  I'm trying to figure out how to integrate django-registration with django-paypal. Being a Django n00b, I'm trying to figure out how to implement a flow like this: User signs up using django-registation with 'active' flag set to 0 After registering, send user to PayPal for a subscription When they come back from PayPal successfully, I want to set 'active' to 1 I've been looking at the django-registration documentation and don't quite understand how to use different backends or implement a flow the way I want. Any tips on how to accomplish this would be greatly appreciated. django-paypal won't be a problem for me as I've done PayPal integration before (in PHP for a self-published book about CakePHP).

• How to sketch out an event-driven system?

  I'm trying to design a system in Node.js (an attempt at solving one of my earlier problems, using Node's concurrency) but I'm running into trouble figuring out how to draw a plan of how the thing should operate. I'm getting very tripped up thinking in terms of callbacks instead of returned values. The flow isn't linear, and it's really boggling my ability to draft it. How does one draw out an operational flow for an event-driven system? I need something I can look at and say "Ok, yes, that's how it will work. I'll start it over here, and it will give me back these results over here." Pictures would be very helpful for this one. Thanks. Edit: I'm looking for something more granular than UML, specifically, something that will help me transition from a blocking and object-oriented programming structure, where I'm comfortable, to a non-blocking and event driven structure, where I'm unfamiliar.

  I have a bipartite graph. I am looking for a maximum (1,n) "matching", which means that each vertex from partitation A has n associated vertices from partition B. The following figure shows a maximum (1,3) matching in a graph. Edges selected for the matching are red and unselected edges are black. This differs from the standard bipartite matching problem where each vertex is associate with only one other vertex, which could be called (1,1) matching with this notation. If the matching cardinality (n) is not enforced but is an upper bound (vertices from A can have 0 < x <= n associated vertices from B), then the maximum matching can be found easily by transforming the graph to a flow network and finding the max flow. However, this does not guarantee that the maximum number of vertices from A will have n associated pairs from B.

I was fairly dangerous with the MSBuild way of doing things and I think I can still do that, but I would like to get into the Work Flow way of doing it. Are there any resources out there that discuss customizing a TFS Build via Windows Work Flow? Especially how to override the solution concept and how to compile and report errors.   Hello all, I just started working on python and I have been trying to run an outside executable form python. I have an executable for a program written in Fortran. Lets say the name for the executable is flow.exe. And my executable is lacated in C:\Documents and Settings\flow_model I tried both os.system and popen commands but so far couldnt make it work. The following code seems like opens the command window but wouldnt execute the model. # Import system modules import sys, string, os, arcgisscripting os.system("C:/Documents and Settings/flow_model/flow.exe") Any suggestions out there? • Deadlock error in INSERT statement

  We've got a web-based application. There is a time-bound database operation (INSERTs and UPDATEs) in the application which takes more time to complete, hence this particular flow has been changed into Java Thread so it will not wait (block) for the complete database operation to be completed. My problem is, if more than 1 user come across this particular flow, I'm facing the following error thrown by PostgreSQL: org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: ERROR: deadlock detected Detail: Process 13560 waits for ShareLock on transaction 3147316424; blocked by process 13566. Process 13566 waits for ShareLock on transaction 3147316408; blocked by process 13560. Above error is consistently thrown in INSERT statements.   Hi, Earlier users with more than 300 reputations or so (don't remeber exactly) had the ability to create new tags which is tagged to their Questions , so that it was easier to search for similar questions with the tags. And also the tags helped to identify the context of the Questions asked for. I had also created few new tags for the questions that i ask for. But now it seems the Stackover team without prior notice to the users or any intimation has revoked the permission for creating new tags and also has set the reputation to more that 1500 for creating new tags. Isn't this a bully act or did they feel its useless/unnecessary not required to inform all the registered users before making the changes ? thoughts....

  I'm trying to setup my Xcode project to be instrumented with gcov so I can determine the code coverage of my unit tests. All of the documentation I find online talks about settings that I don't find in Xcode 3.1, though. An example: To work with Coverstory, first you need to set up your target to work with gcov. This requires turning on "Instrument Program Flow", "Generate Test Coverage Files" and linking with the gcov library. (Using Coverstory) The closest thing I can find to "Instrument Program Flow" and "Generate Test Coverage Files" in my build settings is "Generate Profiling Code", which doesn't appear to do what I want it to do. Am I looking in the wrong place for these settings or are all of the examples I'm finding online stale?

• Debugging site written mainly in JScript with AJAX code injection

  Hello, I have a legacy code to maintain and while trying to understand the logic behind the code, I have run into lots of annoying issues. The application is written mainly in Java Script, with extensive usage of jQuery + different plugins, especially Accordion. It creates a wizard-like flow, where client code for the next step is downloaded in the background by injecting a result of a remote AJAX request. It also uses callbacks a lot and pretty complicated "by convention" programming style (lots of events handlers are created on the fly based on certain object names - e.g. current page name, current step name). Adding to that, the code is very messy and there is no obvious inner structure - the functions are scattered in the code, file names do not reflect the business role of the code, lots of functions and code snippets are most likely not used at all etc. PROBLEM: How to approach this code base, so that the inner flow of the code can be sort-of "reverse engineered" using a suite of smart debugging tools. Ideally, I would like to be able to attach to the running application and step through the code, breaking on each new function call. Also, it would be nice to be able to create a "diagram of calls" in the application (i.e. in order to run a particular page logic, this particular flow of function calls was executed in a particular order). Not to mention to be able to run a coverage analysis, identifying potentially orphaned code fragments. I would like to stress out once more, that it is impossible to understand the inner logic of the application just by looking at the code itself, unless you have LOTS of spare time and beer crates, which I unfortunately do not have :/ (shame...) An IDE of some sort that would aid in extending that code would be also great, but I am currently looking into possibility to use Visual Studio 2010 to do the job, as the site itself is a mix of Classic ASP and ASP.NET (I'd say - 70% Java Script with jQuery, 30% ASP). I have obviously tried FireBug, but I was unable to find a way to define a breakpoint or step into the code, which is "injected" into the client JS using AJAX calls (i.e. the application retrieves the code by invoking an URL and injects it to the client local code). Venkman debugger had similar issues. Any hints would be welcome. Feel free to ask additional questions.

  Hi, I work in team which uses Work flow management tool. I was presented with a challenge where the user should be able to roll back the changes made anytime during the flow to a certain point in the past. Surely the toll can handle it but the additional database calls that may have made during these activities have to be manually rolled back. the challenge is that there are multiple parallel paths and there different permutations of external database calls. So is there a frame work or a way to keep track of these DB calls and rollback them?. thank you, Justin

  Hi all, i have a problem in iphone application that i have integrated google map and i am calculating center runtime so that the map shows both points on the iphone screen, the alogrithm applied (thanks to stackover flow) is working fine in case of 2 locations very far from each other. But it is not working for near locations and the zoom level goes too much that it is not able to show any images of those two near locations, so i want to put a check that if the location are very near to each other OR the google is not able to show the maps of the locations then it choose the default zoom level so that it shows the map on the screen instead of blank / black screen. • RAD Visual Web Application Creator/ Builder/ Designer for PHP

  Hi all, I want to see if any of you know a (free and open source will be ideal) tool/ app that can help build a php web application very quickly without investing too much time on writing codes, preferring drag and drop/ point and click work-flow designer for logic design (see Agile from Outsystems below). Plus, visual designer for the business logic is great since it can help a developer visualize the logic better. There are a lot of GUI builders, form builders out there, but I am looking for one app for the entire web application development process. My goal is to find an application that a team of developers can use together and use the build-in code of the app as much as possible. E.g. the app will provide a modular just for handle user login or a shopping cart; a developer just need to drag and drop the modular to the logic designer and the code will be generated. This way the functionality will be in a module and code will always be standard across developers. So if a new developer get on-board, he will just need to use the system and get up and running quickly. To explain this better: there is a lot php frameworks, e.g. cakephp, CodeIgniter, etc which I can use to help coding, but still I need to create (code) the GUI, writing quite a bit of codes. I am looking for a tool/ app that is a little more high level than those frameworks. Here is 2 examples apps I found during my google search which they have visual logic designer and gui builder in one single app. Also a single click deployment (but I need it to be php apps or at least I can deploy the (php) code to a LAMP/ WAMP server): Wavemaker: for JAVA Agile from Outsystems: for JAVA or .net (This one is really good, with work-flow drag and drop logic designer!) Talend: it is just an ETL tool, but the concept is what I want to bring up. Drag and drop, point and click logic design. Custom code can be added if it is needed, but the drag and drop process already finished the structure and most of the coding of the web app one needs to build. I want to list Adobe Flex, but it is more like a GUI designer + IDE, not exactly what I want to describe here. The drag and drop/ work-flow logic designer is a key for the app. I could go for the CMS route by learning how to extend them, but it is not that flexible for me and is a long learning curve. Anybody came across this type of app before? Or any idea of how can I find those apps? I googled them for long time, I don't see any of them for php and just few (just 2) for Java.   On the home page of my site I use JQuery's ajax function to pull down a list of recent activity of users. The recent activity is displayed on the page, and each line of the recent activity includes a link to the user profile of the user who did the activity. Will Google actually make the ajax call to pull down this info and use it in calculating page relevancy / link juice flow? I'm hoping that it does not because the user profile pages are not very Google index worthy, and I don't want all those links to the User profile pages diluting my home page's link juice flow away from other more important links.

  I am creating an application which will allow a developer to create a program flow-chart by selecting pre-defined functions from a ToolBox (which will show up as small graphical elements). In other words, developer will select one or more pre-defined functions (graphical elements) from ToolBox and drag-drop on the main work area. The application will then, based on the flow of functions selected, will auto-generate ready-to-compile-code. I looked a GraphViz, but am not sure whether it can be used to create a GUI IDE for editing graphical elements. I am looking for a functionality similart to Microsoft Visio, where users can add/remove/drag-drop/ various shapes to create a diagram. Does GraphViz fit in here? If yes, can you direct me to some examples showing how to do it? If GraphViz cannot be used, what are the other open source/free components available? I am intending to build the final application in .Net.

  Hi, I have a need to support extensive auditing capabilities for a system backing into Sql Server 2008. Since I plan to use LINQ (with no Stored Procs), the database would be a clean, zero contact data repository. However, I need to pratically record a snapshot of every change that happens in the db. So, I thought I should use triggers. But then, I need a user id for the particular user (not the connection string user id) to flow through into the database. In oracle, I should have been able to set up a PROXY USER and the trigger would be able to pick that up. Last I checked, there was no proxy user concept in Sql Server. Does anyone know if there's any extender property I can use to flow through my authenticated user name? ps: I don't mind the impact on connection pooling (if any). Thanks. P

  I got to a point where it's very difficult to get answers by debugging and tracing object, so i need some help. What I'm trying to do: A history form for my screen capture pet project. The history must list all images as thumbnails (ex: picasa). What I've done: I created a HistoryItem:UserControl. This history item has a few buttons, a check box, a label and a picture box. The buttons are for delete/edit/copy image. The check box is used for selecting one or more images and the label is for some info text. The picture box is getting the image from a public property that is a path and a method creates a proportional thumbnail to display it when the control has been loaded. This user control has two public events. One for deleting the image and one for bubbling the events for mouse enter and mouse leave trough all controls. For this I use EventBroadcastProvider. The bubbling is useful because wherever I move the mouse over the control, the buttons appear. The dispose method has been extended and I manually remove the events. All images are loaded by looping a xml file that contains the path of all images. For each image in this XML I create a new HitoryItem that is added (after a little coding to sort and limit the amount of images loaded) to a flow layout panel. The problem: When I lunch the history form, and the flow layout panel is populated with my HistoryItem custom control, my memory usage increases drastically.From 14Mb to around 100MB with 100 images loaded. By closing the history form and disposing whatever I could dispose and even trying to call GC.Collect() the memory increase remain. I search for any object that could not be disposed properly like an image or event but wherever I used them they are disposed. The problem seams to be from multiple sources. One is that the events for bubbling are not disposing properly, and the other is from the picture box itself. All of this i could see by commenting all the code to a limited version when only the custom control without any image processing and even events is loaded. Without the events the memory consumption is reduced by axiomatically 20%. So my real question is if this logic, flow layout panels and custom controls with picture boxes, is the best solution for displaying large amounts of images as thumbnails. Thank you!

  Say I have the following path and file name: P:\Actuary\Cash Flow Forecast\Annual and Quarterly Budget Data\ECMQA 2012Q1.xls I want to write an if then statement that does the following (not sure if my statement is set up properly): If InStr(1, "P:\Actuary\Cash Flow Forecast\Annual and Quarterly Budget Data\ECMQA 2012Q1.xls", "QA", vbTextCompare) > 0 Then BD.Sheets("Sheet1").Range("C2").value = "2012Q1" End If Instead of just inputting "2012Q1", I want it to automatically read this from the file. The thing is I am actually looping through 12 or so files and there's two types, "ECMQA 2012Q1.xls" (or ECMQB 2012Q2.xls and so on) AND "ECM Annual Budget 2012.xlsx" If my file is the annual one (If file contains "Annual"), then I want: BD.Sheets("Sheet1").Range("C2").value = "2012" And i want it to read this from the actual file, same as the other one...not me putting in "2012" Is there a way to do this? Any help will be appreciated!

  If you have to build a flow of a Use-case by drawing each Interface Diagram. Then you would start with a Diagram like say "login". But after the login page, no mather wich page you choose except the "logout" page, you always have your navigation bar right ? So all the options in the navigation bar? Like account page , personal page, etc... Do you have to make sure in your flow that in every diagram there is acces to the "accountpage" diagram ? Or do they have an other solution for that ?   I want to draw and manipulate logic flow (as opposed to analog) circuit diagrams and I'm trying not to reinvent the wheel. Problems like positioning, line drawing, line crossing and connecting, path finding, rubberband lines, and drag & drop are also identical in flow charts, UML diagrams, or class diagrams so I started by viewing related topics via Google and Stack Overflow. However, the following requirements seemed to keep me from finding anything that quite fit: assuming a chip has an image with input and output stubs, the connecting lines would connect to the chip only in the exact spots of the I/O stubs the color of connecting lines are able to be set as per a chip's output Is there an existing .NET 2d graphics library that would be suitable for drawing circuit diagrams?
