  • How to exclude files from Visual Studio compile?

    - by Larsenal
I'm in the process of refactoring a project. I've got an entire subfolder which is known to be broken. Is there any declarative way to exclude that folder from the compile temporarily while I test the refactoring thus far? I realize I could delete the folder, but I'd like to do this through configuration if possible.

I'm programming an app in which one of the ViewControllers is showing an UIScrollView that shows an image. I'd like to load an image (pushpin in png format) and draw it (and delete it) in some points of the UIScrollView image. I'd also would like to draw bezier paths in that image (and deleting them). I've programmed several apps but this is the first time I face graphic programming and don't know where to start from. Any suggestions? Thanks!

  • Overload dereference operator

    - by zilgo
I'm trying to overload the dereference operator, but compiling the following code results in the error 'initializing' : cannot convert from 'X' to 'int': struct X { void f() {} int operator*() const { return 5; } }; int main() { X* x = new X; int t = *x; delete x; return -898; } What am I doing wrong?

  • Notification in case of data changes in SQL and Oralce

    - by user171523
I am in the process of building a system where i need to notify a Window Service a .net based application in case of any change in the DB table (Insert , Update , Delete). I know this can be done with the ADO.NET Events in SQL. Is there any common solution for Oracle and SQL which can provide this kind of notifications. This needs to happen as and when the update happens on real time basis.

  • boost multi_index_container and erase performance

    - by rjoshi
    I have a boost multi_index_container declared as below which is indexed by hash_unique id(unsigned long) and hash_non_unique transaction id(long). Insertion and retrieval of elements is fast but when I delete elements, it is much slower. I was expecting it to be constant time as key is hashed. e.g To erase elements from container for 10,000 elements, it takes around 2.53927016 seconds for 15,000 elements, it takes around 7.137100068 seconds for 20,000 elements, it takes around 21.391720757 seconds Is it something I am missing or is it expected behavior? class Session { public: Session() { //increment unique id static unsigned long counter = 0; boost::mutex::scoped_lock guard(mx); counter++; m_nId = counter; } unsigned long GetId() { return m_nId; } long GetTransactionHandle(){ return m_nTransactionHandle; } .... private: unsigned long m_nId; long m_nTransactionHandle; boost::mutext mx; .... }; typedef multi_index_container< Session*, indexed_by< hashed_unique< mem_fun<Session,unsigned long,&Session::GetId> >, hashed_non_unique< mem_fun<Session,unsigned long,&Session::GetTransactionHandle> > > //end indexed_by > SessionContainer; typedef SessionContainer::nth_index<0>::type SessionById; int main() { ... SessionContainer container; SessionById *pSessionIdView = &get<0>(container); unsigned counter = atoi(argv[1]); vector<Session*> vSes(counter); //insert for(unsigned i = 0; i < counter; i++) { Session *pSes = new Session(); container.insert(pSes); vSes.push_back(pSes); } timespec ts; lock_settime(CLOCK_PROCESS_CPUTIME_ID, &ts); //erase for(unsigned i = 0; i < counter; i++) { pSessionIdView->erase(vSes[i]->getId()); delete vSes[i]; } lock_gettime(CLOCK_PROCESS_CPUTIME_ID, &ts); std::cout << "Total time taken for erase:" << ts.tv_sec << "." << ts.tv_nsec << "\n"; return (EXIST_SUCCESS); }

  • What is the best service/tool to put short audio clips on a website so users can click and listen im

    - by Edward Tanguay
I'm making a foreign language flashcard website in which I want to have 100s of short 3-10 second audio files available for users to click and listen. So I am looking for a tool/service such as YouTube or Screenr.com but for audio which e.g.: allows me to easily upload multiple kinds of audio files: mp3, wav, etc. easy to manage them online (delete, replace) has a simple, small player (e.g. flash) that integrates nicely into any site

  • Vaadin: Downloaded file has whole path as file name

    - by javydreamercsw
I have a download action implemented on my Vaadin application but for some reason the downloaded file has the original file's full path as the file name. Any idea? You can see the code on this post. Edit: Here's the important part of the code: package com.bluecubs.xinco.core.server.vaadin; import com.bluecubs.xinco.core.server.XincoConfigSingletonServer; import com.vaadin.Application; import com.vaadin.terminal.DownloadStream; import com.vaadin.terminal.FileResource; import java.io.*; import java.net.URLEncoder; import java.util.UUID; import java.util.logging.Level; import java.util.logging.Logger; import java.util.zip.CRC32; import java.util.zip.CheckedInputStream; /** * * @author Javier A. Ortiz Bultrón<[email protected]> */ public class FileDownloadResource extends FileResource { private final String fileName; private File download; private File newFile; public FileDownloadResource(File sourceFile, String fileName, Application application) { super(sourceFile, application); this.fileName = fileName; } protected void cleanup() { if (newFile != null && newFile.exists()) { newFile.delete(); } if (download != null && download.exists() && download.listFiles().length == 0) { download.delete(); } } @Override public DownloadStream getStream() { try { //Copy file to directory for downloading InputStream in = new CheckedInputStream(new FileInputStream(getSourceFile()), new CRC32()); download = new File(XincoConfigSingletonServer.getInstance().FileRepositoryPath + System.getProperty("file.separator") + UUID.randomUUID().toString()); newFile = new File(download.getAbsolutePath() + System.getProperty("file.separator") + fileName); download.mkdirs(); OutputStream out = new FileOutputStream(newFile); newFile.deleteOnExit(); download.deleteOnExit(); byte[] buf = new byte[1024]; int len; while ((len = in.read(buf)) > 0) { out.write(buf, 0, len); } in.close(); out.close(); final DownloadStream ds = new DownloadStream( new FileInputStream(newFile), getMIMEType(), fileName); ds.setParameter("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=" + URLEncoder.encode(fileName, "utf-8")); ds.setCacheTime(getCacheTime()); return ds; } catch (final FileNotFoundException ex) { Logger.getLogger(FileDownloadResource.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex); return null; } catch (IOException ex) { Logger.getLogger(FileDownloadResource.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex); return null; } } } I already debugged and verified that fileName only contains the file's name not the whole path.

  • Is there any reasonable use of a function returning an anonymous struct?

    - by Akanksh
Here is an (artificial) example of using a function that returns an anonymous struct and does "something" useful: #include <iostream> template<typename T> T* func( T* t, float a, float b ) { if(!t) { t = new T; t->a = a; t->b = b; } else { t->a += a; t->b += b; } return t; } struct { float a, b; }* foo(float a, float b) { if(a==0) return 0; return func(foo(a-1,b), a, b); } int main() { std::cout << foo(5,6)->a << std::endl; std::cout << foo(5,6)->b << std::endl; void* v = (void*)(foo(5,6)); float* f = (float*)(v); //[1] delete f now because I know struct is floats only. std::cout << f[0] << std::endl; std::cout << f[1] << std::endl; delete[] f; return 0; } There are a few points I would like to discuss: As is apparent, this code leaks, is there anyway I can NOT leak without knowing what the underlying struct definition is? see Comment [1]. I have to return a pointer to an anonymous struct so I can create an instance of the object within the templatized function func, can I do something similar without returning a pointer? I guess the most important, is there ANY (real-world) use for this at all? As the example given above leaks and is admittedly contrived. By the way, what the function foo(a,b) does is, to return a struct containing two numbers, the sum of all numbers from 1 to a and the product of a and b. EDIT: Maybe the line new T could use a boost::shared_ptr somehow to avoid leaks, but I haven't tried that. Would that work?

  • iPhone: How to purge a cached UITableViewCell

    - by iPhone dev
iPhone SDK question: Does anyone have suggestions on how to purge a cached UITableViewCell I'd like to cache these cells with reuseIdentifier. However, there are times when I need to delete or modify some of the table rows. I expect to call reloadData after the row changes. Right now, dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier always returns the cached(obsolete) entry from before. How do I indicate that the cache is stale and needs to be purged ?

  • Disable Drag-drop from TextBox

    - by viky
I have a WPF textBox that is declared as ReadOnly <TextBox IsReadOnly="True" IsTabStop="False" Width="200" /> So, User can not write anything into the TextBox or delete the content but it still allows user to drag the text from this textbox and drop it in any other textbox that caused the text removed from the first textbox(the read-only one) and thats unexpected. Is it a bug? how can I get rid of this?

  • Add Imagebutton to DataGridView in C#

    - by espais
I am trying to do a simple 'Delete Row' button in a DataGridView that I have, but the problem is that I would like it to be an ImageButton rather than a simple Button. Currently I have it setup to be a ButtonColumn, but have seen no possibility for changing it from a simple button with text to a button with an image on it. I know this is possible and hopefully relatively simple, but am unsure of how to go about doing it.

  • How to check the backtrace of a "USER process" in the Linux Kernel Crash Dump

    - by Biswajit
I was trying to debug a USER Process in Linux Crash Dump. The normal steps to go to the crash dump are: Go to the path where the dump is located. Use the command crash kernel_link dump.201104181135. Where kernel_link is a soft link I have created for vmlinux image. Now you will be in the CRASH prompt. If you run the command foreach <PID Of the process> bt Eg: crash> **foreach 6920 bt** **PID: 6920 TASK: ffff88013caaa800 CPU: 1 COMMAND: **"**climmon**"**** #0 [ffff88012d2cd9c8] **schedule** at ffffffff8130b76a #1 [ffff88012d2cdab0] **schedule_timeout** at ffffffff8130bbe7 #2 [ffff88012d2cdb50] **schedule_timeout_uninterruptible** at ffffffff8130bc2a #3 [ffff88012d2cdb60] **__alloc_pages_nodemask** at ffffffff810b9e45 #4 [ffff88012d2cdc60] **alloc_pages_curren**t at ffffffff810e1c8c #5 [ffff88012d2cdc90] **__page_cache_alloc** at ffffffff810b395a #6 [ffff88012d2cdcb0] **__do_page_cache_readahead** at ffffffff810bb592 #7 [ffff88012d2cdd30] **ra_submit** at ffffffff810bb6ba #8 [ffff88012d2cdd40] **filemap_fault** at ffffffff810b3e4e #9 [ffff88012d2cdda0] **__do_fault** at ffffffff810caa5f #10 [ffff88012d2cde50] **handle_mm_fault** at ffffffff810cce69 #11 [ffff88012d2cdf00] **do_page_fault** at ffffffff8130f560 #12 [ffff88012d2cdf50] **page_fault** at ffffffff8130d3f5 RIP: 00007fd02b7e9071 RSP: 0000000040e86ea0 RFLAGS: 00010202 RAX: 0000000000000000 RBX: 0000000000000000 RCX: 00007fd02b7e9071 RDX: 0000000000000000 RSI: 0000000000000000 RDI: 0000000040e86ec0 RBP: 0000000040e87140 R8: 0000000000000800 R9: 0000000000000000 R10: 0000000000000000 R11: 0000000000000202 R12: 00007fff16ec43d0 R13: 00007fd02bcadf00 R14: 0000000040e87950 R15: 0000000000001000 ORIG_RAX: ffffffffffffffff CS: 0033 SS: 002b If you check the above backtrace it shows the kernel functions used for scheduling/handling page fault but not the functions that were executed in the USER process (here eg. climmon). So I am not able to debug this process as I am not able to see the functions executed in that process. Can any one help me with this case?

  • Unit of Work pattern and persistence

    - by Mosh
Hello, I have been reading about Unit of Work pattern but I am confused about how the UoW actually persists data. When we commit the changes, UoW should iterate through the list of Added, Updated and Deleted objects and somehow find a class responsible to Add, Update, Delete objects of a certain type. I couldn't find an example showing this technique. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Mosh

  • Load WPF styles (static resources) from an external assembly

    - by Shimmy
I have a few WPF applications and I want all my styles to be in a shared assembly instead of declaring them in each application separately. I am looking for a way so I don't have to change all my Style="{StaticResource BlahBlah}" in the existing applications; I just want to add the reference to this style assembly, and delete it from the current application, so it's taken from the assembly. Is there any way?

  • MySQL foreign key creation with alter table command

    - by user313338
I created some tables using MySQL Workbench, and then did forward ‘forward engineer’ to create scripts to create these tables. BUT, the scripts lead me to a number of problems. One of which involves the foreign keys. So I tried creating separate foreign key additions using alter table and I am still getting problems. The code is below (the set statements, drop/create statements I left in … though I don’t think they should matter for this): SET @OLD_UNIQUE_CHECKS=@@UNIQUE_CHECKS, UNIQUE_CHECKS=0; SET @OLD_FOREIGN_KEY_CHECKS=@@FOREIGN_KEY_CHECKS, FOREIGN_KEY_CHECKS=0; SET @OLD_SQL_MODE=@@SQL_MODE, SQL_MODE='TRADITIONAL'; DROP SCHEMA IF EXISTS `mydb` ; CREATE SCHEMA IF NOT EXISTS `mydb` DEFAULT CHARACTER SET latin1 COLLATE latin1_swedish_ci ; -- ----------------------------------------------------- -- Table `mydb`.`User` -- ----------------------------------------------------- DROP TABLE IF EXISTS `mydb`.`User` ; CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `mydb`.`User` ( `UserName` VARCHAR(35) NOT NULL , `Num_Accts` INT NOT NULL , `Password` VARCHAR(45) NULL , `Email` VARCHAR(45) NULL , `User_ID` INT NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT , PRIMARY KEY (`User_ID`) ) ENGINE = InnoDB; -- ----------------------------------------------------- -- Table `mydb`.`User_Space` -- ----------------------------------------------------- DROP TABLE IF EXISTS `mydb`.`User_Space` ; CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `mydb`.`User_Space` ( `User_UserName` VARCHAR(35) NOT NULL , `User_Space_ID` INT NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT , PRIMARY KEY (`User_Space_ID`), FOREIGN KEY (`User_UserName`) REFERENCES `mydb`.`User` (`UserName`) ON UPDATE CASCADE ON DELETE CASCADE) ENGINE = InnoDB; SET SQL_MODE=@OLD_SQL_MODE; SET FOREIGN_KEY_CHECKS=@OLD_FOREIGN_KEY_CHECKS; SET UNIQUE_CHECKS=@OLD_UNIQUE_CHECKS; The error this produces is: Error Code: 1005 Can't create table 'mydb.user_space' (errno: 150) Anybody know what the heck I’m doing wrong?? And anybody else have problems with the script generation done by mysql workbench? It’s a nice tool, but annoying that it pumps out scripts that don’t work for me. [As an fyi here’s the script it auto-generates: SET @OLD_UNIQUE_CHECKS=@@UNIQUE_CHECKS, UNIQUE_CHECKS=0; SET @OLD_FOREIGN_KEY_CHECKS=@@FOREIGN_KEY_CHECKS, FOREIGN_KEY_CHECKS=0; SET @OLD_SQL_MODE=@@SQL_MODE, SQL_MODE='TRADITIONAL'; DROP SCHEMA IF EXISTS `mydb` ; CREATE SCHEMA IF NOT EXISTS `mydb` DEFAULT CHARACTER SET latin1 COLLATE latin1_swedish_ci ; -- ----------------------------------------------------- -- Table `mydb`.`User` -- ----------------------------------------------------- DROP TABLE IF EXISTS `mydb`.`User` ; CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `mydb`.`User` ( `UserName` VARCHAR(35) NOT NULL , `Num_Accts` INT NOT NULL , `Password` VARCHAR(45) NULL , `Email` VARCHAR(45) NULL , `User_ID` INT NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT , PRIMARY KEY (`User_ID`) ) ENGINE = InnoDB; -- ----------------------------------------------------- -- Table `mydb`.`User_Space` -- ----------------------------------------------------- DROP TABLE IF EXISTS `mydb`.`User_Space` ; CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `mydb`.`User_Space` ( `User_Space_ID` INT NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT , PRIMARY KEY (`User_Space_ID`) , INDEX `User_ID` () , CONSTRAINT `User_ID` FOREIGN KEY () REFERENCES `mydb`.`User` () ON DELETE NO ACTION ON UPDATE NO ACTION) ENGINE = InnoDB; SET SQL_MODE=@OLD_SQL_MODE; SET FOREIGN_KEY_CHECKS=@OLD_FOREIGN_KEY_CHECKS; SET UNIQUE_CHECKS=@OLD_UNIQUE_CHECKS; ** Thanks!]

  • How to include clean target in makefile

    - by neversaint
I have a makefile that looks like this CXX = g++ -O2 -Wall all: code1 code2 code1: code1.cc utilities.cc $(CXX) $^ -o $@ code2: code2.cc utilities.cc $(CXX) $^ -o $@ What I want to do next is to include 'clean target' so that every time I run 'make' it will automatically delete the existing binary files of code1 and code2 before creating the new ones. I tried to put these lines at the very end of the makefile, but it doesn't work clean: rm -f $@ echo Clean done What's the right way to do it?

  • HTML5 Web Storage Cleared when Browser Clear Cache?

    - by jiewmeng
i wonder if HTML5 Web Storage will be cleared when browser clears its cache? if it did, many ppl like me may lose data if i accidentally clear cache? or like in this comment ... Since HTML5 local storage is kept separate from js cookies (like Silverlight, Gears, Flash), it opens up a world of 3rd party privacy issues for HTML5 as these objects will likely NOT get deleted with a clear cache or delete temporary data ... where web storage is not cleared, but leads to privacy issues?
