  • Reflect.Emit Dynamic Type Memory Blowup

    - by Firestrand
    Using C# 3.5 I am trying to generate dynamic types at runtime using reflection emit. I used the Dynamic Query Library sample from Microsoft to create a class generator. Everything works, my problem is that 100 generated types inflate the memory usage by approximately 25MB. This is a completely unacceptable memory profile as eventually I want to support having several hundred thousand types generated in memory. Memory profiling shows that the memory is apparently being held by various System.Reflection.Emit types and methods though I can't figure out why. I haven't found others talking about this problem so I am hoping someone in this community either knows what I am doing wrong or if this is expected behavior. Contrived Example below: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Text; using System.Reflection; using System.Reflection.Emit; namespace SmallRelfectExample { class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { int typeCount = 100; int propCount = 100; Random rand = new Random(); Type dynType = null; for (int i = 0; i < typeCount; i++) { List<DynamicProperty> dpl = new List<DynamicProperty>(propCount); for (int j = 0; j < propCount; j++) { dpl.Add(new DynamicProperty("Key" + rand.Next().ToString(), typeof(String))); } SlimClassFactory scf = new SlimClassFactory(); dynType = scf.CreateDynamicClass(dpl.ToArray(), i); //Optionally do something with the type here } Console.WriteLine("SmallRelfectExample: {0} Types generated.", typeCount); Console.ReadLine(); } } public class SlimClassFactory { private readonly ModuleBuilder module; public SlimClassFactory() { AssemblyName name = new AssemblyName("DynamicClasses"); AssemblyBuilder assembly = AppDomain.CurrentDomain.DefineDynamicAssembly(name, AssemblyBuilderAccess.Run); • Nhibernate: one-to-many, based on multiple keys?

    - by e36M3
    Lets assume I have two tables Table tA ID ID2 SomeColumns Table tB ID ID2 SomeOtherColumns I am looking to create a Object let's call it ObjectA (based on tA), that will have a one-to-many relationship to ObjectB (based on tB). In my example however, I need to use the combination of ID and ID2 as the foreign key. If I was writing SQL it would look like this: select tB.* from tA, tB where tA.ID = tB.ID and tA.ID2 = tB.ID2; I know that for each ID/ID2 combination in tA I should have many rows in tB, therefor I know it's a one-to-many combination. Clearly the below set is not sufficient for such mapping as it only takes one key into account. <set name="A2" table="A2" generic="true" inverse="true" > <key column="ID" /> <one-to-many class="A2" /> </set> Thanks!

  • Converting DAO to ADO

    - by webworm
    I am working with an Access 2003 database that has a subroutine using DAO code. This code loops through the table definitions and refreshes the ODBC connection string. I would like to convert this to ADO so I do not have to reference the DAO object library. Here is the code ... Public Sub RefreshODBCLinks(newConnectionString As String) Dim db As DAO.Database Dim tb As DAO.TableDef Set db = CurrentDb For Each tb In db.TableDefs If Left(tb.Connect, 4) = "ODBC" Then tb.Connect = newConnectionString tb.RefreshLink Debug.Print "Refreshed ODBC table " & tb.Name End If Next tb Set db = Nothing MsgBox "New connection string is " & newConnectionString, vbOKOnly, "ODBC Links refreshed" End Sub The part I am unsure of is how to loop through the tables and get/set their connection strings.

  • C# memory / allocation cleanup

    - by Number8
    Some near-code to try to illustrate the question, when are objects marked as available to be garbage-collected -- class ToyBox { public List<Toy> Toys = new List<Toy>(); } class Factory { public ToyBox GetToys() { ToyBox tb = new ToyBox(); tb.Toys.Add(new Toy()); tb.Toys.Add(new Toy()); return tb; } } main() { ToyBox tb = Factory.GetToys(); // After tb is used, does all the memory get cleaned up when tb goes out of scope? } Factory.GetToys() allocates memory. When is that memory cleaned up? I assume that when Factoy.GetToys() returns the ToyBox object, the only reference to the ToyBox object is the one in main(), so when that reference goes out of scope, the Toy objects and the ToyBox object are marked for garbage collection. Is that right? Thanks for any insights...

  • How would I put together a site requiring several TB? [closed]

    - by acidzombie24
    Lets say I have a site with unmetered 100MBPS bandwidth (i assume its bits?) and the ram i require. Most plans i see offer HDD that hold 250gb and 1TB. But what happens if i compile/generate enough data that i require 10tb or 25tb? (I'd likely have two servers but...) I wouldn't be serving all of that data (well not to the public) so CDN wouldn't make sense. What do i do in this scenario? Do I need to get a custom plan from a hosting provider? (if so how do i find them?) Are there services that allow me to mount remote drives (that sounds wrong unless its a CDN so maybe not). Are there host that deals specifically with unmetered bandwidth and provides lots of disk space? Math says ~1TB is the most i'll ever need but if i happen to need more i'd like to know my options.

  • How to Generate a Create Table DDL Script Along With Its Related Tables

    - by Compudicted
    Have you ever wondered when creating table diagrams in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) how slickly you can add related tables to it by just right-clicking on the interesting table name? Have you also ever needed to script those related tables including the master one? And you discovered you have dozens of related tables? Or may be no SSMS at your disposal? That was me one day. Well, creativity to the rescue! I Binged and Googled around until I found more or less what I wanted, but it was all involving T-SQL, yeah, a long and convoluted CROSS APPLYs, then I saw a PowerShell solution that I quickly adopted to my needs (I am not referencing any particular author because it was a mashup): 1: ########################################################################################################### 2: # Created by: Arthur Zubarev on Oct 14, 2012 # 3: # Synopsys: Generate file containing the root table CREATE (DDL) script along with all its related tables # 4: ########################################################################################################### 5:   6: [System.Reflection.Assembly]::LoadWithPartialName('Microsoft.SqlServer.SMO') | out-null 7:   8: $RootTableName = "TableName" # The table name, no schema name needed 9:   10: $srv = new-Object Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo.Server("TargetSQLServerName") 11: $conContext = $srv.ConnectionContext 12: $conContext.LoginSecure = $True 13: # In case the integrated security is not used uncomment below 14: #$conContext.Login = "sa" 15: #$conContext.Password = "sapassword" 16: $db = New-Object Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo.Database 17: $db = $srv.Databases.Item("TargetDatabase") 18:   19: $scrp = New-Object Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo.Scripter($srv) 20: $scrp.Options.NoFileGroup = $True 21: $scrp.Options.AppendToFile = $False 22: $scrp.Options.ClusteredIndexes = $False 23: $scrp.Options.DriAll = $False 24: $scrp.Options.ScriptDrops = $False 25: $scrp.Options.IncludeHeaders = $True 26: $scrp.Options.ToFileOnly = $True 27: $scrp.Options.Indexes = $False 28: $scrp.Options.WithDependencies = $True 29: $scrp.Options.FileName = 'C:\TEMP\TargetFileName.SQL' 30:   31: $smoObjects = New-Object Microsoft.SqlServer.Management.Smo.UrnCollection 32: Foreach ($tb in $db.Tables) 33: { 34: Write-Host -foregroundcolor yellow "Table name being processed" $tb.Name 35: 36: If ($tb.IsSystemObject -eq $FALSE -and $tb.Name -eq $RootTableName) # feel free to customize the selection condition 37: { 38: Write-Host -foregroundcolor magenta $tb.Name "table and its related tables added to be scripted." 39: $smoObjects.Add($tb.Urn) 40: } 41: } 42:   43: # The actual act of scripting 44: $sc = $scrp.Script($smoObjects) 45:   46: Write-host -foregroundcolor green $RootTableName "and its related tables have been scripted to the target file."   • How to partition a 1 TB drive for performance on a windows development machine?

    - by dip
    I saw a similar question for linux, but nothing for windows. I'm getting a new 1TB drive for my dev box @ work. The OS will be Windows 7 Pro with 8GB of RAM and just the single 1TB drive. Backups are not a concern, and I won't be storing large multimedia files. I want the fastest possible performance for general windows usage and for compilation. I will defrag nightly with a smart defragger liker perfectdisk. Should I just go with a single partition, or is there some way I can lay things out for the best performance?

  • MongoDB and GrifFS. What are the best storage options in the range of 1 TB?

    - by Nerian
    We are going to launch a service that will require between 1 and 2 GB for file storage per paid user. I am going to use GridFS for storing files. I am pondering the different options for storing the database. But since I am unexperienced at deployment and it is my first time with Mongodb I need your experience. Criteria: I want to spend my time developing my core business, that is, my own application. I am a Ruby on Rails developer. I do not like to mess with server configuration. Hence, I would like a fully managed hosting solution. But I would like to know about any other option, if you think it is worth it. It should be able to scale. Cloud style. Pay as you go. The lower the price, the better. So far I known of these services: https://mongohq.com/pricing https://mongomachine.com/pricing https://mongolab.com/about/pricing/ http://cloudcontrol.com/add-ons/mongodb/ And they seem to be OK for common needs, that is no file storage. But I am going to use GridFS, so the size matters. These services seems to scale, in price, quite poorly. MongoHQ: The larger plan max storage is 20 GB. Seems like a very little storage, for GridFS. MongoMachine: Flat price, 2.5$ per GB. I didn't found the limit. Seems like a good price, comparing the others. MongoLab: 3.984 GB max, which I don't think I will hit, so perfect. 8$ per GB, quite costly. CloudControl: The larger plan is 20 Gb. The custom service starts at 250€ plus some unspecified charge per GB. What is your experience with these services? Any downtimes? Other possibilities?

  • EFI vs MBR - Installing Windows Server 2008 R2 or 2012 on 8TB

    - by Riaan de Lange
    I'm having some difficulty installing Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2012 on an Intel Server platform. The server specs is as follows: Intel Grizzly Pass Server System - R2308GZ4GC 2x Intel Xeon 2620 - 2.0 GHZ - BX80621E52620 132 GB of Memory REG-DIMM - TS1GKR72V6H 4x Seagate Constellation ES 2TB 3.5" 7200rpm 6GB/S - ST32000645NS Intel Big Laurel 4CH 6G SAS RAID 512MB - RS2BL040 On the Intel RAID Controller Setup, I have setup the HDD to be in RAID-0 - for testing purposes. (Ultimately configured in RAID-5) So, the total size of HDD space I can use is 7.6 TB something... When I install the Server OS's, they don't seem to go beyond 2 TB (1.76 TB) I have read up on EFI and UEFI boot, and this seems to work in 2012, but I could not install any drivers for the motherboard... So, I also tried EFI for 2008R2, and this worked while installing the OS, it did not however work with the Windows Boot Manager option in the BIOS. It kept on freezing once it tries to load the partition. My idea was to allocate the complete 8 TB for the OS, and load a few VM's on there. I have now started with a new approach where I'll have a 256 GB OS Partition, and a secondary 7.5 TB Data partition. Oh, and I also did a diskpart - convert disk to gpt whilst installing 2008R2. The whole disk was accessible, 7.6TB Can anyone please clarify that EFI/UEFI is meant for larger boot volumes? Bigger than 2TB. If I were to have an ideal situation where my OS is run on a SSD, 256GB, and I can attach the 8 TB drives as normal disk to the OS? I'm I correct in saying that if I wanted to boot from a 8TB partition, I would need to force the BIOS to boot from EFI? The limit for MBR is 2 TB as far as I know now... *FYI: The motherboard is EFI-ready

  • Expand a volume residing on one X-RAID disk installed on a Netgear ReadyNas Duo v2

    - by Sid
    I've got a Netgear ReadyNas Duo v2 (2 disk slots). System is configured with X-RAID which does not provide flexibility but automatically expands based on a sort of RAID-5 logic. I had 2 500 GB hard disk installed, redundant, so I had 500 GB of volume size. I wanted to upgrade the whole system to 3 GB * 2 hard disk maintaining both the data already on the NAS and the data on one of the two 3 TB hard disks. So I did this: Unplugged one disk from the ReadyNas. Now the readynas has 1*500 GB non redundant. Plugged one empty 3 TB hard disk. Now the readynas has 1*500 GB + 1*3 TB, redundant. I waited for the resync. I then unplugged the 500 GB hard disk, so that I have only the 3 TB hard disk with the previous data. Now what I want is to copy the data on my other 3 TB hard disk in the NAS, so that I can plug this other disk in the NAS and use it for redundancy. The problem is that: the NAS has the (single) 3 TB hard disk in X-RAID, but the volume does not expand to 3 TB, it remains fixed to 500 GB. Is there a way to tell the ReadyNas to force expanding the volume to the whole disk without plugging in another hard disk of the same size?

It simulates a complete environment where a population of terminal operators executes transactions against a database. The benchmark is centered around the principal activities (transactions) of an order-entry environment. These transactions include entering and delivering orders, recording payments, checking the status of orders, and monitoring the level of stock at the warehouses. Key Points and Best Practices Oracle Database 11g Release 2 Enterprise Edition with Partitioning scales easily to this high level of performance. COMSTAR (Common Multiprotocol SCSI Target) is the software framework that enables an Oracle Solaris host to serve as a SCSI Target platform. COMSTAR uses a modular approach to break the huge task of handling all the different pieces in a SCSI target subsystem into independent functional modules which are glued together by the SCSI Target Mode Framework (STMF). The modules implementing functionality at SCSI level (disk, tape, medium changer etc.) are not required to know about the underlying transport. And the modules implementing the transport protocol (FC, iSCSI, etc.) are not aware of the SCSI-level functionality of the packets they are transporting. The framework hides the details of allocation providing execution context and cleanup of SCSI commands and associated resources and simplifies the task of writing the SCSI or transport modules. Oracle iPlanet Web Server middleware is used for the client tier of the benchmark. Each web server instance supports more than a quarter-million users while satisfying the response time requirement from the TPC-C benchmark. • My uncle is the family historian. We need to host about 5-15 TB of images and video. Any inexpensive

    - by Citizen
    Basically we have hq scans of thousands of old family photos. Plus tons of family video. We want to host them where we can still have total control over the content and restrict access. I'm a php programmer, so the security is not an issue. What is an issue is finding a host to store 10 TB of data and not be paying a ton of money. We really are not planning on a lot of traffic. Maybe 1-10 visitors a day; family only. Kind of like an online library.

  • FAQ: GridView Calculation with JavaScript - Displaying Quantity Total

    - by Vincent Maverick Durano
    Previously we've talked about how calculate the sub-totals and grand total in GridView here, how to format the numbers into a currency format and how to validate the quantity to just accept whole numbers using JavaScript here. One of the users in the forum (http://forums.asp.net) is asking if how to modify the script to display the quantity total in the footer. In this post I'm going to show you how to it. Basically we just need to modify the javascript CalculateTotals function and add the codes there for calculating the quantity total and display it in the footer. Here are the code blocks below:   <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" > <head runat="server"> <title></title> <script type="text/javascript"> function CalculateTotals() { var gv = document.getElementById("<%= GridView1.ClientID %>"); var tb = gv.getElementsByTagName("input"); var lb = gv.getElementsByTagName("span"); var sub = 0; var total = 0; var indexQ = 1; var indexP = 0; var price = 0; var qty = 0; var totalQty = 0; for (var i = 0; i < tb.length; i++) { if (tb[i].type == "text") { ValidateNumber(tb[i]); price = lb[indexP].innerHTML.replace("$", "").replace(",", ""); sub = parseFloat(price) * parseFloat(tb[i].value); if (isNaN(sub)) { lb[i + indexQ].innerHTML = "0.00"; sub = 0; } else { lb[i + indexQ].innerHTML = FormatToMoney(sub, "$", ",", "."); ; } indexQ++; indexP = indexP + 2; if (isNaN(tb[i].value) || tb[i].value == "") { qty = 0; } else { qty = tb[i].value; } totalQty += parseInt(qty); total += parseFloat(sub); } } lb[lb.length - 2].innerHTML = totalQty; lb[lb.length - 1].innerHTML = FormatToMoney(total, "$", ",", "."); } function ValidateNumber(o) { if (o.value.length > 0) { o.value = o.value.replace(/[^\d]+/g, ''); //Allow only whole numbers } } function isThousands(position) { if (Math.floor(position / 3) * 3 == position) return true; return false; }; function FormatToMoney(theNumber, theCurrency, theThousands, theDecimal) { var theDecimalDigits = Math.round((theNumber * 100) - (Math.floor(theNumber) * 100)); theDecimalDigits = "" + (theDecimalDigits + "0").substring(0, 2); theNumber = "" + Math.floor(theNumber); var theOutput = theCurrency; for (x = 0; x < theNumber.length; x++) { theOutput += theNumber.substring(x, x + 1); if (isThousands(theNumber.length - x - 1) && (theNumber.length - x - 1 != 0)) { theOutput += theThousands; }; }; theOutput += theDecimal + theDecimalDigits; return theOutput; } </script> </head> <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <asp:gridview ID="GridView1" runat="server" ShowFooter="true" AutoGenerateColumns="false"> <Columns> <asp:BoundField DataField="RowNumber" HeaderText="Row Number" /> <asp:BoundField DataField="Description" HeaderText="Item Description" /> <asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Item Price"> <ItemTemplate> <asp:Label ID="LBLPrice" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("Price","{0:C}") %>'></asp:Label> </ItemTemplate> <FooterTemplate> <b>Total Qty:</b> </FooterTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> <asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Quantity"> <ItemTemplate> <asp:TextBox ID="TXTQty" runat="server" onkeyup="CalculateTotals();"></asp:TextBox> </ItemTemplate> <FooterTemplate> <asp:Label ID="LBLQtyTotal" runat="server" Font-Bold="true" ForeColor="Blue" Text="0" ></asp:Label>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <b>Total Amount:</b> </FooterTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> <asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Sub-Total"> <ItemTemplate> <asp:Label ID="LBLSubTotal" runat="server" ForeColor="Green" Text="0.00"></asp:Label> </ItemTemplate> <FooterTemplate> <asp:Label ID="LBLTotal" runat="server" ForeColor="Green" Font-Bold="true" Text="0.00"></asp:Label> </FooterTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> </Columns> </asp:gridview> </form> </body> </html>   Here's the output below when you run it on the page: I hope someone find this post useful!   • FAQ: GridView Calculation with JavaScript - Editable Price Field

    - by Vincent Maverick Durano
    Recently I wrote a series of blog posts that demonstrates how to do calculation in GridView using JavaScripts. You can check the series of posts below: FAQ: GridView Calculation with JavaScript FAQ: GridView Calculation with JavaScript - Formatting and Validation FAQ: GridView Calculation with JavaScript - Displaying Quantity Total Recently a user in the forums is asking how to calculate the total quantity, sub-totals and total amout in GridView  when a user enters the price and quantity in the TextBox field. Obviously the series of post  that I wrote will not work in this case because the price field in those examples are Label (read-only) and not TextBox fields. In this post I'm going to demonstrate how to accomplish this using the same method used in my previous examples. Basically I'm just going to modify the GridView declaration and replace the Label price field with a TextBox so that users can type on it. And finally modify the CalculateTotals() javascript function. Here are the code blocks below: <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" > <head runat="server"> <title></title> <script type="text/javascript"> function CalculateTotals() { var gv = document.getElementById("<%= GridView1.ClientID %>"); var tb = gv.getElementsByTagName("input"); var lb = gv.getElementsByTagName("span"); var sub = 0; var total = 0; var indexQ = 1; var indexP = 0; var price = 0; var qty = 0; var totalQty = 0; var tbCount = tb.length / 2; for (var i = 0; i < tbCount; i++) { if (tb[i].type == "text") { ValidateNumber(tb[i + indexQ]); sub = parseFloat(tb[i + indexP].value) * parseFloat(tb[i + indexQ].value); if (isNaN(sub)) { lb[i].innerHTML = "0.00"; sub = 0; } else { lb[i].innerHTML = FormatToMoney(sub, "$", ",", "."); ; } if (isNaN(tb[i + indexQ].value) || tb[i + indexQ].value == "") { qty = 0; } else { qty = tb[i + indexQ].value; } totalQty += parseInt(qty); total += parseFloat(sub); indexQ++; indexP++; } } lb[lb.length - 2].innerHTML = totalQty; lb[lb.length -1].innerHTML = FormatToMoney(total, "$", ",", "."); } function ValidateNumber(o) { if (o.value.length > 0) { o.value = o.value.replace(/[^\d]+/g, ''); //Allow only whole numbers } } function isThousands(position) { if (Math.floor(position / 3) * 3 == position) return true; return false; }; function FormatToMoney(theNumber, theCurrency, theThousands, theDecimal) { var theDecimalDigits = Math.round((theNumber * 100) - (Math.floor(theNumber) * 100)); theDecimalDigits = "" + (theDecimalDigits + "0").substring(0, 2); theNumber = "" + Math.floor(theNumber); var theOutput = theCurrency; for (x = 0; x < theNumber.length; x++) { theOutput += theNumber.substring(x, x + 1); if (isThousands(theNumber.length - x - 1) && (theNumber.length - x - 1 != 0)) { theOutput += theThousands; }; }; theOutput += theDecimal + theDecimalDigits; return theOutput; } </script> </head> <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <asp:gridview ID="GridView1" runat="server" ShowFooter="true" AutoGenerateColumns="false"> <Columns> <asp:BoundField DataField="RowNumber" HeaderText="Row Number" /> <asp:BoundField DataField="Description" HeaderText="Item Description" /> <asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Item Price"> <ItemTemplate> <asp:TextBox ID="TXTPrice" runat="server" onkeyup="CalculateTotals();"></asp:TextBox> </ItemTemplate> <FooterTemplate> <b>Total Qty:</b> </FooterTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> <asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Quantity"> <ItemTemplate> <asp:TextBox ID="TXTQty" runat="server" onkeyup="CalculateTotals();"></asp:TextBox> </ItemTemplate> <FooterTemplate> <asp:Label ID="LBLQtyTotal" runat="server" Font-Bold="true" ForeColor="Blue" Text="0" ></asp:Label>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <b>Total Amount:</b> </FooterTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> <asp:TemplateField HeaderText="Sub-Total"> <ItemTemplate> <asp:Label ID="LBLSubTotal" runat="server" ForeColor="Green" Text="0.00"></asp:Label> </ItemTemplate> <FooterTemplate> <asp:Label ID="LBLTotal" runat="server" ForeColor="Green" Font-Bold="true" Text="0.00"></asp:Label> </FooterTemplate> </asp:TemplateField> </Columns> </asp:gridview> </form> </body> </html>   That's it!   • How to Mirror or Clone a Spanned Volume in Windows 2008

    - by Matt
    I have a spanned volume (3x6+ TB disks spanned to one 20+ TB volume) that I need to mirror or clone to a new 20+ TB (unspanned) volume. Once mirrored or cloned I'm going to destroy the original volume and reuse the storage elsewhere. Windows 2008 will not allow me to mirror it because the original is a spanned volume. I cannot simply copy the data, because there are sparse files on the volume. So the OS thinks there is 150+ TB used on the disk when there really is only around 18TB used physically. When I try to use the copy command it won't run because it thinks the destination volume needs to be 150+ TB to hold it all. A conundrum, but I figure someone here has the answer. Thanks, Matt

  • Resize a RAID 1 volume on OSX Snow Leopard - how? (Note: software raid)

    - by Emmel
    I've scoured the Internet in search of an answer to this question, and as usual with OSX-related topics, I often don't find any deep-dive technical explanations sufficient enough to feel confident doing dangerous things. Here is my question: I have a Mac Pro, running OSX 10.6.2. I have, as my main root/boot disk, a RAID 1 volume called "Mirror1". Mirror1 is comprised of two 1 TB disks. Mirror1, however, is fixed at 640 GB. That's because, I originally took a 640GB disk, bought a terabyte disk, mirrored it (using diskutil appleraid enable...), when it synced I removed the 640GB and replaced it with a second 1 TB disk, and synced again. Voila! A single 640 GB replaced by two 1 TB disks in a mirror.. Actually, no. There's still something missing from the equation: Mirror1 needs to be expanded from 640GB to 1 TB to match the partition sizes on each of those disks. How do I do this? Perhaps the diskutil output will help: -> diskutil list /dev/disk0 #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER 0: GUID_partition_scheme *1.0 TB disk0 1: EFI 209.7 MB disk0s1 2: Apple_RAID 999.9 GB disk0s2 3: Apple_Boot Boot OSX 134.2 MB disk0s3 /dev/disk1 #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER 0: GUID_partition_scheme *1.0 TB disk1 1: EFI 209.7 MB disk1s1 2: Apple_RAID 999.9 GB disk1s2 3: Apple_Boot Boot OSX 134.2 MB disk1s3 /dev/disk2 #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER 0: GUID_partition_scheme *640.1 GB disk2 1: EFI 209.7 MB disk2s1 2: Apple_HFS Mac Disk 2 536.7 GB disk2s2 3: Microsoft Basic Data BOOTCAMP 103.1 GB disk2s3 /dev/disk3 #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER 0: Apple_HFS Mirror1 *639.8 GB disk3 -> diskutil appleraid list AppleRAID sets (1 found) =============================================================================== Name: Macintosh HD Unique ID: 1953F864-B474-4EB6-8E69-41834EBD0247 Type: Mirror Status: Online Size: 639.8 GB (639791038464 Bytes) Rebuild: manual Device Node: disk3 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- # Device Node UUID Status ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 0 disk1s2 25109BAE-5697-40EA-B612-0217851444F7 Online 1 disk0s2 11B83AB0-8148-4DB6-8761-DEF08C855F8D Online =============================================================================== Thanks in advance.

  • Creating a variable list Pashua, OS X & Bash.

    - by S1syphus
    First of all, for those that don't know pashua is a tool for creating native Aqua dialog windows. An example of what a window config looks like is # pashua_run() # Define what the dialog should be like # Take a look at Pashua's Readme file for more info on the syntax conf=" # Set transparency: 0 is transparent, 1 is opaque *.transparency=0.95 # Set window title *.title = Introducing Pashua # Introductory text tb.type = text tb.default = "HELLO WORLD" tb.height = 276 tb.width = 310 tb.x = 340 tb.y = 44 if [ -e "$icon" ] then # Display Pashua's icon conf="$conf img.type = image img.x = 530 img.y = 255 img.path = $icon" fi if [ -e "$bgimg" ] then # Display background image conf="$conf bg.type = image bg.x = 30 bg.y = 2 bg.path = $bgimg" fi pashua_run "$conf" echo " tb = $tb" The problem is, Pashua can't really get output from stdout, but it can get arguments. Following on from what Dennis Williamson posted here. What ideally it should do is generate an output file based on information from a text file, To executed in pashua_run ore add the pashua_run around the window argument: count=1 while read -r i do echo "AB${count}.type = openbrowser" echo "AB${count}.label = Choose a master playlist file" echo "AB${count}.width=310" echo "AB${count}.tooltip = Blabla filesystem browser" echo "some text with a line from the file: $i" (( count++ )) done < TEST.txt >> long.txt SO the output is AB1.type = openbrowser AB1.label = Choose a master playlist file AB1.width=310 AB1.tooltip = Blabla filesystem browser some text with a line from the file: foo AB2.type = openbrowser AB2.label = Choose a master playlist file AB2.width=310 AB2.tooltip = Blabla filesystem browser some text with a line from the file: bar AB3.type = openbrowser AB3.label = Choose a master playlist file AB3.width=310 AB3.tooltip = Blabla filesystem browser some text with a line from the file: dev AB4.type = openbrowser AB4.label = Choose a master playlist file AB4.width=310 AB4.tooltip = Blabla filesystem random So if there is a clever way to get the output of that and place it into pashua run would be cool, on the fly: I.E load te contents of TEST.txt and generate the place it into pashua_run, I've tried using cat and opening the file... but because it's in Pashua_run it doesn't work, is there a smart way to break out then back in? Or the second way which I was thinking, was create get the output then append it into the middle text file containing the pashua runtime, then execute it, maybe slightly hacky, but I would imagine it will do the job. Any ideas? ++ I know I probably could make my life a lot easier, by doing this in actionscript and cocoa, although at present don't have time for such a learning curve, although I do plan to get round to it.

  • Javascript tabs: call event onclick

    - by Joris
    I got some code I need to change. it is build by others, and not very neat... There is a javascript tabcontrol, containing 4 tabs, which contains gridviews. All the 4 gridviews are build during the load of the page, but I want them to load, when you activate the tabs (as it is possible to watch the side, while you don't need the specific gridviews to see) So, my question is: how to call an event (that loads the gridview) from an javascript tab? how the tabs are generated: (generated code, I know, horrible) var obj = 0; var oid = 0; var otb = 0; var myTabs = new Array(); var myTabitems = new Array(); var myTabitem = new Array(); var myTabContent = new Array(); var myLists = new Array(); function showTabContent(tab) { tb = tab.obj; id = tab.nr; if (myTabs[tb].oid != -1) { myTabs[tb].myTabContent[myTabs[tb].oid].style.display = 'none'; myTabs[tb].myTabitem[myTabs[tb].oid].className -= " active"; } myTabs[tb].myTabContent[id].style.display = 'block'; myTabs[tb].myTabitem[id].className += " active"; myTabs[tb].oid = id; } function boTabs() { var myBlocks = new Array(); myBlocks = document.getElementsByTagName("div"); var stopit = myBlocks.length; for (var g = 0; g < stopit; g++) { if (myBlocks[g].className == "tabs") { myTabs.push(myBlocks[g]); } } var stopit2 = myTabs.length; for (var i = 0; i < stopit2; i++) { myTabs[i].myLists = myTabs[i].getElementsByTagName("ul"); if (myTabs[i].myLists[0].className == "tabs") { myTabs[i].myTabitems = myTabs[i].myLists[0].getElementsByTagName("li"); } var stopit3 = myTabs[i].myTabitems.length; myTabs[i].obj = i; myTabs[i].myTabitem = new Array(); myTabs[i].myTabContent = new Array(); for (var j = 0; j < stopit3; j++) { myTabs[i].myTabitem.push(myTabs[i].myTabitems[j]); myTabs[i].myTabitem[j].nr = j; myTabs[i].myTabitem[j].obj = i; myTabs[i].myTabitem[j].onclick = function() { showTabContent(this); }; } var myTabDivs = myTabs[i].getElementsByTagName("div"); for (var j = 0; j < myTabDivs.length; j++) { if (myTabDivs[j].className == "tabcontent") { myTabs[i].myTabContent.push(myTabDivs[j]); } } myTabs[i].myTabitem[0].className += " active"; myTabs[i].myTabContent[0].style.display = 'block'; myTabs[i].oid = 0; myTabDivs = null; } myBlocks = null; } onload = boTabs;

  • What is wrong with my SQL syntax for an UPDATE with a JOIN?

    - by Phil H
    I have two tables, related by a common key. So TableA has key AID and value Name and TableB has keys AID, BID and values Name, Value: AID Name 74 Alpha AID BID Name Value 74 4 Beta Brilliance I would like to update the TableB Value here from Brilliance to Barmy, using just the Name fields. I thought I could do it via an UPDATE containing a JOIN, but Access (I know...) is complaining with 'Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression ' and then everything from 'Barmy' here: UPDATE tB SET tB.BValue='Barmy' FROM TableB tB INNER JOIN TableA tA ON tB.AID=tA.AID WHERE tB.Name='Beta' AND tA.Name='Alpha'; What is my heinous crime? Or is it just Access not conforming?
