next pages and such. And when I manually type in the URL the plugin is working it just doesn't make <%= will_paginate @products %> into links such as next 1 2 3 ... last Ideas?

For example: Eclipse: Cmd|Ctrl+Shift+R - Open Resource IntellIJ: Cmd|Ctrl+Shift+N - Open File TextMate: Cmd+T - Go to File In Xcode, I have found no such options. Please, please tell me I just overlooked it in my growing frustration. Is there a "Go to file" or "Open File" shortcut in Xcode?

  Is there a good resource to get run times for standard API functions? It's somewhat confusing when trying to optimize your program. I know Java isn't made to be particularly speedy but I can't seem to find much info on this at all. Example Problem: If I am looking for a certain token in a file is it faster to scan each line using string.contains(...) or to bring in say 100 or so lines putting them to a local string them performing contains on that chunk.

  I have a jar file with resources (mainly configuration for caches, logging, etc) that I want to distribute. I'm having a problem with the relative paths for those resources, so I did what I've found in another stackoverflow question, which said that this was a valid way: ClassInTheSamePackageOfTheResource.class.getResourceAsStream('resource.xml'); Sadly this does not work. Any ideas? Thanks! PS: Obviously I cannot use absolute paths, and I'd like to avoid environment variables if possible
