  • VPN being blocked somewhere between either my BT2700HGV and DLink DFL-210

    Hi, For some time I have been unable to get VPN working through my set up. I have a BT2700HGV Router (2 Wire Model) and as a firewall I have the Dlink DFL-210. You can't turn the firewall completely off on the BT2700HGV so I have it set to DMZplus mode for the Firewall. In theory this should then allow the VPN ports through. On the Firewall I have a series of rules set up and one is the pptp-allow rule which should allow access on the correct ports also. When I try to connect via VPN however the client machine gets an error 809. If I check the log on the Dlink firewall, I see this record: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1041315/packetdrop.PNG The laptop I am testing the vpn with is connected directly to the BT2700HGV router and I am trying to VPN from it onto 81.138.86.217. I can't work out whether I have some sort of problem in the set up of the rules on my firewall or if the BT router (even though it's in DMZplus mode) is still blocking port 1723. I read somewhere that there where problems because BTs Openzone held onto this port for some reason. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you need further screen shots or information then please let me know. I wasn't able to create new tags for the router and firewall name or insert the picture in as I am new to the forum. Dom :-)

    Hi, I have a PC (Windows XP SP3) with VMWare Workstation 7 installed. The VMWare hosts Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition R2. RealVNC (4.1.3) is installed on both OS'es. Both of them use Hamachi2. Host OS (WinXP) also runs ZoneAlarm Firewall. Hamachi network is set as trusted. My goal is to allow RDP and VNC connections to be made to the guest OS (Windows Server 2003). Both options work absolutely fine if I connect from the host OS. However I have problems when other computers from our Hamachi network try to connect the guest OS (Win2K3). 1) RDP connections. Users are able to connect but all they see is a black screen inside VNC window.   • pull sql query execution location from either the sql server or IIS

    I am working on restructuring the database for a project that has hundreds of classic asp pages. I need to be able to find out which pages are executing which queries so that I can analyze the data. I am hoping there is some way to accomplish this without having to manually open each asp page and copy/paste the queries into a spreadsheet. I would imagine this should be something I could pull from possibly logs? Any info is appreciated. IIS 7 MSSQL 2008 R2 Windows Web Server 2008 build 6001

  • Why should I choose either PCL or PS when both are supported

    Obviously the answer depends to some degree on the various versions supported, but in general terms - is there any reason I should pick one over the other? PCL for art and PS for text? Does one typically require less RAM on the printer? Speed differences? For home use it doesn't matter and only professional print people will notice and care?     If you're looking for MSN and / or Windows, just go here. I'm looking for Real-Time chat translation tools for Mac, and preferably using Adium, but it could be for Skype, iChat or maybe another option if it's really good. So far I could only easily find a plugin for Adium, simply called translator, that uses google, dicts and babelfish, but you have to type commands in and paste the words or sentences, and it's currently not even working on Snow Leopard. Even if it did, it's still not quite as automatic as we'd expect (or see in other platforms as indicated). So I'm just citing it as an example of a bad solution.

  • Video codec that can be read on clean installs of either Windows, OS X and Ubuntu

    I have to make a video that will need to be watched on different operating systems. Is there a "universal" video codec that can be played on Windows, OS X and Linux without requiring additional plugins or player other than those that comes on a default clean install of each of those systems? Compression is not an issue, I'm merely looking for compatibility (e.g. for audio, I would use WAV as a universal codec). Note : I must assume that the video will be distributed in countries where software patents are enforced, and therefore can't rely on the user to install non-free codecs on Linux. Thanks.

  • One way sync with either Dropbox or Google drive on linux and windows

    I could not google this one. I would like to use Dropbox or Google drive only as backup, so I would like to ensure I only upload to those services and never download (unless done manually via the web interface). There would be several of us uploading stuff to one account, so we would need to ensure we don't accidentaly delete something on another guy's machine by doing some changes on our local machine. Is there a simple way to do this automatically - i.e. by running a daemon that will upload eveyuthing in a given folder but never download anything? I am on linux, so that complicates things a bit, but I am also interested in windows solutions.

  • `wget` is not recognized or either can't find the file

    if i use cd C:\Program Files (x86)\GnuWin32\bin then i'm able to use wget commands for example: wget http://www.ultralightnews.com/trikes/images/trikes/dfs-singletrike.jpg but i can't find the file back, i looked in c:\ and in the bin folder mentioned above and in GnuWin32\etc If i try wget -O C:\Users\clankill3r\Downloads\wgetfolder wget http://www.ultralightnews.com/trikes/images/trikes/dfs-singletrike.jpg then it says Permision denied, i did allow all permisions possible for every group / user. Some people say it downloads to the current folder your working in (that's why i looked in the bin). But i thought let's try to run the command from another folder so i used: 'cd C:\Users\clankill3r\Downloads\wgetfolderand then the wget comman but then it says thewget` command is not recognized. can someone help?

  • Building a QueryExpression where name field is either A or B

    I'm trying to build a Dynamics CRM 4 query so that I can get calendar events that are named either "Event A" or "Event B". A QueryByAttribute doesn't seem to do the job as I cannot specify a condition where the field called "event_name" = "Event A" of "event_name" = "Event B". When using the QueryExpression, I've found the FilterExpression applies to the Referencing Entity. I don't know if the FilterExpression can be used on the Referenced Entity at all. The example below is something like what I want to achieve, though this would return an empty result set as it will go looking in the entity called "my_event_response" for a "name" attribute. It's starting to look like I will need to run several queries to get this but this is less efficient than if I can submit it all at once.
