• CSS class equivalent for LaTeX

  I am trying to figure out if there is a way to apply the CSS methodology to the LaTeX template I am building. What I would like to do is to have a set of classes that apply a specific style treatment to the bracketed words. For example: If I have three paragraphs of text, I want to have all of the paragraphs have [0.5cm] of spacing after the last line without having to add \\[0.5cm] after each paragraph. Is there a LaTeX equivalent of defining the treatment for all paragraphs in the preamble so that it cascades throughout my document? The equivalent of: <style> p {padding-bottom:0.5cm} </style> I want to be able to specify multiple version of these CSS-like LaTeX classes throughout my document, so I don't need a specific solution. I need help understanding how to add custom labels/names/classes to the preamble and an example of how to use them in the document itself. Thanks! Ryan

• Code for adding Content Controls Word 2007 C#

  Hey all, I was wondering if anyone has any idea how I can add Content Controls to a Word Document (Office 2007) from the Document Task/Action Pane via C#. The goal is the following: I want to have categorized information in the Task/Action Pane and have the user fill out the info there. Once they have filled out that information they'll click on a button and it will insert content Controls into the Word Document that has that Data. The reason I want to use Content Controls is because the data will be bound to a database. Is this possible? I would like links that do this without WordProcessingML or OpenXML. There has to be a way to do this via server side code and such that doesn't require long blocks of ,, etc. Thanks!

  I've got a function I wrote quite some time ago that works fine, but I'd like to speed up the process and lessen server load by doing the same job in Javascript. • Why is the event object different coming from jquery bind vs. addEventListener

  Why is it when I use the jQuery bind the event object I get back is different from the event object I get back using addEventListener? The event object resulting from this jQuery bind does not have the targetTouches array (among other things) but the event from the addEventListener does. • Is it possible to "intercept" a 3rd party library's "WriteFile" operation

  This is likely a long shot, but I thought I'd ask anyway. I'm using a document management system's API. They provide a "WriteFile" method to save a given document to disk. However, the library does not have a way to simply read a document into memory. My only option, it seems, is to write to disk, then read it back in again. I'm wondering if there is a better way to work around this obvious limitation. Thanks in advance!

  I am unable to add a row to a HTML table dynamically. I am using IHtmlDocument2 to create tr and td elements and IHtmlElement to set attributes and IHtmlDomNode to add created node to the document hierarchy. Please anyone help me to solve the above problem. I am traversing through the document when I get the tr tag I have created the tr element using CreateElement, then I use InsertBefore to insert it into the document but it's not working. I've tried for one week but didn't get anything working.

• Weird Workflow Behavior in Sharepoint 2007

  I have a Document Library A and a list B. When a document added to A, an item is created in B with the Title = A.Url. Another workflow runs whenever a document is updated in A which makes a lookup: B.Title = A.Url, and changes another column in B in found item. Item Change Workflow always gives "Error Occurred: List item is not found". I modified the workflow to send me an e-mail containing the new (but unchanged) A.Url. It sent me the exact string with the one already in list B. Anyways, why it can't find the item when the two columns are equal? Thanks in advance. Edit I literally hate Microsoft Sharepoint.

• Problems with XAML WPF 4.0 Editor in VS2010

  Wondering if anybody else has found some very odd behaviour with the XAML/WPF 4 editor in VS2010. This only occurs if the project is using .NET 4. Whenever I tried to open a XAML document for editing, the window would appear to open for a split second and then vanish, but VS2010 would still list the window as open. The fault was eventually traced to having the "Reuse current document window, if saved" option under "Documents" in the "Environment" options checked. Once this was unchecked XAML 4 files opened as expected. As I said, this only appears to occur on projects targeted at .NET Framework 4 - those targeted at 3.5 worked without a problem, and the "Reuse current document window, if saved" appears to work fine on other files.

  I have an html document, and I want to pull the tables out of this document and return them as arrays. I'm picturing 2 functions, one that finds all the html tables in a document, and a second one that turns html tables into 2-dimensional arrays. Something like this: htmltables = get_tables(htmldocument) for table in htmltables: array=make_array(table) There's 2 catches: 1. The number tables varies day to day 2. The tables have all kinds of weird extra formatting, like bold and blink tags, randomly thrown in. Thanks!

More precisely, is there a way to accomplish <script type="text/javascript"> document.write("foo"); </script> ... without the use of document.write? I am not happy about using document.write after reading this.   Our users have issues where the Document Information Panel(DIP) appears on Word, Excel, PPT documents. Here is the scenario: User downloads a copy of a template from the portal to his/her local hard drive. User edits that template and renames the file, again saving it to his/her local drive. User continues to edit and update that new document, and it continues to prompt him/her for document information as if the user was saving it on the portal. User clicks the “X” to remove this DIP bar, the next time he/she opens the local file it comes back. Is there anything I can do to make the DIP NOT SHOW on the local copies? Thanks!

• Windows Sharepoint Service (WSS) 3.0 search Issue

  Based on this http://servergrrl.blogspot.com/2008/02/how-to-use-wss-30-to-search-more-than.html blog, I've created a domain account for testing and sets the permission at the side level as well as Document Library to allow specific user (DOMAIN/TestUser1) allow accessing this folder. Now, it's interesting that the user can see the document by drilling though BUT it won't be able to search and the document couldn't find it. But if I tested with the site owner (both primary and secondary), it works nicely. What did I do wrong then? It must be related on permission but I cound't work out what it is. BTW ... I am using WSS not MOSS 2007. Thanks

  Hi guys. Trying to fiddle around with regex here, my first attempt. Im trying to extract some figures out of content from an XML tag. The content looks like this: www.blahblah.se/maps.aspx?isAlert=true&lat=51.958855252721&lon=-0.517657021473527 I need to extract the lat and long numerical vales out of each link. They will always be the same amount of characters, and the lon may or may not have a "-" sign.   I am trying to use the new LiveConnect features introduced in Java 6 Update 10. Code looks like this (copied from the applet tutorial): Class<?> c = Class.forName("com.sun.java.browser.plugin2.DOM"); Method m = c.getMethod("getDocument", java.applet.Applet.class); Document document = (Document) m.invoke(null, this); But all I am getting is a ClassNotFoundException for the entry-point class. This on the Mac, 10.6, with both Firefox and Safari. Java Plug-in 1.6.0_22 Using JRE version 1.6.0_22-b04-307-10M3261 Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM Is this not implemented on the Mac? Or do I need to configure something? All I need to do is get and set the value of form elements on the page, so I would be fine with an older (pre-6u10) API if that works better.

  Hi there, I'm a C++ developer wrestling with updating an application that had made extensive use of the IStorage interface to open pre-Office 2007 documents from in-memory storage (via ILockBytes). If you are still following me so far, you probably know that the new Office Document formats are incompatible with IStorage containers. The application I'm trying to update, relied upon the IPersistStorage interface that all Office applications have, and the code as written calls the load method of IPersistStorage to read in a document from IStorage interface. So the question is.... What kind of COM interfaces are available to me to read in, from an in memory container, an Office 2007 document? John "S"

• Creating BlackBerry method stubs using wscompile on WSDL from ColdFusion

  I have been working on a BlackBerry application that consumes web services from ColdFusion 7. The Java ME SDK and the Java Wireless Toolkit both require that the generated WSDL be of the document/literal type. Fortunately, I have input on the web service development so I tried setting 'style="document"' in the cfcomponent tag. This generated a document/literal style WSDL but now wscompile generates the following errors in several places: Found unknown simple type: javax.xml.soap.SOAPElement Found unknown simple type: java.util.Calendar Any ideas why this is happening? The WSDL does get parsed correctly by the JWSDP tool but the stubs use namespaces that are not available in the J2ME platform. I would have thought ColdFusion WSDL would work more easily with other products in the Java family.

  I am trying to use IDF scores to find interesting phrases in my pretty huge corpus of documents. I basically need something like Amazon's Statistically Improbable Phrases, i.e. phrases that distinguish a document from all the others The problem that I am running into is that some (3,4)-grams in my data which have super-high idf actually consist of component unigrams and bigrams which have really low idf.. For example, "you've never tried" has a very high idf, while each of the component unigrams have very low idf.. I need to come up with a function that can take in document frequencies of an n-gram and all its component (n-k)-grams and return a more meaningful measure of how much this phrase will distinguish the parent document from the rest. If I were dealing with probabilities, I would try interpolation or backoff models.. I am not sure what assumptions/intuitions those models leverage to perform well, and so how well they would do for IDF scores. Anybody has any better ideas?
