  • jQuery and ASP.NET drop down problem

    I have a drop down in an ASP.NET page. Whenever the value of the drop down changes an ASP.NET AJAX request is made to the server. I also attached a jQuery "change" event handler to that list to execute some code when the value is changed. So, probably two different event handlers are being attached to the same drop down, and it's causing some problems, i.e., sometimes wrong drop down values are sent to the server. I don't know why is this happening but I think attaching two different event handlers to a same drop down may be the reason. Can anyone tell me what is the problem here? If what I guessed is true, then is there any other way to execute some custom javascript code before asp.net AJAX request is sent ?

By selecting the Country from the Filled Country Combo Box, the hidden Combo Box that is the Cities Combo Box visible to true and filled with those cities that the user selected the country from the country combo box...   • Building Paypal based membership website - total noob - would appreciate help

    this is a follow up on my question on paypal integration. I'm working ona membership site for racing fans. My membership site has 3 membership levels - free, gold and premium. When a user signs up he/she can gets a free membership on the spot but has the option to upgrade to a gold membership for 4 Dollars a month or a premium membership for 10 Dollars a month. I've gone through the paypal integration guide a few times though and have a vague understanding of how to get this to work. I think the recurring payments option would be fine enough - however I don't know how do I implement this in my system. Like when a user decides to go for a paid account i.e. Gold or premium from basic - what should I do on both my code side and on the paypal account side - I'd really appreciate if anyone would outline what I'd have to do here. Plus when a user decides to upgrade from lets say a Gold to a premium account - there is the issue of computing how much should be charged to upgrade his/her account eg: a user has been billed for 4 dollars and the next day opts to go for a premium account so assuming that the surplus for the rest of the month is 5 dollars and further from that all payments would be recurring 10 dollars monthly - how do I implement this? And in case a user decides to downgrade from a premium account of 10 dollars a month to a gold account of 4 dollars a month - how do I handle the surplus which would have to be refunded for that month alone and changing the membership? And like wise if someone wishes to cancel membership and go to having a free account - how do I refund whatever is owed and cancel the subscription. I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm asking to be spoon fed :( I'm quite new to this and this is for a client and I would really appreciate all the help here and really have to get this working right.   • Detect Rotation of a scanned image in C#

    We want a c# solution to correct the scanned image because it is rotated. To solve this problem we must detect the rotation angle first and then rotate the image. This was our first thought for our problem. But then we thought image warping would be more accurate as I think it would make the scanned image like our template. Then we can process it as we know all the coordinates of our template... I searched for a free SDK or a free solution in c#. Helping me in this will be great as it is the last task in our work.     As any programmer in the world at least once in his/her life, I am trying to create my "revolutionary", the new and only one operating system. :D Well, I am using a virtual emulator (Oracle VM Virtual Box), for which I create a new unknwon operating system, with a vmdk disk. I like vmdk because they are just plain files, so I can paste my boot-loader over the first 512 bytes of the virtual hard disk. Now, I am trying to read the next sector of this virtual disk, on which I would paste a simple kernel that would display a message. I have two questions: Am I reading the second segment (the first -512 bytes- is occupied by the bootloader) correctly?   • Automatic logout in python web app

    I have a web application in python wherein the user submits their email and password. These values are compared to values stored in a mysql database. If successful, the script generates a session id, stores it next to the email in the database and sets a cookie with the session id, with allows the user to interact with other parts of the sight. When the user clicks logout, the script erases the session id from the database and deletes the cookie. The cookie expires after 5 hours. My concern is that if the user doesnt log out, and the cookie expires, the script will force him to login, but if he has copied the session id from before, it can still be validated. How do i automatically delete the session id from the mysql database after 5 hours?

  • Can't get message body of certain emails from inbox using the Zend framework?

    Hi guys I'm trying to read through an email inbox for my application - I'm using the zend framework here. The problem is that I'm unable to retrieve the message body for certain emails.     Hi, I have a table in sql where the date format is stored in Hijri. Now I am working on a vb.net application where I have to let the user update that dateField. So is it possible that if I place a datepicker(which is in Gregorian) and user selects the date and its converts into Hijri date before updating. I mean when the user selects the date and clicks the save button the date should be updated in hijri format in the sql . For now , the user is entering the date manually on a tms AdvEdit.
