  • I can't install using Wubi due to permission denied error

    I can't install ubuntu 11.10 inside my windows 7. It shows permission denied while installation.   • Custom flash uploader breaks only on Media Temple

    I've built a flash uploader to upload files up to 100MB using a php backend. It works wonderfully on our dev server, on a hostgator vps, and on one of our clients' servers running Debian. It will not work on our Media Temple (dv)3.5 and I don't know why. The upload will start but will choke after a few seconds with this flash error message: ioerror: [IOErrorEvent type="ioError" bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2 text="Error #2038: File I/O Error. URL: http://..._upload.php"] The problem seems to be specific to the asynchronous nature of the flash uploader because if I try a straight php upload it works fine. The php.ini settings are set to allow such a large upload as well. Also, I've thoroughly googled flash, 2038, I/O error, etc but have yet to find anything that helped. Here's the weird part though: We work in Seattle. It won't work from the office. It won't work from home. But, while on the phone with MT's support, they were able to upload a file through our flash uploader just fine. I'm not sure where his office was located but I think it was Atlanta. So the problem also seems specific to physical location. Has anyone run into this sort of problem before?

    Hi, I'm just wondering if anybody can help me with my simple but frustrating problem. I have created an SWF that loads an XML file from http://localhost/flash/Projects/MEL/Quiz/Quiz/bin/xml/quiz.xml, but I get this error when running the movie using Test Movie in the Flash IDE. I know Windows 7 handles localhost name resolution differently compared to previous versions of Windows but I have even added 127.0.0.1 localhost to my hosts file to no avail. Can anyone shed any light on this issue?

    First, Python Newbie; be patient/kind. Next, once a month I receive a large text file (think 7 Million records) to test for duplicate values. This is catalog information. I get 7 fields, but the two I'm interested in are a supplier code and a full orderable part number. To determine if the record is dupliacted, I compress all special characters from the part number (except . and #) and create a compressed part number. The test for duplicates becomes the supplier code and compressed part number combination. This part is fairly straight forward. Currently, I am just copying the original file with 2 new columns (compressed part and duplicate indicator). If the part is a duplicate, I put a "YES" in the last field. Now that this is done, I want to be able to go back (or better yet, at the same time) to get the previous record where there was a supplier code/compressed part number match.   • All Xen domU LVM volumes corrupt after reboot

    I'm running a Debian Squeeze dom0, and after rebooting it all 7 of my domUs have data corruption. Each is setup as ext3 partition directly on a separate lvm2 volume. None of the lvm volumes will mount; all have bad superblocks. I've tried e2fsck with each superblock to no avail. What else can I try? Each domU has two LVM volumes connected to it, one for the disk and one for swap. The disk is mounted at root, formatted as a normal ext3 partition as a xen-blk device. The volumes are never mounted outside of the guest OS. I'm running Ubuntu 11.04 using the instructions here. I'm not sure that they didn't shutdown properly, all I know is they were corrupt after I issues a clean 'reboot' on the dom0.     Hello, I am trying to setup a script for backing up a linux box to a CIFS share. I manually mounted the CIFS share and created a few test folders - OK I then ran duplicity manually with a rather simple command to begin with to make sure things work and well Not OK on this one :) duplicity /root file:///cifsmountfolder/existingfolder/ results: No signatures found, switching to full backup.
