  • Wordpress > Transfer google verification file to root directory on plugin activation/install

    - by Scott B
    I've got a wordpress plugin which presets several settings in a wordpress site and creates some default pages which are the same for all my sites. I would like to include an html file in my plugin zip package that is placed into the site's root directory "as is" (same file name, etc) The file is my google verification file, which is the same for all my sites, so I'd like to save a few steps and automate the process of installing it, along with my default setup steps that my plugin handles. Any help, much appreciated.

  • Using Boost on ubuntu

    - by Dexter
    I've heard a lot of good comments about Boost in the past and thought I would give it a try. So I downloaded all the required packages from the package manager in Ubuntu 9.04. Now I'm having trouble finding out how to actually use the darn libraries. Does anyone know of a good tutorial on Boost that goes all the way from Hello World to Advanced Topics, and also covers how to compile programs using g++ on ubuntu?

  • How to pipe two CORE::system commands in a cross-platform way

    - by Pedro Silva
    I'm writing a System::Wrapper module to abstract away from CORE::system and the qx operator. I have a serial method that attempts to connect command1's output to command2's input. I've made some progress using named pipes, but POSIX::mkfifo is not cross-platform. Here's part of what I have so far (the run method at the bottom basically calls system): package main; my $obj1 = System::Wrapper->new( interpreter => 'perl', arguments => [-pe => q{''}], input => ['input.txt'], description => 'Concatenate input.txt to STDOUT', ); my $obj2 = System::Wrapper->new( interpreter => 'perl', arguments => [-pe => q{'$_ = reverse $_}'}], description => 'Reverse lines of input input', output => { '>' => 'output' }, ); $obj1->serial( $obj2 ); package System::Wrapper; #... sub serial { my ($self, @commands) = @_; eval { require POSIX; POSIX->import(); require threads; }; my $tmp_dir = File::Spec->tmpdir(); my $last = $self; my @threads; push @commands, $self; for my $command (@commands) { croak sprintf "%s::serial: type of args to serial must be '%s', not '%s'", ref $self, ref $self, ref $command || $command unless ref $command eq ref $self; my $named_pipe = File::Spec->catfile( $tmp_dir, int \$command ); POSIX::mkfifo( $named_pipe, 0777 ) or croak sprintf "%s::serial: couldn't create named pipe %s: %s", ref $self, $named_pipe, $!; $last->output( { '>' => $named_pipe } ); $command->input( $named_pipe ); push @threads, threads->new( sub{ $last->run } ); $last = $command; } $_->join for @threads; } #... My specific questions: Is there an alternative to POSIX::mkfifo that is cross-platform? Win32 named pipes don't work, as you can't open those as regular files, neither do sockets, for the same reasons. The above doesn't quite work; the two threads get spawned correctly, but nothing flows across the pipe. I suppose that might have something to do with pipe deadlocking or output buffering. What throws me off is that when I run those two commands in the actual shell, everything works as expected.

  • Why is the content of slice not changed in GO?

    - by Kid
    I thought that in GO language, slices are passed by reference. But why the following code doesn't change the content of slice c? Am I missing something? Thank you. package main import ( "fmt" ) func call(c []int) { c = append(c, 1) fmt.Println(c) } func main() { c := make([]int, 1, 5) fmt.Println(c) call(c) fmt.Println(c) } The result printed is: [0] [0 1] [0] while I was expecting [0] [0 1] [0 1]

  • Object value not getting updated in the database using hibernate

    - by user1662917
    I am using Spring,hibernate,jsf with jquery in my application. I am inserting a Question object in the database through the hibernate save query . The question object contains id ,question,answertype and reference to a form object using form_id. Now I want to alter the values of Question object stored in the database by altering the value stored in the list of Question objects at the specified index position. If I alter the value in the list the value in the database is not getting altered by update query . Could you please advise. • Command Not working in separate thread in J2me.

    - by RishiPatel
    I am creating a bluetooth application. I created a simple midlet with a exit command and i create a thread for finding the service and discovering the device. While doing so it displays a animated screen on which i added the parent commandListener for exit command. After successful connection both user is represented with greetings(Current screen calls the parent Display method setCurrent for displaying itself). This screen also have CommandListener set to the parent. Now i want to add few more commands. I Implemented the CommandLIstener Interface in this class, added few commands but the commands are not working. I dont whats wen wrong. I am giving u Code snippets to fully describle my issue : - package name Imports here public class MyMidlet extends MIDlet implements CommandListener { public CommandListener theListener; public Display theDisplay; public Command exitCommand; public MyMidlet() { // Retrieve the display for this MIDlet //Create the initial screen } public void startApp() throws MIDletStateChangeException { } public void pauseApp() { } public void destroyApp(boolean unconditional) { } public void commandAction(Command c, Displayable d) { // Determine if the exit command was selected if (c == exitCommand) { //End application here notifyDestroyed(); } else { //Start the new thread here } } } Now here is the code for the class which is invoked by the above midlet in a separate thread; package here; imports here public class MyService implements Runnable, CommandListener { private MyMidlet parent; private StreamConnection conn; private OutputStream output; private InputStream input; public Command sendCommand; private TextField messageToSend Form form; public BChatService(boolean isServer, BChatMidlet parent) { //some stuff here this.parent = parent; } public void run() { //functino for showing animation here try { input = conn.openInputStream(); output = conn.openOutputStream(); } catch (IOException e) { displayError("IO Error", "An error occurred while opening " + "the input and output streams" + "(IOException: " + e.getMessage() + ")"); try { conn.close(); } catch (Exception ex) { } return; } // Create the Form here when service is discoverd and greets the users Command sendCommand = new Command("Send", Command.ITEM, 2); exitCommand = new Command("Exit", Command.EXIT, 1); form.addCommand(exitCommand); form.addCommand(sendCommand); parent.theDisplay.setCurrent(form); form.setCommandListener(this); public void commandAction(Command c, Displayable d) { if (c == exitCommand) { // End the game parent.destroyApp(true); parent.notifyDestroyed(); } if(c == sendCommand) { form.append("SOme text here"); } } } When i select the Send command, the string doesnt append in form neither exit command works. What can be the possible cause for it?? I need to implement this functionality...Is there any other way to achieve this??

  • I need to modify a program to use arrays and a method call. Should I modify the running file, the data collection file, or both?

    - by g3n3rallyl0st
    I have to have multiple classes for this program. The problem is, I don't fully understand arrays and how they work, so I'm a little lost. I will post my program I have written thus far so you can see what I'm working with, but I don't expect anyone to DO my assignment for me. I just need to know where to start and I'll try to go from there. I think I need to use a double array since I will be working with decimals since it deals with money, and my method call needs to calculate total price for all items entered by the user. Please help: RUNNING FILE package inventory2; import java.util.Scanner; public class RunApp { public static void main(String[] args) { Scanner input = new Scanner( System.in ); DataCollection theProduct = new DataCollection(); String Name = ""; double pNumber = 0.0; double Units = 0.0; double Price = 0.0; while(true) { System.out.print("Enter Product Name: "); Name = input.next(); theProduct.setName(Name); if (Name.equalsIgnoreCase("stop")) { return; } System.out.print("Enter Product Number: "); pNumber = input.nextDouble(); theProduct.setpNumber(pNumber); System.out.print("Enter How Many Units in Stock: "); Units = input.nextDouble(); theProduct.setUnits(Units); System.out.print("Enter Price Per Unit: "); Price = input.nextDouble(); theProduct.setPrice(Price); System.out.print("\n Product Name: " + theProduct.getName()); System.out.print("\n Product Number: " + theProduct.getpNumber()); System.out.print("\n Amount of Units in Stock: " + theProduct.getUnits()); System.out.print("\n Price per Unit: " + theProduct.getPrice() + "\n\n"); System.out.printf("\n Total cost for %s in stock: $%.2f\n\n\n", theProduct.getName(), theProduct.calculatePrice()); } } } DATA COLLECTION FILE package inventory2; public class DataCollection { String productName; double productNumber, unitsInStock, unitPrice, totalPrice; public DataCollection() { productName = ""; productNumber = 0.0; unitsInStock = 0.0; unitPrice = 0.0; } //setter methods public void setName(String name) { productName = name; } public void setpNumber(double pNumber) { productNumber = pNumber; } public void setUnits(double units) { unitsInStock = units; } public void setPrice(double price) { unitPrice = price; } //getter methods public String getName() { return productName; } public double getpNumber() { return productNumber; } public double getUnits() { return unitsInStock; } public double getPrice() { return unitPrice; } public double calculatePrice() { return (unitsInStock * unitPrice); } }

  • .NET Based Radio Automation

    - by Brent Pabst
    I'm curious if anyone has seen an Open Source radio automation package (I found one in Russian on CodePlex) built on .NET In addition if I wanted to build something like this in a client server environment is WCF and WPF the best way to do it? Is it fast enough to trigger songs to play/encode on the server from a remote WPF client? Sort of vague questions but I wanted to get some community feedback.
