  • How to tell if two exe's are the same code-wise?

    Is there a way to detect whether two EXE's (compiled from VS.Net 2008 for C++/MFC) do not have any code-level changes between them i.e. for purposes of knowing that there have been no statement changes. This is for compliance purposes when my vendor ships me an exe, ostensibly with no changes made to the code since the last time we tested it. Is there a tool to check that this is so? Cheers

  • Multiple accordion panes open

    We are using a jquery accordion on our site : http://www.racedayworld.com It basically lists events under each month... Apparently people are finding difficulties knowing how it really works and they don't see at first glance that there are more events under each month (that you click to expand) So I was thinking about opening two at a time (the current month and the next) .. but I'm not sure how to enable both to be open at once ... any ideas?

    I haven’t been able to find a good solution for this problem on the net (probably because switch, position, list and Python are all such overloaded words). It’s rather simple – I have this list: ['title', 'email', 'password2', 'password1', 'first_name', 'last_name', 'next', 'newsletter'] I’d like to switch position of 'password2' and 'password1' – not knowing their exact position, only that they’re right next to one another and password2 is first. I’ve accomplished this with some rather long-winded list-subscripting, but I wondered if someone could come up with something a bit more elegant?

  • feeling insufficient while looking for a programming job ...

    Hello everybody It's really dream to be programmer for me.So i always wanted to be .I had so small knowledges from commodore basic which i couldn't figure out anything in it .Then i tried to learn Visual basic 6 by myself and result wasn't good as i expected because i even didn't understand classes.Then i left to learning programming and to dream to be programmer. But challenge hadn't finished yet . After all of these i started to learn c# and i did chess engine which i hadn't believe that i can create one.I sometimes feel that i understand many thing about programming like knowing classes ,inheritance,abstract class and methods why exist , interfaces ,extension methods ,static classes ,threads. but i am not expert all in it . i just know that as i need . i don't know still i will learn many thing about these.i have also learned html, css2 , php and database concepts a little sql ,tables relations between primary keys etc but i haven't used them in praticaly . i just did some samples so i feel i am lack of knowledges. As a result still i can't evaluate my skills and can't decide what is my level.I just feel myself one step ahead of junior sometimes :) . Still can't decide that it is time to job seeking. While searching job on web i have never seen a junior advertisement. All looking for a good experiencing one.Nobody care about juniors. When found job advertisement which i feel sufficient myself a little then i start to feel that i think i can't do what they want from me and loosing job after have it in short time would leave many crap feelings into my low self-confidence. Please advise me something ... Also i want to ask some of concentrate questions. 1) If i enter a job which i can't provide their expectations should be in employers responsibility to test me while apply the job ? 2) If i answer "yes , i can " questions which is abstract(for example: can u do something like this) would be my responsibility ? Because such abstract questions is not clear and can't know before start it what i really can or not . 3) i have no professional experiences in this job so i even don't know how teams working on projects but a friend of me said that programmers only write method bodies while seniors create all project.So it looks what i can do really easy but i feel that small companies doesn't work like this so it is better work in a big company for starting who has seniors? 4)last applied job was looking for c# . net developer but then i learn that they need .net web developer.Does it take long time to learn specific sides of web programming while knowing c# desktop programming ?     I'm looking for a good open source web editor that will take xsd (or some other standard XML) and from that generate web forms that will enable the end user to generate standard xml (without knowing anything about xml obliviously). I took a look at kupu, but there doesn't seem to be much documentation and the site appears to no longer exist. Is there anything out there that does this already. I could write something like this myself, but if there's something that out there that will save me some time that would be great. Thanks

    Hi, I have a user control...and the base page(s) which uses this user control has a dataset which will be used by the user control. My dataset is dynamic...means..it can have different number of columns depending upon which page my usercontrol is implemented. Is there any control in wpf which i can use to bind this dataset (without knowing the column information) ...i mean similar to datagrid/gridview in 2.0 ?

    Dear all, Why does Ruby on rails generated more queries in the background on Postgres than MySQL? I haven't tried deploying Rails on production with Postgres yet, but I am just afraid this generated queries would affect the performance. Do you find Rails with Postgres is slower than MySQL, knowing that it produce more query on the background? Or it is relatively the same?

    Hello, Knowing that we can use Divide-and-Conquer algorithm to compute large exponents, for exemple 2 exp 100 = 2 exp(50) * 2 exp(50), which is quite more efficient, is this method efficient using roots ? For exemple 2 exp (1/100) = (2 exp(1/50)) exp(1/50) ? In other words, I'm wondering if (n exp(1/x)) is more efficient to (n exp(1/y)) for x < y and where x and y are integers.

    Hi, I want to have a check box, like the standard one (first the check box and on the right its title) but I want it to be aligned from the right. If I change the alignment to the right then only the text will move to the right but the button itself will still be at the left.. How would I achieve this without knowing the bounds of the NSButton? We are evaluating some FW which will allow us to build dynamic pages, dynamic as in, deciding at runtime what user controls will be displayed and in what order. Also possibly, the pages and order in which they will be displayed.     As it is not possible to override a static class in c#, if i want to override a method I generally define a delegate matching the signature of the static method, then modify the method along the lines of: public static void foo(int bar) { if (delegatename!=null) { delegatename.Invoke(bar); } else { //execute previous code as normal } } I feel a twinge of guilt, knowing this is a bit messy. Can anyone suggest a neater solution to this problem (other than rewriting the original structure)

    For instance: void* sdl_library = dlopen("libSDL.so", RTLD_LAZY); void* initializer = dlsym(sdl_library,"SDL_Init"); Assuming no errors, initializer will point to the function SD_Init in the shared library libSDK.so. However this requires knowing the symbol "SDL_Init" exists. Is it possibly to query a library for all its symbols? Eg, in this case it would return SDL_Init, the function pointer, and any other symbols exported by libSDL.so.

  • possible to auto zoom out if user's resolution < x ?

    my site is aimed purely at the laptop market (dont ask why or argue!), all my users (or 95%+) we on a screen width of 1200+, netbooks are now taking off, with a resolution of 1024 wide. my site still looks great on a netbook if you zoom out once (ctrl-minus), but i don't want to rely on users knowing about ctrl-minus. what are my options besides redesign? I'm keen not to have zoom buttons on my page. is there a javascript zoomer outer?!!!
