Separating Javascript functions

I am wondering how javascripts get included in a jsp - can we put any code which the jsp will recognize and not just javascript code only in the .js file? I have some common javascript code which needs to get executed on different pages, so I decided to place it in its own separate .js file and include it on all jsps which call that function. The js function now refers to a key from a properties file and some other non-javascript code: function openPrivacyStmntWindow(){ var url = <h:outputText escape="false" value="\"#{urls.url_privacyStatement}\";" /> newwindow=window.open(url,'Terms','height=600,width=800,left=300,top=100,scrollbars=1'); newwindow.focus(); return false; } This function worked just fine when it was included in the jsp itself. Now that I have separated it into its own file it doesnt, do I need to include the properties bundle in this file. The value="\"#{urls.url_privacyStatement}\";" is referring to a bundle called "urls" which has a key called "url_privacyStatement" Also in Line 1 var url = <h:outputText escape="false" value="\"#{urls.url_privacyStatement}\";" /> the <h:outputText escape="false" ... /> will it cause any issues? Checking when two headers are included at the same time.

Hi, I need to do an assertion based on two related macro preprocessor #define's declared in different header files... The codebase is huge and it would be nice if I could find a place to put the assertion where the two headers are already included, to avoid polluting namespaces unnecessarily. Checking just that a file includes both explicitly might not suffice, as one (or both) of them might be included in an upper level of a nesting include's hierarchy. I know it wouldn't be too hard to write an script to check that, but if there's already a tool that does the job, the better. Example: file foo.h #define FOO 0xf file bar.h #define BAR 0x1e I need to put somewhere (it doesn't matter a lot where) something like this: #if (2*FOO) != BAR #error "foo is not twice bar" #endif Yes, I know the example is silly, as they could be replaced so one is derived from the other, but let's say that the includes can be generated from different places not under my control and I just need to check that they match at compile time... And I don't want to just add one include after the other, as it might conflict with previous code that I haven't written, so that's why I would like to find a file where both are already present. In brief: how can I find a file that includes (direct or indirectly) two other files? Thanks!

Pass a variable from the source file to an included file in PHP

For my website I want to store the general format of the site in a single PHP file in a single location, and each of the different pages content in the local location of the page. I then want to pass the title and content address to the included file via a variable. However I can't get the included format file to read the variables storing the title and content data. AKA, the called file for the individual page would be: <?php $title = 'Some Title'; $source_file = 'content.php'; readfile('http:...../format.php'); ?> The format file would be: <html> ... <title> <?php echo $title; ?> </title> ... <?php include($source_file); ?> ... I recall reading somewhere I need to include something to get the variables at the start of the format file, however I can't remember what it is or find where I found that information.

Why would autoconf/automake project link against installed library instead of local development libr

I'm creating a library libgdata that has some tests and non-installed programs. I am running into the problem that once I've installed the library once, the programs seem to be linking to the installed version and not the local version in ../src/libgdata.la any longer. What could cause this? Am I doing something horribly wrong? Here is what my test/Makefile.am looks like: INCLUDES = -I$(top_srcdir)/src/ -I$(top_srcdir)/test/ # libapiutil contains all of our dependencies! AM_CXXFLAGS = $(APIUTIL_CFLAGS) AM_LDFLAGS = $(APIUTIL_LIBS) LDADD = $(top_builddir)/src/libgdata.la noinst_PROGRAMS = gdatacalendar gdatayoutube gdatacalendar_SOURCES = gdatacalendar.cc gdatayoutube_SOURCES = gdatayoutube.cc TESTS = check_bare check_PROGRAMS = $(TESTS) check_bare_SOURCES = check_bare.cc (libapiutil is another library that has some helper stuff for dealing with libcurl and libxml++) So, for instance, if I run the tests without having installed anything, everything works fine. I can make changes locally and they are picked up by these programs right away. If I install the package, these programs will compile (it seems like it does actually look locally for the headers), but once I run the program it complains about missing symbols. As far as I can tell, it is linking against the newly built library (../src/libgdata.la) based on the make output, so I'm not sure why this would be happening. If i remove the installed files, the local changes to src/* are picked up just fine. UPDATE 2 I did two tests. First, I did this after blowing away my dev-install directory (--prefix) and in that case, it creates test/.libs/lt-gdatacalendar. Once I have installed the library, though, it creates test/.libs/gdatacalendar instead. The output of ldd is the same for both with one exception: # before install # ldd test/.libs/lt-gdatacalendar libgdata.so.0 => /home/altern8/workspaces/4355/libgdata/src/.libs/libgdata.so.0 (0xb7c32000) # after install # ldd test/.libs/gdatacalendar libgdata.so.0 => /home/altern8/workspaces/4355/dev-install/lib/libgdata.so.0 (0xb7c87000) What would cause this to create lt-gdatacalendar in one case but gdatacalendar in another? ANT: ways to include libraries and license issues

I have been trying to use Ant to compile and ready a project for distribution. I have encountered several problems along the way that I have been finally able to solve but the solution leaves me very unsatisfied. First, let me explain the set-up of the project and its dependencies. I have a project, lets call it Primary which depends on a couple of libraries such as the fantastic Guava. It also depends on another project of mine, lets call it Secondary. The Secondary project also features some dependencies, for example, JDOM2. I have referenced the Jar I build with Ant in Primary. Furthermore, I believe that including these libraries as class files is bad practice as it could give rise to licensing issues while not packaging them and merely including them in a directory along the build Jar would most probably not (And if it would you could choose not to distribute them yourself). I think my inability to correctly assemble the class path, I always received NoClassDefFoundError for classes or libraries in the Primary project when launching Second's Jar, is that I am not very experienced with Ant. Would I require to specify a class path for both projects? Specifying the class path as . should have allowed me to simply add all dependencies to the same folder as Secondary's Jar, should it not?

Richfaces a4j:include loading two pages!?

I have this seemingly-innocent code on my main JSF page: <a4j:outputPanel id="sidebarContainer"> <a4j:include viewId="#{UserSession.currentSidebar}"/> </a4j:outputPanel> Here is how the sidebar changes: A jsFunction calls a backing-bean method which sets the page (like "sidebar2.jsp") in UserSession The jsFunction has "rerender='sidebarContainer'", so that the correct page is loaded in the sidebar When the web application is initially started in JBoss 5, when I call the jsFunction to change pages, sidebar2 appears, but the original sidebar (sidebar1.jsp) appears below it. The sidebar switching works just fine after this initial wierdness. Any thoughts??

How to include text files with Executable Jar

Hi guys rookie Java question. I have a Java project and I want to include a text file with the executable jar. Right now the text file is in the default package. InputFlatFile currentFile = new InputFlatFile("src/theFile.txt"); I grab the file with that line as you can see using src. However this doesn't work with the executable jar. Can someone please let me know how to keep this file with the executable jar so someone using the program can just click a single icon and run the program. Thanks!

I am trying to install CruiseControl.rb on an Amazon EC2 instance. I get this error in the mongrel log: /data/cruisecontrol/releases/20100313003145/vendor/rails/activesupport/lib/active_support/dependencies.rb:105:in `const_missing': uninitialized constant ProjectsMigration::FileUtils (NameError) This error is raised in a file called projects_migration.rb: http://gist.github.com/331025. Check out line 3, which I have commented out. If you remove the comment-out, you will get this error as well. The weird part: from ruby script/console I can include FileUtils just fine!

Hi, I have tree tables books bookmarks users where there is a n to m relation from books to users trough bookmarks. Im looking for a query, where I get all the books of a certain user including the bookmarks. If no bookmarks are there, there should be a null included... my sql statement looks like: SELECT * FROM `books` LEFT OUTER JOIN `bookmarks ` ON bookmarks.book_id = books.id AND bookmarks.user_id = ? In rails I only know the :include statement, but how can I add the second bookmarks.user_id = ? statement in the ON section of this query? if I put it in the :conditions part, no null results would get returned! How to include javascript/css once with Struts 1.x

If this is the wrong approach, please suggest something better, but my current efforts have been trying to find something that exists for a single page load, such that I can cache which javascript/css files have been included so as to only include them once. I thought in a TagSupport subclass I could use (HttpServletRequest)pageContext.getRequest().getParameterMap().put(srcKey,true) but the request is per jsp, not per page load so it was a failure. I could set up a filter in web.xml, but it seems I would have to search the response for duplicates and rewrite the response...pain. I could try to store things in the session, but there are headaches with clearing values... Any help would be appreciated.

Where do you include FirePHP in Wordpress?

I'm using require_once() in header.php to include the FirePHP library. In the page.php I'm doing the usual... $firephp = FirePHP::getInstance(true); $firephp->log($categories); Getting these errors.. 'Headers already sent....' and Cannot send log data to FirePHP. You must have Output Buffering enabled via ob_start() or output_buffering ini directive... I figured the using require_once in the template's header.php (above all HTML output) would be safe (pre header output). Guess this is not the case. Anyone have experience with this? (P.S. I tried the WP FirePHP plugin, wasn't working right)

How to include associative table information and still retain strong typing

I am using LINQ to SQL to create strongly typed objects in my project. Let's say I have an object that is represented by a database table. This object has a "Current State" that is kept in an associative table. I would like to make a single db call where I pull back the two tables joined but am unsure how I should be populating that information into some sort of object to preserve strong typing within my model so that the view using the information can just consume the information from the objects. I looked into creating a view model for this but it doesn't seem to quite fit. Am I thinking about this in the wrong way? What information can I include to help clarify my problem? Other details that may or may not be important: It's an MVC project....

HTML 5 Canvas - Dynamically include multiple images in canvas

I need to include multiple images in a canvas. I want to load them dynamically via a for-loop. I tried a lot but in the best case only the last image is displayed. I check this tread but I still get only the last image. include external jar when running java -jar

From my readings, when you execute a command as follows: java -jar foo.jar Then the main classpath is ignored and the classpath is taken from the manifest file. Further, the classpath declared on the command line is also ignored. So in: java -classpath /usr/local/jar/foobar.jar -jar foo.jar /usr/local/jar/foobar.jar is ignored. Lastly, I have read that the manifest file can only only contain relative paths, within the jar file. So, how do you include absolute paths to external jars, that are present on the system, but not in the jar file being executed?

How do I include external Libraries in CodeIgniter?

I'm new to codeigniter, and I'm trying to integrate amazon's FPS into my page. There are a bunch of libraries and models that go with Amazon FPS, which I would need included to make the appropriate calls. How do I include them in CodeIgniter? I tried placing the entire Amazon folder inside the system/libraries directory, and then tried including libraries with $this-load-library( 'Amazon/FPS/Client' ); However, I run into problems with the relative path there, because Client.php contains the statement require_once ('Amazon/FPS/Interface.php'); ... which is in the same folder. There has to be a better way to do all this - can anyone please help? Thanks!!

I have setup the combination Codeigniter + HMVC + Twitter Bootstrap using this tutorial. I have created two modules named app and session. The app module contains the twitter bootstrap sample. When I click on About link, a new login page is displayed which is the session module configured using <?php echo Modules::run('session/session/index'); ?> The problem I am facing is that when I include the twitter bootstrap in both the views, the app module gets realigned and corousal doesnt work. How do I get the CSS to work with the session module ?

How to include simple collections in ConfigurationSection

Is there a way for me to include a simple array of strings, or List<string> on my custom subclass of ConfigurationSection? (Or an array or generic list of simple data objects, for that matter?) I'm becoming familiar with the new (and VERY verbose) ConfigurationSection, ConfigurationElement, and ConfigurationElementCollection classes, but I'm by no means an expert yet. It seems like ConfigurationSection should handle simple collections/lists on its own, without me having to create a custom ConfigurationElementCollection subclass for each and every one. But I haven't found any reference to this ability online.

Include all imports in Air application Bundle?

How can I import all files and classes into my AIR bundle... it must take a note that I created first a flex project, and set it's main class as Actionscript (.as) . Are there any good reasons for why you would include JavaScript like this: <script type="text/javascript">document.writeln('<script src="http://example.com/javascript/MyJavaScript.js" type="text/javascript"><' + '/script>');</script> (Sorry for the long scrolling line. This is in the head of a HTML document.) I've been looking at some HTML recently and I've noticed this a few times (all on the one site). I can't think of any reasons why you would do it like this, but I can hardly claim to be a web developer. It's likely that these lines of code are automatically generated, but still, someone somewhere must have thought this was a good idea.

include figure files in latex

Hi, I am trying to include jpeg files in latex \includegraphics[width=57.6mm, height=43.2mm]{../../results2/html/zerooneloss_stumps.jpg} With specified the width and height and compiled with pdflatex, however, it produces the error: ! LaTeX Error: Cannot determine size of graphic in ../../results2/html/zerooneloss_stumps.jpg (no BoundingBox). The true size of the image is 576x432 in pixels. Have I specified the size correctly in the latex file? Anyway to use the default setting without need to specify the width and height? If I don't specify the them in the latex file, \includegraphics[]{../../results2/html/zerooneloss_stumps.jpg} I still get the same no BoundingBox error. Thanks and regards!

Designing a recipe database that needs to include ingredients as well as sub-recipes

I am designing a recipe database that needs to be very flexible as it is going to be communicating directly with our back-of-house inventory system. This is what I have so far in regards to the tables: Recipe: this table will contain the recipe date: the name, steps needed to cook, etc. Ingredients/Inventory: this is our back of house inventory, so this will have the information about each product that will be used in our recipes. Recipe Line Item: This is the tricky table, I want to be able link to the ingredients here as well as the quantity needed for the recipe, but I also need to be able to directly include recipes from the recipe table (such as marinara sauce that we make in-house), and that is why I am having trouble figuring out the best way to design this table. Basically, the recipe line item table needs to be able to link to either the ingredients table or the recipe table depending on which line item is needed and I want to know what would be the most effective way to handle that. #include <string> adding ~43 KB to my exe

I'm using Code::Blocks to write my program and when I include <string> (or <iostream>) the size of my exe grows. My program is very simple and I need to keep it small <20kb. I'm pretty sure this is happening because of the C++ Standards Committee swapped the old .h versions for many new libraries without the .h. But how would I keep it from adding the ~43kb? Are there settings for Code::Blocks so that it wont add the extra kb or is there another native lib I can use?
