chrome download interrupted leaving ".crdownload" temporary file

I am using Google Chrome 15.0.874.121 in Ubuntu 10.10. It was fine until recently. Whenever download a file, it always reports "Interrupted", but it actually finishes the downloading, leaving an intermediate file with extension ".crdownload". If removed the extension, the file will be perfect. Note that downloading in Firefox works fine at the same time. So I wonder if it is a bug or how I can fix it? Thanks and regards!

Leaving my ongoing internship for a better company

Hi. I am currently employed as an intern with a software company X. I had no particular interest in working on their line of work, but since I had no other alternative, I had to join it. I had also applied to a good company Y, which has a better name than X and the work is exactly what I wanted. More than anything, the mention of Y on my resume will make a big difference later. I really had no idea that Y would accept me, since they were not replying to my repeated requests to inform me of the status of my application. Now fifteen days into my internship with X, Y sent me an offer letter to join. What should I do now? There are other interns working with X on the same project I was, and so of course the work won't suffer. My problem is, I want to quit X, but how do I do it in the most polite way possible? I am afraid to ask my boss, he is rude already and I fear he might take it badly. And how do I handle this in my resume? If two years down the line someone asks me why I left X for Y, won't that look bad? I am really confused, working with Y would be like a dream come true. But I fear the negative impact of leaving X. Hoping that someone can perhaps share a similar experience.

C# HashSet<T>

I hadn’t done much (read: anything) with the C# generic HashSet until I recently needed to produce a distinct collection. As it turns out, HashSet<T> was the perfect tool. I’m using the Linq ForEach syntax to add all valid items to the employees HashSet. It works really great. This is just a rough sample, but you may have noticed I’m using Employee, a reference type. Most samples demonstrate the power of the HashSet with a collection of integers which is kind of cheating. With value types you don’t have to worry about defining your own equality members. Hi guys, i need to create an employee shift database. so i have 3 tables so far, employee, employee_shift, and shift im suppose to calculate how many shifts an employee has done at the end of the month, my question means, because a month has 30 days some have 28 and 31 days. this means i need to create in the shift table 31 different variations? one for each day of the month? in order to calculate which employee has worked the most? in my business relation it says an employee has either 1 or 2 shifts per day therefore do i have to have 60 different rows of variations? im i right or is there an easy way to work it out

Leaving Microsoft

After two and a half years working with the ASP.NET team, I’ve decided that this is the right time to leave Microsoft and, with the help of some friends, re-launch my ASP.NET training and consulting company. The company has the modest name Superexpert. While working on my Ph.D. at MIT, I was surrounded by professors and students who were passionate about knowledge. During the Internet boom, I was lucky enough to work side-by-side with some very smart and hard-working people to create several successful startups. However, the people I worked with at Microsoft were among the smartest and hardest working. Microsoft hires a small number of people and gives them huge responsibilities. It continues to amaze me that so few people work on the ASP.NET team when you consider how much the team produces. I had the opportunity to work with a number of inspiring people at Microsoft. I’ll miss working with Scott Hunter, Dave Reed, Boris Moore, Eilon Lipton, Scott Guthrie, James Senior, Jim Wang, Phil Haack, Damian Edwards, Vishal Joshi, Mike Pope, Jon Young, Dmitry Robsman, Simon Calvert, Stefan Schackow, and many others. I’m proud of what we accomplished while I was working at Microsoft. We reached out to the jQuery team and changed direction from Microsoft Ajax to jQuery. We successfully contributed several important new features to the open-source jQuery project including jQuery Templates, jQuery Data-Linking, jQuery Globalization, and (as John Resig announced at the last jQuery conference) jQuery Require. I’m looking forward to returning to training and consulting. We want to focus on providing consulting on the “right way” of building ASP.NET websites, which we call Modern ASP.NET applications. By Modern ASP.NET applications, I mean applications built with ASP.NET MVC, jQuery, HTML5, and Visual Studio ALM. Additionally, we want to help companies that have existing ASP.NET Web Forms applications migrate to ASP.NET MVC.
