  • second external javscript file not loaded

    - by YsoL8
    Hi I have these lines in my html head section <script type="text/javascript" src="../behaviour/location.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="../behaviour/ajax.js"></script> When I use either in isolation, the code in the external files executes as expected. However, when I use both, I find that neither works correctly. What do I need to do to fix this?

  • Starting a second command while the first is still running from a batch file

    - by ids
    I am trying to create a batch file that will run a utility that opens a connection to a device on the internet then starts a telnet session. I am at the point where once the connection opens the batch file doesn't proceed. Batch file @echo off set /p serial=What are the last 8 of the STB's serial? udp.exe -c 127.0.0.1 23 %serial% x.x.x.x 11111 127.0.0.1 23 | telnet 127.0.0.1 Output What are the last 8 of the STB's serial? XXXXXXX Ready for XXXXXXX It just sits at the 'ready ...' line and never opens the telnet connection. I have tried various | and & but no luck.

  • Java loop to collect the second and third elements every three in an array

    - by mhollander38
    I have a file with data in the form timestamp, coordinate, coordinate, seperated by spaces, as here; 14:25:01.215 370.0 333.0 I need to loop through and add the coordinates only to an array. The data from the file is read in and put into as String[] called info, from split(" "). I have two problems, I think the end of the file has a extra " " which I need to lose appropriately and I also want confirmation/suggestions of my loop, at the moment I am getting sporadic out of bounds exceptions. My loop is as follows; String[] info; info = dataHolder.split(" "); ArrayList<String> coOrds1 = new ArrayList<String>(); for (int counter = 0; counter < info.length; counter = counter+3) { coOrds1.add(info[counter+1]); coOrds1.add(info[counter+2]); } Help and suggestions appreciated. The text file is here but the class receives in a UDP packet from another class so I am unsure if this potentially adds " " at the end or not.

  • Activate first workbook after closing second one?

    - by user1830217
    Open workbook A. Code in A opens workbook B. B is now the active WB. Code in B ends with ThisWorkBook.Close B closes, so A appears. Problem is, I can't get ANY Activate events in WB A to fire automatically after WB B closes. But if I close WB B manually, using mouse to 'x' out the WB, or via the menus, then WB A triggers Activate events. Somehow using VBA to close WB B prevents WB A Activate events from triggering. Same results in Excel 97 and 2003 Am I missing something, or is there a workaround?? Thanks! John

  • removeClass doesn't work on the second DIV tag

    - by kwokwai
    Hi all, I am learning JQuery and writing a simple data validation for the two fields in a HTML form: <FORM name="addpost" id="addpost" method="post" action="/add"> <TABLE BORDER=0 width="100%"> <TR> <TD>Topic</TD> <TD> <DIV ID="topic"> <INPUT type=text name="topic" id="topic" size="72" maxlength="108"/> </DIV> </TD> </TR> <TR> <TD>Comments</TD> <TD> <DIV ID="topiccontent"> <TEXTAREA rows="12" cols="48" name="content" ID="content"> </TEXTAREA> </DIV> </TD> </TR> <TR> <TD> <INPUT type="submit" value="Send"> </TD> </TR> </TABLE> </FORM> Here is the JQuery script for checking the data input from the form above: $('#addpost').submit(function(){ if($('#topic').val()==""){ $('#topic').addClass('hierror'); return false;} else{$('#topic').removeClass('hierror');} if($('#topiccontent').val()==""){ $('#topiccontent').addClass('hierror'); return false;} else{$('#topiccontent').removeClass('hierror');} }); Here is the CSS for the hierror class: .hierror{border-style:solid; border-width:12px; border-color:#FF0000;} ('#topic').removeClass('hierror') works but ('#topiccontent').removeClass('hierror') doesn't. Could you help me please?

  • Second user-defined function returns garbage value?

    - by mintyfresh
    I have been teaching myself C programming, and I've come to a difficult point with using variables across functions. When, I compile this program and run it, the function askBirthYear returns the correct value, but sayAgeInYears returns either 0 or a garbage value. I believe it has something to do with how I used the variable birthYear, but I'm stumped on how to fix the issue. Here is the code: #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> int askBirthYear(int); void sayAgeInYears(int); int birthYear; int main(void) { askBirthYear(birthYear); sayAgeInYears(birthYear); return EXIT_SUCCESS; } void askBirthYear(int birthYear) { printf("Hello! In what year were you born?\n"); scanf("%d", &birthYear); printf("Your birth year is %d.\n", birthYear); return birthYear; } void sayAgeInYears(int birthYear) { int age; age = 2012 - birthYear; printf("You are %d years old.\n", age); }

  • Loop function works first time, not second time

    - by user1483101
    I'm creating a parsing program to look for certain strings in a a text file and count them. However, I'm having some trouble with one spot. def callbrowse(): filename = tkFileDialog.askopenfilename(filetypes = (("Text files", "*.txt"),("HTML files", ".html;*.htm"),("All files", "*.*"))) print filename try: global filex global writefile filex = open(filename, 'r') print "Success!!" print filename except: print "Failed to open file" ######This returns the correct count only the first time it is run. The next time it ######returns 0. If the browse button is clicked again, then this function returns the ######correct count again. def count_errors(error_name): count = 0 for line in filex: if error_name == "CPU > 79%": stringparse = "Utilization is above" elif error_name == "Stuck touchscreen": stringparse = "Stuck touchscreen" if re.match("(.*)" + "Utilization is above" + "(.*)",line): count = count + 1 return count Thanks for any help. I can't seem to get this to work right.

  • How to sort an array by (smallest, largest, second smallest, second, largest) etc?

    - by Binka
    Any ideas? I can sort an array. But not in this pattern? It needs to sort by the pattern I mentioned above. public void wackySort2(int[] nums) { int sign = 0; int temp = 0; int temp2 = 0; for (int i = 0; i < nums.length; i++) { for (int j = 0; j < nums.length - 1; j++) { if (nums[j] > nums[j + 1]) { temp = nums[j]; nums[j] = nums[j + 1]; nums[j + 1] = temp; //sign = 1; System.out.println("Something has been done"); } } } }

  • Ask the Readers: Are You A Second Screen Multi-tasker?

    - by Jason Fitzpatrick
    Television watchers are no longer keeping their eyes continuously glued to the screen–increasingly smartphone, tablet, and laptop users have merged their mobile device and television time. Are you one of the second screen multi-taskers? Image courtesy of Umani, a TV-companion application for iPad. According to Nielsen user surveys, at least 80% of mobile device owners have used their device while watching television in the past month–27% said they use their mobile device alongside the television multiple times a day. What the survey results are light on, however, is an in depth look at what the users are doing with their second screen. This week we want to hear about whether or not you’re one of the second screen multi-taskers and what you use your mobile device for during your television/movie time. • Ubuntu made my second HDD disappear from the BIOS!

    - by RWLarsen
    My netbook, an ASUS 1015PX, shipped with two harddrives. After switching to Ubuntu, the second drive isn't recognized by the OS or the BIOS. I've never formatted the second drive, so it's still set up for use by Windows. I guess I don't care about the data on the drive, I'd just like to be able to use it again. It's probably also worth mentioning that I'm very new to any form of Linux, so I'm remarkably new to the Terminal.

  • Is 'second' a keyword in mysql full-text searches?

    - by Larry
    I have a simple MySQL table that is setup for full text search. | id | title | ---------------------- | 1 | test event | | 2 | Second test | | 3 | Larry's event | | 4 | this second | When I use the query: SELECT * FROM EVENTS WHERE MATCH (title) AGAINST ('test event' IN BOOLEAN MODE); I get back 3 rows; the ones containing 'test event', 'Second test', and 'Larry's Event'. Now If I run the following query: SELECT * FROM EVENTS WHERE MATCH (title) AGAINST ('second' IN BOOLEAN MODE); Nothing is returned... strange? Lastly, if I run the query: SELECT * FROM EVENTS WHERE MATCH (title) AGAINST ('second test' IN BOOLEAN MODE); I get back 2 rows; the ones containing 'test event' and 'Second test'. I appears that the word 'second' cannot be searched or needs to be escaped somehow. Am I missing something?

  • strange segmentation fault during function return

    - by Kyle
    I am running a program on 2 different machines. On one it works fine without issue. On the other it results in a segmentation fault. Through debugging, I have figured out where the fault occurs, but I can't figure out a logical reason for it to happen. In one function I have the following code: pass_particles(particle_grid, particle_properties, input_data, coll_eros_track, collision_number_part, world, grid_rank_lookup, grid_locations); cout<<"done passing particles"<<endl; The function pass_particles looks like: void pass_particles(map<int,map<int,Particle> > & particle_grid, std::vector<Particle_props> & particle_properties, User_input& input_data, data_tracking & coll_eros_track, vector<int> & collision_number_part, mpi::communicator & world, std::map<int,int> & grid_rank_lookup, map<int,std::vector<double> > & grid_locations) { //cout<<"east-west"<<endl;   • booting into 12.04 results in a purple sceen for just a second.

    I have a vanilla Ubuntu install running on an Ivy-Bridge ultrabook that is using Intel 4000 graphics. I have enabled autologin via a line in the lightdm config file. My boot is very fast, however, it is ugly. The screen will be black, all solid purple for a second, then Plymouth for a second, then desktop. I would really like to figure out what the solid purple is and how to remove it. I would like to either have a different color (black) or skipped entirely.

What I want to know is how to install Ubuntu on the second drive. I am looking for a non complicated answer as I am not familiar with the Ubuntu lingo. I am so sick of Windows.. I used Ubuntu before but it didn't work properly. When i installed it, it said I didn't have enough space... Even tho I had 600GB to use. Anyway if anyone can help me out it would be much appreciated. Thanks

  • Have programmers at your work not taken up or been averse to an offer of a second monitor?

    - by Chris Knight
    I'm putting together a business case for the developers in my company to get a second monitor. After my own experiences and research, this seems a no-brainer to me in terms of increasing productivity and morale/happiness. One question which has niggled me is if I should be pushing to get all developers onto a second monitor or let folk opt-in (i.e. they get one if they want one). Thoughts on this are welcome, but my specific question relates to a snippet on this site: But when the IT manager at Thibeault's company asked other employees if they wanted dual monitors last year, few jumped at the offer. Blinded by my own pre-judgement, this surprised me. Has anyone else experienced this? I fully appreciate that some people prefer a single larger monitor, but my general experience of researching the web suggests that most programmers prefer a dual (or more) setup. I'm guessing this should be tempered with the thought that those developers who contribute to such discussions might not be considered your average developer who might not care one way or the other. Anyway, if you have experienced the above have you tried to sell the concept of dual monitors to the masses? If everyone just got 2 monitors regardless if they wanted it or not, were there adverse reactions or negative effects? UPDATE: The developers are on a mixture of 17", 22", or 24" single monitors. The desks should be able to accommodate dual 22" monitors as I am proposing, though this will take some getting used to I imagine.
