  I wondered if it is possible to bridge two incoming tcp sockets. For example: Client A -----> Server <----- Client B The the server sends it's magic to both clients and then they connect to each other bypassing the server Server Client A ----------><---------- Client B UPDATE: The idea is when those clients can't bind to ports to listen to still be able to create connection between each other with the help of the server. For example Client A and Client B have tcp sockets with the server. User A decides to chat with User B and creates a new tcp connection with the server with the request to bridge it with User B. The server sends that request to Client B and it also opens up a new tcp connection with the server for that chat line. Now when the server has both chat connections from A and B it bridges them and they can work without the server, and as a result the server won't have to process all the messages and files the two users share. • HP Z210 SFF: two different video cards produce no Displayport output when installed

  I have a HP Z210 SFF that I'm trying to install a video card into. I've tried two different cards in Slot 2 (a Quadro FX380LP and a Quadro 600). Neither of these cards produce a displayport signal when installed. With neither installed the displayport port on the motherboard works fine with the built in graphics. When I install the cards it produces no signal and the cards don't either. The Quadro 600 is brand new and the odds of having two dead video cards is quite low. Is there something fundamental that I could be missing out - a BIOS setting maybe?

  /media/A and /media/B should be identical, but I want to confirm before deleting one. Duplicate file finders don't work, because they'll find two copies of the same file within B, for instance. I only want to confirm that every file in one is identical to the other. diff -qr /media/A/ /media/B/ seems to work, but the output is cluttered with garbage like diff: /media/A//etc/alternatives/ControlPanel: No such file or directory and File /media/A//dev/tty8 is a character special file while file /media/B//dev/tty8 is a character special file I can suppress the former with 2> /dev/null, but I don't know about the latter. rsync -avn /media/A/ /media/B/ also produces a bunch of clutter, like "skipping non-regular file". How can I compare the two trees and just make sure that all the real files exist in both and are identical?

• Reverse DNS for two ADs in the same subnet

  I currently have two separate AD forests that exist within the same subnet. The two forests have independent copies of the reverse lookup zone for that subnet. Example: Domain A DC1: 10.1.1.1/24 Domain A DC2: 10.1.1.2/24 Domain A AppServer1:10.1.1.3/24 Domain B DC1: 10.1.1.11/24 Domain B DC2: 10.1.1.12/24 Domain B Appserver1:10.1.1.13/24 What I'm after, is a configuration that allows this reverse zone to be shared between them so that both sets of DNS servers can make updates to the zone. This kind of thing is a little far from my everday work, so a kick in the right direction is a welcome suggestion as well. Decoupling one AD into new segments is a possibility I'm open to but would like to avoid if possible. If there is a DNS related solution I'd prefer that.

  Hi All, I have to install wordpress (One Blog, one domain, for e.g. mycompany.com/blog) on two servers sharing one database on a different server, these two servers are behind a loadbalancer and the db would be on another server. We are planning this way due to high traffic. I have done standalone wordpress installations on a single server, on windows 2003, 2008 with IIS6, 7 etc I am just researching as to how would I implement this. What would be the steps to achieve this and upon searching I saw some posts regarding the wp-content/uploads directory to be synced at regular intervals ? your help much appreciated Thanks for reading

  My monit script works to detect an outage with a process and inform me when the rule is: IF DOES NOT EXIST THEN ALERT My monit script works to detect an outage and automatically fix it when the rule is: IF DOES NOT EXIST THEN START But, what I want it to do is inform me AND fix it. Two rules in a row seems to make it ignore all but the last: IF DOES NOT EXIST THEN ALERT IF DOES NOT EXIST THEN START # No alert given. I could use a custom script that does both, and IF DOES NOT EXIST THEN EXEC "my_handwritten_script" but I was trying to move away from a mess of hand-written scripts towards a clean Monit configuration. Can I configure Monit to take two actions?

• Routing between two networks on linux?

  I got stuck with one problem I cant find solution. I have linux pc with two NIC. first nic (eth1) is connected to public ip (probably switch or whatever, doesnt really mater) so eth1 is connected to wan and another eth0 that I connected to switch and make it a lan nic. configuration: eth1 ip address 88.200.1xx.xxx //xxx's are cuz of security reasons eth0 ip address 192.168.1.1 wan ------ [eth1 (linux PC) eth0]<----[switch]<---- [eth1 (PC1)] Now I want to connect this two networks, so PC1 can access linux PC and wan. I think I know how to do it but I cant confiugre it right. This is what I tried: I turend on ip forwarding (for sure) I set eth1 default gw to the right ip on the wan I tried to set eth0 default gw to the same ip (but i couldnt) What or how can I do this, I was trying with linux route command, but I got stuck. Please help.

  I am working on creating a template in Visio 2007 (Professional). Each page should reflect a document number and a revision number (two text boxes). I would like to make the template such that entering or changing text in one of these boxes on one page will automatically update the equivalent text boxes on all other pages. Is there an easy way to link two (or more) text boxes to show the same data (mirror each other)? I've looked into creating a ShapeData set and then using the ShapeData field in place of each box, but this will require training others to access and adjust the ShapeData field.   I use OpenOffice to produce a document in PDF format. This document is occasionally revised and reissued. I now need to produce a variant of this document with a small number of paragraphs replaced by other paragraphs. I would prefer to avoid maintaining two separate documents where 95% of the text is the same. In other words, from one ODT file I would like to be able to produce two PDFs with slighly differing content. Are there some OpenOffice features I could use that would help with this?

  I have set up a server running Windows Server 2008 which two remote users can dial into using a VPN connection. It works fine unless they are both in the same location, in which case only one of them can connect. I understand this is because the PPTP protocol cannot cope with two VPN connections from the same IP address. Is this correct? If so, what can I do about it? Please note that the remote location in question is a serviced office, so we're not in a position to change or play around with their router. Thanks!

  I have two different domain names that resolve to the same ASP.Net site. Both domains are hosted on the same server, which runs Windows Server 2003 and IIS6. The sites are differentiated in IIS Manager using host headers. However, both of the sites point to the same folder on the local drive for the site's page files. I am occasionally experiencing an ASP.Net error that says "The state information is invalid for this page and might be corrupted." I'm the site developer so I've addressed all the relevant code-related causes for this issue. However, I was wondering whether having two domains/sites sharing the same folder for an ASP.Net application might be causing this intermittent error. Also, is this generally a bad practice? Should I make separate, duplicate folders for each of the domains? Seems like that can become a maintenance headache.

  I am installing tomcat on a linux server, and would want it to be available as a service. I have found two different ways to achieve this. The first one is to copy the daemon.sh from $CATALINA_HOME/bin to /etc/init.d, and the other one I have seen is to create a simple init script that class $CATALINA_HOME/bin/startup.sh, etc. Startup.sh calls catalina.sh. The contents of the daemon.sh and startup.sh look very similar (at least for the env variables, and stuff like that). Daemon.sh calls jsvc in the end. Catalina.sh calls java. What is the (practical) difference between using the two of these when setting up tomcat as a service?

• two shops network

  okay so, I just opened up two shops in my hometown. The two stores is about 6 blocks apart, connecting them by wire is not really feasible in cost wise. What kind of network topology should I use for my small shops, there will be 5 computers, one is the sales computer ,another 4 as mentioned is the guest computer. I want the sales and guest computers network to be seperated. Both shops have same computers. The guest computers serves up simple website that has my shop catalog on it, I'm thinking of using a web server. So, how am i suppose to setup these networks, im planning to add in more computers in the future. Is it I need to station a single server at a shop, and all the computer connected to it? or is there any more effective methods? I'm no networking expert, would love to hear some advice.

This is a question about the definition of a network from the OSI / TCP/IP model point of view: From one point of view, those are two L2 networks connected with a bridge.   The answers are unclear wherever I look. I have two 2TB drives for a RAID1 and I want to mirror them while having two partitions on the drives. One partition will be 100GB and contain programs, the other partition will be 1.8TB and contain personal files. Some may ask why? The answer is that my programs are currently on another older drive and I want to save time and pain uninstalling and re-installing critical programs while merely copying them to the new drives via Shadowcopy. When I create the RAID1, will both partitions be mirrored? Is this possible? I am sorry if I am being confusing or unclear.

  here's my situation: I had an HDD with Windows 8 installed (UEFI mode). I bought a SSD and wanted to do a clean install of Windows, so I thought that disabling the HDD and leaving the SSD as the only drive when installing was the right procedure to install the boot manager on the SSD. Unfortunately, after I plugged the HDD back in, the computer won't boot unless I select from the BIOS directly the SSD as the boot device. I guess the problem is that I have two Windows Boot Managers on two separate drives and they conflict. How would I solve this problem (excluding a format of the HDD, because I need to access data on the old Windows partition and, ideally, I would like to be able to boot that partition)?

  Hello, I have an abstract class named Xpto and two subclasses that extend it named Person and Car. I have also a class named Test with main() and a method foo() that verifies if two persons or cars (or any object of a class that extends Xpto) are equals. Thus, I redefined equals() in both Person and Car classes. Two persons are equal when they have the same name and two cars are equal when they have the same registration. However, when I call foo() in the Test class I always get "false". I understand why: the equals() is not redefined in Xpto abstract class. So... how can I compare two persons or cars (or any object of a class that extends Xpto) in that foo() method? We have two databases, the one is a development database, the other a production database.
