  • hide inputs value when input is hidden

    - by toingbou
    Hello, im using this function to hide some inputs from a form when a value selected in select tag. this is the function: function showEntry(obj,optionValue){ //hide all entry selections onchange document.getElementById("group1").style.display="none"; document.getElementById("group2").style.display="none"; if(obj.value=="group1") { document.getElementById('group1').style.display="inline"; } else if(obj.value=="group2") { document.getElementById('group2').style.display="inline"; } } and this is the form: <select class="textinput" name="function_title" onchange="showEntry(this,this.value);"> <option value=""> </option> <option value="group1" >group1</option> <option value="group2" >group2</option> </select> <span id="group1" style="display:none;"> <input class="textinput" type="text" id="input1" name="input1" value="100"/> <input class="textinput" type="text" id="input2" name="input2" value="50"/> </span> <span id="group2" style="display:none;"> <input class="textinput" type="text" id="input3" name="input3" value="60"/> <input class="textinput" type="text" id="input4" name="input4" value="45"/> </span> All i want is to hide the hidden inputs value when this group of inputs are hidden. Something like that: <input class="textinput" type="text" id="input3" name="input3" value="if(obj.value!="group2") { print(60); }"/> Is that right?

  • Hide and Unhide Worksheets and Workbooks in Excel 2007 & 2010

    - by DigitalGeekery
Hiding worksheets can be a simple way to protect data in Excel, or just a way reduce the clutter of a some tabs. Here are a couple very easy ways to hide and unhide worksheets and workbooks in Excel 2007 / 2010. Hiding a Worksheet Select the Worksheet you’d like to hide by clicking on the tab at the bottom. By holding down the Ctrl key while clicking you can select multiple tabs at one time. On the Home tab, click on Format, which can be found in the Cells group. Under Visibility,  select Hide & Unhide, then Hide Sheet.   You can also simply right-click on the tab, and select Hide.   Your worksheet will no longer be visible, however, the data contained in the worksheet can still be referenced on other worksheets.   Unhide a Worksheet To unhide a worksheet, you just do the opposite. On the Home tab, click on Format in the Cells group and then under Visibility,  select Hide & Unhide, then Unhide Sheet.   Or, you can right-click on any visible tab, and select Unhide.   In the Unhide pop up window, select the worksheet to unhide and click “OK.” Note: Although you can hide multiple sheets at once, you can only unhide one sheet at a time. Very Hidden Mode While hidden mode is nice, it’s not exactly ultra-secure. If you’d like to pump the security up a notch, there is also Very Hidden mode. To access Very Hidden setting, we’ll have to use the built-in Visual Basic Editor by hitting the Alt + F11 keys. Select the worksheet you wish to hide from the dropdown list under Properties or by single clicking the worksheet in the VBAProject window. Next, set the Visible property to  2 – xlSheetVeryHidden. Close out of the Visual Basic Editor when finished.   When the Very Hidden attribute is set on a worksheet, Unhide Sheet is still unavailable from within the Format setting on the Home tab.   To remove the Very Hidden attribute and display the worksheet again, go back into the Visual Basic Editor by hitting Alt + F11 again and setting the Visible property back to –1 – xlSheetVisible.  Close out of the Editor when finished. Hiding a Workbook To hide the entire Workbook, select the View tab, and then click the Hide button. You’ll see the Workbook has disappeared. Unhide a Workbook Select the View tab and click Unhide… … and your Workbook will be visible again.   Just a few simple ways to hide and unhide your Excel worksheets and workbooks. • How to hide GetType() method from COM?

    - by ticky
I made an automation Add-In for Excel, and I made several functions (formulas). I have a class which header looks like this (it is COM visible): [ClassInterface(ClassInterfaceType.AutoDual)] [ComVisible(true)] public class Functions {} In a list of methods, I see: ToString(), Equals(), GetHashCode() and GetType() methods. Since all methods of my class are COM visible, I should somehow hide those 4. I succeeded with 3 of them: ToString(), Equals(), GetHashCode() but GetType() cannot be overriden. Here is what I did with 3 of them: [ComVisible(false)] public override string ToString() { return base.ToString(); } [ComVisible(false)] public override bool Equals(object obj) { return base.Equals(obj); } [ComVisible(false)] public override int GetHashCode() { return base.GetHashCode(); } This doesn't work: [ComVisible(false)] public override Type GetType() { return base.GetType(); } Here is the error message in Visual Studio when compile: ..GetType()': cannot override inherited member 'object.GetType()' because it is not marked virtual, abstract, or override So, what should I do to hide the GetType() method from COM?

  • Prototype hide/show

    - by Kyle Sevenoaks
Hi, I am a Javascript/jQuery/Prototype newcomer and I have a page that has a Prototype function to get info from a database and put it into some input fields. This was made before I came to work on this site and now I've been asked to add a hide/show div function. I tried it in jQuery and there were clashes with the two frameworks, (as found in my previous question). My question now is, how would I go about building a show/hide function in Prototype? I think it will be easier to do it this way than to re-build the info grabber. The page I want to add this to is here. (the green "ny kunde" button should show the div directly below it newCustomer. Thanks. :)

  • Hide New / Actions / Upload / Settings menus in SharePoint Lists / document libraries

    - by zikoziko
How can I hide the New / Actions / Upload / Settings menus within a list or document library in SharePoint? Note that I need to be able to hide these menus for a particular list definition (template) and not just all lists or document libraries. One possible way that I know of is to register a , and set the ControlClass element to a control that inherits from WebControl. In the WebControl, I can override OnPreRender, which then does this: foreach (Control control in this.Parent.Controls) { if (control.ToString() == "Microsoft.SharePoint.WebControls.NewMenu") { control.Visible = false; } // etc } This is pretty hacky, and I was just wondering if there is a better way of doing it?

  • Need to hide displayed div when I show others

    - by adrian collins
    I am stuck. I have a page with 3 buttons, the 3 buttons do a couple things - they change the style of a div, and they also show/hide a content div. The changing of the div style works fine, but I am having issues with the content div. If you land on the page and click the "Our Brands" tab, then click the other 2 tabs, it works fine. If you land on the page, and click "What's New" or "About Us" first, then the show/hide does not work correctly - it does not until you actually click on "Our Brands." http://www.adriancollins.net/clients/kennys/ Any help would be appreciated, I am a designer first, a developer about 9000th. Show/Hide Code <script type="text/javascript"> var _hidediv = null; function showdiv(id) { if(_hidediv) _hidediv(); var div = document.getElementById(id); div.style.display = 'block'; _hidediv = function () { div.style.display = 'none'; }; } </script> Tab Divs <div id="brand_button"><a href="#" onClick="showdiv('brands_content'); lower.className='blue';angle.className='blue_angle';return false"><img src="wp-content/uploads/2012/10/brands_button.png"></a></div> <div id="whatsnew_button"><a href="#" onClick="showdiv('new_content');lower.className='black';angle.className='black_angle';return false"><img src="wp-content/uploads/2012/10/whatsnew_button.png"></a></div> <div id="about_button"><a href="#" onClick="showdiv('about_content');lower.className='green';angle.className='green_angle';return false"><img src="wp-content/uploads/2012/10/about_button.png"></a></div> Content Divs <div id="brands_content">Content...</div> <div id="whats_content">Content...</div> <div id="about_content">Content...</div> CSS #brands_content { position: relative; display: block; width: 990px; top: 10px; height: auto; min-height: 800px; margin-left: auto; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; z-index: 12; } #new_content { position: relative; display: none; width: 990px; top: 10px; height: auto; min-height: 800px; margin-left: auto; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; z-index: 999; color: #fff; } #about_content { position: relative; display: none; width: 990px; top: 10px; height: auto; min-height: 800px; margin-left: auto; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; border: 0px; padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px; z-index: 999; } Thanks

  • Sphinx, reStructuredText show\hide code snippets

    - by Adam Matan
Hi, I've been documenting a software package using Sphinx and reStructuredText. Within my documents, there are some long code snippets. I want to be able to have them hidden as default, with a little "Show\Hide" button that would expand them (Example). Is there a standard way to do that? If not, I think I will suggest this feature to the developers. Thanks, Adam

Hey guys, i have a problem, how do I disable all toast messages being process currently? In my App, there is a list, when a user clicks on an item, a toast message is being displayed, 10 items - 10 toast messages, so if the user clicks 10 times, then presses the menu button... he has to wait for some seconds, until he's able to read the menu option text. shouldn't be like that :) thanks a lot! greets //did research, nobody asked something similar, hopefully //some keyboards: disable hide toast messages from showing deactivate stop

  • flex combobox hide and show down arrow

    - by crazy horse
I am looking to implement a search text box as follows: When user starts typing in and there are non-zero results, the text box will open up and display the results below it. When the user selects a result, the text box closed, but this time with a down-arrow (like a combobox) so that the user can re-open the list. I suspect what I really need is a combobox with ability to hide/show the down arrow. How do I do this in Flex? Thanks in advance.

  • SSRS: Report loading external images, image not found, can I hide the image control

    - by Nauman
My SSRS report loads logo images for each customer from a customer number specific folder on the report server. I write an expression, to form my URL to the image based on th customer number. ..."http://localhost/images/" + iCustomerNumber.ToString() + "/logo.gif" I am able to get this working, but the problem I face is, when a particular customer doesn't has an image, then my report shows a red X mark in place of the logo. In this case, I expect to hide the image control itself. Any thoughts???? The other dirty solution will be to ensure that each customer specific folder has the designated image! even if there is no logo for a customer, I'll place a blank.gif or a spacer.gif of probably a square pixel in dimension!.

  • Clean way to display/hide a bunch of buttons based on a ComboBox selection

    - by John at CashCommons
I'm writing a standalone application in VB.NET using Visual Studio 2005. I want to display/hide a bunch of Buttons based on the selected value of a ComboBox. Each selection would have a different set of Buttons to display, and I'd like to have them arranged in a nice grid. Driving a TabControl with the ComboBox value would be the kind of behavior I want, but I don't want it to look like a TabControl to the user because it might be confusing. Is there a way to do this? Basically, I'd like Selection1 of the ComboBox to show Buttons 1-4, Selection2 to show Buttons 5-11, Selection3 to show (maybe) Buttons 1, 3, 5, 6, and 8, etc., have them arranged nicely, and have the GUI show only the ComboBox and the buttons. Thanks in advance as always!

  • JavaScript: how to use data but to hide it so as it cannot be reused

    - by loukote
Hi all. I've some data that i'd like to publish just on one website, ie. it should not be reused on other websites. The data is a set of numbers that change every day, our journalists work to get hard gather it. Is there any way to hide, crypt, etc. the data in a way that it cannot be reused by others? But to show it in a graph in the same time? I found the ASCII to HEX tool that could be used for (http://utenti.multimania.it/ascii2hex/). I wonder if you can suggest other ways. (Even if I have to completely change the strategy.) Many thanks!

  • Hide div when clicking outside

    - by scferg
I've searched and search not only google but also here and still have to find a solution that will work. I have a div that is hidden by default, then toggled by clicking on a link. I also want it to hide when you click outside of the div. Simple, I thought, but nothing I've tried had worked yet. This is the jquery: <script type="text/javascript"> function toggleDiv(divID) { $("#"+divID).fadeToggle(200); } </script> And the link that toggles it: <a onclick="toggleDiv('myDiv');">Link</a> And then the div: <div id="myDiv"> stuff </div> If anyone has any advice, I would really appreciate it.

  • jquery ajaxstart ajaxstop show hide

    - by user1630583
As usually seemingly simple things take days to resolve, maybe someone could point me to a solution but after 2 days I give up on the following problem; In html, in a form I have a button that is supposed to trigger loading of data through ajax call: <button type="" class="btn" onclick="getData(); return false;">Show Data</button> in javascript: $(document).ajaxStart(function() { $("#qloader").show(); }).ajaxStop(function() { $("#qloader").hide('slow'); });? and in html div with id qloader is defined with 100% width and height and spinner centered as the background, z-index above other: <div id="qloader" class="myLoader" >&nbsp;</div> Now, when page loads, ajax call is executed to get initial data, qloader div is brought up and it shows the spinner - animated, after ajax call finishes, qloader is hidden by ajaxStop. Next, when I click on a button (show data) to initiate another ajax call, ajaxStart is triggered, but it does not show qloader, it waits until ajaxStop is triggered and then in a blink of eye it shows qloader and hides it. I suspected that ajaxStart is not executed, so I put alert before $("#qloader").show(), then alert would be displayed and after that qloader WOULD be displayed BUT spinner animation would be suspended - no spinning, and after ajaxStop it would get hidden. Without alert in ajaxStart trigger, in subsequent ajax calls div is not shown until just before ajaxStop is triggered. It works fine for the first ajax call, but for subsequent ajax call triggered by click on form button it does not work. Any idea what is wrong with this setup?

  • Pure CSS3 show/hide full height div with transition

    - by user1898838
Dear Stackoverflow readers, I've been breaking my head over something I've seen at Tympanus, and I can't figure out how to properly do such a thing. In this link: http://tympanus.net/Tutorials/FullscreenBookBlock/ you can see that the menu is completely hidden, and only visible when you click on an icon. It has a lovely transition, and it basically roughly sums up what I'm trying to accomplish. The only difference with the above example is that I don't want to completely hide this full-height element, and I'd like to accomplish the above effect with a hover instead of having to click a button. So in an ideal world you'd see a vertical bar, and when you hover over that bar (or click on it with your finger if you're on a tablet), it "opens up" and shows you the full content inside the opened div. Now, I can make a decent bit in html5 and css3, but the above explained effect that I'm trying to accomplish has given me serious headaches, hehe. Does anyone happen to know a tutorial I might have missed that does this exact thing? p.s.: I have tried to take apart Tympanus' html/css, but with the page-fold effect that's also implemented in it I can't seem to figure it out, hence my hope for someone here to help me on my way :)
