  • Strange Exchange 2010 Mailbox issues

    A little bit of information on my environment. I have 2 Exchange 2010 mailbox servers setup in a DAG, connected to a VNX SAN via fiber for the mailbox database disks. One of the servers seems to be working fine as it isn't throwing any similar errors but the other has been receiving strange errors in Event Viewer. I haven't been able to find a pattern to when these happen and I'm not really sure what I should be looking at to troubleshoot this. At this point I am wondering if the issue resides on the SAN or if this is because of an improper shutdown or something else on the Exchange side of things?   • Linux shared library that uses a shared library undefined symbol

    two shared libraries liba.so and libb.so. liba.so uses libb.so. All c files are compiled with -fPIC. Linking uses -shared. When we call dlopen on liba.so it cannot find symbols in libb.so...we get the "undefined symbol" error. We can dlopen libb.so with no errors. We know that liba is finding libb because we don't get a file not found error. We get a file not found error when we delete libb.so. We tried -lutil and no luck. Any ideas???? oh yeah. gcc 4.1.2

  • Exchange 2010 OWA- Open Other User Mailbox

    I just started working for this small firm (30 people) a little bit ago, replacing their System Admin. First thing I noticed was Exchange Server 2010 was WAY out of date. Believe it or not they did not have SP1 installed. So after I installed and configured Exchange 2010 SP3 and redirected OWA I noticed something in OWA. I could add ANYONE's User Mailbox WITHOUT giving mailbox premission. I created a couple test users, same thing. I even had another employee provide me access to their OWA and they could open anyone's Inbox without granting permission. I don't want to play the blame game, but I was SHOCKED that this was going on. Luckly being such a small company I'll be able to cover this mistake that I did not create, BUT HOW? My guess is that I need to find out where the past System Admin went wrong in providing Full Access Permission? Or could this be a Auto-Mapping issue?     i installed shotwell 0.12 like so via its official ppa sudo add-apt-repository ppa:yorba/ppa sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install shotwell and when i tried to run it via dash it didn't start. i then typed in the gnome-terminal "shotwell" I then got this error error while loading shared libraries: libgexiv2.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory my question is how to get shotwell 0.12 up and running in ubuntu 11.10 amd64

    The program evince complains that it can't find libfreetype.so.6; however I clearly have the file and its included in my LD_LIBRARY_PATH; furthermore I have another program which uses libfreetype6 and is able to run just fine.     I am aware that the shared mailbox feature is an exclusive microsoft feature in exchange and does not work on any non microsoft products. I am trying to create a workaround so am looking for a way to automatically export a calendar by schedule or any other means. Does anybody know any good Outlook plugins that would do something like that? it must export either in csv or iCal or some kind of other readable format.

    I have a Linux server that has local mail service. There are few user accounts on this server. User may send the mail to each other but that only restrict to LAN environment only. For example, I may # mail user1 to send mail to user1. User are not able to send mail to public. Some service like hylafax using this local mail service to send notification of fax status. I don't want to manage and maintain local mail service anymore. I have subscribed a package from ISP to host a public domain of my own. I wish to have my hylafax service to able to send the notification mails to public mail server, is that possible to do it? It is great if all mails that send to local mail server may forward to public mail server. That makes the local mail service serve mail forward only.

    Hi, I've set up a shared email account at Exchange, which several users have access to, as a secondary mailbox (along with their personal mailbox) I would like to know if the following is possible all replies and/or mail created when "in" the shared account, is sent from the shared account all sent mail end up in the sent mail folder of the shared account, not the individual users sent mail folders users can set custom signatures when sending mail from the shared account Is this possible to accomplish with Exchange 2007/Outlook, using server and/or clientside rules?   • Converting a GMail Label Mailbox to a Set of PDFs

    I do have a rather large task to do: I need to convert a folder in my gmail with lots of tagged messages either as a large PDF (which Adobe Acrobat does on Outlook - Except the latter crashes while loading this mailbox) or as a individual PDF (which I plan to link on a Wiki Database) While it doesn't fully need to be in PDF (as long as I can, say, outsource to someone else to convert each .eml file as a .pdf file), I need to have them splitted so I could cross-reference them on a Wiki. What would you suggest to accomplish this task? Thank you.

    First of all, this is not for flame wars. So, please do not bash some blogging platform :P I have a shared hosting account. I want to setup a blog on it. Now, the thing is that as it is shared hosting, I do not have as much bandwidth as some expensive hosting. I have tried using Wordpress with the caching plugins configured. It still does not seem to speed it much. Also if I create a simple PHP website, the speed is fine. Can someone suggest me some lightweight platform?

  • wordpress sites are slow on shared hosting but plain html/css sites are fast

    ive got a shared hosting account, unlimited sites, unlimited gb, unlimited bandwidth ect ect. Of course because its shared and a cheap one at that theres too many sites on each server and it all runs slow due to lack of ram. What ive found is that my plain html/css/js sites run an awful lot faster than my wordpress sites on this hosting and i was trying to work out why. Im not exactly sure how a browser sends a request for a page and the full process of request and delivery, but are my html sites running faster as they are just serving code to the browser, where as the wordpress sites are having to make calculations from the database to make each page before its delivered .. is that correct, or am i completly off course ?

    Hello, Experts. I've successfully installed VMware tools for Ubuntu. Everything seems to work fine, but shared folders were not mounted automatically. How do I get them to work? If I run vmware-hgfsclient in terminal, I get the list of shared folders, but ls -l /mnt/hgfs is empty. Actually there's no hgfs dir in /mnt. I know I should probably use the vmware-hgfsclient tool, but I realy don't know how. P.S. I wouldn't ask if I could understand the vmware-hgfsclient help I've read. Any suggestions?

  • Can't access Ubuntu's shared folders from Windows 7

    In Ubuntu Maverick, I've shared some folders using the Nautilus "Sharing Options" GUI. I can see them from Windows 7, but when I try to access them (from Windows) it asks for a username and password. No matter what I enter, it won't let me in. How do I configure this to share normally? Update: I've found that some of the shared folders let me in, but others don't. Of the ones that do, some of their subfolders do, others don't, etc. How can I investigate what's causing this?

    I have a shared hosting account with a 20GB monthly bandwidth limit. I have exceeded my monthly limit and according to my host my counter is never reset, they say they use a continuous 30 day counter. So for example, I make payment on the 1st of each month, say I use 20GB in the last week of the month. My bandwidth counter is not reset on the 1st of the new month and my bandwidth will only become available in the last week of the new month. Is this common practice by shared hosting companies? Sounds a bit shady to me. Surely my counters should be reset on the 1st of every month when I make payment and 20GB of bandwidth should be available from the day payment is made?

After I update the Mailbox limit to unlimited in the Exchange tab in the user preferences it does not seem to update right away. I remember reading somewhere that it takes several hours for the change to update in the database. I also remember typing in some terminal command that pushed the new updates immediately. What is that command, and why is it so difficult to find the answer to this problem on Google?

    Hi, I'm running eclipse on Ubuntu using a g++ compiler and I'm trying to run a sample program that utilizes xerces. The build produced no errors however, when i attempted to run the program, I would receive this error: "error while loading shared libraries: libxerces-c-3.1.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" libxerces-c-3.1.so is in the directory /opt/lib which I have included as a library in eclipse. The file is there when I checked the folder. When I perform an 'echo $LD_LIBRARY_PATH', /opt/lib is also listed. Any ideas into where the problem lies? Thanks.
