  • Cannot Update Adobe Creative Suit

    I am attempting to check for updates using the Adobe Application Manager on Windows 8 and I get this error: The update server is not responding. The server might be offline temporarily, or the Internet or firewall settings may be incorrect. I have seen this error before on Windows 7 and remembered that I needed to disable the Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter. I navigated to the correct place but the Miniport Adapter was not there. After a bit of searching across several forums I saw a recommendation to change <logLevel>2</logLevel> to <logLevel>10</logLevel>. I attempted that and again it still did not work. I have also tried disabling my anti-virus protection and disabling Windows Firewall. Neither worked. I am not sure what else to try or do at this point. Are there any other recommendations to solve this issue? Notes: I am running Windows 8 Pro using the Creative Cloud Version of CS6. I check for updates by choosing Help Updates from within any Adobe Application I originally posted this question on the Adobe Forums and received no help there.

  • Where can I get an Adobe Flash Page Curl / Flip / Peel Effect tutorial?

    I currently work on a brochure in InDesign. I export as an SWF and apply a page curl effect to it when publishing so I can put it online. It's great. However, I now want to take the brochure to the next level and make each page interactive. To do this I export from InDesign as an XFL (flash format). This gets the brochure into Flash, with each page on a separate frame. I can now make the page interactive; this is also great! All I need to do now is create the page flip effect again, because when you export to XFL you cannot embed a page flip effect on it. The trouble is I can't find a tutorial anywhere for creating this effect. Anyone know where I can find one?

  • Integrating Java webapps with Adobe Professional: Resources?

    I'm interested in learning what resources there are for integrating Java and Adobe Professional, in general. If it helps, my projects already use the Spring Framework. My boss is particularly interested in being able to fill out a PDF form from within a Java webapp and have that data go directly to our database. She mentioned that .net had a lot of bridges to Adobe Professional. I would rather new projects be in Java so I am eager to find if there are any easy bridges between Java and Adobe Professional. Thanks in advance for any information. So far a Google search on "Java Adobe Professional" didn't turn up anything, so I thought I would ask here. Thanks.

    I need some directions for the following problem: I have a lot of InDesign files and i have to setup a process that will track if a certain paragraph or text block has changed between diferent versions of the file. If the text block has changed i want to extract that text block in a "portable" format (html, pdf, txt). Is there an Adobe product that would do that ? Is there any public API to access an InDesign file ? Is there the posibility to export InDesign to, say, html ?

  • Adobe Illustrator - Objects are Expanded on Restart

    I use Adobe Illustrator extensively for mobile development. For example, for Android app, I have many illustrations with different densities and sizes. I use many effects such as outer glow, round corners and such. However, sometimes, when I close the .ai file and re-open it later, I found all my objects expanded. Effects are expanded. For example, the round corner effect is now expanded and I cannot re-size any object. I am using a MacBook Pro. I am suspecting both Time Machine and Dropbox. As much as I can recall, it also appears with CS6 version, not CS5.

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader don't zoom out the page enough in "one page" mode

    I'm using Adobe Acrobat Reader version 9.4 under Debian Lenny. I'm experiencing a problem: when I push the "Show one page at a time" button, I expect the page to zoom such that pressing PgUp/PgDn would turn to the next/previous page. However, the zoom seems to be not enough - very thin bottom portion of the page doesn't fit inside the reader window, and pressing PgUp/PgDn gives the jitter of the same page, and I have to push twice to get to the next page. It is even worse in continuous page mode - a roll of pages begin to be non-synced with window boundaries, ending up with page break right in the middle of the view after several turns of the pages. This behaviour doesn't occur on windows version - I have a page properly zoomed in single/continuous modes, so that turning the pages is performed as page-at-once, as intended. How to make the Acrobat Reader fit the page to window properly? Thats how it looks before pressing PgDn (notice the bottom edge of the "paper" hidden beneath the bottom window edge): Thats how it looks after pressing PgDn (notice the "paper" bottom edge emerged from beneath the window edge, while the "paper" upper edge hides behind the upper window edge, showing that the document window size is not enough to contain the whole page):

    So, I am new to Applescript editor and I am trying to write code to automatically update computers. For some odd reason I can not seem to get Adobe to update successfully. I tried using Accessibility Inspector, but nothing appeared like AXButton So is there even a way of writing code for Adobe when there is not an AXButton option?   • Bug: Weird symbol in pdf generated from Indesign CS3

    I recently encountered a weird bug in Adobe Acrobat. I generated a PDF from Indesign and some weird symbols in "Build relationships" appear out of no where. http://i.stack.imgur.com/FrIII.jpg Here is the image When I copy the words from PDF viewer and back to notepad, the words are correct: "Build relationshiops" Here are the my configurations: Mac OS 10.4 Indesign CS3 Acrobat 9 Pro I'm going to update my software to CS6 soon, but what seems to be the problem here?   • Indesign scripting - Save Copy

    Hello, I'm using a Objective-C Scripting Bridge to communicate with InDesign CS3/CS4. Unfortunately I'm stuck on Save command which appears to be existing only as a part of the standard suite and not defined again in InDesign. Because of that it looks like I can Save, Save as but not Save Copy a document. Does anyone have any idea how to proceed? Just to shortly explain the difference between Save and Save Copy - using Save Copy the current doc doesn't change which is opposite to Save or Save as.

    I have installed Adobe CS6 on Windows 8 and get the error "0xc000007b" every time I open open Adobe After Effects. All other Adobe software, including Photoshop and Premiere Pro, work perfectly. I have looked online extensively but have not found any solutions. What can I try/do to resolve this error?     I am running Lubuntu right now and I'm new to Linux. I went to youtube and it said I needed to upgrade Adobe Flash Player and litte window in the to left hand corner came up saying to install plugin needed so I pressed it and then it said no suitable plugins found. So then I Pressed download from Adobe and I just downloded the first thing which was Yum assuming thats the linux version of the plugin I needed. Then I opened the yum download and Archive Manager came up and now I don't know what to do. Help Please
