  • How do I nested options for plugins in jQuery

    - by Oscar Godson
I know how to do plugins, but how do I do nested options like: var defaults = { spacing:10, shorten_to:50, from_start:0, from_end:2, classes: { test:'testing' } }; i know that isn't right, i just dont know how to write the proper syntax when I want to do something like this: $('#breadcrumbs').breadcrumbs({classes{test:'new_example'},spacing:12}) other suggestions are welcome, im in need of the ability to custom class names and there are 7, so rather than making something like test_class, example_class, etc id like it cleaner and neater like the example above.

  • How to locally test Django's Sites Framework

    - by Off Rhoden
Django has the sites framework to support multiple web site hosting from a single Django installation. EDIT (below is an incorrect assumption of the system) I understand that middleware sets the settings.SITE_ID value based on a lookup/cache of the request domain. ENDEDIT But when testing locally, I'm at http://127.0.0.1:8000/, not http://my-actual-domain.com/ How do I locally view my different sites during development?

  • If I write an algorithm to encrypt a file, are their tools available to break the encryption?

    - by Andrew
I have an idea for encryption that I could program fairly easily to encrypt some local text file. Given that my approach is novel, and does not use any of the industry standard encryption techniques, would I be able to test the strength of my encryption using 'cracker' apps or suchlike? Or do all those tools rely on advanced knowledge of the encryption process (or intercepted 'keys'), meaning I'd have to build my own cracker for testing?

  • Access Parallels Windows localhost from Mac

    - by Ranch
I use Windows (7) OS as a development platform, running on a Mac / Parallels Desktop 5. I would like to access the Windows localhost - from the Mac side for testing purposes. I've found many solutions of accessing the other way around (access Mac's localhost from Windows) - but found no solution for this access direction (if any). Any idea ? Is it possible ?

  • MIgrations ans Rspec

    - by pablorc
Hi, I'm developing a Rails application with Rspec for unit testing. Weeks ago, Rspec used to migrate the database to the last version automatically when executing 'rake spec', but now it doesn't do it automatically, I have to implement everything for myself. This happens in test environment, because my development data doesn't desappear. Is my fault? I didn't change anything, I think :) Thanks in advance.

  • How can I learn to set up a build process?

    - by Satoru.Logic
Hi, all. What I was taught at school is all about programming languages, software design, but hardly anything about how to automatically build a software, probably with unit testing integrated. Please tell me how do one start learning to set up a build process for his project.

  • Why would JmDNS service discovery work on a Motorola Droid running Android 2.1-update1 and not on an

    - by Churlbong
I have successfully gotten JmDNS working on Android 2.1 testing on a Motorola Droid by using MulticastLock, but recently got an HTC Incredible as second test device, and JmDNS discovery doesn't work at all. I should mention that broadcasting a service still works and everything appears to run normally, but serviceAdded() never gets called. Does anyone have thoughts on why this might be? I was thinking it might be a permission issue, but I don't get any exceptions...

  • Creating a list in Python- something sneaky going on?

    - by GlenCrawford
Apologies if this doesn't make any sense, I'm very new to Python! From testing in an interpreter, I can see that list() and [] both produce an empty list: >>> list() [] >>> [] [] From what I've learned so far, the only way to create an object is to call its constructor (__init__), but I don't see this happening when I just type []. So by executing [], is Python then mapping that to a call to list()?

  • Intermittent error thrown, "A required anti-forgery token was not supplied or was invalid."

    - by Dave K
I'm occasionally getting this error during normal use, and I've not found a way to stop it without removing the attribute that requires the token, which I'd rather not do. I've gotten this bug during my own testing (but seemingly randomly) and I know from my logging that actual logged-in users are getting it as well. Does anyone know what would cause the antiforgerytoken system to break (other than a real attack), and how I could fix this without opening up a security hole in my forms? Thanks!

  • Python - Polymorphism in wxPython, What's wrong?

    - by Wallter
I am trying to wright a simple custom button in wx.Python. My code is as follows, an error is thrown on line 19 of my "Custom_Button.py" - What is going on? I can find no help online for this error and have a suspicion that it has to do with the Polymorphism. (As a side note: I am relatively new to python having come from C++ and C# any help on syntax and function of the code would be great! - knowing that, it could be a simple error. thanks!) • Dependency Injection mechanism

The advantage of inversion of control is that it decouples objects from specific lookup mechanisms and implementations of the objects it depends on. As a result, more flexibility is obtained for production applications as well as for testing. what does it mean actually ?

  • Use Java Annotation not to run a method

    - by Michael Mao
Hi all: I've got a method in my class only for testing purpose : private void printOut(String msg, Object value) { System.out.println(msg + value); } It is a wrapper method for System.out.println(); So I hope, with the use of Annotation, I can choose not to run this method during productive environment while still keep those diagnostic output ready if I am to switch back to debugging environment. Which Annotation shall I put on top of the method name?
