• Split or individually edit repeating Google Calendar events

  Our company just moved from Microsoft Exchange with Outlook to Google Mail, Calendar, etc. and I am trying to modify a calendar event where it repeats, but the times across the days are not the same. I created an event from 10h00 to 16h30 and made it repeat for two days. Now the times need to be adjusted independently for the two days. I could just cancel the repeat and book a new appointment for the second day but the event has a confirmed room booking and with rooms at a premium I worry that someone else may grab the room before I can create the new second day event. Outlook had a way to modify repeating events individually but I'm not seeing anything like that in the Google Calendar web client. So my question is whether there is a way to individually edit repeating events, or failing that, to split the repeating event into individual ones?

• Configuring iPad Mail app & Gmail app with different accounts? [migrated]

  I prefer to use the Gmail app over the standard Mail app on my iPad for reading my personal Gmail (I delete a lot of mails, newsletters, etc., after reading and this is one tap in Gmail and several in Mail). I have them set up so my personal Gmail uses the Gmail app and my work email is set up to use the standard Mail app. This all works fine except for one problem. If I'm in Gmail or Mail and send an email it sends from the relevant email address as expected. My problem is that when I share something via email from Safari or another app it sends from the email address configured in Settings for Mail (the work one) and I would prefer to do such sharing from my personal email address. Does anyone know if there is a way to achieve this? I could switch the addresses to use the other app but as I never delete work email and delete personal mail at least 50% of the time, the behaviour of the apps is perfect the way I have them set up; if only I could solve that one little problem of controlling where shared items are sent from. I am using an iPad 2 with iOS 5.1 should that be relevant.

• Can't Login to phpPgAdmin

  I'm trying to set up phpPgAdmin on my test machine so that I can interface with PostgreSQL without always having to use the psql CLI. I have PostgreSQL 9.1 installed via the RPM repository, while I installed phpPgAdmin 5.0.4 "manually" (by extracting the archive from the phpPgAdmin website). For the record, my host OS is CentOS 6.2. I made the following configuration changes already: PostgreSQL Inside pg_hba.conf, I changed all METHODs to md5. I gave the postgres account a password I added a new account named webuser with a password (note that I did not do anything else to the account, so I can't exactly say that I know what permissions it has and all) phpPgAdmin config.inc.php Changed the line $conf['servers'][0]['host'] = ''; to $conf['servers'][0]['host'] = '127.0.0.1'; (I've also tried using localhost as the value there). Set $conf['extra_login_security'] to false. Whenever I try to log in to phpPgAdmin, I get "Login failed", even if I use successful credentials (ones that work in psql). I've tried to go through some of the steps noted in Question 3 in the FAQ, but it hasn't worked out well so far there. It likely does not help that this is my first day working with PostgreSQL. I'm farily familiar with MySQL, but I have to use PostgreSQL for the project I'm working on. Could anyone offer some help for how to set up phpPgAdmin on CentOS 6.2? If I've done something terribly wrong in my configuration so far, it's no big deal to blow something/everything away, as it's not like I've stored any data there yet! I appreciate any insight you may have!

• Cannot get git working

  I'm trying to install my own git server with these instructions. http://cisight.com/how-to-setup-git-server-using-gitolite-in-ubuntu-11-10-oneiric/ But I am get stuck at this point. git clone --verbose [email protected]:testing.git Cloning into 'testing'... • Problem with running open office from the command line

  Yesterday I installed OpenOffice on my Linux server. But when I go to run it through the command line, it says command cannot be found. I've also tried other things like OOWriter, etc. Has anyone had this problem? • Editing sudoers file to restrict a user's commands

  Is it possible to edit the sudoers file so a user can use sudo for any command except for a specified one? I reverse is true, I believe, that the sudoers file can be setup so that a user can only execute a given list of commands. EDIT: the commands I really want to take away are halt and reboot... this makes me think there are special system calls for halt and reboot. Can you take system calls away from a user? If not, is it because the unix permission system abstracts over system calls neglecting this?

• Cobalt Qube 3 Unresponsive

  I recently bought a used Cobalt Qube 3 server off of eBay. The seller listed it as working before it was shipped. After starting it up for the first time, the "Cobalt Networks" logo scrolled across the LCD screen (this is normal), but then it stayed there. It will not go away, and the server will not respond to any of the buttons besides turning it off. I read the manual, and it does not say anything about this normally occurring. If necessary, could anyone walk me through or provide links to a reset tutorial? I have the OS Restore CD. Please help? I'm not sure why my question is being downvoted but if you need any more information please comment.

• Redirect To Domain Before SSL Is Read

  I had to switch servers and I want to redirect all SSL urls to the non-ssl site. • Why doesn't this script work?

  I've been using this bash script: for i in $(ls); do mv $i a$i; done to prepend all filenames in a folder with the letter a. I'm afraid that at some point I'll accidentally use this script in the wrong directory and prepend a ton of filenames that I don't want prepended. So I decided to explicitly cite the path to the file. So now my script looks like this: for i in $(ls /cygdrive/c/Users/path/to/Images); do mv /cygdrive/c/Users/path/to/Images/$i /cygdrive/c/Users/path/to/Images/a$i; done It does prepend the filename with the letter a, but it also appends the filename with this ? symbol. Any ideas why it would do that? If it helps any, I'm using cygwin on a Windows 7 box. Thanks for the help!

• Fragment not showing up and breaks other buttons on Layout

  I'm learning how to use Fragments, and trying to add a fragment tag_button.xml at runtime to a FrameLayout tagFragmentContainer deep within another layout, deepLayout.xml. I get no errors, but the fragment doesn't show up. • How to refactor these generic methods?

  I have written two nearly identical generic extension methods and am trying to figure out how I might refactor them into a single method. They differ only in that one operates on List and the other on List, and the properties I'm interested in are AssetID for AssetDocument and PersonID for PersonDocument. Although AssetDocument and PersonDocument have the same base class the properties are defined in each class so I don't think that helps. I have tried public static string ToCSVList<T>(this T list) where T : List<PersonDocument>, List<AssetDocument> thinking I might then be able to test the type and act accordingly but this results in the syntax error Type parameter 'T' inherits conflicting constraints These are the methods that I would like to refactor into a single method but perhaps I am simply going overboard and they would besat be left as they are. • SQL Reporting Services - Subreports Broken into multiple columns

  Hi, I inherited an SQL Reporting Services .rdl project from somebody and need help fixing some functionality. In each row of the report, there is a subreport. In order to save space the subreport is divided into 3. Such that in each row of the report, it splits the data of the subreport into 3 smaller tables. Right now, it fills these 3 subreports horizontally. (ie. if the result has 9 values, the first subtable will have 1, 4 & 7, the second subtable will have 2, 5 & 8, etc) Is there a way to have it fill the subtables vertically? (ie. the first subtable would have 1,2 & 3) Thanks!

  I'm trying to write a Greasemonkey script to update the onclick value of a bunch of links on a page. The HTML looks like this: <a onclick="OpenGenericPopup('url-99.asp','popup',500,500,false)" href="javascript:void(0)">text</a> I need to update the url-99.asp part of the Javascript into something like urlB-99.asp. • Redirecting exec output to a buffer or file

  I'm writing a C program where I fork(), exec(), and wait(). I'd like to take the output of the program I exec'ed to write it to file or buffer. For example, if I exec ls I want to write file1 file2 etc to buffer/file. I don't think there is a way to read stdout, so does that mean I have to use a pipe? Is there a general procedure here that I haven't been able to find?

On another, everything works fine until I call my server's gsend() function. In which I get a "Error: Network Unreachable." I call gercv() first before calling gsend() too. Can anyone help me?   I have a vector and I need to see if all the strings in that vector are substrings of another given string. eg vector<string> v; v.push_back("str1"); v.push_back("str2"); string s1 = "str1, str2, str3"; string s2 = "str1, str3"; Is there a way to get true from s1 and false from s2 without looping over the vector? Also, note that due to my environment, I can't use boost. I think if I had boost, I could do this.

• How do I determine when two moving points become visible to each other?

  Suppose I have two points, Point1 and Point2. At any given time, these points may be at different positions-- they are not necessarily static. Point1 is located at some position at time t, and its position is defined by the continuous functions x1(t) and y1(t) giving the x and y coordinates at time t. These functions are not differentiable, they are constructed piecewise from line segments. Point2 is the same, with x2(t) and y2(t), each function having the same properties. The obstacles that might prevent visibility are simple (and immobile) polygons. How can I find the boundary points for visibility? i.e. there are two kinds of boundaries: where the points become visible, and become invisible. For a become-visible boundary i, there exists some ?0, such that for any real number a, a ? (i-?, i) , Point1 and Point2 are not visible (i.e. the line segment that connects (x1(a), y1(a)) to (x2(a), y2(x)) crosses some obstacles). For b ? (i, i+?) they are visible. And it is the other way around for becomes-invisible. But can I find such a precise boundary, and if so, how?
