• How to disable vertical bounce/scroll on iPhone in a mobile web application

  As the title says, i need to disable vertical bounce on iphone on my mobile web form application. Ive tried alot of different things, but most of them disables my form or horizontal scroll and bounce as well. Any ideas? Im using jquery.mobile btw :) Update: I actually managed to get the code from the first answer working somewhat: function stopScrolling( touchEvent ) { touchEvent.preventDefault(); } document.addEventListener( 'touchstart' , stopScrolling , false ); document.addEventListener( 'touchmove' , stopScrolling , false ); The reason why I couldnt get it to work in the first place, was that there actually was some margin on my body (stupid me). But. As the layout is fluid and im using jquery.mobile and have <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1, maximum-scale=1"> in the header (I think) it doesnt work properly. The page is zoomed out (view from like a desktop browser) and zooming is disabled. Without the code, the page scales perfectly right from an 50" tv to the smallest nokia on the planet. Am I doing something wrong? Im starting to think the problem is caused by the body/content somehow being over 100% of the viewport. No idea how though.

• Two objects with dependencies for each other. Is that bad?

  Hi SO. I am learning a lot about design patterns these days. And I want to ask you about a design question that I can't find an answer to. Currently I am building a little Chat-server using sockets, with multiple Clients. Currently I have three classes. Person-class which holds information like nick, age and a Room-object. Room-class which holds information like room-name, topic and a list of Persons currently in that room. Hotel-class which have a list of Persons and a list of Rooms on the server. I have made a diagram to illustrate it (Sorry for the big size!): http://i.imgur.com/Kpq6V.png I have a list of players on the server in the Hotel-class because it would be nice to keep track of how many there are online right now (Without having to iterate through all of the rooms). The persons live in the Hotel-class because I would like to be able to search for a specific Person without searching the rooms. Is this bad design? Is there another way of achieve it? Thanks.

Second one is: How to delete specific user data lines (data lines and --- userx ---) i.e. I would like to delete usr2 with all his data set. It must work on bash 2.05 :) and I think it will use awk or sed, but I'm not sure.

• How can I see which shared folders my program has access to?

  My program needs to read and write to folders on other machines that might be in another domain. So I used the System.Runtime.InteropServices to add shared folders. This worked fine when it was hard coded in the main menu of my windows service. But since then something went wrong and I don't know if it is a coding error or configuration error. What is the scope of a shared folder? If a thread in my program adds a shared folder, can the entire local machine see it? Is there a way to view what shared folders has been added? Or is there a way to see when a folder is added?   I am new to creating forms in Visual Studio and C#. But I made a UI that has some comboboxes where the DropDownStyle is DropDownList. The items shown is Yes and No. But I need to assign this as a boolean value to a property on some object ai and currently do this: if (cmbExample.Text == "Yes") { ai.isPacketType = true; } else if (cmbExample.Text == "No") { ai.isPacketType = false; } I basically want to do something like this (or some other one liner): ai.isPacketType = cmbExample.Text; How do I link the Text Yes to the value true and No to false?

• Fading out everything but (this) - while honoring a click()

  I'm trying to achieve a fading navigation system, where everything in the nav but the element being hovered will fade out to say, 0.3 opacity. At the same time, I want clicks to have a greater "value", so as to not fade out a clicked element (or in this case, the active subpage).. That didn't make much sense to me either, I'll just post the code I have. <nav id="main"> <ul> <li> <a>work</a> </li> <li> <a>about me</a> </li> <li> <a>contact</a> </li> </ul> </nav> And the script that makes it sparkle: var nava = "nav#main ul li a"; $(nava).hover(function(){ $(nava).not(this).removeClass().addClass("inactive"); $(this).addClass("active"); }); $(nava).click(function(){ $(this).removeClass().addClass("active"); }); }); And the classes / css(less): .inactive{color:@color2; border-bottom:0 solid #000;} .active{color:@color1; border-bottom:1px solid #000;} nav#main ul li a{color:@color1;} Basically the hover states take priority over the click, which I do not want to happen. Ideally I'd like for all of the anchor elements to revert to its original state whenever you hover out from the unordered list holding it all.   I've been following this guide which uses this default.vcl. However, when starting Varnish I get the following error: * Starting HTTP accelerator [fail] storage_malloc: max size 1024 MB. • Java EE 7 JSR Submitted

  Java EE 7 has been filed as JSR 342 in the JCP program. This JSR (Java Specification Request) will develop Java EE 7, the next version of the Java Platform, Enterprise Edition. It is an "umbrella JSR" because the specification includes a collection of several other JSRs. The proposal suggests the addition of two new JSRs: Concurrency Utilities for Java EE (JSR-236) and JCache (JSR-107) as well as updates to JPA, JAX-RS, JSF, Servlets, EJB, JSP, EL, JMS, JAX-WS, CDI, Bean Validation, JSR-330, JSR-250, and Java Connector Architecture. There are also two new APIs under discussion: a Java Web Sockets API and a Java JSON API. These are the new JSRs that are currently up for ballot:• JSR 342: Java Platform, Enterprise Edition 7 Specification• JSR 340: Java Servlet 3.1 Specification• JSR 341: Expression Language 3.0• JSR 343: Java Message Service 2.0• JSR 344: JavaServer Faces 2.2All 5 JSRs are now up for Executive Committee voting with ballots closing on 14 March, and slated for inclusion in Java EE  7.  All of these JSRs are also open for Expert Group nominations. • Why maven is not working in eclipse indigo?

  I'm trying to make a simple log in/ log out web application with maven and I'm creating the project with the command: " mvn archetype:generate " and choose 341 and it'll be created with the structure below: webapp -----src/main/java -----Referenced Libraries -----Maven Dependencies -----src -----target pom.xml But when I add some dependencies and update the project something weird happening with the structure of the project according to the picture below: webapp -----src/main/java -----Referenced Libraries -----JRE System Library -----src -----target pom.xml and it's not working any more. As you can see the the first one has a Maven dependencies Library but the second one has been changed to JRE System Library. I use mac os lion and eclipse indigo. Anyone how knows why is like that? • JCP.Next - Early Adopters of JCP 2.8

  JCP.Next is a series of three JSRs (JSR 348, JSR 355 and JSR 358), to be defined through the JCP process itself, with the JCP Executive Committee serving as the Expert Group. The proposed JSRs will modify the JCP's processes  - the Process Document and Java Specification Participation Agreement (JSPA) and will apply to all new JSRs for all Java platforms.   The first - JCP.next.1, or more formally JSR 348, Towards a new version of the Java Community Process - was completed and put into effect in October 2011 as JCP 2.8. This focused on a small number of simple but important changes to make our process more transparent and to enable broader participation. We're already seeing the benefits of these changes as new and existing JSRs adopt the new requirements. The second - JSR 355, Executive Committee Merge, is also Final. You can read the JCP 2.9 Process Document .  As part of the JSR 355 Final Release, the JCP Executive Committee published revisions to the JCP Process Document (version 2.9) and the EC Standing Rules (version 2.2).  The changes went into effect following the 2012 EC Elections in November. The third JSR 358, A major revision of the Java Community Process was submitted in June 2012.  This JSR will modify the Java Specification Participation Agreement (JSPA) as well as the Process Document, and will tackle a large number of complex issues, many of them postponed from JSR 348. For these reasons, the JCP EC (acting as the Expert Group for this JSR), expects to spend a considerable amount of time working on. The JSPA is defined by the JCP as "a one-year, renewable agreement between the Member and Oracle. The success of the Java community depends upon an open and transparent JCP program.  JSR 358, A major revision of the Java Community Process, is now in process and can be followed on java.net.
