  • Can't send e-mail to hotmail addresses

    I recently did a mailing to a lot of hotmail addresses and now all the e-mails I send out (from PHP by the way) don't seem to reach their destination. So I figure hotmail banned my url... Is there any way to get rid of this ban so my e-mails will reach the users again (like activation e-mails etc)?

    Ok this is somenthing unbelievable, we have a website, users sign up and receives links to confirm they signed up BUT: 1 - microsoft blocked our IP (no one with microsoft email account can receive our emails) 2 - we tryed contacting microsoft submitting the detailed form about our problem 3 - we posted 3 times in their community about our problem 4 - we tweeted they about our problem 5 - we tryed finding out some telephone support number (the few there are arent' helping at all) Do you think we solved? the answer is NO :/ We still unable to send emails from our IP to microsoft email accounts, since 3 months back. Our emails are perfect we checked all the email headers following microsoft guidelines but it seems not enought, checking our IP reputation it seems everythings ok, indeed we can send email easly to any other provider , gmail, yahoo, etc Do you know any other way to try to get help ?   • Link to Hotmail / Windows Live email compose -- maintaining BCC

    My app creates a mailto-esque link that takes the end user to a Hotmail compose screen with various attributes pre-filled. Most of the functionality I need is working: to, cc, subject, body. However, Hotmail seems to be stripping out any BCC attributes that I pass into the URL. For example, this link works as advertised: http://mail.live.com/mail/EditMessageLight.aspx?n=&[email protected]&[email protected];%[email protected]&subject=the%20subject&body=the%20body I get the one email address in the To field and two in the CC field. But when I try the exact same URL except substituting "bcc" for "cc", the two addresses are nowhere to be found. http://mail.live.com/mail/EditMessageLight.aspx?n=&[email protected]&[email protected];%[email protected]&subject=the%20subject&body=the%20body This link format is posted all over the web (along with a variation like http://mail.live.com/default.aspx?rru=compose%3f[attributes] ), but none of the various settings that I've tried actually work to bring in the BCC addresses. I need the BCC so that the email recipients are not given each others' email addresses. My versions of this url for regular old mailto, along with Gmail and Yahoo Mail, work perfectly.     I have a website where I want to allow the users to invite their friends, by getting their contacts in hotmail/msn. Google has the google contacts API for these purposes, does MSN publish a similar javascript API? Please note that I do not want to ask the user for their username/password like http://openinviter.com/ . Also, if anyone can provide some tutorials / examples I would appreciate it, as Microsoft docs are usually hard to understand :)

    My website sends activation mails to new members using the php mail() function. I manage my email accounts using the google mail service (aspmx.googlemail.com). But unfortunately, Hotmail users receive the activation email in their unwanted folder. I did some research and found out about SPF records (I can not use keys since I have limited control over my webserver). So how do I configure my SPF record? I now have: v=spf1 a mx a:mywebsite.net include:aspmx.googlemail.com ~all Would this be what I need?

    I just recently noticed I have to attempt a login into hotmail twice before it succeeds. Although I'm using Google Chrome (3.0.195.21), the symptoms are well described in a Mozilla thread. In short, I'm told: The e-mail address or password is incorrect. Please try again. The thread on mozilla's site that supposed to describe the latest details (and the 1st hit on google when I search for "hotmail login twice") requires an account to read so I'm hoping someone here has a good synopsis of what the cause is. I normally start at hotmail.com, which redirects to login.live.com/.... I can login by starting at mail.live.com, using IE8 or attempting a 2nd login. Oddly, if I start at login.live.com Chrome tells me there is a redirect loop. Does anyone know or have a public link to the root cause of the double login? (it is a hotmail account I'm login into) EDIT - Caused by my 'restricting how 3rd parties can use cookies'. If I allow all cookies, it works first time.

This error is based mostly on mobile devices, mostly on iPhones and mostly on mobile networks. This is how much I have narrowed it to. I believe: Hotmail checks where your are connecting from If it is a mobile network it requires additional security for sending messages but the default iPhone config does not have this option for hotmail if the user creates the hotmail account on the iPhone with SMTP AUTH enabled manually it might solve the situation Cheers, Tony

  • e-mail no longer coming to aol inbox since I opened a Hotmail account [closed]

    I recently set up an email account with Hotmail. I have used AOL e-mail for years and would like to keep this as my main source for sending/receiving e-mail. When I set up the Hotmail account there was an option to have all my e-mail accounts forwarded to the Hotmail inbox. I set up this option and the page promised that all incoming mail would still be visible in the original inbox, in this case my AOL account. Well everything does come to the Hotmail account, the only problem is that I no longer receive these e-mails in my primary/desired location which is AOL. I went back and made sure the box was checked that provided the option through Hotmail that said "leave a copy of my messages on the server" (AOL) How do I get the e-mail that is being forwarded to Hotmail from my AOL account to still be visible in AOL, it should be in AOL inbox as that is the original destination but it is gone. Suggestions?

  • How can people still be getting spam from a hotmail account that's been closed?

    My wife had an old hotmail account which she recently closed. Some people that she used to communicate with from that account have recently been receiving spam emails from this account. I don't see how this is possible because the account is closed. I considered that maybe the email address is being spoofed, is there a way I can tell from looking at the email headers or something? Or should I take this up with hotmail?

  • How to apply Outlook Junk Mail rules using Hotmail Connector?

    I use Outlook 2010 with Hotmail connector. MS says that you can sync your Outlook rules with your Hotmail but I cant see how. My actual problem is - I add a guy to my Junk blocked senders list (and I check it visually - it is in the list). But I keep receiving emails from this guy. It doesnt go to the Junk folder in Outlook. I need my Outlook to honor the rules locally at least. Is it possible?

  • Is there a Hotmail Adapter for Outlook 2011 on Mac?

    Ironically, the ONLY email account I have that does not run on the new Outlook 2011 for Mac is my MSN account....totally mad but true...I have to run it in Mac Mail which autoconfigures the account no problem whereas Outlook 2011 does not and there seems to be no connector unless you are running a PC! Does anyone know if there is HOTMAIL/MSN connector for Outlook 2011 available anywhere or is there a way around it?

  • Recent Hotmail Update is crashing FireFox. Is there a fix available

    I have latest version of FireFox. It has always worked fine using HOTMAIL until recently. I check a checkbox on my items list and FireFox chokes. Thinking back it seems to have started after a recent FireBug update so that may be related. I am liking the older version of Firebug better by the way but thats another post alltogether.
