  • Django: reverse lookup URL of feeds?

    I am having trouble doing a reverse URL lookup for Django-generated feeds. I have the following setup in urls.py: feeds = { 'latest': LatestEntries, } urlpatterns = patterns('', # ... # enable feeds (RSS) url(r'^feeds/(?P<url>.*)/$', 'django.contrib.syndication.views.feed', {'feed_dict': feeds}, name='feeds_view'), ) I have tried using the following template tag: <a href="{% url feeds_view latest %}">RSS feeds</a> But the resulting link is not what want (http://my.domain.com/feeds//). It should be http://my.domain.com/feeds/latest/. For now, I am using a hack to generate the URL for the template: <a href="http://{{ request.META.HTTP_HOST }}/feeds/latest">RSS feeds</a> But, as you can see, it clearly is not DRY. Is there something I am missing?

    Let's say I have a table with the following columns: Employees Table employeeID int employeeName varchar(50) managerID int totalOrganization int managerID is referential to employeeID. totalOrganization is currently 0 for all records. I'd like to update totalOrganization on each row to the total number of employees under them. So with the following records: employeeID employeeName managerID totalOrganization 1 John Cruz NULL 0 2 Mark Russell 1 0 3 Alice Johnson 1 0 4 Juan Valdez 3 0 The query should update the totalOrganizations to: employeeID employeeName managerID totalOrganization 1 John Cruz NULL 3 2 Mark Russell 1 0 3 Alice Johnson 1 1 4 Juan Valdez 3 0 I know I can get somewhat of an org. chart using the following CTE: WITH OrgChart (employeeID, employeeName,managerID,level) AS ( SELECT employeeID,employeeName,0 as managerID,0 AS Level FROM Employees WHERE managerID IS NULL UNION ALL SELECT Employees.employeeID,Employees.employeeName,Employees.managerID,Level + 1 FROM Employees INNER JOIN OrgChart ON Employees.managerID = OrgChart.employeeID ) SELECT employeeID,employeeName,managerID, level FROM OrgChart; Is there any way to update the Employees table using a stored procedure rather than building some routine outside of SQL to parse through the data?

    Does anyone know how and when Gravatar refreshes their icon caches? I changed my gravatar image for an email about a week ago. For the most part, my profiles that use it have had their avatar icons of various sizes refreshed, except one.   • Oracle .NET Provider DLL hell

    I am currently developing on a Win7-32bits computer. Everything works fine. It's a ASP.NET application. I was able to use Microsoft's Oracle deprecated .NET provider to connect to Oracle (using 32 bit instant client) and also ODP.NET. No problems at all. Application runs fine. The problem comes when I deploy it to IIS7 on Windows 2008 Server 64bit computer. I can't get Microsoft's deprecated .NET provider or ODP.NET to work easily. Is there a straightforward way to use a 32bit based ODP.NET or Microsoft's Oracle deprecated .NET provider in Windows 2008 Server 64bits? DLL hell here! Thanks.

  • PF, load balanced gateways, and Squid

    Hi, So I have a FreeBSD router running PF and Squid, and it has three network interfaces: two connected to upstream providers (em0 and em1 respectively), and one for LAN (re0) that we serve. There is some load balancing configured with PF. Basically, it routes all traffic to ports 1-1024 through one interface (em0) and everything else through the other (em1). Now, I have a Squid proxy also running on the box that transparently redirects any HTTP request from LAN to port 3128 in 127.0.0.1. Since Squid redirects this request to HTTP outside, it should follow the load balancing rule through em0, no? The problem is, when we tested it out (by browsing from a computer in the LAN to http://whatismyip.com, it reports the external IP of the em1 interface! When we turn Squid off, the external IP of em0 is reported, as expected. How do I make Squid behave with the load balancing rule that we have set up?   • Caching query results in django

    I'm trying to find a way to cache the results of a query that won't change with frequency. For example, categories of products from an e-commerce (cellphones, TV, etc). I'm thinking of using the template fragment caching, but in this fragment, I will iterate over a list of these categories. This list is avaliable in any part of the site, so it's in my base.html file. Do I have always to send the list of categories when rendering the templates? Or is there a more dynamic way to do this, making the list always available in the template?

For example: DotNetNuke did some efforts in the past to be able to run under Medium Trust: is that still true? what is the % of DNN that run in partial trust (i.e. not full trust)? what & of DNN modules run in partial trust?) Sharepoint defaults to a Partially-Trusted environment on dlls executed from the bin folder: How many 'commercially' available WebParts can run in this bin folder (without changing the policy)? The key here is to be able to point to CAS success stories, so that other companies feel that they should also invest in writing CAS-enabled apps

  • Force CL-Lex to read whole word

    I'm using CL-Lex to implement a lexer (as input for CL-YACC) and my language has several keywords such as "let" and "in". However, while the lexer recognizes such keywords, it does too much. When it finds words such as "init", it returns the first token as IN, while it should return a "CONST" token for the "init" word. This is a simple version of the lexer: (define-string-lexer lexer (...) ("in" (return (values :in $@))) ("[a-z]([a-z]|[A-Z]|\_)" (return (values :const $@)))) How do I force the lexer to fully read the whole word until some whitespace appears?

  • How do I make nested regroups in Django?

    I've got the following situation in this system: Each category of products has many subcategories, and each subcategory has many products under it. I'm trying to make a product searh, which returns a list, and in my template, I show an overview of the results, like this: Cellphones Dumbphones (2 results) Smartphones (3 results) Monitors CRT (1 result) LCD (3 results) I'm my template I have only the list of products. I've tryed many combinations of nested regroups, without success. Any ideas?

  • Encountering NullPointerException when trying to add polynoms

    I need to add two polynomials, which is composed of two ints. For example, the coefficient and the exponent 3x^2 would be constructed using 3 and 2 as parameters. When viewing the report, it seems like the year is being processed properly, while the period and subperiod are using their initial values. I'm confused because they are the exact same select statement, but are not working as intended.   • Halloween: Season for Java Embedded Internet of Spooky Things (IoST) (Part 5)

    So, here's the finished product. I have 8 networked Raspberry Pi devices strategically placed around our Oracle Santa Clara Building 21 office. I attached a JFET transistor based EMF sensor on each device to capture any strange fluctuations in the electromagnetic field (which supposedly, paranormal spirits can change as they pass by). And, I have have a Web app (embedded in this page) which can take the readings and show a graphical display in real-time. As you can see, all the Raspberry Pi devices are blinking away green, indicating they are all operational and all sensors are working correctly. But, I don't see anything... Darn... Maybe, I have to stare at the Web app for a while. I don't know when the "alleged" ghosts in our Oracle Santa Clara office are supposed to be active, but let me know if you see anything...
