    I've been getting the following in my apache access log: "GET /work//?module=www&section=working=../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../../..//proc/self/environ%0000 HTTP/1.1" 200 5187 "-" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.12) Gecko/20101026 Firefox/3.6.12\",\"Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; pl-PL; rv:1.8.1.24pre) Gecko/20100228 K-Meleon/1.5.4\",\"Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US) AppleWebKit/540.0 (KHTML,like Gecko) Chrome/9.1.0.0 Safari/540.0\",\"Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US) AppleWebKit/532.5 (KHTML, like Gecko) Comodo_Dragon/4.1.1.11 Chrome/4.1.249.1042 Safari/532.5\",\"Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686 (x86_64); en-US; rv:1.9.0.16) Gecko/2009122206 Firefox/3.0.16 Flock/2.5.6\",\"Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Maxthon/3.0.8.2 Safari/533.1\",\"Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.8pre) Gecko/20070928 Firefox/2.0.0.7 Navigator/9.0RC1\",\"Opera/9.99 (Windows NT 5.1; U; pl) Presto/9.9.9\",\"Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; zh-HK) AppleWebKit/533.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Safari/533.18.5\",\"Seamonkey-1.1.13-1(X11; U; GNU Fedora fc 10) Gecko/20081112\",\"Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; MSIE 9.0; Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; Trident/5.0; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; SLCC2; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729; Media Center PC 6.0; Zune 4.0; Tablet PC 2.0; InfoPath.3; .NET4.0C; .NET4.0E)\",\"Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; SLCC2; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729; Media Center PC 6.0; MS-RTC LM 8; .NET4.0C; .NET4.0E; InfoPath.3)" If I try the URL, I get a 404 instead of 200 which the above request received. • Backing up large network (~200 clients) -- Enough Bandwidth?

    - by mtkoan
My company wants to institute a backup plan for all of the clients on our network, which is about 200. We back up our servers and SQL databases regularly, but its been our policy to not backup individuals. What is most critical for people is their Documents and PST files in Outlook. PST files can be very large, and most people's are ~1-1.5 GB around here. So with PST files alone that is 200-300 GB of data needing to be transferred daily to a sever for backup. Or compressing first, then transferring, but many of the machines are VERY old and such a task would grind their computer to a halt. Isn't this the reason networks use things like VMware -- to reduce network traffic and streamline backups? Or is this only to reduce hardware costs? Would this much network traffic everyday drastically slow down our network? Enough to the point we'd have to mandate it to be done at night only? Or could we stagger then through out the day? Really appreciate any input, thank you.

  • Apache reports a 200 status for non-existent WordPress URLs

    - by Jonah Bishop
The WordPress .htaccess generally has the following rewrite rules: # BEGIN WordPress <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /index.php [L] </IfModule> When I access a non-existent URL at my website, this rewrite rule gets hit, redirects to index.php, and serves up my custom 404.php template file. The status code that gets sent back to the client is the correct 404, as shown in this HTTP Live Headers output example: http://www.borngeek.com/nothere/ GET /nothere/ HTTP/1.1 Host: www.borngeek.com {...} HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found However, Apache reports the entire exchange with a 200 status code in my server log, as shown here in a log snippet (trimmed for simplicity): {...} "GET /nothere/ HTTP/1.1" 200 2155 "-" {...} This makes some sense to me, seeing as the original request was redirected to page that exists (index.php). Is there a way to force Apache to report the exchange as a 404? My problem is that bogus requests coming from Bad Guys show up as "successful requests" in the various server statistics software I use (AWStats, Analog, etc). I'd love to have them show up on the Apache side as 404s so that they get filtered out from the stat reports that get generated. I tried adding the following line to my .htaccess, but it had no effect (I'm guessing for the same reason as the previous redirect rules): ErrorDocument 404 /index.php?error=404 Does anyone have a clever way to fix this annoyance? Additional Info: OS is Debian 6.0.4, and Apache version looks to be 2.2.22-3 (hosted on DreamHost) The 404 being sent back to the client is being set by WordPress (i.e. I'm not manually calling header() anywhere)

  • Banco Espírito Santo Increases Sales Campaign Success Rate with Siebel CRM

    - by Tony Berk
Banco Espírito Santo (BES), founded in 1869, is the second-largest private financial institution in Portugal with a 20.3% domestic market share, 2.1 million customers, and more than 700 in-country branches. It also has a strong international presence with operations in 23 countries and four continents. With strong growth in its major markets, BES needed a modern, cost-effective, scalable, and reliable customer relationship management (CRM) solution for its retail operations. The bank wanted to optimize client relationship management and integrate all customer touch points and service channels to improve the success of its sales and marketing initiatives. BES implemented the same CRM solution as many other leading banks: Oracle's Siebel CRM. With Siebel CRM 8.1 and other Oracle solutions, BES significantly increased sales of its new financial products across all channels by up to 25%, and it expects to increase annual revenue by up US$4 million annually. It also improved the success rate of bank branch sales, marketing, and lead generation campaigns by nearly 10%. “We are very happy with Oracle’s Siebel CRM applications. We already knew that this was the best solution available, but it has surpassed our best expectations,” said João Manaças, Customer Relationship Management Manager, Personal Marketing Department, Banco Espírito Santo. • Edit Top 200 Rows SQL Pane equivalent in Visual Studio 2012 SQL Server Tools "View Data"

    - by Johan Kronberg
I've always used Edit Top 200 Rows and then edited the query in the SQL Pane of the 2008 Management Studio to find the rows I want to edit data for. Now I have the tools inside Visual Studio 2012 and want to use be able to change the query after right clicking a table and choosing "View Data" but I can't see that this is possible. Has the "SQL Pane" feature been removed or am I not seeing something?

  • (200 ok) ACCEPTED - Is this a hacking attempt?

    - by Byran
I assume this is some type of hacking attempt. I've try to Google it but all I get are sites that look like they have been exploited already. I'm seeing requests to one of my pages that looks like this. /listMessages.asp?page=8&catid=5+%28200+ok%29+ACCEPTED The '(200 ok) ACCEPTED' is what is odd. But it does not appear to do anything. I'm running on IIS 5 and ASP 3.0. Is this "hack" meant for some other type of web server?

  • Why does a pdf file download result in varying bytes logged, all with sc-status 200

    - by Pat James
I have a mojoportal CMS installation on an IIS7 server where users are reporting problems downloading a pdf file. It always downloads fine for me and most others, either displaying in browser or in Adobe Reader. Using logparser to query the IIS logs, all the responses are status 200 (OK) or 304 (Not modified), but the bytes sent vary quite a bit. Sometimes zero, some 211, some about half the full file size of 27059, and lots in between. Plenty show the full size of 27059. Do these other entries for smaller byte counts represent errors of some kind, correlating with the problems reported? Is this likely to be a browser/client issue or a server side problem? If there is any other info that would be helpful let me know. This is a shared hosting server though so I am somewhat limited in what I can dig into on the server.

  • PDF with 200 DPI JPEGs look blurry in viewer

    - by queueoverflow
I often scan images, and I usually do that as 200 DPI JPEG files. If I look at them in Gwenview (Linux image viewer) the text looks readable, and on 100% it looks perfectly sharp. When I convert them into a PDF, using convert from the Imagick package and open that in Okular or Evince (Linux document viewer) the text looks blurry. I wrote a little script that creates a HTML page with all the images and opens it in the browser. Firefox scales the images a little sharper than the PDF viewers. Firefox JPEGs: Evince PDF Is there any way to get the PDF to scale the images sharply?

  • Return http status ok (200) on request method OPTIONS Apache

    - by jazz
I have a apache server which uses Reverse Proxy to connect/direct to a tomcat server. Using virtualHost, RequestHeader set X-Forwarded-Proto "http" ServerName image.abc.local DocumentRoot "/var/www/html" ProxyRequests Off ProxyTimeout 600 ProxyPass /abc http://image.abc.local:9001/abc ProxyPass /xyz http://image.abc.local:9001/xyz ProxyPassReverse /abc http://image.abc.local:9001/abc ProxyPassReverse /xyz http://image.abc.local:9001/xyz what i want to achieve here is that, when there is a REQUEST_METHOD OPTIONS i want simply return HTTP status OK (200). I dont want the request to be received by the tomcat server and process it. For performance based concerns i want this request to be handled at apache level. with all the research i was still unable to get this to run; RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{REQUEST_METHOD} OPTIONS RewriteRule .* - [R=200m] can somebody assist me with what rewrite rule should be there? or is there an alternative to RewriteEngine? Thanks

  • nginx: rewrite URL but have original URL stored in access.log as 200

    - by mhambra
I'm setting up a link tracking system, which (temporarily) involves adding /link/id/ in front of URL (like http://server/data/id/publication/id/). rewrite data/id/(.*) http://server/$1; The request is logged as: ip - - [17/Nov/2011:10:07:19 +0300] "GET /data/id/publication/id.html HTTP/1.1" 302 154 "-" "UA"` For some reason (keeping the compatibility with AWStats) it is wanted to have 200 logged instead of 302. (nginx allows to get 301 code out of box with permanent option, but thats inappropriate too) What are my options here? Will the combination of location { } and rewrite do the job?

How can they address all these areas with one comprehensive strategy? With enterprise project portfolio management solutions that provide greater transparency and visibility across all projects and portfolios, says Guy Barlow, Oracle director of industry strategy. In the following interview and in an exclusive, three-part webcast series, Barlow examines today’s new management realities and explains how organizations can succeed in this environment. Q: Financial discipline has always been important, what’s different today? A: A number of organizations are showing that by fiscally aligning projects with the business goals of their organizations, they can shave off hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars in inefficiency and waste. For example, one Oracle customer, the Columbus Regional Airport Authority, reduced its unbudgeted costs from US$24.4 million to US$3.5 million, for an 88 percent improvement. Q: How do organizations achieve results like this? A: First, they need to have the vision to see project management as part of a broad and critical element in their overall enterprise strategy. That means using a single solution, such as Oracle‘s Primavera, to manage multiple projects across multiple functions within a company. So someone in corporate mergers and acquisitions as well as a capital projects team can standardize on the same technology. By doing so they all gain greater efficiency in planning and execution—because the technology can be configured for their specific roles and needs—and the IT organization really benefits from lower maintenance. Second, enterprises must give executive leaders—CFOs, COOs, and CEOs—visibility across the entire business to easily see what projects are on track and which ones are falling behind. In fact, once executives see the power of enterprise project portfolio management, uptake is very quick across the organization. Read the full interview here.

  • Success Quote: A Hybrid Approach for Success

    - by Lauren Clark
We recently received this quote from a project that successfully used OUM: “On our project, we applied a combination of the Oracle Unified Method (OUM) and the client's methodology. The project was organized by OUM's phases and a subset of OUM's processes, tasks, and templates. Using a hybrid of the two methods resulted in an implementation approach that was optimized for the client-specific requirements for this project." This hybrid approach is an excellent example of using OUM in the flexible and scalable manner in which it was intended. The project team was able to scale OUM to be fit-for-purpose for their given situation. It's great to see how merging what was needed out of OUM with the client’s methodology resulted in an implementation approach that more closely aligned to the business needs. Successfully scaling OUM is dependent on the needs of the particular project and/or engagement. The key is to use no more than is necessary to satisfy the requirements of the implementation and appropriately address risks. For more information, check out the "Tailoring OUM for Your Project" page, which can be accessed by first clicking on the "OUM should be scaled to fit your implementation" link on the OUM homepage and then drilling into the link on the subsequent page. Have you used OUM in conjunction with a partner or customer methodology? Please share your experiences with us.

  • IIS 7 returns 304 instead of 200

  • HTTP crawler in Erlang

    - by ctp
    I'm coding on a simple HTTP crawler but I have an issue running the code at the bottom. I'm requesting 50 URLs and get the content of 20+ back. I've generated few files with 150kB size each to test the crawler. So I think the 20+ responses are limited by the bandwidth? BUT: how to tell the Erlang snippet not to quit until the last file is not fetched? The test data server is online, so plz try the code out and any hints are welcome :) -module(crawler). -define(BASE_URL, "http://46.4.117.69/"). -export([start/0, send_reqs/0, do_send_req/1]). start() -> ibrowse:start(), proc_lib:spawn(?MODULE, send_reqs, []). to_url(Id) -> ?BASE_URL ++ integer_to_list(Id). fetch_ids() -> lists:seq(1, 50). send_reqs() -> spawn_workers(fetch_ids()). spawn_workers(Ids) -> lists:foreach(fun do_spawn/1, Ids). do_spawn(Id) -> proc_lib:spawn_link(?MODULE, do_send_req, [Id]). do_send_req(Id) -> io:format("Requesting ID ~p ... ~n", [Id]), Result = (catch ibrowse:send_req(to_url(Id), [], get, [], [], 10000)), case Result of {ok, Status, _H, B} -> io:format("OK -- ID: ~2..0w -- Status: ~p -- Content length: ~p~n", [Id, Status, length(B)]); Err -> io:format("ERROR -- ID: ~p -- Error: ~p~n", [Id, Err]) end.   • /server-status shows over 240 requests like "OPTIONS * HTTP/1.0" 200 - "-" "Apache (internal dummy c

    - by Stefan Lasiewski
Some details: Webserver: Apache/2.2.13 (FreeBSD) mod_ssl/2.2.13 OpenSSL/0.9.8e OS: FreeBSD 7.2-RELEASE This is a FreeBSD Jail. I believe I use the Apache 'prefork' MPM (I run the default for FreeBSD). I use the default values for MaxClients (256) I have enabled mod_status, with "ExtendedStatus On". When I view /server-status , I see a handful of regular requests. I also see over 240 requests from the 'localhost', like these. 37-0 - 0/0/1 . 0.00 1510 0 0.0 0.00 0.00 127.0.0.2 www.example.gov OPTIONS * HTTP/1.0 38-0 - 0/0/1 . 0.00 1509 0 0.0 0.00 0.00 127.0.0.2 www.example.gov OPTIONS * HTTP/1.0 39-0 - 0/0/3 . 0.00 1482 0 0.0 0.00 0.00 127.0.0.2 www.example.gov OPTIONS * HTTP/1.0 40-0 - 0/0/6 . 0.00 1445 0 0.0 0.00 0.00 127.0.0.2 www.example.gov OPTIONS * HTTP/1.0 I also see about 2417 requests yesterday from the localhost, like these: Apr 14 11:16:40 192.168.16.127 httpd[431]: www.example.gov 127.0.0.2 - - [15/Apr/2010:11:16:40 -0700] "OPTIONS * HTTP/1.0" 200 - "-" "Apache (internal dummy connection)" The page at http://wiki.apache.org/httpd/InternalDummyConnection says "These requests are perfectly normal and you do not, in general, need to worry about them", but I'm not so sure. Why are there over 230 of these? Are these active connections? If I have "MaxClients 256", and over 230 of these connections, it seems that my webserver is dangerously close to running out of available connections. It also seems like Apache should only need a handful of these "internal dummy connections" We actually had two unexplained outages last night, and I am wondering if these "internal dummy connection" caused us to run out of available connections. UPDATE 2010/04/16 It is 8 hours later. The /server-status page still shows that there are 243 lines which say "www.example.gov OPTION *". I believe these connections are not active. The server is mostly idle (1 requests currently being processed, 9 idle workers). There are only 18 active httpd processes on the Unix host. If these connections are not active, why do they show up under /server-status? I would have expected them to expire a few minutes after they were initialized.

  • AJAX, Subdomains and the 200 OK response.

    - by b. e. hollenbeck
A non-hypothetical but abstracted situation: I have a domain www.foo.com, from which I'm making an AJAX POST to beta.foo.com. Examining the XHR object, I see a response header of 200 OK, but no response text - I even get a response 12B long, which is the exact response (a 12-character string) that I'm expecting - but the response text is blank. If this is a cross-domain issue, why am I getting 200 OK, and better yet - why am I seeing the PHP functions fire on the beta.foo.com side - yet getting no response?

  • Aruba Wireless Controller 200 and AP70 manual

    - by techie
I have an Aruba wireless system that is currently in use but there is no documentation from the previous person in charge. I have no manuals or login information for the wireless controllers and APs. I checked the Aruba website and you need to register to access the support information but registration isn't instant and takes several days. I've waited for quite a while now and have tried googling and checking the Aruba forums but have found no indication of a manual. What I really need is the ability to reset the controller and APs so I can access the device with the default username and password. There is no reset button on this device so I have no idea how you go about resetting the controller and APs. Hm it seems I can't create a new tag as a new user. If possible can someone add an "Aruba" tag?

  • What is tha CAUSE of Error 523 and Error 200 in Blackberry handhelds

    - by voipsecuritydigest.com
I'm Blackberry developer, customers using my application experiencing Error 523 and Error 200. Remedies to those errors are in first case - remove application, my application. In second case totally reload OS! This is very bad, and customers blame me! But this is I don't do anything illegal to make blackberry crash. I just used a lot of memory, which is obvious because customer want that. Everywhere including Blackberry knowledge base people talking how to fix the problem, which may happened to everybody using application from well known brands, for example Yahoo! finances. But nobody explains what is the mechanism behind this, and if it is possible to avoid the problem. I would like to know what is that CAUSE of Error 523 and Error 200?

  • An SVN error (200 OK) when checking out from my online repo

    - by J. LaRosee
I'm trying to setup my first repo on my host and am getting this error when I use Tortoise to checkout the project: Error: OPTIONS of 'http://mywebsite.com/svn/myproject': 200 OK (http://mywebsite.com) Here is what I did: 1) ssh into my host and head to /home/myaccnt and 'svnadmin create svn' 2) create my project repo: 'svn mkdir svn/myproject' 3) add files to the repo: cd /home/myaccnt/.../myproject (which has /tags, /branch, /trunk); 'svn import file:///home/myaccnt/svn/myproject' (the big ole list of files being added is seen at this point.) At this point I think that I've setup my repo and imported my project into the repo. So, I'm ready to checkout using TortoiseSVN on my Windows box. So: 4) In the folder I'd like to checkout to, I rightclick and 'SVN Checkout' and then make sure my URL is: http://mywebsite.com/svn/myproject Result? Error: OPTIONS of 'http://mywebsite.com/svn/myproject': 200 OK (http://mywebsite.com) Anyone have any thoughts for me? I'm likely missing something fundemental w/ the structure of my repo or htaccess... or something. Many thanks in advance. -JL
