Do Not Call is an important topic for all businesses as there are government regulations that can lead to significant fines, and of course, possible damage to your brand. Oracle leverages Siebel CRM to develop an effective solution to address the Do Not Call and Email Permissible Use requirements. The application uses the Contacts functionality to manage communication preferences, which when defined, centrally synchronizes all contact records that share the same phone number and email address. Additionally, the relevant information is masked so Oracle employees cannot accidentally reach out to the contact. • 13.04 Gnome - removing icons from lower panel

  I use the stripped down Gnome UI for 13.04 (Gnome-no effects) and on the bottom there is a panel where you can put icons for app launchers, by dragging them from applications menu. This is probably a really dumb question, but I can't figure out how to REMOVE a launcher icon from that panel once I put there! How is this done? Note - I saw another answer that said click alt-super and right click on top panel - I clicked remove launcher and now my top Application and Places menus are gone! How do I get them back - all screwed up now.

  How can I remove or autohide to 0 the bottom Gnome panel from a remastered liveCD and autostart AWN (or any dock for that matter...) to replace it? , just as moonOS 4 (the distro that gave me the idea to try to do this) Using this command to enable the auto hide gconftool-2 -t bool -s /apps/panel/default_setup/toplevels/bottom_panel/auto_hide "true" i Figured out how to Autostart AWN,however that involves removing BOTH panels, so im not quite there yet Using UCK gconf-editor to manually edit the option to auto hide the bottom panel doesn't work, when testing the livecd BOTH panels are still there, even though i use the command and then run gconf-editor to check that the option is eneabled, which it is, however, once the livecd starts the autohide feature is disabled

• Broken Gnome panel after Ubuntu Update

  Like every single update on Ubuntu system, my graphical system is completely broken after updating to version 11.10 http://i.imgur.com/YIHfA.png As shown in the image, the date is in the middle of the panel, There are many icons missing (network connection icon, skype) There's no right click menu when I try to right click on the panel and many programs don't have their menus (file,edit,view... those things). How do I fix this? I have gnome-panel, I don't want Unity and I'd rather install windows 95 before I switch to it.

• When starting or log off/on, add'l panels show and some panel applets are duplicated

  After upgrading to 12.04 Gnome Classic amd64,every time I log on a new additional blank panel appears on the top and bottom panels - which I delete every time. In addition, the default panel applets are duplicated in the original panels. Also the panels in the second screen are empty (in addition to the wallpaper being hidden). Update: As suggested by fossfreedomm I created a new user and the same behavior occurred. I increased the height of the panels (2436) and the added panels did not change. If I don't remove the added panels and log off/on I get still another - they accumulate. If I switch user instead of logoff/logon, the add'l panel do not appear.

• Openbox overhead is similar to that with gnome-panel

  I just installed openbox via sudo apt-get install openbox. It already has obconf, btw. I noticed that when I logged into my openbox session instead of the one I usually use (gnome-panel and NOT Ubuntu 2D or one of the high overhead environments) and checked via htop, I found that a similar amount of RAM was being occupied (~600 MB or so) with openbox or gnome-panel. What gives? Openbox looks lighter but it certainly isn't any different. Obviously the same daemons etc would run in both environments as they share the same folders. Is gnome-panel as good as openbox then?

• Why can't the Unity panel be hidden?

  I am a light Linux user. I have Natty installed on my netbook and used to have it dual-booted on my Windows 7 PC. After a total refresh of my notebook off came Ubuntu and I'm back to basics over there. But HERE (I'm running Natty on a HP-Mini) I've decided to poke around a bit to get the best user experience on this little thing. I really like the Unity interface but really hate the static Unity Panel. I have no clue why it's even necessary to be on globally. After all, in the classic interface, both panels can autohide or get filed aside with buttons on either side of the bar. On a 10" screen, real estate is at a premium. What intrinsic purpose does the static unity panel hold for the OS? There has to be a great reason for this thing to HAVE to be here. It ONLY goes away in fullscreen apps and I can't use everything fullscreen Why can the unity panel not be hidden?

  Possible Duplicate: How to find web hosting that meets my requirements? I was an iPower web hosting user before I encountered major problems with their MySQL databases. I recently tried A Small Orange, whose GUI was not compelling, and I quickly learned to loathe c panel. I looked into using GoDaddy, but reviews of their service have been very negative. I was satisfied with iPower's control panel, so something similar would be appropriate. Can anyone recommend a quality web host that includes the following features? *Unlimited bandwidth (200gb or higher) *Unlimited storage (10gb or higher) *High up-time (preferably 95% or higher) *Does not use C panel or other difficult-to-use control panels *Supports multiple MySQL databases *Uses a recent version of PHPmyAdmin

• First Day of Data Integration Track at Oracle OpenWorld 2012

  OpenWorld started full speed for us today with a great set of sessions in the Data Integration track. After the exciting keynote session on Oracle Database 12c in the morning; Brad Adelberg, VP of Development for Data Integration products, presented Oracle’s data integration product strategy. His session highlighted the new requirements for data integration to achieve pervasive and continuous access to trusted data. The new requirements and product focus areas presented in this session are: Provide access to any data at any source On premise or on cloud Enable zero downtime operations and maximum performance Leverage real-time data for accurate business insights And ensure high quality data is used across the enterprise During the session Brad walked over how Oracle’s data integration products, Oracle Data Integrator, Oracle GoldenGate, Oracle Enterprise Data Quality, and Oracle Data Service Integrator, deliver on these requirements and how recent product releases build on this strategy. Soon after Brad’s session we heard from a panel of Oracle GoldenGate customers, St. Jude Medical, Equifax, and Bank of America, how they achieved zero downtime operations using Oracle GoldenGate. The panel presented different use cases of GoldenGate, from Active-Active replication to offloading reporting. Especially St. Jude Medical’s implementation, which involves the alert management system for patients that use their pacemakers, reminded me in some cases downtime of mission-critical systems can be a matter of life or death. It is very comforting to hear that GoldenGate delivers highly-reliable continuous availability for life-saving medical systems. In the afternoon, Nick Wagner from the Product Management team and I followed the customer panel with the review of Oracle GoldenGate 11gR2’s New Features.  Many questions we received from audience were about GoldenGate’s new Integrated Capture for Oracle Database and the enhanced Conflict Management features, as well as how GoldenGate compares to Oracle Streams. In addition to giving details on GoldenGate’s unique capability to capture changed data with a direct integration to the Oracle DBMS engine, we reminded the audience that enhancements to Oracle GoldenGate will continue, while Streams will be primarily maintained. Last but not least, Tim Garrod and Ryan Fonnett from Raymond James presented a unified real-time data integration solution using Oracle Data Integrator and GoldenGate for their operational data store (ODS). The ODS supports application services across the enterprise and providing timely data is a critical requirement. In this solution, Oracle GoldenGate does the log-based change data capture for Oracle Data Integrator’s near real-time data integration between heterogeneous systems. As Raymond James’ ODS supports mission-critical services for their advisors, the project team had to set up this integration environment to be highly available. During the session, Ryan and Tim explained how they use ODI to enable automated process execution and “always-on” integration processes. Their presentation included 2 demonstrations that focused on CDC patterns deployed with ODI and the automated multi-instance execution and monitoring. We are very grateful to Tim and Ryan for their very-well prepared presentation at OpenWorld this year. Day 2 (Tuesday) will be also a busy day in our track.   I have read many posts for installing Oracle Database 10g XE Server in Ubuntu, such as this But I get an error: E: Unable to locate package oracle-xe when execute the command sudo apt-get install oracle-xe At the previous step (sudo apt-get update), it also notices that E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead. Did any one meet and solve this problem? I have searched for this problem but got no proper answer.
